Review Poh - Mumbai

Aakriti Sharma
Amazing place. The ambience is chic. The servers explain not only the order but the dish as well.. not just the food even the experience is one of a kind. It gives a modern twist to classic oriental dishes and brings in new cooking techniques. Loved the sushi and the desserts. The place was full even on a weekday. As its located in kamla mills very convenient to reach. A big thumbs up !

We picked this place randomly out of the many in the vicinity and went in without much expectations. We had 3 different types of Sushi and all of them were delicious. The Dumplings were very good too. They have a really good drinks menu covering pretty much all sorts of drinks and their food menu is very different from the typical oriental restaurants. A little bit on the expensive side but it's well worth it if you're with friends or family. Amazing experience overall. Will definitely recommend to others as well as visit again.

Are you a Harry Potter fan? Do you belong to House Slytherin? Do you yearn to visit the Leaky Cauldron? Are you a fan of the color green? If your answer is yes to even one of these questions, then POH is the perfect ambiance for you. Words fail to describe how much I love the decor of this place. The bar area is beautifully decorated with artificial flowers. The dining area has coordinated lamps that emit a shade of emerald green. Even if you don't have a reservation, it doesn't take long to get a seating here. We also loved the plates that were kept at our table. We just had two dishes and I highly recommend both. The Steamed Fresh Tofu in Chili Basil Sauce comes in an actual cauldron. This certainly lets you live your Leaky Cauldron dreams. The tofu goes well with the slightly spicy broth. This main dish is very filling on its own. We also had the Tofu and Greens Ramen bowl. While this isn't the most authentic Japanese bowl of ramen, I loved the spicy miso broth. The noodles were al dente and the vegetables went well with the entire dish. Along with this, we were initially served a complimentary amuse-bouche. I have no clue what exactly this appetizer was but it was amazing. It did whet our appetite for our impending meal. The star feature of POH is the service. The service is impeccable. Every server was amazing. They even occasionally asked if we were enjoying our meal. Every person had a smile on their face and were happy to be there. I wish the service was like this in every restaurant. POH is a unique emerald gem in the heart of Lower Parel. I highly recommend this place and can't wait to head there and sample their entire menu.

At POH you can experience 5 star quality food and service at 4 star prices. It's a cozy 40 seater restaurant with contemporary ambience. Vegetarian and Jain friendly menu. The edmame truffle dim sums are a must try. Although this was not on the Jain menu, the chef was kind enough to make the sauces for the dim sum without garlic. From the main course you have to try the wasabi fried rice with the yellow spinach curry. Desserts looked better than they tasted. But the overall experience is worth every 🌟!

Oh POH! POH means Progressive oriental House which hosts great Asian food catering to the fine dine experience Where : Kamala Mills Cost : ₹3000 / ₹3500 for two Cuisine : Asian Reservations recommended Type : Fine Dining Serves Veg and Non Veg They do not levy service charge POH is an avant- garde gourmet experience that showcase a progression of Asian flavours , Aromas and texture to suit the evolving palate and dining culture A product of crafted techniques such as hot and cold pressing, sous vide cooking , dehydration and lyophilisation . We went for the lunch menu @₹999 which is an absolute steal deal as the food is FAB and how ! The lunch meal consists of 1. Soup of the day - We had a tofu with soya based purée 2. House green salad - Loved it as was refreshing and the sauce was great ! 3. DIMSUM of the day - It was another great DIMSUM . 4. Thai set - So you can choose which you want. Since we were two, we chose Thai and Teppanyaki . The Thai Set was absolutely delicious with green Thai curry served with jasmine rice . 5. Teppanyaki - This was more on the spicier and tastier side with good vegetables sautéed served with amazing fried rice. The rice was super delicious . Both the dishes were served with stir fried vegetables . 6. Dessert of the day was Icecream . It was refreshing and smooth end to the meal ! We were all full ! But we had to try two additional desserts (not a part of the lunch menu) A. Caramel pecan nuts honey wasabi Icecream : The tart and everything with it was just scintillating as there was every flavour involved from sweet to salty to smooth Icecream . B. POhs mess yoghurt textures of fruits : We liked this a bit less as we are chocolate lovers. But the presentation nailed it . Staff : The staff is warm . Also Mithun, our server was sweet. Overall we had great experience. The lunch menu is only from Mon - Friday !

POH- Progressive Oriental House Long Review Alert!!! ❖ Location- “Kamala Mills” of Mumbai, says everything.(5/5) ❖ Ambience- Creates wow factor as soon as you enter inside the restaurant. Not a huge place but good enough to cater good amount of guests. One side has long bar where bartenders were making fancy cocktails. Bar has bar chairs and saw many guests preferred sitting there. Table set up was perfect and giving a feel of true fine dine restaurant. They have one sushi section, make to order. I was really impressed with the interiors they have done. Lighting, sitting, walls everything was really top class. Got one small private dining table, say for 6-8 guests. (4.5/5) ❖ Service/Staff- Highly impressed with the standard of service they have maintained. I mean never seen such a high standards of service in a restaurant industry. Staff was ever helping, they had microphones so they were talking to each other for a really quick and impressive service.(5/5) ❖ Food and Beverage- Coming to main part of the restaurant, as ambience and service were perfect food and beverage section was not left behind. Now days especially in Mumbai, alternate restaurant which opensserves oriental food but POH is class apart. Beverages were nice, didn’t try them many though. Had classical whisky sour which was served perfectly. Food menu is really classy, gives a perfect feel of dine fine food. Fewof the dishes were just truly amazing and can say out of the box types.(4.5/5) • CRISPY BANANA BLOSSOM SALAD WITH TAMARINF GLAZE (Salad) - A perfect start to the meal with the most eye appealing dish of POH. Sweetish but chunky mashed potatoes topped with good amount of crispy fried onions, banana flowers, peanuts and fried coconut slices. It was really eye appealing but not as satisfying as I thought it would be to my palate.(4/5) • YELLOW BEAN GLAZED PRAWNS (Starter) -Again a very nicely plated dish I must say. A jumbo prawns cooked in a thick spices sauce along with yellow beans and served with de hydrated pineapple slice, citrus gel and tomato powder. Simplydelicious, a must order dish.(5/5) • SCALLOP CARPACCIO (Starter) - Carpaccio of scallops (thinly sliced scallops) topped with green curry butter and finished with beetroot and garlic crisp. A stunning European type dish twisted in oriental food. A must order.(5/5) • CRAB CAKES (Starter) - Superbly presented dish, Crab meat coated with milk, garlic flavoured corn flake crumbs and then baked. Served with fresh arugula salad (dressed with yuzu soy) and jalapeno tartar sauce. Chef created crab shape texture in the middle of the plate with mustard powder. Crab was soft and really delicious. Strongly Recommended.(5/5) • LAMB FOIE GRAS GYOZA(Starter)- pan seared dumpling stuffed with lamb foie gras/9/made with lamb liver) and served along with chickpeas mash, green peas puree finished with sweet madras onionsand black pepper powder. Gyoza wasn’t chewy after searing and filling inside it was literally melting in the mouth.(5/5) • LAMB SHANKS MASSAMAN CURRY(Main course)- A southern Thai curry made with coconut cream, tamarind, fish sauce along with slow cooked lamb shanks and topped with crushed peanuts finally garnished with spring onion sprig. Always been a fan of lamb shank so it was really perfect for me.(5/5) • KERALA FRIED RICE (Main course) - Red rice cooked with edame beans and good amount of garlic to give the perfect balanced starch dish. Short grain rice was a perfect choice by chef and went excellent with massaman curry.(4.5/5) • CARAMEL AND CHOCOLATE- A delicious chocolate tart topped with pecan nut, rock salt along and rose petal served with caramel syrup and wasabi honey ice cream. Absolutely stunning, chocolate tart was so smooth to the palate and wasabi honey ice cream was really out of the world, spicy and pungentness was balanced perfectly with the honey. A must try dish friends.(5/5)

Progressive Oriental House, popularly known as POH, is located at Kamala Mills and as the name suggests, the place showcases a progression of Asian flavours aromas and delicacies you would have never had before or even thought of! It is difficult to explain how amazed I was with overall gourmet experience in front of my eyes. We started with the Palette Cleanser Amuse Bouche - couple of them and also Edamame to begin with. The way they were presented simply beautiful. Do check out my pictures followed by this review to understand. Red Cabbage Gazpacho - (Super Dish) Mustard Ice-cream with cucumber pickle with cold cabbage soup poured from the side. When mixed and had together, it just tasted amazing. Tomato : Different Elements of Them - (Super Dish) While presenting the dish, the server asked me to specifically take a picture of this. I asked why, but she said can't be disclosed. And it will be a surprise. That made me curious. It was Homemade Soya Milk chunk, Parmesan Crisp, Hint of Truffle Oil with candid olives. The presentation of the dish was beautiful. (I will keep writing this again and again, so apologies in advance) Herbed Pointed Gourd - Stuffed Pointed Gourd (Parwal in Hindi) wrapped with Vermicelli Rice Sheet with herbs, Fresh Mango and Fermented Black Beans sauce around it, with citrus gels around and pickle chalots. I am not a Gourd fan, but the dish tasted yum when all ingredients were mixed together. Bottle Gourd - Guacamole Avocado, Lemon Curd with Obratto (mix of starch and honey) topped with Chilli Oil. Unique dish, beautiful presentation, tasted very different from the previous dish. Tofu - (Super Dish) This dish had the base of Citrus Sauce - Fresh Orange, mandira and lemon juice. Has a layer of Truffle Bechamel Sauce. Then the main layer of Tofu with Seasoning topped with activated coconut charcoal garnished with Crispy Udon Noodle! (Phew! - let me take a breath) Amazing, yummy, delicious! Cauliflower - Roasted Cauliflower with Raisins, Poached Green Apple, Sichuan Pepper with Chilli Oil emulsion. Not a big fan of cauliflower, but beautifully presented dish. Our Ratatouille - (Favorite Dish) By reading Ratatouille, you will be taken aback, how come this in an Asian cuisine. But this is the POH version of the dish. Clove Tomato (spiced version), smoked eggplant mash, wrapped with Zucchini Cucumber and Carrots. Amazing dish, by far the best one for me! Eggplant - Poached Eggplant, topped with Olive Slices and Powder, Truffle Jus with 3 different emulsion - Almond, Wasabi and Pepper. On the side, there is Grilled Candid Leeks with Almond Slice. Sounds exotic, looks exotic, tastes exotic. Pakchoy Water Chestnut - Very Interesting dish those who like Thai dishes would definitely like this! Pakchoy has an edible bone made of flower topped with Penang Curry.  We were also served with Steamed Pineapple Rice - presented amazingly well. Where the rice is steamed in an actual pineapple. Cut the top in front of you and you get the amazing aroma of Pineapple flavored rice. Finally, for desserts, sharing plates were served - Tomato - (Awesome! How?) There was our surprise, slipped in so well. Looked exactly like Tomato dish, but with complete different ingredients. Home made Soya Milk was replaced with Sweet Mozarella, with sweet tomato gel. Parmesan crisp was replaced with Caramel Crisp. Was amazed how the dish can look exactly the same but is completely a different dish. Awesome! Lychees - (Super Dessert) From the Antartica, different textures of Lychees. Tasted amazing! Banana - (Unique) See the picture! On seeing the dessert, you would feel that the Yellow part would be banana, but it is not. It is Mango and Coconut pudding. The black part needs to be pealed and there you will find the sweet banana with spiced Jus. Finally, an awesome bespoke experience at POH, one which will stay in my memory for a long period of time.

A fine dine with amazing presentation and tasty food. Loved the hospitality also. We ordered the asparagus tempura roll. It is a must order. The california rolls were okay. Avoidable. Loved the dimsums We had the edamame truffle dimsums. They were amazing. In the mains i would definitely recommend you to order the Japanese blue rice. They were amazing. Must order. Even order for the Burmese khao suey. For the desert we ordered the rose penacota icecream. It was amazing. Arvind was serving us and was a great help to decide our order.
Siddhanth Lath
The sushi was great, dimsums were good and food presentation was top notch! The eel nigiri sushi and black cod miso were outstanding. Overall the ambience is good, food is good but comes at a hefty price.

Excellent food and presentation. Worth the cost (if you are on gold)

Lobster appetiser was exceptional, but the rest was more style than flavor. No hot soups, which was looking forward to
Rajesh Mulchandani
POH chef Vikram and host manager Anurodh have created what I can proudly say India and surely Mumbai, S finest eatery. The food is superbly curated and the chefs dessert eat off the table is like a poetry Well. Done guys. Keep it up You guys are the best in town

Our first experience of food is; how it looks, then, how it smells and finally, how it tastes. Whatever the occasion, you will not be disappointed so book your table now.

Been a fan of Chef Vikramjit since a long time. His team and him are everything the indian food scene was missing..

Their deserts were very disappointing. Looked very appealing but taste wise very below average
Foodforthought!
At first I was hesitant to try Asian cuisine, but this place changed my opinion. To start with, ambience was very pleasant and classy. Service was very prompt & polite. We had Tom yum soup & Asparagus croissant, which were amazing and very different. Am not much of a dimsum person, but Spinach dimsums were nice, although I feel chicken dimsums would have tasted better! Definitely gonna visit this place again to have them!

The ambience and courteous staff of this place is what will call you over and over again. I personally loved the way I was treated at this amazing pan Asian restaurant. The food however just couldn’t keep up of one of two reasons: <br/>1) the service and staff just put your expectations on another level<br/>2) the ingredients could have been utilised in a better way<br/>I ordered a bowl of ramen, which to my knowledge of Japanese food (and I love Japanese food) didn’t quite stand up. The noodles were rubbery the broth could have been more flavourful, there was not any dashi present, the nori tasted like plastic. The water chestnut dumpling was an exciting experience. The edamame dumplings, however, was a disappointing experience.<br/><br/>But a visit for sure, for the experience and ambiance. Novice Japanese food lovers, give it a go!
Jags
Average to a bit disappointing..small portions...delayed servings despite being only 30% occupied..food was average and pricing too high to march the quality..best avoided.
Sameer Tandon
Good place for Asian food, ambience is very nice gives a very royal feeling once you enter the place. Recommended by a friend i tried sushi for the first time here and it was delicious. We also ordered ramen soup which was not that great. Staff is very friendly and always greet you with a smile on their face. Pricing is slightly on the higher side being in kamla mills compound but overall the experience was great.
Pawar.d.pranay
Loved the location and food ..desserts are simply wonderful...unfortunately the restaurant will be shift from Kamala mills to Powai....hopefully the taste will remain the same.

A great oriental place. We happened to visit it for an office lunch and opted for a buffet. Tepanyaki, Chinese and Thai are the options available in the set menu. A welcome starter is served when you start. Next is a lovely spicy tomato soup. Dim sums next, followed by a mouth watering salad. Main course was the best part with brown rice and tofu in veg. The ambience is quiet and the staff is quite sweet. A must visit place

Both the food and drinks were great and are pocket friendly. Not too expensive. Loved one dessert and finished it in no time. The second one was some frozen yogurt, dint like it too much but my friend liked it. The cutlery is creative. The staff is polite making it a super experience overall to enjoy food and a good time with friends and family. Have already decided to visit again.

Looking for some amazing oreintal food, POH is the place to be! We were lucky to find a table after some waiting on a Sunday evening. The ambience is very pretty! The staff and servers were courteous. The blue jasmine fried rice and mixed vegetable hotpot tasted great. The curry had less vegetables though but was valuw for money. Thank you for a nice experience!
Hemant Mehta
Great place with a great ambiance and vibe! The sushi rolls are simply lip smacking. The service is amazing and the person waiting on us even explained the story behind the playing and presentation of every dish. We tried two appetisers and both were simply mind blowing. A must try for anyone visiting Kamala Mills.

Worst experience ever had... The food quantity is too less and initially i told them as am going to use zomato gold and ordered 2 dishes and at the time of bill they said one of the dish ordered you cant take zomato gold benefit, that thing they should have told initially while i placed order, even though i had mentioned as am going to use zomato gold asa i entered the resturant than too they did that deliberately ... All these are tactics of harassing customers.

Located at kamla Mills which was a bit difficult for us to get there since we got in from another entrance and after a lot of two and fro we reached the restaurant. Totally worth the effort of getting there. Great food, extremely friendly staff. Would definitely recommend to people who like Asian food.<br/>Going back for sure!

We visited POH while it is in its last few days at kamla and soon shifting to Pawai. The food was okay..expected better. They barely had any wine to select from nor did they have diet Coke I guess they were in shut down mode. The sushi was very bad. We ordered a couple of variety but it's was very sad , which is surprising from POH . The lotus stem was amazing and so was the teppanyaki chicken. The prawns in yellow bean sauce was also pretty ok.. the prawns are hard and chewy. The khousuey and nasi goreng was good . Final goodbye to poh but honestly wont miss you
Akanksha Bansal
Super Asian food suited for Indian palette<br/><br/>We ordered STEWED PRAWNS and STEAMED BASA along with WASABI FRIED RICE.. Prawns were quite savoury as the preparation was with all sorts of spices and sauces that gave it a tangy taste and it went perfectly well with the fried rice.<br/><br/>Steamed basa was served in soy sauce however the portion size of this dish was a little disappointing as it is not accompanied with anything at all so it is almost an incomplete main..<br/><br/>Wasabi fried rice wasn't spicy at all unlike the name I felt that it will have a strong after taste of wasabi but it didn't and yet we loved it..<br/><br/>Service was quick and prompt. As I went on a weekday for lunch, there was hardly any rush and I enjoyed all the attention of their courteous staff.<br/><br/>I could avail the benefits of Zomato Gold however the same was not applicable on their special menu which included sushi and few other items.
Vratika
I loved the ambience. I loved the food! I absolutely loved their dessert 😍 <br/>I had sushi, pad Thai noodles , khaosuey and The rose. <br/>Staff was polite and and I would recommended you guys to visit this place
Yash M Shah
The sushi didn’t have Zomato gold which fine as they have described it as special menu. But the sushi were really small and didn’t taste that great. I would really give them a second chance for the sushi. The dim sums were also above average and can be done better. Main course was really good and we enjoyed the service and the hospitality. I think they should work on the desserts as well. Overall try it once and I would suggest the restaurant keeps a feedback card for them to know what can be improved. The service wasn’t an issue as it was a dry day and the crowd was less but with the location the restaurant has they should really work on the food and they can do wonders.
Preethi Ramaswamy
Very nice ambience and a very interesting menu with great presentation. Helpful and friendly staff adds to the charm of the place! Overall a great evening spent!

The service was very good and miss shraddha was very helpful and very calm and patient as we were with four kids with different likings. She was kind enough to assist us with food choices.<br/>I would recommend it for everyone .The portion sizes were sufficient also.<br/>

We chances upon this place after visiting Smaash. The ambiance was very good, service very friendly, menu comprehensive, and food delicious! The menu was a mix of Japanese and Thai, with sushi and Thai curries. We went with their recommendation of vegetable hot pot and blue jasmine rice. The chicken ramen, noodles, tempura, and edamame were all good. It is very kid friendly and noodles were made per requirement. Dessert options were also good. We wanted to try the Jackson Pollock dessert but we were too full. I highly recommend this restaurant. I am surprised that it’s not more full of people. The bill came up to 5,000, so it was pricey but definitely worth it. I am happy to see a variety of food in India with amazing ambiance. Everything was well thought-out including plates and serving style. The bathrooms were very clean too.

Wanted to Visit this place in a while and Date Night took us here. We were lucky to get a reservation at the last minute but as we entered we found the place quite empty..filled up only at around 9.30.<br/><br/>The ambience of the place was quite nice. Waiters were courteous and service was very quick and prompt.<br/><br/>Coming to the meal. Each course started with a nice pallet cleanser.(1st and 4th photos)<br/><br/>Appetizers:<br/>- Spicy Avocado Roll: Sushi Roll was nice and shld be tried.<br/>- Spicy Crabmeat Dumplings: The dish was beautiful to look at and equally tasty. Crabmeat stuffing was good and the Dumplings were accompanied with a nice sauce giving it the added punch.<br/><br/>Main Course:<br/>- Chicken with fermented chilli cashewnut with stir fried noodles: The Chicken was really tasty. Again had a nice spicyness to the dish. With the Noodles it went well. Only negative was that the chicken had a lot of black pepper which spoiled the taste at time.<br/><br/>Drink: Minty Lemonade: Nice and refreshing in the Bombay heat. A must try.<br/><br/>Overall a great experience and restaurant to visit.<br/><br/>Happy Eating!!

Poh has fantastic food and presentation. Each dish was unique and was very impressed with the palate cleansers that come between each course.<br/>We had tepyanki chicken, celery infused chicken and lamb. Which were all very different and delicious.<br/>For main course we had braised chicken with shitake mushroom, chicken with fermented chilli and wasabi rice. It is very difficult to say which was the stand out dish but the wasabi rice was something I had never had before and it was delicious. You can eat it without mixing anything with it. I would rate this place 5/5. Hopefully your experience will be as successful as mine. Check this place out. Decor and service is upto the mark too.

Went here a couple of nights ago. What a beautiful place. A great ambiance and so nicely done up.<br/><br/>We ordered wok chilli fish and Nasi Goreng. Both the dishes were extremely well-made and had really quantity. The service is top-notch. This place is not just aesthetic, but also has great food and service. Do visit. They also served us a complementary introductory dish. Would highly recommend.

Some really good oriental cuisine. Absolutely in love with the ambience. Its ideal for family and corporate meetings too. I tried the blue jasmine rice for the first time. And it was really better than my expectations. I would love to visit again. Highly recommended for its food and staff service.

Absolutely perfect place for friends and family fancy getaway.<br/><br/>Cozy Japanese ambiance eco friendly decors and humble staff. We were hosted by Shraddha and she was extremely good explaining and helping us with our menu.😊<br/><br/>The food was nice too! We started with Avocado Tacos. It was good stuffed with lot of veggies & avocado paste in beetroot tacos, kind of chatpatta Chat. Gets 4/5.<br/><br/>Poached chicken dumplings was decent not that great. Gets 3/5.<br/><br/>Asparagus tempura basically a sushi which was mind blowing. Gets 5/5.<br/><br/>I was very fascinated with Japanese style Blue Fried Rice in the pictures of this on social media. So decided to order this Blue jasmine Fried Rice. To my surprise this rice totally lacked jasmine flavour, what I could taste was only garlic, even though the rice tasted good yet no justice done to its name & sort of disappointing. Gets 3.5/5.<br/><br/>Now come the best part of the meal and that’s dessert! We ordered some big name dessert I hardly remember the name, please excuse me for that. But to what I recollect it was some dark chocolate truffle pastry with wasabi ice-cream and that was spectacular. Gets 5/5.<br/><br/>Over all good. But I felt it’s way overpriced for the food and quantity they serve.

One of the best Pan-Asian restaurants I have ever been to. Amazing food, very unique. The service is outstanding. A must-try restaurant. Please do try the Blue Jasmine Rice and Rose Desserts. Incredible Hospitality.

Superb place with delicious food and amazing ambience. We order for wonton, wasabi rice and pad Thai noodles. The portions were apt for 4 people. A must to try place if you are in kamala mills and want to have authentic Japanese food.

After I stand up night my friend & I were on the lookout for a sushi place & Zomato suggested this one! A quick call on a Sunday evening & they were gracious enough to hold a table for us. We were greeted with a big smile & a comfortable table! Avocado tacos, California Sushi, spicy avocado sushi & chicken khao suey was what we chose. By far one of the BEST sushi I’ve had & the khao suey was what books are written about! The food is great! The captain mithun was well versed with the favourites & on his suggestion we finished off our meal with the deconstructed banana dessert & I chose the wasabi honey ice cream & chocolate caramel cake.! Both were delicious! The deconstructed banana 6 ways was such a great surprise. The wasabi honey ice cream had the right balance. All in all the bill came up to 4000 for the 2 of us using Zomato gold one on one food & was worth every penny! A special special mention to the chef Sujit who whipped up 8 pieces of sushi even after the last order was taken & they were closing! Absolutely sweet of him to not refuse! <br/>The people made the experience great but the food is truly the super hero of the place.! A must visit for the food or just pop in & say hello to the staff.

We have always had a great experience at this place.<br/>1. The staff is extremely knowledgable, helpful and polite which sets this place apart from most of the places.<br/>2. The Crystal Lobster Dumpling and Veg Japanese Wheat Noodle (slightly spicy) were good and are highly recommended.<br/>3. Even though the food and service is of fine dining, it is not a snooty place.<br/><br/>It is always a pleasure to visit this place.
Kunal Hendre
Very disappointing, extremely bad food. Service was just fine. Need to work on the menu all over again. Need to work on food throughly if this place has to compete with others in the same vicinity

Hmmmmmm ... that’s how I feel about my food experience here last night ... lacklustre...<br/><br/>tried 3 types of Sushi (seafood) ... all lacking that refreshing sushi experience... instead just felt heavy on the palate and wanting in freshness .. <br/><br/>Ordered the veg and chicken Khao suey ... thick luscious gravy which had enjoyable flavours on its own, but lacked a much needed crunch (to cut through the thickness of the gravy) and the usual experience of a bowl of khao suey which comes with all its accompaniments that was oddly missing in their version ...<br/><br/>Being tad too disappointed with this, my friends did not want to venture into trying the desserts ...<br/><br/>Also kinda limited menu choices, not befitting the name “Progressive” Oriental House. I expected the drama of the “progressive”, but on the menu were very common place choices and no innovations. Funnily it came to light to me when I was told by one of the friendly managers that their menu can be a little confusing to read/understand incase I needed help ... quite the contrary ...<br/><br/>Ambience was okay, though personally for my friends and I the green lamps were too jarring ... <br/><br/>Service was friendly and impeccable... they even got us some peanuts and fried noodles on request to sorta complete our incomplete khao suey experience ... and really liked the welcome gesture of the half plate and the amuse bouche completing the other half ...<br/><br/>All in all an eh-meh food experience with great service ..<br/>

The food here looks wayyyyyy better than it actually tastes. 😢 really sad. Came here with high expectations but the food was terrible. Service was good. Don’t recommend it.

POH in Lower Parel is one of the most luxurious and posh place for authentic Chinese cuisine. I have never seen such kind of interiors and ambiance in a pan asian restaurant. It’s just too good.<br/><br/>The presentation is way better than what you call is perfect. I’m really short of words while describing this place.<br/><br/>So do try it out and take that feel of a luxurious pan asian restaurant.

I had one seasonal dim sum and one legacy ice tea, i liked the mushroom taste here and the dim sum layer was also not very thick, ice tea was good and quite helpful in summer. I also liked the classy ambience and the staff is also very good and helpful.

This place really has my heart. The ambiance this place has is what no one can ever imagine. What an AMAZING place! We had not planned to go here and just happened to be in the area and thought to try it out. Turned out to be one of the best decisions. Such good food and presentation, all dishes out by a humble modest Chef, most creative I should say. The staff was very polite and courteous. Right from the time you enter their premises till you leave, you are the most special person to them. Be it from steward to the waiter to the juniors, all are so efficiently trained. All the food and dessert we had were special! I strongly recommend this place.
Ananya Sharan
The ambiance, the food and drinks were great. The only issue was the service they were a little slow. But the highlight was the food especially the pork belly and the blue rice. The pad thailand was better than most of the pad thai i have had in mumbai. The ambiance is good and the music wasn't over powering. All around a good place to have a quite dinner with family or friends.

Progressive Oriental house at its best.<br/><br/>Yes, POH lower parel is certainly one of the best Pan Asian restaurant in Mumbai.<br/><br/>I happened to visit this place on Saturday night and frankly speaking it was way more than what I expected.<br/>The place was mesmerising. Visited for a private gathering for dinner hosted by our office.<br/><br/>Service quality and staff courtesy is 5 star. Perfect.<br/><br/>Food was just amazing. Starters good, main course way too much good.<br/><br/>Had a sea bass dish and frankly speaking it was mesmerising. The lamb dish was tasty and very well cooked. Chicken dish was top notch.<br/><br/>Some recommended dishes are:<br/><br/>1. Shitake Mushroom<br/>2. Veg tacos<br/>3. Chicken dumplings<br/>4. Prawns starter with beet root.<br/><br/>They’ve a good variety of starters as well. <br/><br/>A good point, the ambience is very good. <br/><br/>Music is perfectly played. Not blaring loud at all. Talking on table so comfortable even though sitting a distance away. Thumbs up to this.<br/><br/>This place is must for all. <br/>Just so good. You’ll love it for sure.<br/><br/>PERFECT! 5/5

The staff is very courteous and offer prompt service and the food of this place is outstanding. Since the place is quiete well known for momos, I had to give them a try. The Thai grilled chicken salad has pomegranate and lotus root whereas Seafood soup is worth the try. I also tried lamb and chive dumplings, spicy salmon sushi, tobiko sashmi and prawn tempura.

Was very delighted by the hospitality. Staff is very well informed and help you with proper food pairing. Ambience tends to grow on you, at first it looks dull and boring but then little things start to come alive. Food is the main hero, everything tasted wonderful... right from avacado tacos to sushi to khowsuey. I’m definitely coming back.

Always wanted to visit this amazing place. Kamala mills is never a bummer. What an amazing place<br/><br/>Zomato gold is such an advantage here<br/>Super amazing dimsums<br/>And the ambience is good too.
Raghu Venkatraman
Mumbai has a surfeit of these upmarket places. They look good, have very attentive service but the food is extremely meh. Poh unfortunately falls into this category. Tried a variety of dishes but bar one nothing else stood out. The only stand out dish was the lamb massaman which was done just right. The drinks were also inconsistent. The first round was good but the second round of cocktails had to be sent back for correction
Rajiv.ewc
Great Food and super friendly staff.<br/>Jasmine rice is a must have. Dimsums are just awesome and so are the sushis.<br/>Don't miss the deserts. They are actually pieces of art.

Happened to go again for my Sunday brunch. <br/>They don’t have any fixed menu for the brunch, so basically you can order ala carte.<br/>Food- 4/5<br/>Ordered - spicy shiitake sushi <br/>Blue rice with Thai curry <br/>Avocado tacos <br/>Ambience -4/5<br/>Cocktails -5/5 <br/>Loved there cocktails <br/>Ordered for the dessert( don’t really remember the name but I have attached picture) which looked amazing but didn’t really appeal a lot in taste.<br/>

Had a great Friday night here with amazing Asian food. Started our meal with poached chicken dimsums. Absolutely delicious. Spinach dimsums were disappointing. Crab cakes were also tasty. Thai noodles were the best ever. A little spicy though. Overall good experience

Dined here on my birthday and I'd say it was definitely fit for a birthday meal! The menu is well written with a lot of varieties in both sweet and sweet. The servers were well informed and answered all our questions with ease. The ambiance was intimate, adorned with hues of green and brown and finished with marble. The food was served in quirky dinnerware which enhanced the experience. We were started off with an amuse bouche to kick start out appetite, the chicken and shrimp tortellini, shiitake mushroom and cumin lamb as appetizers and then proceeded with the seabass and lamb massaman curry for entrees.Lovely choices for dessert too. POH is a must visit and worthy of all the praise.

The staff was friendly, no doubts. But at the same time they were selling BS.<br/>We were told that the dishes that are "specials" wont be under zomato gold.<br/>And guess wat? The whole menu was under specials.<br/>Then the manager tried to give us some jackshit that they import the ingredients for sushi from japan and black sheep (the sushis were damn average)<br/>Then the gentleman tried to sell why he has kept zomato gold by saying u can avail them in desert as their deserts are "costly"<br/>Even the management think they r overpriced😂.<br/>Well I made a mistake going to this place🙋‍♂️ (although my company was awesome so never mind)<br/><br/>Wanna go to a much better place? Go to Umame in churchgate or Pa Pa Ya in colaba. No layered promises and best asian food❤ (even if the ingredients might not be from japan😂)

The place is the following:<br/>- Food: Absolutely Brilliant<br/>- Hygiene: Very Clean<br/>- Service: Crisp and Attentive<br/>- Ambience: Nice and Classy<br/>- Overall Experience: Great<br/><br/>ADVICE TO CUSTOMERS<br/>- Try the packchoy & waterchestnut dumplings or the Poached chicken dumplings, they are both great choices for dumplings.<br/>- Do try the braised chicken and shitake dish with stir fried noodles or try the mixed vegetables in hot pot sauce. They are again, amazing<br/><br/>ADVICE TO MANAGEMENT<br/>- Great work, try to maintain this.<br/><br/>This place is very good and I highly recommend it

One of the best places to have sushi. Had a great time at POH with my family. The food is just amazing. Sushi is the best. The decor is amazing. They have unique plates and the service is super fast. It was in all a great experience. Loved it.
Convey2moon
Asparagus tempura sushi and pad Thai noodles is what we hogged on. Best pad Thai noodles I ever had and the presentation was eye catching. Loved the way the food was plated on a very unique crockery. POH isn’t just an eatery it’s an experience.

Love the sushi and dimsum options! One of my favourite Oriental restaurants in Mumbai. Some of the desserts are really good as well and include some theatrics as well. Overall, lovely experience.

Must visit for Asian food lovers . Impeccable customer centricity and value for guests is what Poh speaks out aloud. Keep it up and I'm definitely coming back for the lip smacking food & luxe dessert The Rose 😊 Special mention for the well trained staff led by Mr. Shubham, truly appreciate the efforts Team Poh takes to make our supper truly memorable.

One of the best meals I've had in the longest time. We ordered the :<br/><br/>Chili Bean Basa<br/>Shrimp Tempura<br/>Edamame Dumplings<br/>Blue Jasmine Rice<br/>Braised Chicken<br/>The Rose<br/><br/>The food was subtle yet flavourful and the service was excellent. Shubham and the entire team were extremely hospitable and warm.<br/><br/>Definitely returning soon!<br/>

A fine dine with amazing presentation and tasty food. Loved the hospitality also.<br/>We ordered the asparagus tempura roll. It is a must order.<br/>The california rolls were okay. Avoidable.<br/>Loved the dimsums<br/>We had the edamame truffle dimsums. They were amazing.<br/><br/>In the mains i would definitely recommend you to order the Japanese blue rice.<br/>They were amazing. Must order.<br/>Even order for the Burmese khao suey.<br/><br/>For the desert we ordered the rose penacota icecream. It was amazing.<br/><br/>Arvind was serving us and was a great help to decide our order.

This place was a huge let down in terms of food. Fancy ambience and plating but disappointing quality of food and portion size. Pretty steep on the pockets too.<br/>Our order<br/>1) textured avocado roll - too bland and unassuming<br/>2) Asparagus tempura sushi - average<br/>3) Smoked water chestnut tortellini - blaaah<br/>4) Pinacolada - way too sweet<br/><br/>We left after 3 starters as we were pretty hungry and the portions were abysmal.<br/>Not to diss this place, but they could definitely improve the quality and quantity of food rather than laying so much emphasis on plating.

After a lot of mixed reviews, I finally ended up going here, and I came out with a smile on my tummy, lovely food, great service and super presentation, people who dislike Asian should go here, they will start liking it. The ambience is super chilled out, ideal for group dine outs only cos I feel you can order more stuff.<br/>Cheers and have a good meal

Craving for authentic pan Asian fare brought me here and POH didn't disappoint. The ambience service and rates are befitting a fine dine.<br/><br/>Starters<br/>We got a bite sized portion of a starter (can't recall the name) served in a fancy way which was impressive.<br/><br/>Crispy lotus stem: The lotus stem was glazed with a sweet chilli sauce and topped with pepper. Brought back memories of peppy but the pairing with the citrus soya cream made for a great combination.<br/><br/>Textured roll: This was a refreshing take on sushi where the outer covering was avocado paste instead of the usual rice coating. It was filled with asparagus, cucumber and cream cheese and was served with spicy mayo in place of Wasabi. Recommended for sushi lovers.<br/><br/>Mains<br/>Veg hot pot: This was a mix of Chinese veggies in a mapo sort of sauce. Recommended by the waiter and tasted well.<br/><br/>Blue jasmine fried rice: This is the new fad and was recommended by our waiter. The colour is natural and is lent by a flower with blue petals. The taste was similar to fried rice and is worth trying once.<br/><br/>Food: 5/5<br/>Ambience: 4.5/5<br/>Service: 5/5<br/>Value for money: 4.5/5<br/><br/>Final verdict: POH for it!<br/>

An experience is what I call it. ..<br/><br/>I went with my daughter(7) and niece (17)...Both with different taste buds..and it's difficult for me at a restaurant like this to ensure they enjoi, but I am obliged with the service I received from the Manager from selecting the place to sit to what to eat and teach my daughter how to eat with chopsticks...A service that delights you more than the food...I missed to even ask his name..<br/><br/>Now food , as suggested we ordered chicken stew croissant twice on public demand, lotus stem perfect blends, tender rolls asparagus shrimp (perfect for my taste) we demanded to try one and ofcourse the kids didn't like it.. All this cooked to perfection<br/><br/>In mocktails mint lemonade and litchi..perfect coolers..<br/><br/>Star of this entire event was "deconstructed toffee banana"...I am not a banana lover, my neice is all time chocolate fan in dessert ..but we could finish the dessert non stop..This is must try for all ages..don't avoid because u don't like bananas...<br/><br/>

Good food. <br/>Their blue rice and nasi goreng were my favourites, out of all the things we ordered. <br/><br/>Professional staff. <br/><br/>Amazing ambience. <br/><br/>Overall, worth the visit.

What did we order?<br/>1. Truffle infused edamame dumplings  - Mouth-watering - Usually a good asian place cannot go wrong with this and they are definitely a good asian place.<br/>2. Avocado and Asparagus Textured Rolls - Bad - This is not served with wasabi, soy sauce and ginger. I cannot imagine having sushi without this trio!<br/>3. Avocado Tacos - Delectable - Do NOT miss this. Very spicy and tangy. You will love it.<br/>4. A chocolate dessert (I am forgetting the name of the dessert). <br/><br/>DO NOT forget to use your Zomato Gold. I forgot to tell the waiter. Once the bill is generated, you cannot use Zomato Gold. So tell them right before you place the order - just to be on the safer side).<br/><br/>The place is adjacent to Kode in Kamala Mills. So remember to enter from the gate for Kode/Starbucks. Entering the right gate in Kamala mills is extremely important, especially if you don't want to ruin your mood before you start your meal.<br/><br/>The interiors are very well done and the place is perfectly lit. <br/><br/>The portions are decent - A sushi has 6 pieces. <br/><br/>Their service is excellent. The waiters are patient and will give you good recommendations. One negative - They do not explain the dish to you when it is served which is a must now. <br/><br/>They also do not mention the nutritional value for the dishes in their menu. In my opinion, this should be made mandatory for all restaurants.<br/><br/>Summary - This place is a must visit for all the asian food lovers. Go before they stop supporting Zomato Gold.

The food here left me speechless.<br/>Authentic , fresh and straight up delicious.<br/><br/>I don't think I've ever eaten such a big meal before but I couldn't resist ordering time and time again from their menu.<br/>Sushi , dumplings , prawns, braised pork belly, tofu - all so unique in flavour and melt-in-the-mouth YUM.<br/>The dessert menu is so jaw-dropping that I simply have to go back and make sure I try all.<br/>The raspberry & chocolate (heaven) and the Tofu cheesecake (light as a feather) were such a perfect way to end the meal.<br/>Presentation is gorgeous !!!!<br/>The service is also fantastic.<br/>And last but not least - their selection of teas are wonderful. Served in Wine and Martini glasses , prepared so perfectly that I didn't miss a single drop of alcohol the entire night.<br/><br/>Fabulous.<br/>❤️❤️

First ever wine 🍷 experience which was somehow am impulsive try out. I went there with my friend for dinner.<br/>Food was a mixed bag of an ok taste and quantity but sorted with presentation and variation.<br/>Bar - Red Wine (forgot the exact name 😋)<br/>Starters- Stir Fried zucchini, broccoli and water chestnut.<br/>Mains - Braised tofu, Artichoke red curry and Steamed Jasmine rice<br/>The overall ambience and service was excellent. But the cheque was not worth the food.<br/>Next visit - once in a blue moon<br/>

We went here for an office lunch as it was completely sponsored by the company. My rather elaborate review of our experience here is as follows.<br/>Food :- we tried the;<br/>Spicy shrimp tempura sushi roll : not spicy but delicious if u love sushi,<br/>Cumin lamb appetizer : well its got a prominent cumin seeds flavour and a little bland otherwise. Can be replaced with some other dish.<br/>Braised chicken and shitake with blue jasmine rice : Delicious... Worth a try... The rice is definitely worth a try.<br/>Ambience :- 5/5, the place is perfectly decorated in terms of interiors and lighting. The place is filled with amazing asian aromas.<br/>Service :- 5/5 (Arvind served us and he was well informed and hospitable), very professional and prompt.<br/><br/>Overall it was a good experience to visit here for some authentic asian food. The place is quiet expensive so be ready to get significantly lighter on the pockets. Lucky its got zomato gold. I think its a good place for a unique fine dine restaurant.

We just landed up the other day after making reservation for a place we had been wanting to go for a long time now. This is an outstanding place which serves Pan Asian largely and the Sushis and Dim Sum are to die for. The restaurant has quite an elegant ambience which gives you a perfect fine dining experience which is coupled by it's cutlery and crockery. The service is amazing too with a special mention to our server Mithun who took our experience to the next level. The food was amazing to with a perfect delectable taste in every dish we ordered<br/>as below<br/><br/>Avocado and Water Chestnut Salad with home made Guacamole and Thai chilly vinegerette<br/><br/>Truffle infused edamame dumpling with Truffle hollandice sauce and wasabi<br/><br/>Blue Jasmin fried rice with a hint of garlic. The blue is from the flower butterfly bluepeapod<br/><br/>Exotic Vegetables in Chilly sauce<br/><br/>The Palate cleanser were amusebouche water chestnuts and Curry lemon dressing infused with a drop of truffle oil and Kiwi and Kaffor lime sorbet<br/><br/>Dessert was Rose Penacotta made of Almond Milk and dehydrated fruit and Rose water with a dash of Rose foam on the top<br/><br/>Overall it's 5/5 and total Value for money! Highly recommended!!<br/><br/>

I visited to Poh to try out their new Set Menus - a 7 course dinner at Rs. 1250/- + tax. We opted for 1 veg and 1 non veg meal.<br/>I like the fact that every dish has interesting ingredients - right from the amuse bouche to the comforting cauliflower and truffle soup topped with dehydrated cauliflower florets as well as the salad of the day - assorted veggies with herb oil, mustard basil dressing, cheese and sriracha chilly sauce. We were also served two dimsums each - two chicken, and two veg which comprised of mainly broccoli. <br/>For appetizers, we had the shower fried tofu which was excellent - I hadn't found an enjoyable way to eat tofu until that moment! Stir fried zucchini, broccoli, water chestnut and chilly basil was served as a part of the veg menu. Coming to the non veg appetizers, I felt they weren't very impressive, especially the wok tossed pink pepper chicken. Although it looked saucy, it lacked flavour. The Pan Grilled Chilly Bean Sea Bass with Orange Zest was infinite times better!<br/>The mains had small portions, but enough to satisfy - from noodles to a hot pot served with a tea candle beneath it, and thai curry alongside fragrant jasmine rice. Dessert was the showstopper for us - Dark chocolate and caramel tart sprinkled with sea salt, mango and passion fruit gel swirls on the plate, wasabi and honey ice cream (a little weird, but different), and dehydrated fruits with cherry compote. Too rich to finish!<br/>Special thanks to Mithun for his wonderful demeanor and service with a smile. Ambiance wise, it was dark and moody, yet the place  drew a lot of families as diners.

One of the few places in mumbai with outstanding sushi. Great place for dinner anytime of the week. I have been here a few times and the places doesn’t fail to surprise you

The place is beautifully done and you instantly feel this sense of luxury over take you when you enter. Plush seating, emerald walls and fancy cutlery. I would recommend this place for an Asian fine dining experience. <br/><br/>Since I was on a quick grab and go lunch. I ordered for the salmon Sushi and mutton Dumplings. <br/><br/>I’ve eaten better sushi. So that was a slight disappointment for me. The mutton dumplings were really good. Tender meat with a really nice burnt onion sauce. <br/><br/>The staff is also very polite.

The Asparagus tempura served with a generous serving of wasabi is an absolute treat.....kudos to the presentation and the absolute thrill whilst having the wasabi.
