Pleasently surprised by good quality of South Indian fare at Mukta's kitchen in Deonar ( not Matunga!). Also very friendly owners.
This simple but cute little restaurant is under rated to say the least. Not only is their food amazing, but it's really affordable. The staff is super adorable. They really take a genuine effort to provide you with a good service. I honestly like this place better than Sadguru and a few other restaurants around Chembur area. This has become my go to place. If at all we feel bored to cook at home, we just drop by here. Another good (or probably bad) thing about this place is, it's never really too crowded, making your meal reasonably peaceful. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat.

Hello everyone!
We really didn't get why this place has such low ratings, infact all the dishes we tried were actually pretty good.
Totally worth the money, it's cheap and it was good enough.
One of the best vegetarian places which serves authentic Mangalorean cuisine. Yes you heard me right Mangalorean Vegetarian. That’s not an oxymoron but a reality only in Mukta’s kitchen. My personal favourite is the mini idli and I quite like the Mangalorean buns which I find an absolute delight to indulge in during any hour of the day or night. Lovely restaurant with a brilliant menu. Kaustubh Joshi (Author Bombay Unmapped)
Visited this place with 2 of my friends. While I had a thali, others ordered from the a-la-carte menu. First, the GSB thali is a unique feature of this restaurant, bringing in the aromas of the community from which the owners hail. Ingredients like coconut, coconut oil, tamarind and curry leaves create a heady mixture of spice and taste. Of particular mention would be the Song, a spicy and tangy potato preparation.
To wash it down, I had the Kokum soda, a refreshing sherbet with a zing.
As for my friends, the Rava adai proved too good, crisp from the outside with a soft and tasty inside.
The authentic sambar and chutney provided great accompaniment.
Another rarely found offering we had was the biscuit roti. Looking like a Kachori, but with a flavourful inside, this is an excellent accompaniment to tea, or Mukta's superlative filter coffee.
On the whole, a singularly toothsome experience that will leave you wanting for more.
I absolutely love this little joint, tucked away in Deonar; making this a real hidden gem.
Although the restaurant offers a plethora of dishes to choose from, it is an authentic GSB restaurant.
They dish out regular favourites like Idli, dosas and wada making it great for a quick breakfast fix.
On occasion, I have tried their Thali which was super delicious and extremely filling, with big portion sizes to keep you satiated.
Something worth mentioning is their coconut chutney which tastes super fresh. I have always been a 'sambar person' but they really converted me.
Having said that, I really like their sambar too - it's not sweet like some of the others I have tried.
Must try: Mangalore Buns, Kela Bhajia, GSB Thali, Filter Coffee (they also offer an option with jaggery which tastes delicious too!).
Must try GSB special buns!! The food is finger licking tasty and sambar is amazing. Also try rava masala dosa in ghee. Great food for people who like spicy food.
Marvellous & delicious sambhar, typical South Indian sambhar! Must try South Indian & spicy North Indian! Finally some place to relish good south Indian and North Indian food in Mumbai!
The biryani is delicious and mouth watering. The paneer makhani just melts in the mouth. An amazing and affordable place. Loved the food alot!
I loved the food and the idlis were delicious and I loved service was excellent and aroma was good and the ambience was good and simple and good place to eat
This is my favourite one. It is not a big restaurant but has a good food. Ulundu dosa is my favourite one. South Indian dishes are must try. Not a crowdy place. You can sit comfortably and have your food. Though this is a road touch restaurant you are not disturbed with outside noise.
A place you can have a quick food.
Very good authentic GSB style food preparation if you in search of homely and vegetarian simple food it's a must visit.
A must visit place in this area where good food is hard to find. Excellent dosas, non sweetened sambar, chutney cud be better, nice coffee with jaggery. Nice owners.
Amazing South Indian food. Specially GSB Mangalore food. Buns, coffee, dosaa. Ulundu, sett, masala. Podi idlis. And all sorts of food. Best way to give mangalorean food to friends.
Clean and simple place.
Food is tasty.
We ate Meduwada, mysore masala dosa, rasam, filter coffee, puri bhaji, Mangalore bun, etc.
Very nice and affordable.
Muktas is a good place to have South Indian food especially the Karnataka ones. They don't use food colour or ajinomoto and have an all vegetarian Menu. The ambience and seating is Spartan, but then the filter coffee is too good to make up for. They have a thali and other North Indian menu too. Usually remains closed on Sundays.
Awesome GSB cuisine. Clean, hygienic ambience. One can taste some special dishes like Paan poli, Tuppa dosa on specific days. Located on Govandi station road. Roadside parking. Thali is good option for lunch time visitors.
This is a simple place with amazing quality, highly underated, had Bangalore ghee roast dosa and moms dosa ,was out the world, been there several times & always came out fully contended.
A very good budget vegetarian restaurant in the locality. The option for vegetarian is good. The restaurant may turn out to be slightly noisy. But should not mind for the price we pay. Overall a good anything you can eat budget restaurant.
Great Mangalorean and Goan vegetarian food. In April the amras Puri was super. Anyone from Goa/ Mangalore who wants takachi kadi should visit in Mumbai
