The thali comprises of Chicken Sukka,Egg Curry,Chicken Kheema,Tambada-Pandhara rassa,Bhakri and Pulao.This is a pretty wholesome thaali quite appealing to the eyes as well as to tastebuds. On the taste front everything is absolutely amazing. But we specifically loved pandhra rassa it tastes just heavenly.😋😋😋

The items were quite similar to the chicken thaali except the egg curry. The entire preparation was delicious🤩

Zunka Bhakri is one of the most underrated yet fingerlicious delicacy. We tried this one and trust me it was equally fantastic as chicken thaali.🥰🥰

Definitely that one place which never disappoints is Gaavkari. Black Chicken/Mutton, Kharda, Dry Chicken/Mutton, the generosity of the thali is all about this place that can bring you back again and again. Authentic spices are used to make these Kolhapuri dishes and probably the only restaurant that hits right on the tastebuds without your stomach having to pay for it later. 10/10

This was my very 1st order from Gaavkari and I must say that it was worth every rupee! I had ordered Mutton Paya Soup, Black Chicken Thali & Wade. The black chicken curry was the winner amongst the rest with its perfect blend of spices and unique taste....a taste that I had never had before but loved it from the very first bite! Besides the black chicken curry the thali also comprised of chicken kheema, + egg curry + 2 other plain gravies: tambda rassa (red gravy) & pandhra rassa (white gravy) along with pulav & a Rice bhakri (rice roti). All the gravies had their own unique taste and overall the food was a great experience on the taste buds. Gaavkari is highly recommended!!!

Hi friends! If u love maharashtrian food then u must visit hotel gavkari. It's a restraunt at prabhadevi. They serve amazing variety in mutton, chicken, fish and their veg variety is equally amazing.
We had paya soup and it was simply amazing, next we ate black chicken dry surmai fry, chicken sukka. The black chicken had an amazing flavour and was perfectly village style. Surmai fry was fantastic and so was the sukka chicken. It has perfect blend of masala s. For main course we ate mutton in ghee gravy, kheema masala, paneer butter masala with ghee chapatis. The mutton was absolutely tender and we couldn't stop taking more and more helpings. Paneer butter masala was superb, so if u r going in a group and few of you are veg then also u can eat some great food here. The chapatis were lovely. They serve u in nice steel thali s with onion on the side . You are sure to enjoy a meal here as the food is lipsmacking. Lastly we had sol kadi which is a pretty pink drink which Is a mix of coconut milk and kokum.

Mumbai's hidden gems are to be found in the narrowest lanes of this Metropolis. Came across a pop-up on FB today about a small place... Hotel Gavkari located in the bylanes of Prabhadevi.
We were looking forward to some typical Maharashtrian fare and that is exactly what we got.
Wifey opted for Chicken Kharda thali and
I opted for the Gavkari Mutton Thali.
The Kharda Chicken was extremely spicy with the basic and overpowering taste being that of green chillies... Unfortunately this lacked in flavour, which is otherwise expected from the Kharda masala in which it is marinated and cooked.
The Gavran mutton was absolutely amazing and hit the palate just as expected with the garam masala coarsely ground to a thick gravy and the mutton almost falling off the bones.
The other accompaniments in the thali had a a very flavourful, egg curry and Mutton Kheema, both with distinct flavours with just the right amount of spiciness and extremely yummy. The Tambda (brown) rassa was just fine, however the pandhra (white) rassa, was bursting with flavours and I could have just kept drinking this straight from the vati. We had opted for chapatis and bhakri, which served hot, pairs beautifully with the tongue tingling, meaty delights.
Then we were served a plate of flavourful pulav.. And mutton biryani.. Nothing much to write about.. It was strictly ok.
Sol kadhi was superb and was necessary to quell the fire. Overall a great meal 😋😋😋👌😍.
The lady who manages this place said that they have six branches in Pune and one in Thane and Nasik and another one opening shortly in Vashi.

Gaavkari hotel is very nice place to make your weekend memorable. The food served here is very delicious and tasty. Variety of items attracted my tounge and mind. The place is on walkable distance from Prabhadevi railway station earlier Elphinston station. Mutton lovers should try special Gaavkari Mutton thali here. We had ordered the one along with Promphlet thali, surmai fry, promphlet fry, prawns masala. The other mouthwatering delicacies one should try are Pandhra rassa and solkadhi. The overall experience was superb. I would give 4.5 stars out of 5.
Explored this joint as it was listed on Zomato Gold and was in my adda. They don't have gold valid on the thalis, however that should not stop you from visiting this place. On the recommendation of the manager we tried the dry fry mutton and black chicken. Both were hits! Dry fry mutton was tender and had an explosion of taste. Same goes for the black chicken that was rooted with kholapui masalas that went well with the jowar bhakaris. To sum it up, don't judge the place by the location but the quality of food and service.
Kharada chicken thali, kala chicken thali and Alni chicken thali.. is must try... mutton dishes are also good... the rice served in thali is amazing with mutton curry... good service.. reasonable prices.. but no place for parking

VERY NICE PLACE FOR MAHARASHTRIAN VEG AND NON VEG FOOD.
Quite authentic Kolhapur fare. This place was a little difficult to locate but the food was really nice. I am vegetarian so the options were fewer but I really liked the bajra roti and bharwaan Baingan (stuffed eggplant) I had as well as the solkadhi drink which is great for summers. The staff is extremely polite and helpful and the seating is nice and comfortable, with air conditioning.

Please encourage this small family restaurant. Such businesses obviously need to be encouraged in the face of large chains gobbling up small family businesses.
Visited this place for a Sunday night dinner. The food was very delicious. Although they have different thalis, I would personally recommend to order chicken sukha and black chicken. Boneless chicken costs 40 extra per dish (totally worth it) and even chapatis were soft and large. Would also recommend to opt for fish fry. The catch is fresh and not deep fried.
Zomato gold users will love this place for one-on-one free dish. Nonetheless, other users can and should give this place a try. I am sure you will all love the food.
