Sakhawat is a tall standing example of Awadhi cuisine, the food at this place is garnished with lethal doses of affection. I have never had a sad meal at sakhawat. Being a regular at this place and the restaurant having shifting menu through the week has helped me gnaw almost everything the chef has made, also the only chef owned restaurant in town. The love with which the food is served will make you feel home every time. Sakhawat holds the best of everything. Their food is a reminder to people of Lucknow of the greatness of mughlai cuisine. The kebabs are delectably melt in your mouth kind, their mutton biriyani is an alternate kick on the yakhni biriyani of Lucknow. The fish just falls off the bone every single time: perfectly cooked. Every mutton preparation at sakhawat is off the bone and flavour bomb in your mouth. It is just amazing to taste the mutton recipes at this place, somehow the chef has learnt to keep the flavour of mutton intact while adding layers of spice and aromatic flavours. I have given it 4 starts just for the sole reason that there isint any decent seating space at the restaurant, and food of such quality must be eaten at an arms reach to the kitchen!

Tasty food... Chicken biryani, fish kebab are really awesum it is available onky on friday so do visit here on friday so dat u cn enjy d tasty fish kebab nd chicken biryani... Boti kebab is also yummmy.. pasanda kebab, kakori kebab are damm soft nd tasty...

To all the reviews that had berated the joint for its higher prices this should be told that they use only the desi variety for their chicken preparation which is far tastier and of course costlier than the broiler chicken used at other food joints.
At Sakhawats each dish is prepared and cooked in its unique way in a separate gravy which is not done at most restaurants where they use two or at most three types of precooked gravy for all their preparation on menu...by throwing in mutton/ chicken /even paneer pieces in a frying pan along with the pre cooked gravy.
Nevertheless it is felt that over the last three years they have not been consistent in maintaining the taste as it used to be earlier.
I presume this might be due to the change in khansama very frequently.
All said and done I still frequent the joint in my quest for best awadhi cuisine.
I ordered kakori chicken kabab,Galawati chicken kaban,Mutton Khada masala,Mughlai Parantha,roomali roti.
All was nice and well cooked with good packaging.
Food is Amazing and nice with humble sitting arrangement like Dhaba, however services needs to be pepped up.
But if you are a foody and have time then the restaurant will not disappoint you in terms of food quality. You can even order in your car and enjoy the food at your comfort.
This is the place you can visit to eat kebabs in lucknow, also let me tell you one secret their galawati kebabs are way better than tundays. This is one of the oldest shop in town and Faizan the owner work as the 3rd generation owner here.

3) Boti kebab
4) Fish kebabs ( served only on FRIDAY)
But there are some cons to it, the atmosphere and there service(sometimes) is not so good but the food is worth the trade for it.

Finding this place may be a bit tricky since its in a lane but that shldnt stop u from visiting this place. Car can easily b parked and u can enjoy ur food sitting inside the car or inside the restaurant.

Kakori kebab melts in the mouth, but is available only on Wednesdays and Fridays. The authentic chicken Awadhi Biryani will truly mesmerize anybody, and is flavored to perfection!
The Pasanda kebab was truly a delight.

Hidden gem located deep in the mine 😆. I like fish so I eat that over here. My friends go ga ga about their shami kabab, galawat & biryani. It’s a smallish old store, nothing fancy. Don’t go there if you are too posh 🥺, pure-non-veg connoisseurs only

Hidden gem, while tourists and amateur foodies rush to Tunday, true non vegetarian food lovers rush to Sakhawat. You must know how to appreciate well prepared Mughali delicacies in order to make the most of Sakhawat.
There is so much you can eat here and thus so much to write about. MUST TRY: Pasanda Kebabs (you'll forget galawati!), Kakori Kebabs, Shami Kebabs, Boti Kebab, Desi Butter Chicken, Biryani, and Roasted Chicken. If I had to name two items that you must try I'd nominate Pasanda Kebabs and Shami Kebabs.
You can literally order anything here and you won't be disappointed. Sakhawat is priced higher than others for a reason. And that reason is quality and consistency. The food will totally knock you over.
This one should remain hidden so that commercialization doesn't affect it like it has affected Tunday and others. Love this place!
