Unsuspecting ‘Train Bogie’ for good food !

Visited the place on 03 Aug with host of friends and family. Ordered various Veg / Non- veg stuff for dinner 😊

Ambience – It’s a Train Bogie shaped restaurant. Hence, many selfie points with Blue Train Bogie of Konkan railways in the background. Inside is surprisingly non-cramped, unlike Indian Railways !! Good soft décor, nice cutlery and adequate lightening to make it an ideal place to strike conversation. May be claustrophobic if you wanna move around and have fun.

Food – Superlative. Delicious and finger licking. Quantity is also pretty good to fill your appetite. Menu is far fetching and presents good variety. Not too greasy n good preparations over all.

Service – Very efficient and well organised. Food was served every time by the Steward and kept an eye of the table. They inquired about quality of food and were polite as they served with smile.

Would certainly want to visit again…!

Ambiance: This is the only train themed restaurant in Goa. The decor is pretty decent with comfy seatings in the inside. Outside seating is also available for larger groups. The train bogey on the outside looks very good and it's well maintained. They even played some track with train sounds to create the train-like environment.

Food:
- Chicken Peri Peri: Loved their Peri Peri masala. Chicken was well cooked and spice level was medium. This is must try.
- Cheese garlic naan: Perfect and accompanied Chicken Peri Peri.
- Chicken cafreal: Full of flavours and must try.
- Mango mousse: This was seasons special dessert. It was good.
They are also famous for dosas. Chicken biryani and kingfish are also quiet famous here.

Cost: Very reasonable price. Most items are in range of 180 to 250 bucks.

Service: Good and prompt service.

Nice concept to run inside an railway cabin . Formally welcomed by staff . AC is pleasant with pleasing music
We ordered 1 chicken dish which was inspired by local cuisine from Aquem . Cheese garlic naan was good but can be better .
Overall nice experience with quick service .will come again . We just wonder a hooter sound once in 20-30 minutes can make some delight full experience , just a thought .

A brilliant concept and an unique restaurant in a railway coach. This restaurant theme is totally different, which i have come across. They have replicated the railway model. The food is delicious too. The chicken Tangdi kabab was totally mouthwatering. Though the menu is limited, the quality is good.

Verynice ambience and good food , Little spice than the normal dishes and cost is not on the higher side but not too low also. It's like a train from front and there is party space at backside

Big old building built by Portuguese..staff is helpful but if government can do away with physical files, old records via different modes would be helpful..

This is a beautiful portugese styled structure located at the heart of the city. Margao municipal building is 117 years old the written documents state that the foundation stone for the municipal building was laid on September 27, 1902, and this imposing new municipal building was built by Caetano Camilo da Silva of Orlim and inaugurated on April 30, 1905. To construct it, the Governor imposed heavy taxes on the people of Salcete, such was the public resentment of the steep taxes that Arnaldo de Menezes from Raia composed the Mando “Kitlem Odruxtt Amchem”. Margao city centre is crowned with one of the most prominent colonial-era tiled-roof buildings that serves as the municipal council office. Earlier known as Camara Municipal de Salcete, referring to Salcete taluka, the Margao Municipal Council oversees its operations from this imposing central landmark. The exterior walls, once red and white in color, don a bright yellow and white outlook that make it 'fit-in' the overall color scheme of the city. Besides offering regular administrative services such as taxation and registration certificates to life events, the municipal council also runs an extremely popular public library that marked its centenary celebrations in 2014. Just across the street from this Municipal Council building are the other two central landmarks of the city—Municipal Garden and Aga Khan Children's Park at the northern end. Separated by a narrow walkway frequented by vendors, an aerial view would make these two appear as one big garden. The children park was constructed in 1959 by a local businessman named Abdul Javerbhai Mavany in the honor of visiting HH Aga Khan, the Imam of Nazari Ismaili Muslims and the leader of the Khoja (Khwaja) community in India. Situated next to the market bus terminal, the green patch is often dubbed as 'lungs of Margao'. The municipal garden is open from 7:30 AM to 8:30 PM, while the Children's Park is open between 5 PM to 9 PM

The Municipality during the erstwhile Portuguese regime was known as "Camara Municipal de Salcete" catering to all the villages in Salcete Taluka until the Goa Municipalities Act, 1968, came into force. The "Camara Municipal de Salcete" is now reconstituted into Margao Municipal Council. The Members of the "Camara Municipal de Salcete" were then nominated by the Government, but after the reconstitution of the Municipal Council, the Members to all the 20 wards (10 in Margao & 10 in Fatorda) are elected by the Members of the council. There is no informative material available as a compilation to make the public aware and understand the procedure laid down to get their work done easily. Therefore the main purpose of this compendium is to bring at one place, the basic information about the procedures involved in obtaining various NOC's licences and permissions, hiring of Municipal properties viz Night Soil Tankers, Hearse Van, Municipal hall, Lohia Maidan etc. The Citizen's Charter will give an idea as to how one has to approach to various authorities in the Municipality to get their work done promptly.
