A century old shop, serves maharashtrian cuisine.
Misal Pav is its Speciality.
The staff here is very kind, It's in the vicinity of Dadar Station so its bound to have a huge crowd. You can also try there different lunch & dinner items which are pocket friendly as any other items on the menu.
Overall this is a must visit place if you are in Dadar.

This place is severing food since 1910. It has kept its reputation and even grown it as their ancestors had built it. Prompt and quick food served over here and that too fresh and hot.

A typical Pure-Veg. Maharashtrian Restaurant based out of Dadar(West), right outside Dadar Railway Station - Western Side.

Inception of this place occurred in 1910 (Almost 110 years old) started by Mr. Narayan Vishnu Kane under the name "Dakshini Brahmananche Swacha Uphargriha". Mr. Shankar Narayan Kane steered the Restaurant business to its height in the year 1928. As he was profoundly called Mama, hence the name "Mama Kane"

Full details available in the Food-Post written by Mini Ribeiro in The Hindu Article

They serve you all types of Maharashtrian Delicacies - Batata-Vada, Misal-Pav, Kothimbir-Vadi, Pohe, Thalipith, Upavas (Fast) Special - Sabudana Khichdi, Farali Misal, Sabudana Vada, Piyush.

Other than Tea & Coffee, they also serve you home-made Beverages - Lemon Sarbat, Kokam Sarbat, Ginger Lemon Juice, Amla (Indian Gooseberry) Sarbat, Jeera Masala.

Other than Fast-Food, they are quite famous for their Thaali system available in both Mini & Meals.

Thaalis consists of Rice, Puries, Chapatis, Bhaajis (Vegetable Dishes), Curry, Butter-Milk, Chutney & Papad. They also serve Sol-Kadhi.

The Specific dish that i always order is their Misal-Pav. Unlike other Misals you get across in Mumbai, Mama Kane's Misal is prepared with Matki (Mat Bean)-Chana (Chick-pea) with Misal-Masala Tarri (Curry)

Rating:- 4.5/5

Ambiance - It's not fancy but its a Small joint and can easily accommodate 50-60 at a time.

As the name speaks for it's cleanliness & Hygiene, it's brightly lit, Neat & Tidy.

PS: Tables are shared

Rating:- 4/5

Service - Staff is well versed with the Menu. They are Humble and got very good listening skills especially when it comes to your order. Even though at a Share table they know what you have ordered and will serve you according to your order only.

Had a fast today and wanted to order something.

This suggestion popped up in the list and I decided to go for it.

Well known restaurant near the Dadar Railway Station
For their Batata and sabudana wada

I ordered
1- Sabudana Wada - It was okish , felt like it was under cooked a bit.

2- Upvas Thalipeeth - Absolutely Loved it.

3-Piyush - This was good.

Quietness in overcrowded area is a best feature I like about this resturant. Very old family resturant ,batata vada is tastey and authentic in marathi cooking style. Seating is comfortable in size and passage for movement is big in between two tables. The special thing is not a feeling of hurry you experience in this resturant though it's full with people. You get secured type cool feeling as it has a legacy of good attitude of staff and manager.

Coming to the food, as per the tales of the famous misal pav and piyush we tried these out. Misal pav was served in layers of onion, farsan, misal and the most special ingredient that makes it different was mashed potato at the bottom. Misal was a tale told true. 💯
Piyush was something we tried for the first time. Home made shrikhand blended in butter milk and secret spices was a little too sweet for our tooth but was equally delicious.

This is one of the oldest and famous restaurant in Dadar which is very close to Dadar railway station. It is very simple, neat and clean pure vegetarian restaurant which serves delicious, best quality food. They serves the best quality food in reasonable rates. They mostly serves traditional Maharashtrian food. Thali options are also available here. They serve some unique ice-cream flavors such as Puranpoli ice-cream, Gulkand ice-cream, Ukadiche Modak ice-cream, etc. No parking facility is available here as the restaurant is in crowdy Dadar market area..

This eatery serves traditional Maharashtrian food. Though the area is crowded, the hotel is very spacious, neat and clean. Service is excellently prompt. Very neat and clean surroundings in the premises give a touch of satisfaction. Items served here are quite affordable too. In short a place to visit again and again and have a fun and food. Hence we enjoyed the food here. One can take a parcel. No home delivery.

Went for evening snacks on a weekday. Restaurant is located on the main road opposite to Dadar railway station. This is a local Maharashtrian cuisine. Reasonable price, quick service and delicious food. Misal Pav was outstanding, it was yummy 😋. Vada (Aloo bonda) was delicious and the Maharashtrian chapathi (made of mixed pulses) was hot, crispy and delicious 👌🏽 All the snacks were delicious. Only concern is the server was not friendly, he was rude and arrogant. All the people here rude and unfriendly. If you are a tourist check out this restaurant for some great local food but beware the service will not be friendly. #IndianTrip #Mumbai

Amazing place. One of the oldest and most iconic places in dadar. Their misal pav, batata vada and aam panna is worth trying. The ambience is rustic and gives you old world charm. Started in 1910 this place still works as per the standards set in when established and serves amazing Maharashtrian dishes to die for. They also serve packed Maharashtrian snacks which you can pick from the cash counter.

We ordered a plate of batata vada which they served with their best dry red chutney and coconut chutney on the side. I wish I had a picture of it but the vada's were so good that we couldn't stop ourselves from indulging in. Rs 45 for two massive in size than your usual vada's. Next we ordered a plate of Missal Pav which for Rs 80 oh it was truly a soul food. The ambience will take you back to 90's maharashtra vibe.
