One of the best Places for family dinner scenes. Tried fried masala Idli it was good tangy with a unique taste & i wanted to try some different dosa so ordered ONION PANEER masala dosa it was also very nice. A bit too heavy though.

Located in a big, majestic Maharaja Regency. Very royal infrastructure and interiors... A beautiful, warm and holistic environment inside the restaurant. They have really maintained the quality of interiors very well. Food served is upto the taste marks and the service is also humble. Overall a great experience to spare time for a meal there with friends n family.

Good south Indian dishes. They have recently introduced Masalapuri. One must try this. It tastes just like from Bengaluru. Another super stuff is Set Dosa with Saagu.

Quantity is great, 2 person can share it. Taste wise thali was great. Paneer was soft . Gravy is prefect cooked. Samak rice khichdi was yum . Sabudana kheer was delicious. Shahi aloo was great. Aloo pakoras was also good. Puris was crispy and soft from inside. Gravy aloo was good in taste . Price was worth for this thali .

Best south indian food to have in ludhiana. Sagar Ratna has sustained and successfully made its place in the hearts of ludhianvis definitely. Watch out for hour long waiting queue on the weekends. Quick service and efficient staff. They have maintained their brand image, authenticity and taste of the cuisine all over the years. They are the favourite amongst ludhiana people in Navratras, because they offer special Navratra Food here. Apart from this regularly, Dahi Wada is their nest selling product. Look out for a number of dosas, uttapams in the menu. They have special south indian and north indian thalis in lunch. Worth every penny! Happy Eating

Very nice and good place to visit, Staff is good but Manager(Mr Santosh) don't have sense to talk to their customer. Very Politiely Speaking over the bill issue and he came and started like sir tumne order kiya hai to pay karna padega and when i reverted him back as Sir, I am paying you whole bill except this Rs 230 which is totally tastleless and we have not eaten it. That was not justiefied answer according to him and he lost his mind started yelling like Tumhe pay karna hoga, tumne order kara : khao na khao but pay karo aur baat khatam karo. Totaly rude, we people come at your place so means we have budget for the same and why gonna anyone say for Rs 230 when bill is more than Rs2000. First time very much dissatisfied. Learn to talk, or talk according to your age.

We tried the Paneer Butter Masala Dosa and Paneer Butter Masala. Food is always served fresh and hot. Ambience is warm and comfortable. Parking is adequate. Good choice for a family dinner or hood times with your friends. They will satiate all your South Indian food cravings.

Absolutely love this place which is our family favourite! The south Indian food served here is authentic in taste, hygienic,quality is excellent and service is really nice. Overall it's amazing. Maybe some people will find it a bit costly if you scan through the menu card but do try it once and I am sure you will not find a better south indian+ vegetarian option in Ludhiana.

The ambience was well decorated. Waiters were quite helpful. Although this resturant is inside of a hotel but you can still get your tummie full even if you're not staying in the hotel. It's peaceful and beautiful. Food is a bit expensive but it's worth the price. There's most of the south indian dishes in the menu with beverages and desserts.

I ordered some evening snacks from Sagar Ratna, Maharaja Regency. Some Dahi Vada and some Idli. And to my disbelief, there’s a fly in my idli. I can only imagine how unclean the kitchen and prep area is . Such an unappetising experience. I’m never going to order or dine in again at this place . There is also inconsistency in quantity and taste but those are smaller issues we as consumers choose to ignore. However, hygiene is non-negotiable. Very disappointed to see such low hygiene standards from a big brand.

Ambience has improved but the taste has declined over the years. Dosas are crisp and good but sambhar was OK and little on sour side. Over all service and quality is good. Valet parking available.

This place is really amazing in serving south indian food and the one who has not tried yet is really missing the real tastes of south india.

It serves great south indian . The restaurant interior is like a old classic indian restaurant. Though it has a huge variety of south indian/indian main course and quick bites . They serve special thalis for ones on fast during specific days of year . Dahin wada they serve is something no can beat them 10/10.<br/>At the end . The paan with a clove , is a perfect natural mouth freshner you need for Just ₹15.

I have visited this place earlier too. We even hosted many parties out here. I like the food here. But this time the staff was so rude and arrogant. First they allotted me a table and after 1-15 mins then forced me to leave saying that this table is for someone else. After i complained to manager he was totally ignorant. Such bad hospitality and they were too high headed! Shame on the staff!! If you have a good name in the market then it doesn’t mean you should treat other customers like this!!!!

Sagar Ratna is inside the hotel having a good ambience. 4 star for quality of the food and service. Mostly not to crowded. A good option for family lunch/dinner.

The food is good! But the service is pathetic and the staff is untrained. The cashier was awefully bad with his behaviour! The ambience is good but the bad behaviour of the cashier and the manager has ruined the experience. Good authentic South Indian food with a very bad staff. The oldest and most authentic South Indian restaurant in Ludhiana. Ordered the special dahi vada along with chettinad dosa and coconut rava dosa. Not at all what we expected when we hear the best South Indian Cuisine in the Northen Region. I Visited with Family and Relatives, the casual attitude, the overconfidence that has come up with their experience which is no more seen in their dishes. <br/>It use to be a good one but now it's complete waste of money, time and ambience too doesn't appeal you much. <br/>As I approached the manager to tell about some change in taste or a bad smell in Sambhar, he was not accepting the fact that it can be there, only he knows all are ordering it? <br/>Why are they having it? They should also complain and we are making this from years now..... <br/>I mean it's heights of unprofessional attitude towards the food culture they represent...... <br/>

Stayed at the hotel, had a couple of dinners here. <br/><br/>While you can get far better vegetarian fare elsewhere in the city, the location is great and the ambience good. <br/><br/>The Falooda here is pretty good and so is the butter Masala dosa. <br/><br/>Can't say good things about the lime soda they served though.

This is my definite go to place in Ludhiana for South Indian cuisine. This place is often packed especially on festival days and weekends. The service is pretty quick and the food is tasty, though its not very authentic if thats what you are looking for. Its more suited for north-indians who love to give a punjabi touch to almost everything, which definitely has its own charm. <br/><br/>The staff is pretty courteous and looks after you but I do have faced problems sometimes when placing orders and asking for bill as the waiters are more interested in watching the TV than assisting you especially during IPL and other cricketing days. Having been here for literally more than 100 times in last ~7 years, I can safely say that their service and taste hasn't changed since than. You go there on a filled up Sunday evening or a normal afternoon of any weekday they serve you with properly cooked, hot and fresh food which has a good taste of its own. Though I wont say they serve the best south indian I have ever eaten in my life, this is for sure one of the best south indian in Ludhiana city that I have eaten. I personally love the filter coffee they serve and the onion rawa dosa. But their uttapams are also quite delicious. I will definitely recommend this place if you are thinking of going for south indian in Ludhiana. I hate to post a jarring note among all the rave reviews that Sagar Ratna seems to have got,but honestly I beg to differ.<br/><br/>In the first place it has the feel and look of an industrial mess.Huge hall lined up with tables and chairs.The furniture seems to have been conceived tastefully,it bears the Javes imprint,one of my favourite places for interesting furniture.But the dull,stodgy brown finish ensures that it is reduced to the lowest common denominator.<br/><br/>We order masala dosa,idli and vada,fairly standard stuff for a South Indian joint.Sadly,Sagar Ratna fails to deliver.The dosa is soggy,with none of the crispness that a mean dosa batter ensures.The idli is flat and tasteless,with none of the fluff and tang that a nicely fermented batter ensures.The vada too is nothing to write home about.The sambhar and chutney are average.<br/><br/>To be fair to them maybe they were having an off day.However that doesn't take away from my impression of a thoroughly pedestrian place.<br/>

Standing tall since long , Sagar Ratna is known by everyone in the region. Located at an evergreen place though parking becomes a hassle sometimes especially if Marriage is there at Maharaja. Usually you find waiting time over here ,despite such a huge seating they have. service is fast , tastes are great and you will have some nice time there with their South Indian. My personal favourite is their dahi vada ; nothing can beat that. Happy eating

Well well well!!! After a long long time decided to dine-in at sagar ratna. My last visit to this place was 2-3 years back. But I don't remember which sagar ratna did I visit nor I remember what did I eat!<br/>Moving on, I'm not a big fan of south Indian food but after eating it at this very scintillating place, I can say that south Indian food is delightfully yum.<br/>Ordered a plain dosa, a vegetable cheese dosa and a masala dosa.<br/>Dosas of this place are of top notch! And yes if you really want to try something new go for the super yummy cheese dosa, just commendable! Sambhar and chatnis, they simply add some more value to the dosas! And a special mention for sambhar- super tasty!<br/>Next item was vada and channa poori! The mixture of perfect taste , softness and a little crunch that's wada for you- whats more one would ask!<br/><br/>Moving on to chana poori .. LEAST TASTY thing I would say but not bad!<br/>Ended with a refreshing south Indian paan which again was a treat to tongue!<br/>Overall one of the finest south Indian restaurants with a north touch which work wonders! Big thumbs up!

South indian dishes with a north Indian flavor. Ambience and aroma are nice the place is spacious but often gets crowded in the evenings. The best dishes to try are the onion uttapam and rawa onion masala dosa which require quite a precision to prepare to taste perfect and I got it here. Prices are also not high over all a nice place for a family time out

Arguably one of the best Sagar Ratna's of India, the location is just great @ Hotel Maharaja Regency, Firozepur Road. The food is great and the service is swift.<br/><br/>Do visit this place is you are in Ludhiana!

The first choice of almost everyone when it comes to South Indian cuisine. Went with 2 other friends for the lunch. It is a really neat and clean place built up in a simple yet stylish manner giving you the vibes of authentically good aura. We ordered a plate of Dahi Vada, Vegetable Uthappam and Onion Rava Masala Dosa. The dishes were delicious as expected from Sagar Ratna outlet. The big plus point was the courteous service of staff here. With this, the bill was of 500 bucks which is quite okay on pocket. All in all a good fine dining experience.

I had stayed in the maharaja regency during a business visit with my colleagues.. For our surprise there was a dedicated south Indian restaurant.. We were blown away with the service and the food offered here.. You could see a lot of people thronging this restaurant..

Sagar Ratna is to South Indian what Colgate is to brushing your teeth. The Sagar Ratna in Ludhiana is specifically a great one. I would definitely go to Sagar Ratna or Sankalp for South Indian food! The Sagar Ratna in Ludhiana is located very well in the heart of the city. Must visit!

The best South Indian in Ludhiana for sure. Just about every option in their range of dosas is delicious. For something slightly different try the extremely tasty Mushroom Dosa or the unbelievable Cheese Corn Dosa. What makes good South Indian food stand out from the average is the Sambhar and Sagar Ratna's Sambhar is truly delightful. Add to it the variety of the chutneys and your stomach is in for a treat for sure.

Very Nice South India Food.. This place holds a lot of reputation in terms of authenticity of food. Located in Hotel Maharaja, Ferozpur Road, this place is quite accessible. They serve a wide variety of Dosa's and their idli's and sambhar are just perfect. So the next time when you crave for some South Indian food, you know the place to be.<br/>You may try Sankalp - another south India restaurant,  situated on the Malhar Road as an alternate to this place. Both the places are nice 7 are known to serve good South India food in the city.

Thali is best option as quantity is sufficient for two. Great experience. Sagar ratna rocks everywhere. Will try dosa nextime. AMBIENCE IS BEST.

Sagar ratna is truly a ratna....offers the best south Indian food in this city of north India...(Ludhiana..I mean),ambience is good and u must try the chettinad dosa...and dahi vada..and before leaving complete ur meal with the scrumptious banarasi paaaan...wow

Nice place and bst if u wanna have south Indian cuisine with ur family and friends. Dosas idlies and varas are gud the navratra thaali is one thing attracting me .It's a must try but a little oily .The place is quite clean and graceful. Love visiting it. But nowadays sankalp is my new fav that's why giving 4 stars.

My heart says give a 5, but let me not get overwhelmed with my roots of being a South Indian! But trust me, this is the only authentic vegetarian South Indian restaurant in Ludhiana. <br/><br/>Prices are high but food is excellent and spices are just about in the right mix. Try the Mysore masala Dosa or if your are hungry then try the Fixed Thali. <br/><br/>You are greeted well and there is a big beautiful picture of Bhagwan Sri Satya Sai Baba greeting you in the entrance.

This signature South Indian Restaurent is part of Hotel Maharaja on Ferozepur Road. Offers standard south India which is extremely spicy (that I like) but very very oily and heavy (that I hate). Standard decor, decent service, nothing too great or too bad. If you are a die-hard south Indian follower, it wont fail you but wont also excite you.

I personally love this place.. You can't get the same sambhar from anyother outlet ..<br/>This place is definately worth the time and the money..<br/>Rava Masala dosa and dahi vada are lip smacking ... <br/>(Y)
