Review The Barge - Mysuru (Mysore)

We were 2 people and ordered 2 pitchers and 3 dishes which cost us around 2900. Rooftop is close but they have good space for dance and all, open environment is the plus point.

The ambience here is delightful, and although I've gone for lunch, this place will be truly enchanting at night. The pleasant melodies fill the air, creating a vibrant atmosphere.

Food was normal as expected and atmosphere is just awesome. We visited Friday and karaoke event was there on same day. We really enjoyed our time. Price is bit more compared to other 3*/4* hotels.

Around Mysore accessible to the ring road, this is the best brew pub. Beer tasted mild and good. Food was good except the chilli fish. They played some decent music and service was great and pretty quick. There's enough parking space outside the pub so it's not a hassle at all. Would recommend this place in Mysore if you are trying to spend time with your friends with some beer

Excellent ambiance, great service and food a revelation. I loved it all. The beer fresh from the brew , pastas piping hot and melts in the mouth, chicken, each dish with its signature taste intact. Will get back again on the next Mysore visit. I rarely give a five star. They deserve it all

We went for lunch on a Sunday. The place has an open parking opposite to the restaurant. The outdoors seating was full so we took the indoor. Since the place was full it took little time to place the order. Service was quick and good. The taste and quality of food was also good. Their beer brew was top notch.. very refreshing.. we tried the wheat.. the outdoor seating allows guests to smoke. So if you don't want that smell then take the indoor.. it is a short drive from the GRS park.

Excellent place to get together, chat with family or whisper sweet nothing to your better half. 4 choices of craft beer and tasters are free :-) beer came with salted peanuts complimentary. The chicken tikka, dal tadka, and Kulchas were perfect. A bit on the spicy side but I'm sure they could tone it down if you asked. Oh and great music. Edit 26/3/23: went for lunch today and it was extremely hot. No fans, no AC. No shade for car/scooter parking. Avoid daytime. Food and craft beer great as usual.

Lovely Ambiance. Great Food. Definitely good beer 🍺 place. Staff are very well mannered. We went here in evening during T20 worldcup 2021. They have really good projector and screen enough to keep you entertained. Throughly enjoyed our evening here.

The best place to hangout with friends. Tried out some dishes and almost everything were good. A little expensive place. Service was a bit delayed. Must try: Fries, White sauce pasta, Masala peanuts, Wheat beer.

Chilled out place and ambience. They offer limited options for drinks and food. Available drinks are beer, wine and mocktails. They also offer 4 different crafted beer which are all good in terms of taste. Huge projector for screening matches live. Overall a great place to hang out with friends and family. One of the best fine dining restaurant in Mysore. The ambience is just amazing. Beautiful architecture and great space. The food is also more than satisfactory. Good price and heat service. Everything you want from a good restaurant. Must visit for all. Best recommends - the wheat beer, pizza(any, we tried 3 of them), chicken steak(continental), drums of heaven, BBQ chicken wings. These are few dishes that I remember. Other dishes were also amazing.

This Brewery always holds a special place in my timeline 💙 Been visiting Barge since 2016 and never once felt disappointed. I love their seating area which has multiple options i.e garden, common area, Private bay etc. Their Beers are unique and I love them especially German Ale and Stout beer. Food is on the expensive side though but once in a while it is ok to enjoy without having the stress of spending for exchange of quality time.

The food here is very bad. We ordered hot & sour soup which was less than average tasting. Along with the soup we ordered Masala Fries, Crispy corn, Virgin Mojito and Beer. I had never tasted such bad fries in my life. We could not even eat one fry completely, it was that bad. Corn was very mediocre. Virgin Mojito was a nightmare. it was so horrible that, one sip of it made me puke. Beer was also average. The people there are least bothered about the feedback. The treatment was not good at all.

This place is simply amazing. It's a great option in case you want to hang out with your friends. The place is known for its beer options and it has a good food menu to go along as well. What what even better was the karaoke night which escalates the ambiance to a whole new level. Decor, seating arrangement, area and service are all superb. Highly recommended.

I was there in Mysore for a few months so had visited this place once. One can easily give a 5 star for its ambiance. Its a very spacious place. They brew their own beer . They serve their food in a quite very presentable way. The food tasted so so , I won't say it was delicious but it was good.

The Barge is definitely a good place to visit . I have visited serveral brew pubs and restaurants, But The Barge must be truly appreciate started it here at Mysore. The team has pulled it off so smoothly. The ambience and interiors are really great.They have an amusing menu and mind blowing starters including the 4 varieties of beer they offer. But one thing they have to work is over their chicken main course where the chicken was dry and wasn't really fresh. But this is a must place to visit in town and also don't forget to ask for the free taste of beers to choose the one you desire according to your taste. The ambience is Marvelous. The price is totally worth. It is an amazing place to visit with your family and hangout with your friends.The servicing is okay and the presentation of the food is amazing. Let me call it the Microbrewery barge , this place is just fantastic and they brew Thier own beer, the ambience, setup and layout of the place is perfected in every way.<br/><br/>The beers are great, i had the wheat beer - aroma and body of the beer was how it was supposed to be light and mildly cloudy.<br/><br/>Food i had chicken lollipop it was ok. The mocktails were great and Mac and cheese was the winner full of cheese and super creamy.<br/><br/>This is my second visit here and wouldn't mind giving it a try again when I come back to Mysore. It’s one of the best places to chill in Mysore. There are a very few options available, but The Barge is an excellent place to hangout at. <br/>The day I visited this place, there was karaoke going on. It was really fun listening to people sing Kannada songs mostly. They even have their own micro brewery. To top it they offer 2+2 on zomato gold. <br/><br/>We ordered French fries, hara bhara kebab, chicken tikka, chicken chilli garlic noodles, pasta-E-fungi and veg Szechuan Fried rice. Food was good, not great. But it was surely better than what I’d expected. <br/><br/>The staff here is real sweet, they stayed back till midnight ‘cause we requested them to do so, as it was one of our friend’s birthday. They kept the cake ready and politely waited for us to finish celebrating before they could lock up the place.<br/><br/>Anyone who visits Mysore, please do give this place a try.

Beautiful ambiance, pleasant interiors and greenery though we could not really capture everything as it was night. One of the few breweries in Mysore. It was not crowded as it was a Sunday, they had live Bollywood Music.<br/><br/>Since Zomato Gold could be allowed only 1+1 on the house brews and we had just 2.5 beer drinkers ,we opted for Brewndavan and Bullionaire. Brewndavan was good. We had ordered a beer cocktail called Sandy Spiced which initially tasted like a sandy sherbet with flecks of cardamom but towards the end of the drink, when it was more concentrated, it was really good.<br/><br/>The food is unexceptional like most breweries I have been to. Here, the quantity is lesser than usual. We had the Nachos with salsa, BBQ chicken wings and a Paneer dish. All below average.<br/><br/>The live Bollywood music was nice but the recorded music of Bollywood and Kollywood was too loud with terrible choice of songs, it had a feel of some open air exhibition or something where they have blaring music, not sure if this has to do with the music system/speaker.<br/><br/>The service was courteous.<br/><br/>Go here for a great evening of beer in a great ambiance.

I unlocked Zomato gold on my phone and the waiter took my phone inside for a long time. I asked another waiter why he's taking so long. He was very rude and irritated about it and asked me to wait. His tone was disrespectful and the Manager came by then brushed it off like it didn't matter. And told me he needed the phone for the code. But for how long? I told them they should just write down the code on a paper like any other restaurant and that it is unprofessional for them to take an unlocked phone and just go inside somewhere we can't even see them. The manager didn't think it was a problem but asked us to eat. He was pretty much siding with the waiters. Then we just proceeded to have the food we got and all the waiters were terribly grumpy and rude. Good food though. Needs professional staff or train the existing ones to be more respectful even the manager.

This was way different from my Mysore experience I had so far and that to in Hebbal. The crowd was different, the ambience was different. Ohh, such a pleasant sight away from Bangalore.🤪<br/>The service was rather slow, the food was decent enough though. <br/>Not at all loved their beers. 🤭

I was at Mysore for few months, there I was looking for restraunt which provides good Chinese and north Indian food. If your looking for same then do visit this restaurant. Each and every dish which I have tried here is the best version of that dish.<br/>Dishes which I loved are:<br/>Alfredo pasta, spring roll, babycorn chilly, Manchurian, chilli garlic noodles, schezwan noodles, panner tikka masala, butter Nan etc<br/>Even they have different varieties in mocktail, beer and wine.<br/>Perfect place for a perfect evening.<br/>P.s: live music adds more colour to this place.

I am regular to this place. At lest twice in a week. Generally the place is good but for today’s visit I had an unpleasant experience waiter was rude and the beer was warm. Despite my informing the server he argued that it is always like this as I didn’t want to spoil my mood I paid and left. Went to kegs and pegs, another newly opened micro brewery. The place is great and the beer is chilled. The staff is polite over alll. I liked pegs and kegs better than the barge

We had an altogether bad experience especially with service provided. We had zomato gold offer and they didn't allow us the offer. We had unlocked the offer at the time of billTbey which they didn't allow. We had been to many restaurants in bangalore and Mysore and has availed gold offer but never had such an issue. The manager Mr. Mahesh was very rude and was not even ready to hear us out. We had ordered French fries which were unsatisfactory (not crispy and not seasoned properly) the barbecue chicken wings were also just satisfactory.

Worst experience ever. I have been to barge many times and lately they have started accepting Zomato Gold for 2+2. I have been to few other places and normally they ask to unlock the offer at the time of bill. But yesterday they refused to give offer saying that they were not informed prior to the order. It might be there is in the T&C but they could have given the simple service which they are paying to provide. Unbelievable people!!! for sticking on to the stupidest T&C. And lately few places which are already listed in the list have also stopped providing the Zomato Gold offers here in Mysore.

I felt the restaurant is just over-hyped. The beer was good but food was below average and overpriced for the quality and quantity we got.<br/>Manchow soup tasted like diluted tomato soup.<br/>Chicken lollypop was raw inside. Same thing was repeated even after complaining. They did not even ask if the mistake was rectified. There is something to be said about "customer service".<br/>Roti was dry and chewy, half of it was burnt.<br/>French fries was the only food item that tasted good

Just on the outskirts of Mysore, on the ring road, a nice little place that has creatively converted freight containers to a restaurant. 1 additional point to the idea of moving away from creating yet another concrete dungeon.<br/>Tried the wheat beer 'brewndavan' from the micro brewery and it was good. The soup (makai badam) and starters (corn fritters) turned out fine and so was the main course (garlic fried rice). The veg pizza was ordinary fare and that too the Mysore masala pizza was very hot with lots of chilli powder that any true mysorean would not agree to the title.... :-) Anyways, a nice try to bring in local feel.<br/>It has a nice little play area at the back to keep the kids occupied. Will go with a 3.5

Loved the ambience and the live music. The value for money is good and the starters were good too! We ordered the parmesan chicken farm as the main course. We expected more cheese, sauteed vegetables and atleast 2 breast pieces. We were also giving fries instead of mashed potatoes. That was a little bit of a let down but overall, had a good experience!

One of the best restaurants in Mysore which serves great food along with awesome craft beers. The ambience is pretty amazing. Quite unique, to be honest. We had ordered Apollo Fish, Chicken Tikka, Prawns Masala in starters and for main course, we had paneer butter masala and sabzi handi. All the dishes were great. But the main star was craft beer. It was just wow. Service was also good. The prices were little on high side but that thing is pretty subjective. Great experience.

First time I’m trying this restaurant. I must say they are generous with the serving and was happy with the quality of the food. Since I is also my first time in India why not try this.

Well the ambience of this place is amazing and ofcource the beer but service is really slow. And the funny thing we experienced was we kept asking for our order and it took so long for them to get it. We were full with starters but when our last starter came we ordered off during Coen Biryani cause it will come so late. But seeing the starter, we decided to cancel and we tell a person. N within few mins he comes with our Biryani. We just pack it. After some 20 mins our actual order had come. The Biryani was below average just small 3 pieces of chicken for 270. The chilly chicken was good.

I loved this place, was here with group of girls, what attracted me most was the ambience, open space, cool weather, perfect lighting, light music. Food was just point on, service and staff is very good, we tried Ale the king brewed beer and it was amazing taste.

Me and my lady were on a trip to Mysore and wanted to go to a place a bit aloof from city's hussle, luckily we found the Barge on Zomato. Pictures looked good and it somewhat resonated with the places we visit in Hyderabad. We ordered Pizza Primavera and Battered Onion Rings coupled with a few beers. I was in love with the ambiance and quality of food that was served. It was really fresh, tender and yumm! Beers were fresh and zingy. To top it all off, staff was quite courteous. So, I would really recommend anyone to go atleast once if you are in Mysore. Can't wait to visit again. Great job THE BARGE.

Starting from the vibrant ambience of this place to the warm and courteous staff and delightful food, the Barge was a wonderful experience. Their signature breweries are awesome, wheat being the best. The food is also delicious, pasta and non-veg is what I had. The only big drawback due to which only 4 is given. The prices do not justify the food and drinks. The place is recommended.

And the waiters take their own sweet time to do their stuff.. After visiting this place for the 4th time am writing this review.<br/>So this time we ordered Veg Alfredo Pasta, Elegant Butterfly Grilled Prawn and Cheesecake of the day which was ours favourite Blueberry Cheesecake.<br/><br/>°At present am running out of words to describe how mouthwatering the Pasta was. So tender and so cheesy. We fell head over heels in love with the pasta.<br/><br/>°Then came Elegant Butterfly Grilled Prawn served on a bed of mashed potato. This was heavenly, may be divine too. The prawns were soo juicy and tempting. After having this delicacy we literally reached in the 99th cloud. After a long time had such tasty mashed potato. Going to Barge and not having this means paying a visit to Barge is wasted🤣🤣.<br/><br/>°Next came our favourite dessert. Beautifully decorated and equally tasty. The taste of chicken biryani was awsome but the way the packing was done really horrible. The taste is important but the packing is also equally important.

Having spent alot of years in Mysore, it needed a place which stands out different from the local restaurants and fast food chains.<br/>The Barge can be considered as one such place because it offers a great combination of ambiance and good food.<br/>We ordered two pitchers of brewed beer (can't recollect the variety), small eats included Chili Paneer and Veg Platter. The taste and quantity was good.<br/>For main course, we ordered Farmers Vegetable Supreme Pizza and Chinese cuisine dishes.<br/>Overall, courtous and attentive staff made it better and of course the music was a pleasant add on too!

Use Google Maps to reach.<br/><br/>Parking<br/><br/>We went on a Saturday night, it was PACKED. Had to park much ahead and on the main road. No parking, no valet. <br/><br/>Reservation<br/><br/>First goof-up. <br/><br/>Had called around 7pm, knowing that this place would be in demand due to IPL season being on. The lady whom I spoke to took my name and said reservation is confirmed.<br/><br/>Upon reaching, was told they do not take reservations beyond 8 pm. One dumb manager told me he is instructed not to take reservations beyond 8 pm. I said first hear me out, but he was going on saying his own thing without having any sense to hear about my call and apparent reservation. <br/><br/>After making a bit of a hue n cry, one lady who apparently was the owner heard us out and offered a table. <br/><br/>Having a 2 year old and already 9 pm, we took it. The table was in the very corner, with no way to catch IPL. It was probably the 2nd worst table at this place. <br/><br/>2 tables were at a place which looked more like a passageway. Probably to not allow it to waste they haphazardly added 2 tables. <br/><br/>Service<br/><br/>Waiters were polite and friendly, however the service was very very slow.<br/><br/>We spent close to 2 hrs and all we ordered was Beer, Pizza, Falafel and French Fries. <br/><br/>Falafel took 45 mins to come, pizza took 20 mins and french fries took another 40 mins to come. <br/><br/>Food and Beer<br/><br/>What we ordered - <br/><br/>2 Golden Lager (Rs 160 each) - very good and fresh brew. Tried the IPA also which was equally good. <br/><br/>In Bangalore every place charge for Sampler, here they did not. Which was a good thing. <br/><br/>Falafel and Pita (Rs 210) - Falafel was decent, the PITA was very hard. Sour cream and hummus were very average. <br/><br/>Farmers Veg Supreme Pizza (Rs 335) - very very mediocre, super dry. Avoid PIZZA. <br/><br/>French Fries (Rs 165) - Cut shape fries, quite ok. <br/><br/>Pineapple Pastry (Rs 175) - this was screaming "I am full of artificial colours and essence." Terrible. <br/><br/>Damage to Wallet - Rs. 1249, quite a waste of money. <br/><br/>Should you visit? Probably on a weekday and not in IPL season. <br/><br/>I am unlikely to visit again.

Been to this place multiple times now.<br/>Starting with the location- it is situated in the outskirts of Mysore, just off the ring road.<br/>The place is beautiful and providing varied types of sitting arrangements.<br/>The place is famous as a brewery, but since I am a no beer person can’t comment on that.<br/>I would like to say the food here is good, with many options from different cuisines. The onion rings are not good, they have given it an odd twist. I personally do not like it. My all time favourite in this place is their California pizza, and they are sweet enough to give it half veg and half non veg, if you don’t have enough people to share the food.<br/>Desserts are fine, nothing extravagant.<br/>Cheese balls are good. <br/>Ambience is very nice.<br/>The place is beautiful.<br/>Would definitely recommend to friends and family.<br/>The service, well sometimes it can be slow. It's one of the happening place that you can find to chill out at weekend in Mysore but can't expect the same every weekend. Some weekends may disappoint you. At times, it would be too crowded and you will like to walk out. The food is really good and my best are the chicken salad and chocolate pastries /truffle (**my taste is bit less towards fries**😛). But make sure you order all your food before 10:30, especially at weekends otherwise you won't get it even it is a simple pastry which is already prepared inside..Enjoy!!🤟

Best place I’ve been to in mysore.<br/>They have their own Breweries with a perfect combination of indoor and outdoor sitting as well.<br/>Arrangements of special events put a cherry on the cake. Food is delicious.<br/>Quantity served is little less so that should be taken care of.

This is one of the few hifi, eventful restaurants in Mysore. The crowd is mostly young college students. Food is average and service is delayed. Ambience is very good with a huge backyard and ampitheatre.

In mysore when you starving for some good food The Barge provides it with an excellent ambience.<br/>we visited this place a week back and the Barge didn't fail to impress us.<br/><br/>The staffs were polite and friendly.<br/>We ordered Barge special biriyani which was one of its kind, chicken biriyani,Farmers vegetable supreme pizza which was mind blowing, Masala kulcha, some chicken and mutton items. They were really well cooked. Though the show stealer was the Craft beer 🍻. Heard quite a few positive reviews about this place and thought to give it a try. The place definitely lived up to its glowing reviews. We ordered a couple of pitchers of brewndavan.. superb flavor, felt fresh and smooth! absolutely loved it! Starters standouts were the ajwain fish and kalmi kebab and American corn and pepper baby corn. For mains, veg biryani was excellently made. The ambience was chilled and relaxed. The service was good. Overall excellent food and beer and ambience! Recommended!

Great place for a nice evening out. Awesome ambience. Quite crowded but still nice. Great food. And great Beer! A must place if you are in mysore. This is my first time here but definitely will visit again when I visit mysore.

One of coolest cafes in Mysore. Well decorated and beautiful ambience.Good quality and quantity of food. The best thing about this place is they serve freshly brewed beer from their own brewery. According to me the grilled fish fillet with smashed potato is the must try dish.

This is very interesting place. A variety of seating options all from old containers give it a cute look. The beers are made on site and are fresh and light. The outdoor seating are also fantastic. The keema pav and was great as was the tandoori chicken. <br/>When we pointed out that the chicken was a little under , they immediately replaced it. A pleasant evening overall.

This review is only for the food as I am not into beers. Tried tandoori chicken,masala peanuts,chicken wings and some other chicken items. Everything is so good. had authentic chicken wings after a long time. It's very hard to find such tasty wings as most of the places the sauce will be sweet. The lager beer is lovely, grilled fish dish is also very decent,so is the pasta. But never, never order the pizza. It is beyond just horrible! Low quality sour cheese (far from being mozzarella) undercooked dough. Around 340 for this masterpiece :/

This restaurant offers a very good ambience especially in night. On every Wednesday there is a karaoke night hosted there and that is lot of fun. The food is also awesome. Perfect for a family outing and dining.

As you look at the barge, the first thing that strikes you is the accuracy of the name. This place is hands down one of the most innovative-looking restaurants I've ever seen. I'm not sure if it's true but the restaurant looks like it was designed inside shipping containers. The open space around the restaurant also provides many opportunities for the dp changing clientele 😝<br/><br/>We ordered chicken schezwan noodles, Alfredo pasta, cheesecake, chocolate mousse, black forest pastry, and brownie sundae. The Ambience is one of the best. Quesadillas were oily, not great for Mexican food. The bar tender kept staring at us, seated in a table across Him. Staff has to catch up on customer service. However, quite innovative and well done for a good evening with their indoor and outdoor seating.<br/><br/>Beers: the wheat beer is my favourite. It's got a slight pungent and a slight sweet taste and is perfect with theit food.<br/>Moctials: their mocktails, are on point, with generous amounts of flavour to satisfy your taste buds.<br/><br/>Food: their food, though good, has really small quantity.<br/>Their drums of heaven and Indian starters are all flavourfula fn tasty. Their Quedsilla, though was served really less, was good.<br/><br/>P.s. I highly suggest one go here for the drinks, more than the food.<br/><br/>Overall rating: 4.5
