Always loved this place and a must visit whenever in town side. Their range of beers are really awesome and one of the best crafted beers in Mumbai. Special thumbs up to Rakesh whom we remember as one of the courteous staff who kept checking with us if we liked the place and the hospitality. Will surely visit again.

Effingut is one of the most prominent name in Pune and now in Mumbai also to brought us its passion for great beer and its love of experimentation together to create legendary craft beers. This is being their fifth outlet in Maharshtra and second outlet in Mumbai. This place has a lot to offer. Right from their In-house breweries with a wide range of flavors from, to the mindfully created ambience with chic interiors. Unlike most of the places, they charge for tasters. This place offers a good quality of tasters for free which shows that they want people to appreciate good beer just as much. The ambience is bit different and interesting too. Music again was awesome, perfectly complimented the ambience and the mood. Sometimes it was too loud for me. With a very courteous staff (Rohit) and comfortable seating, we went Gaga over this place. They have around 12 flavors of beer and you can get samples to taste. So, you can pick and choose based on your taste. My favourite is “Hefeweizen” Traditional wheat beer with flavors of Banana & Clove with a hint of Bubblegum & “Kolsch” clean and crisp with hoppy and fruity notes on aftertaste. Coming to the food, I’ve always focused on gulping beers but this time around, I tried lot of items. Rosemary Parmesan Fries with Beer Dip: My favorite part about these fries was beer dip. It tasted so fresh. Fries was little crispy and really awesome. Thecha Chicken Tenders: Probably the best version of Chicken tenders. Thecha is spicy condiment prepared in Maharashtra. Being a spicy food lover, I simply loved this. One of the best appetizer of the evening. Prawns Mustard Chilli: The Jumbo Prawns tossed in mustard chilli sauce and has nice dominating flavor of mustard. Presentation was superb. Prawns were served on a bed of Kurdai (Traditional Maharashtrain dish comes under Papad category.) Good option with beers, I have paired with Hefeweizen. Do try. BBQ Chicken Flatbread: With small chicken chunks, a blend of Cheddar and Mozarella, a handful of chopped red onions and a fresh cilantro, this flatbread is sure to get standing ovation from the customers. JD Drunken Wings: The wings were crispy, tender and smothered in a sweet n spicy Honey BBQ sauce. Has a nice crispy texture. Really amazing. Molten Lava Cake: This dessert is such an indulgent treat. You will love the deep chocolate flavor and the warm liquid center. Drooling!!! Overall, Effingut serves amazing food and freshly brewed beers and ciders. A must visit place. Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Décor: 5/5 VFM: 5/5 P.S: The review is strictly based on my personal experience.

Yet another micro-brewery coming in from Pune. They've got a wide range of beers to suit your pallet, right from the taste to the type of beer. They've even got beers having different international bitterness unit - ranging from 0 to 25 (not too sure if that is even an aspect we look at while choosing the beer but it's good to know information) They've got an outdoor section as well as an indoor one. My preference would the indoor section on the first floor. They've done it up very well. I haven't had the food yet, which is why I'm holding back the last star. Selling point for me 1 - the variety of beer 2 - the vibe on the first floor (because of the interiors) PS - this review is based on a visit on a Saturday afternoon (post lunch)

Heading out on Friday night for drinks, a friend recommended Effingut, a place that was on my to-visit list. Located right in the heart of Bandra, I was a little early to reach, so getting a table was no issue. I was accommodated upstairs, and while the seat was soft, it had no backrest, so not the most comfortable spot to be in if you're going to be there for a few hours. Being a place known for it's cocktails, I started off with Whiskey Fizz and to munch on something I ordered Crispy Chicken Bites. The drink was the first to arrive, a concoction of whiskey, triple sec, lemon juice and sugar syrup. I barely felt any alcohol in it, and I made it known to the waiter, who took back my glass and returned it, fortified with extra whiskey. The chicken bites were yummy, the panko crust going perfectly with the piri piri dip. My next order was Blue Hawaii, and Grilled BBQ Chicken. Just like before, the drink beat the food to the table, and it was simply amazing. White rum paired with blue curacao, and a little bit of pineapple juice, I highly recommend it for all rum lovers. It was made strong as per my preference, and I savored every sip of it. The grilled chicken wasn't too bad either, the juicy meat was a delight to bite into, though the barbeque sauce was an overkill, something I have noticed at many restaurants. This was followed by my third drink, Effingut Sunrise, and Smoked Ham with Cheese Loaded Potato. The cocktail was tequila based, with grenadine plus orange juice. They once again got it right, as it was neither too fruity nor too sugary. The pork and potato combination was another winner. Sliced halves on boiled potato with ham on top, and with plenty of cheese, it was sure to make my taste buds happy. Of all dishes I had, this was the only one who's quantity was in proportion with the price. Finally, for dessert I opted for Molten Choco Lava Cake, and boy was it amazing. The cake and the lava was as good as it gets, completely overshadowing the accompanying vanilla ice cream which was excellent too, having a rich, creamy texture. To sum up then, Effingut lives upto it's reputation as one of the highly recommended places in Bandra. The cocktails, when made strong, are truly worth guzzling. The food is lip smackingly great, and the service is upto the mark as well. My only gripe would be the serving size, which for the most part does not match it's price, and that snowballs the bill. Had that not been the case, I would have no hesitation in giving a 5 star rating.

I was delighted when I got to know that one of my favourite breweries has opened its doors in the Mumbai suburbs! That means, now I don't have to commute all the way to Colaba :) So I called a friend and together, we went to experience Effingut's Bandra chapter on a Thursday evening. And what an experience it was! The first thing that I really loved was that even though it was a weeknight, the place was bustling with young crowd. They have seating areas spread across two levels. We chose to sit upstairs, which had more light. I thoroughly loved the quirky decors and books that adorned the walls there. The service was pretty prompt, even though it was a busy evening as I mentioned earlier. We were presented with the menu shortly after being seated. Effingut's selection of beers blew our minds. Regular and seasonal craft brews, stouts, shandies - all had a place in their menu! The attendant suggested that we try all their seasonal crafts before deciding what to order. So we did that. I must say, choosing just one for each of us to begin with, was very difficult. They all tasted so good! We finally decided to start with Peach Ginger Melomel and Coffee Stout. The former is transparent beer - my first experience of tasting something like that! For appetisers, we began by ordering their Pork Sausage Platter. Delicious! Must try! We also experimented by ordering Crispy Orange Sriracha Chicken. Thin crispy slices of Chicken, coated with a sweet and a spicy orange and sriracha mix, it was delicious too. Don't let it get cold :) Our next round of beer were Apple Cider and American Pale Ale. Again, both great! Hard to choose one. Along with those, we went with Calcutta Style Chicken Cutlet and Thecha Chicken Tenders. My friend, who is a Bengali, loved the cutlets. Reminded her of her hometown. And since I love a lot of spice in my food, I just loved the Thecha chicken. Both are recommended dishes. For mains, we went with Chicken Pattaya plated meal. It was yummmyy and another recommended dish from Effingut. There is an option to add prawns to this dish, or make it veg. As for desserts, we went with their Pannacotta, Cheesecake and Tiramisu. Although all three were nice, it was the Pannacotta that takes the cake! It had the right amount of wobble, perfect texture and great balance of sweetness and a little bit of tartness (from the blueberry compote on top). Give it a go if you visit this place. Overall, our visit to Effingut was an unforgettable culinary experience. We would love to be back again!
