A small restaurant lost in the packed crowd of other big eateries but is well known for its unique cuisine or food. The owners of the place are friendly with never a dull moment around. The food is really good and is pocket friendly. U can fill your stomach in a mere 300 rupees. My fav is the buttery chicken bunny chow. And NO they do not sell bunny meat...

Is a new outlet at Belapur with an interesting menu. Was pleasantly surprised with the taste and quality the first time I visited. Been there a few times now and find it worthy of a review. It has limited seating options , so a large group may find it tough to b comfortable. Eatin is best , avoid takeaways specially for their signature dish shakshouka. Do have their large portions. Delicious .

Bunny Chow offers a very good experience and a combination of absolute delicious recipes. I have visited many times, they never disappoint. They have added some new dishes as per indian cuisine which I must say have come out pretty well.
As per your capacity of spice they have perfect choices for you to make. Durban chicken is great if you like a little spicy food, chicken teekha masala if north Indian is your style, butter chicken and shakshouka if you are in for treating yourself with a light delicious dish.

As I visited this place recently with my friend. I tried their signature DURBAN CHICKEN CURRY and I was impressed. The combination of curry and chicken was amazingly delicious.
If you're around Belapur and looking for a quick bite, then this is the place to visit.

Bunny Chow, a newly opened place in Sector 11, C.B.D. Belapur has nothing to do with Rabbits or China.

Popularized by Indians living in South Africa, Bunny Chow is Curry served in a Bread Bowl which is prepared by hollowing the bread loaf or bun and filled with Curry. Available in different varieties, Bunny Chows taste best when served with red meat curry.

Dressed in yellow, Bunny Chow is an easy to spot place and has a great ambience. The owner is a good conversationalist and will tell you the tale of Bunny Chow’s origins. The menu offers a good selection for vegetarians and non vegetarians and each recipe is re-tailored to suit the Indian taste buds. We ordered a Durban Chicken Curry, Shakshouka and BBQ Cheese Fries.

Durban Curry (3/5)

Chicken cooked with onions, tomatoes, chillies & lots of curry leaves for the south Indian touch, topped with carrots and onions.

Shakshouka (3/5)

Eggs poached in a sauce of onion, tomato and capsicum, the idea of serving Shakshouka in a bun is great.

BBQ Cheese Fries (4/5)

Potato fries with a drizzle of Barbeque Sauce & Cheese.

Taste (3.5/5)
Ambience (5/5)
Service (5/5)
Value for money (3.5/5)

A must visit place for all foodies

Check out the pictures.

It’s my regular place. I visit this joint almost twice every week. Though I don’t usually go for the bunny chows, I like the gravies it has to offer. A nice little joint — calm and quiet. I often have great conversations with the owner-duo brothers.

A recommendation would be more dishes and possibilities on customisations. Cheers to the place 👍🏼

I got a vegetarian one (paneer teekha masala). It was a takeaway, and for the first time my wife said, “let’s get another one”. For a vegetarian dish... that’s a complement from a bong who breathes non-vegetarian.

Looking forward to the Durban mutton curry.... see you soon

The food was absolutely wonderful, from preparation to presentation, very pleasing. We especially loved Durban Chicken and butter panner
Something unique

Had ordered fish and chips from Bunny Chow. The order took around forty five minutes to get delivered. The dish consists of three fish fingers topped with mayo and served over a bed of french fries (not chips). Chips tend to be thicker, but they serve french fries.

Would have been great if the fish would have been freshly caught fish instead of the fish fingers. Fresh catch fish fried in batter served with the chips would have tasted great!

Bunny chow..sounds interesting, so went over to this little place expecting to find something good, but it wasn’t very pleasing. We ordered a mushroom and chicken cheese gravy bunny chow, which was absolutely bland. And the only good thing over there were the fries. Bunny chow is a great concept which was popularised by Indians living in African countries a long time ago.

Bunny Chow is a new, small and cozy cafe serving delicious food in CBD Belapur. Located at a mere walking distance from the CBD Station, it has an indoor seating arrangement.

The place got its name from a dish invented by indian immigrants in South Africa. The dish involves serving hot delicious curry in the middle of a hollow scooped out bread/bun centre. We tried their butter chicken bunny chow which was delicious and yummy. Certainly an experience for everyone to have. Would recommend people to try all the different varieties across their menu ❤

Finally a place with something this rare but simple and pure. You'll definitely appreciate the flavour of mutton, and the fresh bread just compliments it.
Must try atleast once if you're a foodie.!!

This restaurant has a story!

So bunny chow, as it turns out is a dish invented and served by Indian community living in South Africa. It's available in England as well.

So the dish was unique in its style of serving and taste. I called for Paneer Makhani Bunny Chow. It is akin to the center of a burger bread scooped out to be filled with Paneer Makhani/Chilly/ Chole/ many options like that.

The 2nd picture is that of fried rice and paneer chilly. They also serve jeera rice.

Worth a visit for the experience. Mr. Sameer is a gracious host!

Absolutely loved it!!

The dish "Bunny chow" was something I never heard of.. today I got to know that this invention was something Indians living in South Africa made.

It's basically curry served in hollow bread/bun.

Tried the paneer tikha masala bunny chow along with cheese chilli fries. The paneer curry was so so good.

Would be visiting this place again

This cute little place has recently opened near Belapur railway station, which specializes in serving a popular South-African dish named, Bunny Chow. The history says that the dish was invented by the Indian immigrants living in Durban at the time.

The concept of this dish basically involves a hot, piping curry - options for Paneer, Chicken, Mutton & Keema - housed inside a hollow bread bowl. I tried the BUTTERY PANEER BUNNY CHOW on my visit there and I was impressed! The curry was soo, soo good, and the regular portion was perfectly sized for an individual to enjoy.

My friend on the other hand tried their signature DURBAN CHICKEN CURRY and he absolutely loved it. We also happened to try the Chilli Cheese Popper Fries from their menu. The sauces were good, the fries however, needed a little improvement as they weren't as crispy as one would expect. Nevertheless, worth trying.

In my opinion, if you're in or around Belapur looking for a quick bite, then this is the place to visit! Is it authentic? "Well, the sizzle has been brought down to suit the Indian palette, but it's close enough", says the owner Mr. Sameer who is a very enthusiastic person, has done his research and will guide you through the concept and the menu. Overall, Bunny Chow is a fairly decent place to visit and definitely worth a try.

The place is small, refreshing and chic with friendly and courteous staff who are willing to serve and help. The regular bunny chow looks small but is truly filling for a single person. I assume a large one would be more than enough for anyone's appetite. The food was nice with a zingy spicy flavour and the chef was kind enough to modify the dish as per my requirement. What I found wonderful and suprising is that the Cold drinks and Bottled water are charges at thier MRP which is absolutely fantastic to see and should be followed at all restraunts IMO. The prices are quite affordable and inclusive of GST and service charges so that's one more plus. Overall really happy with my first impressions will update this review after trying the other dishes.
So, dont get confused with the name of the place. I thought of having some Chow/noodles here at this recently opened cute little mini restro but instead ended up having a dish called "Bunny Chow" originally popularised by Indians In South Africa. Its like a bun bread sliced from d top n scooped out from d bottom and filled with a spicy curry originally made with mutton.

I tried d Durban Chicken Curry as suggested by d host. It was Awesome!!! The gravy was Spicy, tangy and flavourful with a few chunks of Chicken all juicy n tender and the bread was soft n fresh. Indian spices were nicely used in the dish which I liked very much since the spicyness was not due to red chilly but more of whole Garam Masala which I later discussed with the host n he explained very nicely. Overall it was a great experience. Little resemblance with kheema pao but with a different twist for which I am definitely going to visit again soon n explore. Totally pocket friendly! Better for evening Snack particularly in this rainy season or even for dinner.

A first, something completely different from your usual quick bite. The idea itself was so refreshingly new; a loaf of bread filled with yummy gravy where you can dunk in and enjoy to your hearts content with their really good sized portions. Definitely will be visiting again. 👍🏽

Bunny chow, a new interesting place in CBD Belapur. Bunny chow, is actually a South African fast food, first introduced by the Indian community in Durban. So it's basically curry served in hollowed out bread or bun.
I tried the Durban mutton bunny, it was awesome, spicy gravy with chunky mutton within soft bread. The regular portion is good enough for one person .

The other thing we tried was the veg chole methi with Rice, it was a little edgy in terms of flavouring nothing expectional, probably it would have tasted better with bread.
The place is small and bright, with indoor seating.

Verdict:
Food: 5/5
Ambience: 4/5
Value for money: 4/5

Will visit again for trying out the other varieties of bunny.

Bunny Chow was delicious
I love the options available. They make the gravy and fill the Bread bun with it.
Nice Indian Twist!

We tried Teekha and Durban chicken and both were delicious.
The portion is perfect (regular goes right for 1 person)

However, the sides were not impressive. Fish and chips has just 3 fish fingers served on a bed of fries. Fish portion should be increased while decreasing the chips quantity

Chilly chicken fries is basically french fries topped with chilly chicken. Would be great if you can mix it up instead of just topping (Why: because everyone finished the chilly chicken part and we were left with just bland french fries!)

Overall, I loved the bunny chow. Definitely would visit again (or order if you guys start swiggy and zomato delivery)

If you are looking for something different , value for money but suits ur Indian palate then bunny chow should definitely be on your list. Basically it was invented by Indians in South Africa and has different curries dipped inside bread. My personal favourite is the Durban Chicken and Egg Shakshouka which was simply amazing. Also worth trying is the Agri mutton which seems to be made with homemade spices, Chilli garlic chicken and chicken in mushroom sauce. So if you are ever around Belapur station do check out this place .

This seems to be a quick bite place but u are full by the time you leave.we had the authentic Durban chicken but the chilli garlic bunny chow was much better. The cost for 2 is 500 not 300.i think there should be more options as it has an extremely specialized menu......beverages aren't available except soft drinks... those should be increased....otherwise a good try.......
