Want experience the best dishes from typhoon shelter cuisine from hong kong and the most beautiful and delicious desserts in Mumbai then you must visit this place.! Went to this place for a dinner with team and it was amazing experience. Place has super cool ambience which depicts the shelters in hong kong. There are hut kind of private dinning tables which resembles to asian structures. Overall feel of the place is very positive and delightful.! Their food is so compact yet completely satisfactory and balanced between both veg and non veg dishes. Food menu is really impressive and it is one of those places where I was not confused on what to order because all the options available in menu were famous dishes from the ports of hong kong and I was very happy with the food at this place. Their port to plate concept menu is definitely a must try and it surely will delight you. Service was flawless and staff at this place was very professional with so good knowledge about all the dishes and drinks.! Things that we ordered and loved are as below.! Soups: their special methods and spices used to prepare the soups does make a difference in texture, consistency and taste of soup at this place. Definitely a unique taste and a great quality. We tried sweet corn soup and shanghainese hot and sour soup, both of them were fabulous in taste. Dimsum - being a dimsum lover, I always look for a place that has some good options for Dimsum and this place is obviously one of them. They have so many varieties under both veg and non-veg Dimsums. All the Dimsum were steamed to perfection with perfect outer coating and delicious stuffing inside. Presentation was so beautiful in all the dimsum. We ordered wild mushroom & edamame dumplings, jade chiv sui mai, broccoli and olive purse and har gau. To all the dimsum lovers you should bookmark this place.! Small plates -we tried some of the very famous dishes from the port of hong kong like pepper spiked tofu, lotus root chips, yolands crispy prawns. All the dishes were prepaed with so much perfection. Authentic taste and high quality that's what I would highlight. Cocktails - I just have one word for cocktails at this place, 'Unique'. We really liked spice route and drunken rose which are recommended by them. Cocktails were definitely very strong and really went down well.! Mains- we could try some signature dishes like noodles with seaweed and kale, Cantonese fried rice, kung pao prawns and tofu panda. Really loved the rice preparation. Tofu panda a gravy with unique taste was definitely a good choice. Desserts - believe me or not this place does have the most beautiful looking desserts in Mumbai I have ever seen.! We tried zen, luna and mandarin.! Omg what a satisfactory desserts. This place is definitely in my forevers for desserts.! Summarizing a dinner experience, this place definitely creates those vibes of a typhoon shelter with its perfect asian interiors and does serve some lip smacking delicacies using a so well crafted food menu. I would definitely like to visit the place again.!

Looking for an authentic Chinese and oriental experience? You must visit Typhoon Shelter. They have recently launched a new menu that is simply superb. Here are my favourites- the Asian greens salad- their spin on a lemon corriander with edamame and broccoli. The Kung Pao tofu- this really packs a punch and is superbly delicious. The lamb dumplings- juicy balls of minced lamb. Succulent, tasty and bursting with flavours. Prawn tempura- a classic served hot and crispy For mains you have to try the burnt garlic sticky rice along with the Asian greens. For Non vegetarians, the prawns gravy is something you shouldn't miss. The desserts are simply mind blowing. The zen one is practically mousse in the shape of stones. One of the best desserts I have had in all of Mumbai. The others are the Luna which is coconut rice pudding and mango puree in a globe of sugar . The Mandarin is a mouse with ornage served with tiny cakes. The space is authentically decorated and is simply a delightful space to be in.

Typhoon Shelter is a restaurant that's a concept based Chinese restaurant that has a HongKong feel to it. Read on to know more. Concept testing(5/5) They have clearly got their concept right in place. From their drinks to the seating and ambiance. On point. Everything Ambiance and Service (5/5) The ambiance of the place really makes you feel that the typhoon is going to hit and you are taking shelter where you are sitting. There are screens on the ceiling that have clouds that keep moving and is a complete delight to watch. Service of the place is a really good. The staff really has complete detail of what the dish is really like and explains the entire concept to you. What did we drink: Chinese Puzzle This is a gin based mock tail. The lavender flavour goes really well with the orange liqueur. In fact with every sip the flavour just keep changing for good and is great till the end. The elder one This dish has a lot of foam on it and takes some time for it to be settled. The gin is infused by blue pea. It's slightly less sweet and the flavour does get diluted towards the end. What did we eat: Succulant lamb crystal ball These are basically mutton dimsums. It has very mild flavour of basil in it with some birds eye chilli. Overall I felt that the mutton was too chunky. Har Gau These are prawn dimsums. I honestly found these better than the mutton ones. The consistency or the prawns were great with minimilastic flavour of asparagus Num Num chicken Have always been used to having bao is in a different form but these were presented in a slider form. The bread was slightly dry but the chicken was awesome. The flavour of slight chilli and sweetness blended really well. Tuna Tartar These was a tuna salad with vinaigarette and mixed cress. The flavour of the tuna was the most dominant in all of it which was great. The presentation of this salad is as fantastic Typhoon Shelter Turnip Cake Never have I ever felt that turnip would taste like this. The cake was basically fried which had a very thin covering on top. It also had grandmamas chilli sauce served along with it which was fab. I was quite amazed with this dish and highly recommend this. Dan Dan noodles in chicken These are handmade noodles served in a sweet peanut sauce. The noodles were topped with minced chicken. The chicken was cooked to perfection. The sweet peanut sauce went really well with the noodles. Zen If you visit the typhoon shelter, you have to have the zen. The dessert honestly look pebbles kept on your plate. Which is actually true. You have to keep guessing which one are the pebbles and which one is the actual dessert. These are soft edible stones of caramel, Hazelnut and vanilla. A complete delight! Our experience at Typhoon shelter was quite good and amazing. I was quite amazed at their offerings.

Mashrit was our maitre'd for the evening, and we absolutely loved the service and his attitude towards the patrons. More about that later. Let's jump into the food that we tried: Tender Nanjing Duck Thinly sliced duck meat slow braised in plum chilli vinaigrette topped with toasted Quinoa, rocket leaves, and thinly sliced cucumber. I liked the spicy overtones of the chilli from the vinaigrette which complemented the inherent sweet tones of the braised duck meat and the sweet undertones of plum in the vinaigrette. Cha Sui Bao The cha Sui Bao was a bao filled with barbequed pork meat. The spicy overtones of the barbequed pork complemented the sweet undertones of the bao bun, which I really liked. Craboli The Craboli was more like a crab slider but inside a bao bun in the stead of a normal bun. I really liked the crispy crunchy texture and the spicy undertones of the crab which provided a sharp contrast to the soft fluffy texture and the sweet undertones of the bao bun. Taro Nest It turned out to be the weirdest dish, with crunchy chestnuts taro roots were mixed with butter dough and chilly and it was fried in a manner which allowed it to form a net. The only issue was that net was way too oily for my liking, however, ignoring the net, the taste was pretty good. Sing A Ling King Fish The sing a ling king fish was probably the only dish which didn't have sweet undertones except those from the grilled meat itself, which paired very well with the spicy undertones of the Singapore chilli sauce with which it was served. Sizzled Seasonal Greens Sizzled Seasonal Greens comprised of French beans, broccoli, and pak choy pan seared and semi cooked in oyster sauce. The crunchy texture of the greens provided a welcome change after the soft texture of the grilled fish meat. Cantonese Steamed Bass The sea bass was sliced into bite sized fillets and was cooked to a soft perfection in a ginger-scallion broth. It was a very mildly spiced dish which would go very well when paired with a spicy noodle or rice preparation, which is exactly what I did. Fun Fun Ho Fun This was house special flat noodles cooked in a spicy sauce along with shredded lamb and pepper juliennes. The spicy overtones and the sweet undertones paired well with the mildly spiced flavour of the Cantonese steamed bass. Wobbly Cheesecake Yes, they serve the cotton cheesec or the Japanese cheesecake with crème anglaise and it tastes absolutely delightful. Although it seemed to me that the cheesecake was slightly undercooked, as it felt a little sticky in the centre. But the sides were perfectly cooked, and the taste was also great and the crème anglaise tasted absolutely well with the cotton cheesecake. Beverages Chinese Puzzle It was a nice gin based cocktail with a hint of galangal and citric overtones from the orange liqueur and sweet undertones from the lavender which was infused in the gin. It has a nice, refreshing taste, very subtle on the taste buds, and also pairs well with a lot of dishes owing to the subtlety. We also returned to it time and again to act as a palate cleanser because of it's fresh, mild flavour. The Ship's Lantern This was probably the best drink I tried at the Typhoon shelter. The flavours of the pomegranate and the white chocolate paired gorgeously with sparkling ginger ale, and somehow it reminded me of the Pallonji's vanilla sodas that I used to drink as a kid. The typhoon Shelter is based on a unique concept, which the decor reflects perfectly. They have tried to mimic the typhoon shelters in China, where the fishermen come and take cover during typhoons. The ceilings are lined with led screens which mimic the sky during a typhoon, and soothing music plays softly in the background, with intermittent rumbles of thunder to remind you of the typhoon because of which you're in the shelter. In the Typhoon Shelter, the fishermen exchange ingredients and recipes creating a beautiful fusion of different styles of cooking that are prevalent all across China - which is exactly what the chef has tried to incorporate in the menu.

High Street Pheonix is home to some amazing restaurants! Plenty of options available to shoppers / movie go-ers, etc. Had heard a lot about this relatively new restaurant - Typhoon Shelter! Typhoon Shelter is located at level 2 of Skyzone Mall in High Street Pheonix. This place serves authentic Chinese food! The concept of the place is brilliant! The bar also showcases the waves in the ocean! Beautiful looking fully loaded bar! You will actually appreciate every small detailing they have done, you will find a piece of wood on every table, its purely to represent the destruction which a Typhoon does! Talking about the things which I tried at Typhoon Shelter - We were first served with 3 sauces which form the core of their menu! Served with dimsums! First was the Typhoon Hot Sauce - spicy as crazy! So please have in small quantity with caution! Next is the Sweet Chilli Sauce which one can have to cut down and Cantonese Soya Sauce which has Mushroom in it! The best way to analyse any Oriental place is from their sauces! And taste of these sauces speak immensely about this place! We had 2 different dimsums - Jade Chive Sui Mai and Wild Mushroom & Edamame Dumpling. I personally loved both of them. The mushroom dumpling has a mix of 6 types of mushroom! Something to die for for a mushroom lover! To go with food, we called for some drinks - The Ships Lantern and The Great Wall! I personally loved the Ship's Lantern, pomegrenate based drink with white chocolate and Ginger ale to add some fizz. It is nice red colour drink with some dehydrated pomegrenate on top! The Great Wall is a cold pressed Guava with Sichuan flavor spices. We also tried the Camomile Cooler and Jasmine and Basil Ice tea! Both drinks extremely refreshing and perfect smooth drinks with the food and after a long tiring day! Special thing to mention, Typhoon Shelter is perhaps the only bar in Mumbai, which has a dedicated dehydrator for fruits. All these dehydrated fruits are kept in glass jars at the bar counter and used for garnishing. Coming back to food, next we had a Bolo Bao a sweet pineapple bun with veggie patty in it and some lettuce! Next we tried the Crisp Seasonal Vegetables which is Vegetables like Broccoli, Water chestnuts, baby corn tossed in Toban Chilli Sauce to perfection. Must try and recommended! Next that we had was unqiue and I have never tried this before! It is called Taro Nest! Taro Root is the base to prepare this dish along with Water Chestnuts and Butter Dough with chilli! This is finally sprinkled with some Olive Dust imported from outside of India! The reason it's named this way is because from outside it looks messy as a nest! Moving to the mains - we tried the Wild Mushroom Clay Pot, Dan Dan Noodles, Sizzled Seasonal Greens and Cantonese Fried Rice! Mushroom lovers should order the Clay Pot, mushrooms tossed in Hunan style Sauce. Seasoned veggies include broccoli, asparagus amongst other greens tossed in Oyster sauce! Would definitely recommend all to try the Dan Dan Noodles! Flat noodles along with Peanut Sichuan Sauce! Must try.. Cantonese Fried Rice includes Edamame, Corn and Broccoli! In case one doesn't prefer flat noodles, one can go for this! Finally moving to the desserts, tried the 2 most famous ones - The Zen and The Luna! Firstly the Zen - what happens when you get a plate of pebbles! You look astonished! Is that to be eaten! But beware, of the 6 pebbles you see, 3 are real ones and 3 are fake, which is the dessert! Zen is the edible pebbles made of caramel-vanilla and hazelnut crunch! Never seen this before! Amazing... The Luna is another signature dessert where the dish comes along with a ball of white light which represents the moon! Luna is a sugar ball stuffed with mango sticky rice pudding with bit of caramel sauce! What a way to end a fantastic experience at Typhoon Shelter. The place is a fine dine so please do expect pricing to be on the higher side, but it is an experience unparalleled to any in Mumbai! Would definitely recommend an outing to this place, I am sure you will not regret it!

Typhoon Shelter has a theme based on Hong Kong Typhoon. The ambience is gives you a perfect feel of you being in a typhoon hit region, especially because of the roof which has thundering/ lightning effect. Appetizers Tender Nanjing Duck. 5/5 Slices of duck topped with quinoa, cucumber, rocket leaves and dressed plum chilli vinaigrette. I had duck for the first time and surely enjoyed the raw taste. Wild Mushroom and Edamame Dumpling. 5/5 These were the most softest dumplings I had. They actually melted in mouth. They had applied some kinda oil on the outside, the texture was really beautiful. Numb Numb Chicken. 4/5 These are chicken sliders with a sweet taste. Highly recommended to people who love sweet baos. Also, the bread used was freshly baked in house which added to the taste. The lost Salmon. 4/5 I tasted Salmon for the first time and had a great experience because of the sunflower leaves and radish used. The pink salmon was fresh and highly delicious. Ba. 5/5 Vodka infused with lavender, eight grapes and sour apple, a perfect cocktail for the vodka lovers. Tidal mist. 5/5 Cape gooseberry shrub dipped in dry vermouth. It gives a hit in one sip. Later you have a salty taste in your mouth. Mains Four Treasure Vegetables. 5/5 Vegetarians will love this. Water chestnuts, baby corn, carrot, butternut squash, chilli bean sauce used. Chicken A La Ma. 5/5 Chicken being my favourite of all meats, this was the best in house. You get Mala gravy with slowly cooked chicken which makes the chicken soft. Pork Belly Fried Rice. 5/5 Freshly cooked, chopped pork, smoked bacon and green pea flavoured rice. Dessert. Learning Madarine. 5/5 This desert looks like an orange, served with kek lapis, a perfect way to end the meal.

Typhoon Shelter, as the name suggests, is themed around Japan’s typhoon and how the locals took shelter from the typhoon and lived under one roof helping each other. The place showcases the authentic japanese and asian food that the locals cooked, but served here with a modern touch. The entire restaurant is designed like a small japanese house. Upon entering you will notice the ambiance is dimmed with a soft music playing. The entire ceiling displays cloudy videos which is played on a loop and will give you the actual feeling of dining under a cloudy typhoon like weather. The best time to experience this is during dinner. They have managed really well to create an ambiance as per the theme. There is a huge projector screen showing the lifestyle of Japan and the delicacies served there. Without a doubt the service is quick and the staff is courteous. We were served by Rohan who was sweet and polite and helped throughout our lunch. The Cocktails and Mocktails were prepared upto the mark. The Ships Lantern, Tidal Mist, The Elder One, and Chinese Puzzle are the ones we ordered. Among the salads we ordered Tuna Tartare, which was very well presented. I was not so fond of the taste, but my friend loved every inch of it. For the Dimsums we called for Har Mai which was a simple prawn stuffed dimsum which tasted good. Succulent Lamb Crystal Ball, which was my favourite dimsum. Stuffed with minced lamb with a thin covering was very delicious. Numb Numb Chicken was a small sized bao which was presented nicely. It looked more like a slider. Yolandas Crispy Prawns was another favourite of mine. Crispy fried prawns served with wasabi mayo and radish. Must try. Chengou Chicken was an extremely spicy asian prepared chicken appetizer. It is bagged with asian flavours and tossed with a lot of red and green chillies which I enjoyed eating. Typhoon 8 Pomfret came as wowsa to us. Whole pomfret fish which is simply deep fried and then served on a bed of soya sauce mixed with chillies and garlic. A must try for seafood lovers. Seafood Fried Rice was yummy as hell. Properly cooked fried rice served with scallops and lobster pieces. I thoroughly enjoyed eating this bowl of chinese rice. Zen is without a doubt, a must order dessert and is their signature dessert. The dessert consists of edible stones, mousse with caramel made like a stone. But not all stones served to you will be edible. You will need to check which ones are actually dessert and which are real stones. It was fun. Bon Apetit!!

One of the best Asian cuisine places in Mumbai and the best part is having it in a lavish Asian style decor as well. The food has authentic taste and the portion size is excellent for the price There are almost equivalent options of veg as well as non veg. The staff is very courteous and the service is prompt as well. They have relaunched their menu 'PORT TO PLATE' out if which we had the following : ▪️DRINKS 1) DRUNKEN ROSE : The best cocktail out of all, it is a vodka based cocktail mixed with dried rose and sweet vermouth. 👍🏻 2) SPICE ROUTE : Mix of Bourbon with Sichuan pepper and campari, nice one! 👍🏻 3) BA : A tad bit on the sour side which is a mix of lavender infused vodka, sour apple and grapes. Presented well. ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ ▪️FOOD 1) JADE CHIVE'S SUI MAI DUMPLING Mix of garlic chive skin, veggies and topped with pomegranates, very different take on the traditional taste. And the stuffing is a creamy paste of both the ingredients. 3) STIR FRIED NOODLES WITH SEAWEED AND KALE The noodles were flat and cooked well, topped with fried crispy kale leaves and a dash of seaweed. 4) CANTONESE RICE The best main course dish, the jasmine flavoured fried rice with a mix of edamame, and other veggies. Very flavorful 👍🏻 ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ ▪️DESSERT 1) ZEN A dessert that stole my heart literally! The best dessert I've had after a long time. Newly opened in Phoenix we gave this place a shot on Sunday. The service here is spectacular, very polite and super familiar with the menu. The menu has an interesting spread of your Asian favourites and their take on it. We ordered almost all their dimsums- Prawn dimsum Mutton dimsum Mushroom & edamame dimsum Pork Bao They all tasted amazing, cooked to perfection. I would recommend ordering all. We also ordered the Salmon with pickled raddish & Crispy prawns, the prawns by far was my fav dish with hints of wasabi mayo, the salmon cooked perfectly also tasted well For mains we ordered only one thing as we definitely loved the small plates and over ordered, flatnoodles with mutton, this to was delicious Desert - Luna - Mango pudding rice. It had tasty fresh mangos and wasn't to sweet. The decor is a bit over the top for my taste but the restaurant looks super cool, makes you feel like you are in Asia. They even have a ceiling with visuals of the sky depicting the typhoon & sounds to go along with it.

Typhoon Shelter is situated in the new wing of High Street Phoenix. They serve only Chinese cuisine. Their ambience is far superior to the other Asian restaurants in the same vicinity.

Their menu has limited options, which enhances the importance of each dish. Vegetarian friendly place and the chef was more than accomodating to make our dietary restricted food.

I ordered stir fried noodles with kale and seaweed, there was practically no kale and seaweed, so I basically paid almost 700 for stir fried noodles. It’s too over priced!

A classy restaurant tucked in a corner of Phoenix Mills, once you enter it will give you all the asian vibe you need. the large LED screen with just the hustle bustle of South East Asia just adds to the charm. But apart from that, the place was a little dimly lit even for lunch time. Typhoon Shelter ♥️

A very nice place located in Palladium, Lower Parel. I recently visited this place to try some Desserts and had a really good experience.

We ordered the Wobbly Cheesecake and Guava Sorbet.

The Wobbly Cheesecake was so soft and delicious, that it was melting in my mouth. I being a big fan of cheesecake simple loved this one.

Also the Guava Sorbet was something unique. It has a hint of spice to it but tasted really good with the Dragon fruit.
Birr Kumar
Hats of to Krishna he gave us an amazing experience and he knew the menu Inside out he recommended good food
Mousumee Kerketa
The food is unique and one of the best quality food we have ever in Mumbai. We ordered dan dan noodles which was their signature dish. Special thanks to Mr Krishna for his recommendations and made it special. On our request he replaced chicken with prawn for chengdu chicken preparation.

I had very high expectations and got a bit disappointed. The management did try to make it right, but hope they improve the food quality

When on a Friday afternoon, you are the only guest at a location like High Street Phoenix Mills, Lower Parel, I guess, it says it all. At this restaurant, the chef doesn't taste the food. The pan fried veg starter was bland to a different level. And had 60 percent baby corn, 30 percent chestnut and 10% broccoli. The mushroom clay pot main course had roots which had to be pulled out of the mouth and then spit on the plate. The rice was ok. Is that it? Yes. Avoid. Much cheaper and better places at HSP.
Maria Lokhandwala
Too expensively priced for very little quantity , moreover food was pretty ok. Did not feel like a fine dining experience
Prachi Mantri
This place is such a treat! The food is unbelievably delicious. Their "zen" is a must-have. Something of an exotic novelty but worth the price (word of caution: you cannot finish that dessert alone). But that's not all, even their noodles are perfectly spiced. Also, if you drink, try out their Chinese Puzzle. It's incredible that they have a lavender flavoured cocktail. You can't visit this place every day of course but if you want to make it special, go here.

Lovely food and lovely service by Krishna..

I was stunned seeing the ambience of the place. Very rarely I have seen such great ambience.

The service of the place was great and the servers fast.

The black rice was just great. It was the first time I was trying out black rice and Typhoon shelter didn't disappoint.

Thank you Typhoon Shelter. Will surely visit again.
The ambience is extremely cosy and relaxing. The waiters are extremely friendly and helpful. The service is prompt. The food is delicious. Value for money I would rate 5/5. The quality of food is very good.

Brilliantly cooked pan Asian food with subtle authentic flavors: polite, helpful, prompt service and the soothing ambience - are some of the reasons this is an oft repeated dining destination for a quiet evening. Good for romantic dates and hangout with buds or family
Karan Sharma
The food is good but the quantity is very less compared to the prices. Wasn't expecting that. Service is good, ambience is good. Staff is very friendly. Presentation is good
Keiya Barot
Absolutely disgusted by the service, I reserved a table 4 days prior for a group of people, called the day before and confirmed my reservation and when I reached there, we were turned away because the restaurant was "closed". Basic courtesy dictates that they call me and let me know even if it's a few minutes before.
The Maitre'd was extremely rude and unapologetic about us literally having no where to go on a crowded Sunday afternoon.
I've given it one star, I wish I could give the hospitality 0, they deserve less than that.

Great place for family and friends. Food is amazing as well. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Ambience : 4/5
Taste: 5/5
Value for money : 3/5
Family:5/5
Best seller: Boa and dim sims

Typhoon shelter is such good place for a having Asian food. They are so careful about those guest and also focus hygiene . We are so happy with typhoon shelter Phoenix mall lower parel.

Typhoon Shelter, meticulously and dramatically themed restaurant in the heart of Mumbai is stirring the pot with its menu created by celebrity chef Christian Yang. Typhoon Shelter cuisine is an amalgamation of local cuisines of China that arrived in Hong Kong via the visiting vessels. A perfect spot for an immersive experience of dining in the middle of an approaching typhoon.
Sheng Jian Bao - Shanghainese pan-fried bao, stuffed with cottage cheese.
Crisp seasonal vegetables- Broccoli, Water chestnuts, Baby Corn Toban Chilli Sauce
The Dan Dan noodles- Flat Noodles tossed in Sichuan peanut sauce.
Exceptionally good service, good food and spectacular ambience.

The food gets your taste buds tingling. The cocktails taste better than they look and they look amazing. The service is prompt, attentive, intuitive and warm.
The place is small and cozy. Get a sofa to yourself and you are set for an unforgettable evening.

Been there on a weekday , the ambience is just perfect if you are looking for a dining and wining in an pub/club feel. We had black rice along with four treasure vegetable, black rice was well cooked with the right spices and sauces , perfectly blending with the vegetables. The dessert we ordered was called “Zen” would recommend this hand crafted preparation , it was delectable and equally creative.
My overall experience was great. Must visit once and try out their offerings
Drishti Barar
Absolutely love this place. Great staff and quality food. Have been here thrice and I’ve never been disappointed. I’ve tried almost 2/3 of the menu and each dish stands on its own. Highly recommended.

Good food but Service is Slow so Order Accordingly Ambience is Also Soothing and Calm .. worth visiting at least once to get a hands on experience
Jai Gidwani
It's a very good place for a family outing
The food is amazing but the portion size is a little unreasonable for the price
Vegetarian Dimsums and chicken is really good and perfectly cooked
The baos are also a good option to try here
The chicken noodles alongwith chicken gravy is a great combination for a main course
The place is beautifully constructed with attractive interior decor
The staff is well trained, cooperative and friendly
The service is a little slow but the food quality and presentation covers for it
Overall it was a great experience
Karishma Kothari
I have been to many places for dine but this is at another level its most soul satisfaying food. To start with broccoli and ruby dumplings mouth watering. The staff is very friendly and courteous especially a guy named Dharmesh. So if u r Chinese food lover it is must visit.

Felt so awesome here with the excellent music, a well themed traditional style, Hong Kong Harbour Chinese food & special service by Krishna. The place has a unique identity with the concept taken from typhoons shelters on boats in HK. A must visit for its uniqueness...

Well... this place has made my boyfriend lick his fingers. Which by the way, is very difficult when is comes to Asian food because he automatically hates everything.
We had the “cha sui boa” which was delicious it was the perfect balance of sweet and spicy if had with the correct proportion of the sauce that they serve.

We then called for a dish called “chengdu chicken” which was spicy but amazing. I also thought the chilies served with the chicken were beans. (Lol, my bad)

For our mains we had a dish called “Dan Dan Noodles” which was basically udon noodles with a peanut sauce with tiny piece of pork (which really enhanced the flavor) which basically blew my boyfriend’s mind. He still craves it. Lol.

For dessert we had the wobbly cheesecake which was good in taste but I think it was a bit dense.

But not a bad experience at all.
The servers We’re really nice they helped us out a lot.
One of my nicest dining experience.
Pratiksha
First of all, let’s take a moment to appreciate how beautiful the ambience is. Very private and cosy.
The food did complete justice to the great ambience.
What we had:
Mocktails: The Great Wall: it’s a guava based drink with tomato skin. Loved it.
Lantern: gooseberry based drink with a couple of different spices. One of the best I’ve ever had.

Starters: chengou chicken: my friend ordered and still talks about it everyday

Honey lotus stem: it was very well cooked but was too sweet for my taste. However mixed with all their in house sauces and made it to my taste.

Mushroom and edamame dumpling: absolutely divine. Recommended.

Main course: we were so full by that time but still ordered some stir fried noodles which was really good.

My next visit will be only to eat their most famous dessert Zen.

Food: 5/5
Ambience: 5/5
Service: 4/5
Value for money: 3.5/5

Loved the ambience, took me back to nostalgic Hong Kong days.. excellent food and service.. the turnip cake, the lotus root and above all the the whobbly cheesecake 👌🥂

Excellent food, friendly staff but potions could be better especially for the price you are paying.
Overall a good experience in terms of taste! Thank you!
Sonia Narula
The interiors to be specific reminded of Singapore Gardens by the bay area. With hints of the same.
The interior was quite dark to be honest and it was a small place.
We ordered a mix of veg and nonveg dishes.
They were quite the authentic taste, which wasn't what our pallets desire.
Wasn't very happy with the veg options. Nonveg was still okay.
Benaifer1979
Amazing food. Great service by Krishna who helped us navigate the menu and had the best dessert i have ever had ....ZHEN... bursting if flavours and unreal ... am definitely going bk

Dinner for two, and had a friendly steward Krishna who is knowledgeable and helpful with the menu suggested us starters and main course. It was a perfect meal with authentic taste and so were the mock tails and the dessert Caramelised Banana icecream was on the house, was excellent and superb. Overall, good service and good food and good staff, looking forward for next visit...

Superb food ...... awesome ambience ...... each and every dish we had was one better than the other . Special thanks to the headchef SAHIL PRADHAN for setting such high standards. Will definitely recommend and come over and over again

Had lunch @ Typhoon Shelter wonderful place. The food is great. Had ordered Turnip Cake and Tofu for veg starters which were gr8. For Non veg starters we had called for Craboli, Tsing Tao Scallops and Chengou Chicken. While all the dishes were gr8 the Scallops were to die for... Amazing... for Mains we had Chicken noodles and veg fried rice and four treasure vegetables. The food, ambience, staff all deserve a applause.
A must visit...

Visited this place for Saturday dinner, to our surprise didn't have to wait for the table. Infact the restaurant was quite vacant. Got our choice of table. The ambience here was dark and gloomy with some mild music being played. It was a DJ night and we had no idea what the DJ was playing. They also have a wall with visual projection. Some unnecessary stuff was being projected there as well. Entering the restaurant, we didn't get a good vibe definitely.
The service here was good, we were served by Dharmesh. The menu had a mix of vegetarian and non veg stuff with Dim Sums, Bao and other stuff. The variety was less hence we decided to take their opinion and order.
For starters we ordered, pepper spiked Tofu. This tasted more like Chilly Paneer but was decent in taste. Also had bell pepper in it. For drinks we ordered the Great Wall which is cold pressed guava spotted with five spice and tomato skin. This was also OK in taste. For mains, we were suggested a dish called 'Fun fun ho fun.' It was flat rice noodles prepared in some sauce. We didn't really enjoy that dish. This place is not very light on your pocket, though we had Zomato gold. Overall, the experience was a forgettable one. Nothing really clicked for us here. Overall rating will be 3/5.
Vincent
Love the amazing pork belly. The prawns here are amazing too. Mr. Rohan our waiter helped us with the menu and also helped us out with a dessert called the Mandarin, really loved that dish too.
Rosh Govadia
Visited this place a couple of time now and its become one of our favourite place. Delicious food but limited options. The cocktails were amazing too (thank you Siddhart :)) Service is excellent!!!
Bharesh Dedhia
Really enjoyed the food here. Good soups, dimsums, black rice and 5 treasure vegetables. Keep it up. Will return for more. Nice ambience...they need to advertise more....
Ddelnaaz
The place has a very cosy and inviting ambience. The staff polite and courteous. We went there super hungry and ordered pork belly fried rice with a lamb dish. The pork belly fried rice were flavorful...however it could do with a tad bit more meat. The lamb we ordered complimentes the rice very well. The portion size was also good. Will be visiting again for sure!!!
Siddharth Wagal
Had gone with my wife last nite for an impromptu dinner. Well this has become my new fav place. There is not much to choose from the menu as it is limited. But trust me whatever you order the food is awesome. The dimsuns the pork bao and the seafood fried rice is simply awesome. Also i must say the service is also great. Will definitely visit the place soon.
Rohit
The restaurant was too dark..service was extremely slow..food was beyond pathetic.. the chicken & fried rice was extremely bland as good as just boiled food..when we complained they served us fresh portion of chicken & noodles which was overtly spicy which gave us chest burn..would advise please do not even bother to try it even if you are dying of hunger it’s an absolute waste of time & money.. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTING!!
Subramanian Venkateswaran
Pathetic place, pathetic service, pathetic food... the quality of food and the taste is very bad... chicken and the fried rice were very bland... some of the stuff were over spicy... not worth the place..
CK
Ambience -ok. A bit too dim unless you’re on one of the sofas which have better lighting.
Ordered the cha Siu bao . Big disappointment. Split open in the basket while scooping it out. Saw that it actually had 4 pcs of pork fat in it with no meat at all. Not acceptable.
The Kung Pao prawns were good.
Seafood fried rice was OK again with very little seafood in it. Overall the portions barely suffice for 2 people even if you are not exactly a big eater. Not sure if I would visit this place again.
Saransh Makwana
The food out there is very good. Wasn't aware of it and I love Asian food. Everything on the menu that we ordered was great. Really liked the peanutty Dan Dan noodles

This is about the worst experience we have had in a restaurant for many years now. Went with my 9 year old son and my old mother to the place. We will relate the initial experience later but what took the cake was that the main course order was not delivered for 45 minutes. Worse one of the servers asked if we were done and if we were waiting for the cheque! Inspite of asking for the manager no one showed up. The excuse was the entire restaurant had placed orders and they couldn’t process them! Wow! Post raising our voices there was no sense of contrition on the part of the so called manager who was a Chinese kid from Kolkata. He gave us our bill and informed us that the main course was not charged for!! How immature, juvenile and unprofessional is that?! We appealed to the other patrons to indicate how the treatment has been with no concern for an old lady or a kid who were hungry.

We ordered drinks, soups and dim sums first. The orders took a fairly long time coming and then were delivered all at once - with the drinks delivered after the food and no sauces with the dim sums inspite of asking repeatedly. Totally unprofessional. The portions are the smallest I have seen in any Chinese place probably in the world - 2 dim sums per portion! Horribly overpriced. Quality of the soup was good, the rest of the dim sums are passable - not great and certainly not exceptional. We had no opportunity to sample the rest as by then the place had broken down and the amateur clowns running it had given up!
Umesh Kartari
friendly staff.good ambience.worth a visit.tried the dimsums mushroom claypot and the cantoniese rice the food had nice flavour and over all a pleasant experience
Aman Bhonsle
Honestly, I was a tad overwhelmed with just how perfect the food was out here! Delicious dim sums (squid ink & lamb ones) & small plates like the tossed Sichuan chicken were done to perfection. There is no other word to describe it. The Cantonese fried rice with chicken & egg was so good it needed nothing else with it. Their Mala Chicken was a revelation (spicy & yet beautifully balanced flavours). Their cocktails were excellent too. I came here on a first date & let’s just say that my date was pretty impressed with the place & she was satisfied with the meal. A fab experience & one I wouldn’t hesitate to repeat.

Saturday Nights are meant to be tight in terms of table availability, but to our luck, we got one within 50 mins. And well, the wait was worth the while.
Got a fine table at one corner of the restaurant. The ambience is way different from the outside. And by the name be that this restaurant goes by, it's more like a Kings escapade. Fine aesthetics complemented with fine crockery and cutlery made the first impression a great one. We were given 4 menu cards. One for wine and champagne, one for cocktails and hot drinks, another for food, and the final one for desserts. We ordered Spiced Route and Causway for Cocktails.
While Spiced Route was not what I expected, it was more like Oregano, weird enough, it was way too strong on the palette.
The Causway was a downer too, but it was far better than the Spiced Route.
Then went on to order starters, for which our serviceman changed. We were served by a fine gentleman, Rohan. A sweet, young and honest chap who helped us with our orders and guided us to satiate our palette. (We are more into the spicy notes, than anything else)
We then opted for the Chengou Chicken and the Tornado Potatoes.
The Chengou looked killer! The amount of chilies that was all over the plate was overwhelming. We thought we would just die! The thin slices of chicken that was mixed with those chunky chili pieces and spring onions looked more than just appetizing. The first bite made us both go - WOW.
Succulent slices that were oozing with flavor and spice just made our day.
The Tornado Potatoes was a disappointment, like the potato twisters that you get outside, it was oily, but were a good help for the strong alcohol.
We then went on to order the main course, and finally settled at Veg Hakka Noodles (spicy) and another delicious plate of Chengou Chicken. The combination was just brilliant! At this point in time, I was full to the brim, but Rohan did suggest us for dessert, unluckily the Colourcomb wasn't available. Though next time, Colourcomb and Zen is on the list!
All in all, it was a beautiful time. Just that the music was a too loud to hear the other person. Rest, it was a fine time spent here at Typhoon Shelter! Cheers to the good food and the service by Rohan - impeccable!
Vaibhav
Typhoon shelter has a really differant vibe and it gives you a feel of asian cuisine.they have a good variety of meat and seafood to offer.great hospitality by the staff SAGAR .
Thanks ones again......

A great fine dining restaurant with authentic Asian food. The ambience was really nice and the decor was super cozy! The staff was helpful and warm.
The food was realllyy delicious- you will not be disappointed.
It's a tad bit expensive but having Zomato gold privileges definitely help.

The place is wonderful. Food menu is well curated and dishes are a delight. Do try the lotus stem dish from starters.
Thanks Rohan for the great service.
Romit Machado
Great ambience. They have replicated a Chinese festival ambience. But its not overwhelming and there is high attention to detail. Music is soft and makes for a nice relaxing atmosphere. The booths are amazing.
Very Polite, helpful and friendly service team and management. The food is truly amazing. Pork baos... I'm still orgasming. They were just soo nicely flavoured and every bite felt heavenly. Tornado Potato & Flat rice Noodles with Lamb was very good too.
Overall I enjoyed the experience. Good for a a date :-)
Rima Chakravarty Sonde
It's a pretty place. We had the Chengdu chicken, which was more peppers than chicken, the dan dan noodles & chicken in mala gravy were ok & the kung pao prawn & Cantonese fried rice were great. However the best was the Zen which was really cool & even tasted good.
Jasdeep Kaur
Best Chinese restrictions ever I have been to. The best part of the restaurant is the projected sealing and the food is amazing ... Mr. Dharmesh is an excellent server who explain us the concept of the restaurant and the cuisine. And I love the chicken he suggested the chicken with lots of green and red chillies I forgot the name of the dish but that one is the best . Thanks to typhoon shelter we will be back soon .....
Brilliant ambience, brilliant food. A tad bit expensive but if you want to treat yourself once in a while, is worth the expense. The beef and pork dimsum and main course was fantastic. Do try the Dan Dan noodles for a pleasant surprise.

Great ambience, great food and great music. The only complain is have is the portion size. But otherwise a perfect place for amazing Asian and Chinese food.

“Typhoon shelter” at Lower Parel has the perfect decor. The ambience is impressive and the staff is immensely helpful. We tried the following:
Tempura Prawns: These were the highlight of the meal. The prawns were huge and as crispy as it could get.
Har Gau: The prawn dumplings had a nice thin coating and had some asparagus and bamboo shoot in the filling
Chengou Chicken: The chicken was tender and we enjoyed the Sichuan peppercorn infused sauce.
All in all we had an amazing meal here and would definitely visit is again. Plus this place also offers Zomato Gold privileges making it a plus point!

Despite being on the pricier side, the food is surprisingly good. The meat is tender and succulent. The rice may look simple but is rich in taste.
Selina Lobo
The food here is simply amazing. Each dish has a flavour of its own. Recommend the mixed seafood rice. Have been here thrice and will surely visit again.

Nice place good ambiance and service Food recommended was good. The dimsums with pomegranate is excellent. Portions are small. Mocktail with pomegranate was excellent. Stir fried vegetables in small plates is good a must try. Tofu in pepper sauce is must. Tofu is too good .Just melts in your mouth so soft. A must visit to this restaurant Main course was average As we are vegetarian

One of the best evenings spent at a #finedine restaurant @typhoonshelterind
Incredible food, incredible people and an increible ambience.
1. #zen - a 'peaceful' dessert of edible #vanilla #caramel and #hazelnut stones #camouflaged with real pebbles. 4/5 (.5 more if the pricetag was a wee-little low.. just saying)
2. #lotusroot #casinochips - fried lotusroots marinated with #smoked #honey (yes!) and #sesame - 4/5
3. #ruby #dumpling - the most #beautiful looking #dumpling i have seen! Made with #beetroot skin. - 4/5 tasted amazing!

Overall this is an amazing place to be! The staff was so helpful in making my #anniversary date truly perfect. I had the whole course preordered over the phone itself and set just how I wanted. That was commendable. 4.5/5 for Typhoon Shelter!
Pankaj Thadeshwar
Nice place and nice decor, enjoyed our vegetarian meal ,did my table reservation thru zomato which was quick and smooth.i also used zomato gold and got one dish free, food taste is good and good value for money and good service too.my only issue was that we ordered wine by the glass worth 750/- but the quantity was too less,I was told that it is 150ml but I am not sure, rest all in all good experience

This is a perfect date night place, though part of the adventure lies in finding this little place tucked away in a discreet corner of the Phoenix Mall. So, if you do end up here, no matter what you order, don’t miss ‘The Zen’, the most expensive dessert around, it’s worth every bit of your money spent on it. Also, the interesting plating of it will leave you a little more spellbound. Their seafood rice dish on the contrary seemed a lot more tame in comparison.
And apart from the gastronomical experience, the one area the place could really work on is their seating. The restaurant has tried to max the capacity of the place by putting seats really close to each other, so much so that it compromises on the comfort of the people seated.
Aditya Khandelwal
The place is a delight for your eyes as well as your tastebuds.. the restaurant offers a variety of asian dishes that are scrumptious...plus the ambience of the place is perfect for a lovely date or celebration...the wait staff is courteous and know the menu well. The place is a must try.

Ambience - 5/5

The decor makes you feel really cozy. They have multiple seating options including tables, booths, and a long and high community table of sorts.

Service - 5/5

Every need was catered to, every question answered, and every demand met. Our server, Rohan, deserves a special mention here. He was extremely sweet and polite without seeming disingenuous. He made some really good recommendations. He's probably one of the best servers in the city.

Food - 4.5/5

Red Braised Pork Belly Spring Rolls - Exquisite! Paired with the sweet one of the 3 dipping sauces present on the table, these crunchy spring rolls will leave you craving for seconds.

Succulent Lamb Crystal Ball - These little dumplings with their see-through shell were so tempting to look at. And they totally delivered on flavour.

Numb Numb Chicken - This dish is served as a slider using bo lo bao (a sweet bread) for the buns. This was my favourite dish of the night. It was sweet and a bit sour but in such a unique way.

Chengou Chicken - Simple, spicy wok tossed chicken. This was really yummy. The only reason I wouldn't recommend it is its flavour profile was quite similar to many wok tossed chicken dishes across Mumbai's Chinese restaurants.

Fun Fun 'Ho Fun' - Flat noodles. Compared to the flavour explosion I experienced with the appetisers, this dish felt a bit flat. That's not to say it was bad. The appetisers just raised the bar too high.

Colourcomb - Not a fan of this dessert. I did like some elements on it like the yoghurt sponge. I didn't like the cucumber granita or the very sticky praline. And while I could see why some people would like it, this one just wasn't for me.

Value for money - 4.5/5

While some of the dishes on the menu may seem unreasonably high, there are plenty of less expensive options that don't compromise on taste or quality. With zomato gold, you can definitely expect to have an amazing meal for a good price.

Score - 4.7/5

Typhoon Shelter has a really different vibe and it gives you a feel of the meteorological condition mentioned in its name cause the food will blow you away! Innovative Cantonese food. They have a great variety of meat and seafood to offer.

On my visit I tried the Tenderloin Springrolls, Spicy Chicken Balls, Spicy Tofu, Pomegranate Asparagus Dimsums & for dessert we had the Typhoon Shelter Special calked “Zen”! Omg it’s SO good! I don’t want to spoil the surprise for you so I won’t mention what they do but make sure you order it when you go there and trust me it’s worth they money! Ordered it twice 😍

Make a booking if going on a weekend. I had to wait 45 mins to get a table but it was worth the wait. The new year soup with crab and asparagus was really good. What I really liked were the seafood rice and the Kung pao prawns when very well with each other. The chicken lama was nice but the Kung pao out did it. I feel this is more of a drinking place and found the music a bit too loud. But nice interiors. Will come back again.

Great place for authentic Asian food.

The ambience is cozy and it has twin seating options - Chinese still booth / high seating.

The food is good. Great place to go if you want Oriental food in lower parel area.

For vegetarians they had limited options.
The place is also not very exciting to be honest.
The food is really okayish and a bit expensive.
I would recommend you to try the Tofu small place. It's like paneer chilly.

The orange sauce they serve is really good and spicy.
I had requested them to give me a red chilly sauce which they made. That was amazing with the noodles.

The lotus honey steams was also good.
The fried rice and the noodles were really good.

Must try - sake bomb

It had a great vibe and the ambience was pretty striking. Rohan was always at our service and he made sure we were being attended very well.
