South high is a one stop shop for authentic south Indian food and serves Best south Indian food I tried in Mumbai. Their newly opened outlet in Malad is doing wonders by offering best authentic south Indian food with a twist which is pleasing and attracting people from good long. The seating here is made for good comfort with wooden theme. Items I tried here, Quick gun murugan idli : this was the show stopper. Steamed idli fried to crisp and tossed in quick gun powder which serves as an appetizer with sambar and chatni. It is filling too Kerala Iral fry: this was prawns served in semi fry green curry which serves as an appetizer as well main. It can goes very well with one of theis appam or neer dosa Chettinad poriyal chicken: chicken prepared in chettinad style with garam masala and ia served dry. A good try for all chettinad and sukkha chicken lovers. It is mild spicy Krispy paneer: veg lovers are gonna fall for this dish big time. It was soft chunks of panner fried to get best crispyness and tossed in sessame and kadipatta. Loved their preparation and taste. Muttai appam: Appam comes from south India and is made from fermented rice batter and coconut milk like a pancake. Muttai appam however has a half fried egg on its top. It's a real good try. Rajni dosa: As the name suggests, it has to be something different. Rajnj dosa is like dosa tacos stuffed with aaloo masala and lots of cheese. Overall a very good place for the food we tried. Would definitely visit again to cover morr items from their vast menu. Cocktails however can get better

Dining in South high on a banana leaf reminded me of my Chennai days. So South high is just beside Banana Leaf in Malad and the difference between Banana Leaf and South high is that South high serves non vegetarian food as well as alcohol. So even the cocktails and mocktails served there is in a South Indian version. I ordered the Kerala pepper fry mutton, chettinad poriyal chicken and Mangalore meen fry surmai. All the cheese starters with perfectly good in very tasty South Indian masalas. I loved all three of them next in the main course I tried out the veg unlimited thali which is a must try here. So it has some 15 types of items in the Thali and its unlimited. The interiors and the decor of South high is very beautiful and very interesting. The service is also very fast and the staff is very friendly. I would highly recommend this place for a family lunch or dinner and for a person who is a South Indian food lover
