One of the best place for fish lovers. Had surmai fry which was super fresh super tasty and super crispy and on top of that very affordable rates. A must visit for fish lovers.
This is best place to eat authentic Maharashtrian food. The bombil Thali was just awesome. The bombil just melts in your mouth. Very nice cozy place with no frills and hifi decor which normally scares people away. Worth the price.
The bombil thaali here is possibly the best I've had in Bombay. Crisp on the outside and perfectly buttery inside, the fish was fresh and high quality. The clams (tisriya) masala is another stellar dish that's highly recommended. In true Malwani style, the food is spicy and delicious.
All in all, a perfectly unpretentious, honest little lunch home bang in the centre of the city. I'm glad places like this exist in the city.
This place serve only thali i.e. that is veg -non veg both. It's specially famous for fish. We had ordered surmai thali, Prawns thali, bhakri, vade and bombil. Tast wise perfect. It's not too big and always crowded so it's better to go little early. Fish lover must try.
Overall
Taste -4/5
Service-5/5
This review has been long over due. I've been a regular at Pradeep Gomantak for 5-6 years now. It's a no frills lunch home. It's all about the food here.
The rest can seat about 7-8 tables and they encourage sharing tables at the busy lunch hour. The service is quick.
Food wise
1. Thalis : the surmai or pomfret thalis are great value for money. The food is always fresh and hot. You can ask for more curry for your rice any time. Don't miss the soul kadi. 4/5
2. Bombil fry : my favorite. Always call for this. It's yummy melt in the mouth bombil. 5/5
3. Fried prawns : this usually ends up being shrimp. But the shrimp quantity is decent, hence all good 3.5/5
In short, grab a quick seafood thali at PG in Fort and you won't be disappointed at all. We paid about 400 per person and ate a LOT.
Ordered: 1 Bombil thali, 1 Surmai thali & 1 plate Mandeli fry (Total bill = Rs. 360/-)
Taste: Very tasty. Bombil thali had 6 fish pieces, crispy outside, soft inside; delicious home-like taste. Surmai thali was equally tasty with one piece of fish. Mandeli fry plate was 12 crispy crunchy fish pieces and we ate it non stop. Other items on the thali were: sol kadhi, chavli, respective fish curry, lemon, onions and chapati - all good. Simple food, similar to home-made meals.
Service: Quick
Ambience: Small, clean hotel with about 6 tables.
Value for money: Unbelievably cheap
Go here for lunch and relish the best thali you could ask for! If you're around Fort area, do not give this a miss! Specially if you're the lover of food more than the ambience!
This small Non-Ac joint in fort serves homely style thali which consists of 1 main dish (Chicken Sukha is what i tried) paired with rice, curry (rassa), couple of chapatis and solkadi.
The service here is quite good and the cost is light on your pocket so if you forgot your lunch at home, don’t worry and visit this joint.
fresh fish and tasty food...tasty mutton wade and bhakri. kokamkadhi is very awesome...reasonable rate and best place to eat feeling like eating home food.
