Review The Boston Butt Fort - Mumbai

A heavenly place for meat lovers. The quarter portion of pulled chicken and St Louis Style Pork were tasty. If you love milkshakes than must try here. The Boston Butt Shake was thick and creamy. Probably the best milkshake in town! The salad portion was slightly small. Best part about the lunch was the Skillet Chocolate Cookie! We had to wait for more than twenty minutes to get served but it was totally worth it. The restaurant is small so advisable to make reservations, especially on weekends.

The Boston Butt is a decently located bar at Pali Hill. It has some signature cocktails and a wide variety of appetizers, bar plates, pizzas and desserts. They have got some brilliant dishes over there and you have certainly got to try them. Mac-A-Pav The special combination of goan style chicken sausages and the ever delicious mac n cheese embroiled in a pav. Quite a good appetizer. Bloom Bread (Recommended) Some absolutely soft pull apart bread with plenty of mixed cheddar cheese. Every bite being a delightful cheese indulgence and leaving you with a lasting impression. What a cheesilicious appetizer!!! BBQ Chicken Pizza Consisting of some barbeque chicken, jalapenos and corn, the pizza was quite decent. Lipsmacking is the word you're looking for here. Orleans Style BBQ Shrimp Juicy, bright and fresh shrimp marinated and smothered with the rightful spices. Ordered on the recommendation of the managed and wasn't disappointed one bit. Smoked Mozzarella Chilly (Recommended) Mozzarella cheese stuffed and smoked making it an absolute wonderful appetizer. The indulgence is such that you crave more of it. Chocolate Cookie Chip Ice cream (Highly Recommended) Fresh and warmly baked large cookie with ice cream on top. Absolutely delicious on every bite and probably the best dessert we have had in a long time. We were also served Lemon Iced Tea as a refreshment. Absolutely amazed by the food and service we got. The interior looks fabulous and they also have an outside seating area. The ambience is really soothing and it's a wonderful place to hang out with your gang. They do boast of a wide variety of cocktails too. Little on the expensive side but they give what they promise!

The ribs are succulent beyond belief. They are suitaby priced so this is more a decadent treat than regular dining option. The salad was basic and my fellow diner wasn't thrilled about it. The staff are courteous and the entire experience was pleasant. If you fancy ribs, you should indulge.

Remember the time when good music and lip-smacking American Non-vegetarian food was the thing of the town? With the surge of restaurants in the city, the concept completely drowned out. The Boston Butt, puts American food on the map again and that also with a bang!!! I enjoy trying new concepts and flavours at restaurants. You know sometimes how you order a new flavour and either it's too strong or the alcohol mixed kills the taste? Quite unlike that, the signature cocktails here are a hit! The popcorn LIIT and the bacon drink kept us happy the entire night. The place oozes the authenticty of the American concept of charcuterie and smoked meats. To start the night, we had this amazing charcuterie board which we customised. So we had the 63 days cured pork gabagool clubbed with Camembay cheese. The board offered a host of flavours. From the dry, salty meat to the creaminess of the exotic artisinal cheese andsweet cinnamon covered peanuts that balanced the rocket drizzled with balsamic. Roasted zuchinni bits and yam chips along with baked beans and cream cheese. Chicken liver patte, served in a small jar in its own chicken fat oils with the Belper Knolle cheese which essentially was a creamy cheese covered with pepper. The board boasts of tantalising flavours in perfect balance. To add the last bit of sweetness, there also was a litchi. It's quite astonishing how so many complicated flavours were presented so simply on one board and how each retaineed it's unique taste while maintaing the overall balance of the dish. Couple this with a couple of beers for an amazing meal. For those who'd want a boozy delight, one bowl of the popcorn drink can keep you occupied for most parts of the night! We also tried the glazed pork ribs and the pulled pork. Both were superb. The pork ribs were much more moist as compared to the pulled pork. As I like my meat that way, I enjoyed it a lot!! For dessert, you cannot miss the home baked cookie with ice cream. The taste is absolutely amazing. The salted caramel ice cream and the dark chocolate one on the massive choco chip cookie were just too good. Especially for the hardcore meat loving folk, this is the place to be!!!! **All images and content is original and based on my personal experience of this restaurant.**

There's so much to talk about the food of Boston Butt!! Omg, what an exciting selection of menu. Let's just say that someone who always admired the barbeque culture of the "wild wild west" was pleasantly surprised. The pork lover in me was also happy with some of the dishes I got to try. Let me walk you through all the food that I had: Cocktails: Bacon Beachcomber: Ever had a cocktail infused with a crispy and salty bacon in it? That's what this drink is all about! Boston Butt might be among the first few to bring such an innovative concoction to the Mumbai food scene. And it delivers perfectly in taste! There's a Lean Beachcomber with sugar free additives for the fitness conscious too :) Freudian Slip: This cocktail packs a punch so good that I might not regret getting into some Freudian Slip situation ;) Appetisers and Mains: I ordered all three portions of their non veg Charcuterie in one plate. I am so glad that I did as there's no one smoked dish that I could have picked. They all were delicious and are equally recommended. Cheese platter: Boston Butt's selection of cheese includes the good ol' cream cheese, Gouda, ricotta and more! They were all served in a tasting platter, along with some yam crisps and a litchi as a palate cleanser. Absolutely classy pairing with their signature cocktails, I would say! Another dish worth mentioning is their 4 cheese Mac n Cheese. The perfect comfort food that we are all familiar with, but made with four types of artisanal quality cheese mixed it... Yum! Highly recommended, especially for vegetarians. How could I visit a place that specialises in American barbeque and not have pork ribs?! I went for their quarter inch pork ribs, and it was almost fall-of-the-bones perfection. Highly recommend it. Dessert: After our heavy meal, had space for one dessert :) So we went with their house recommended Skillet Chocolate Chip Cookie with Three Ice Creams. The house made ice cream flavours were salted caramel, chocolate and vanilla. All three were rich and absolutely delicious. Paired with the freshly baked skilled cookie, the entire dish was the perfect way to end the meal on a sweet high! Boston Butt, I will be back. It is definitely an example of small place, packed full of flavours!

The Boston Butt is located at Pali Hill on Bandra West. It was hands down one of the best restaurants/lounge I've visited till date! Located at quite a prime location, they also have Outside & Inside Seating. Both with Music. I felt a lot of positive vibes from the staff and most importantly, the food out here was outstanding! . What we had: Cocktails: *Freudian Slip *Tropic Like It's Hot *Bacon Beachcomber *Curry Scented B*tch *Sazerac Frost *Always Bean You Mocktails: *Red Cloud Starters: *Smoke Pork Ribs (St. Louis Style) *Lemon Pepper Chicken *Butter Milk Onion Rings Bar Plates: *New Orleans Style BBQ Shrimp *Clams Casino *Crunchy Fried Chicken & Waffle Bucket Pizza: *Diavola Charcuterie Board: *Pork Pepperoni *Pork Gabagool *Nduja Style Chicken Pate Larder Board: *Belper Knole *Camembay *Olive & Pinto Bean Pate Deserts: *Freshly Baked Skillet-Chocolate Chip Cookie with House Ice Cream . I had such an outstanding experience after a very long time. The positivity was flowing through this place. The staff here was probably the most knowledgeable staff with a welcoming smile and politeness throughout. Their Hygiene was on point and so was their taste. . APPRECIATION FOR THE STAFF MANAGER RAVI & SERVER CHANSO. Chanso had an exceptionally good knowledge of the whole menu. He was swift, polite and open for feedback! . ATTRACTION: They have their own Smokery and the dishes coming out of their Kitchen were outstanding. A taste that cannot be described! . THE BOMBAY REKDI RECOMMENDED!

The Boston Butt, BANDRA SEATING ARRANGEMENT & SERVICE : ( 4/ 5 ) This restaurant is located in between the Irish house and soy. The restaurant is divided in two section with indoor being the AC and outdoor with coolers. Decor is fantastic and lighting is good. The have both normal as well as high chair seating arrangements. Bar is well stocked. Special thanks to Attende ; Mr. Pritesh for explaining briefly about the menu & suggesting the same. We started with Drinks like, CRUMB FOUNDED : ( 4 /5 ) Drink having foundation of inhouse chocolate chip cookie crumb along with Irish whiskey & orange bitter and then infused with flamed star anise in front of you. The thing is for the first 3/4 of the drink you wont find a kick but gradually at the end, you get some good kick thanks to the crushed chocolate chip cookie crumb which settles at the bottom & gets infused with the whiskey. BACON BEACHCOMBER: ( 3 /5 ) Basically its White rum and yuzu liquor infused with inhouse smoked bacon. Not much of a strong drink. Then We had HOUSE LARDER BOARD - CHARCUTERIE : ( 2 /5 ) Try this dish only if you don’t care about the portion size as you will be very disappointed by the same. The ratings for this are only for the taste. Now, when you select the Board from charcuterie - you have the option to pick any three from the Board menu as mains which will be later accompanied with their inhouse mini sides like a spoon of chive cheese cream, carnival peanuts, marinated pinto beans, house ferments, baked yam chips etc. We decided to have all non-veg board so selected the 1)nduja style chicken pate ( its basically chicken liver finely minced along with herbs and spice to give it a creamy spread like texture - served in small see through glass jar ) , 2)42 days dry aged pork pepperoni ( very thinly sliced ) & 3)63 days dry cured & aged pork gabagool ( basically its the meat cut from the shoulder & neck - and its very thinly sliced ) On taste wise, its great. 7 Hrs LOW & SLOW SMOKED PORK RIBS : ( 4 /5 ) Select anything from the smoker sections and you will be pleased. This Pork ribs were tender and would come of the bones without much effort. Had good amount of glazing and served along with Buttered toast, Tomato Bbq based beans, slaw and house ferments. Great taste. JAMBALAYA : ( 4.5 /5 ) This dish is a bit spicy. Now here, brown rice is prepared with chicken stock, tomatoes, Cajun seasoning, onions , garlic, celery, pepper along with 3 pieces of shrimps, Finely sliced sausage pieces and 3pieces of Clam. Taste really good. Moving on the desserts, We tried FRESHLY BAKED SKILLET - CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE WITH INHOUSE ICECREAM ( 5 / 5 ) Even if you don’t have any sides or mains, do order this. This is something you just cant miss. A freshly prepared Chocolate chip cookie with chocolate stuffing inside & is placed in skillet. It is garnished with 3 scoops of inhouse ice cream like vanilla, Toffee caramel and chocolate. Not only the cookie tasted great but the inhouse ice creams were superb. No artificial flavours & I personally preferred the Toffee ice cream.

Shout out to all the meat lovers, this is the place to visit, they have the best inhouse smoked meats which is perfectly aged and cooked on slow flame. I had the below dishes - Drink - Tropic like it's hot - vodka based drink with organge, basil, house watermelon tonic. Food - 7 hrs slow smoked pork ribs : as the name suggests the pork ribs are cooked over slow fire for 7 hrs, the meat was so tender that it melted in the mouth and fell off the bone. Very well marinated pork, juicy and so tasty. It came with some beans and toasted bread. House Lader board - it's a platter with meat, house cheese, house sauces, house yam chips. The meat was 63 days aged pork gabagool, similar to baccon but very different. Belper knolle cheese it's a local mumbai cheese, to my surprise I wasn't aware that Mumbai had a local cheese until yesterday. Amazing atmosphere, feet tapping music and extremely friendly staff, Pritesh our server was very helpful also the restaurant Manager came explained the dishes and gave his suggestions as well. Loved the place will surely visit again.

The Boston Butt, a cafe that has been doing the noise for all the right reasons. Its India’s first smokery & charcuterie Bar Cafe. Charcuterie is a type of cooking technique that creates different pork products like salami, sausages etc. Smokery is a one of the methods of cooking that emphasises on the use of wood fire to cook the food especially the meat which gives the dish some nice smoky flavour. The restaurant uses different grillers for veg dishes, chicken / mutton, beef and pork. Most of dishes are slow cooked for around 8-10 hours. a) POSHSICLES – A beautiful drink that manages to appeal to the child as well as the adult in you. Now this drink was something I have seen for the first time and immediately got my attention. Its basically a ice popsicle served in a prosecco, which is an Italian white wine. A great cocktail, with smooth wine going really well with the ice popsicle. Highly Recommended. b) BEERITA – This concept is slowly catching up at many cafe’s and restaurants and I am surely not gonna complain on that. A glass of strawberry margarita served with a upside bottle kingfisher beer and lots of ice. The freshness and tanginess of the margarita supplements the taste of the beer and the combination is bang on. If you visit TBB, make sure you order this. 2. APPETIZERS & MAINS: a) BLOOM BREAD: I had heard quite a lot about the Bloom Bread and seen many videos of the same on Instagram. When I saw the name on the menu, I was very excited for getting a chance of eating the cheese filled bread. Bloom bread is basically a round bun filled with yellow cheddar and gouda and garnished with burnt garlic and scallion to add some texture and taste to it. Though the concept is really nice it was not properly executed, as the cheddar used was less. b) NACHOS MEZZE : Now who doesn’t love some nachos with different variety of dips? The house made beetroot infused nachos garnished with melted cheese and jalapenos served with cilantro jalapeno hummus, roasted red bell pepper hummus and tender coconut guacamole. I was initially sceptical of the combination of nachos with hummus, but surprisingly it turned out great. c) SMOKED BBQ CHICKEN PIZZA: A thin crust pizza with smoky flavours. Now thats one dish that is going to be everyone favourite. The base thin and crispy, with perfect amount of cheese and smoky chicken. A good dish to try. d) SMOKED PORK BELLY: When you visit a restaurant that specialises smoked dishes, you have to try the pork. I ordered the pork belly cooked in south carolina style maple mustard bbq glaze. Although I expected a huge chunk of pork belly to be served, they served me 2 long stick sized portion of the pork belly. It was cooked really well, with the marination done properly and slow cooked to give the smoky flavour. Although the taste was good, the quantity was really less. 3. DESSERT: a) SKILLET BAKED CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE WITH HOUSE MADE ICE CREAM If you visit the Boston Butt, even if you don’t eat anything else, you should not miss this dish. Finally there is dessert different and much better than the sizzling brownie. A gigantic chocolate chip cookie is baked in an iron skillet. The crunchy, crispy and crumbly choco chip cookie is served with 3 different types of house made ice-creams; vanilla, salted caramel and chocolate with chocolate sauce to top it off. The sweet cookie is complimented by salted caramel ice cream really well. The quantity of the dessert is good enough for 2 people. Note: 1. Cost for 2 people: ₹1600 - ₹2000. 2. The place is generally full on weekends, so better make a reservation in advance

THE BOSTON BUTT opened a month ago in Pali Hill with same enthusiasm as it had in the town. The place is small as compared to the previous one which was in Fort. I tried a few cocktails here and was impressed with POPCORN LIT & ALWAYS BEAN YOU. The LIT is huge & recomended to be shared between 3 or more. ALWAYS BEAN YOU is a strong concoction of Absolut Vodka & chocolate liquer & espresso. The drink is jst perfect. Do try this one. In food tried below dishes: ▶️ BBQ STYLE SHRIMP ▶️ TIKKA TACOS ▶️ SMOKED MOZARELLA CHILLI ▶️ HAND CUT FRIES ▶️ ROASTED PEPPER & BEAN CHILLI served with Rice. I would recommend the SHRIMPS, FRIES & ROASTED PEPPER dish which was a mains dish. In dessert, tried the CHERRY GATEAU. It ws delicious with controlled sweetness. Just perfect. They r famous for their Slow cooked Pork & other meats which are cooked for as long as 5-7 hrs in its juices which makes thek super delectable. Will visit once again to try more of their grills.
