Review Bukhara - New Delhi

Elena Williams
Make a reservation, do not turn up without one otherwise you may have a long wait! The food was superb, the portions are large, so be prepared to share dishes unless you are VERY hungry or greedy. The food is also quite pricey, so also another good reason to share. The Indian sparkling wine was delicious and the dessert sent me to heaven. I found the seating uncomfortable, but otherwise the decor is nice. The atmosphere is lacking something, not sure what.

Bukhara is not just a restaurant, it's almost a historical place. A place that has stood the teest of time for almost 4 decades and never felt threatened by competition. They have never changed their menu and have hosted the who's who of the world including Mr Bill Clinton. The Dal Bukhara priced at 1000++ is something that has become synonymous with this place is so creamy and gpes well with the Bukhara Naan priced at 2200++. The Reshmi kebabs (Almost like a small portion of Sikandari Raan) , the paneer tikka and Bharwa Aloo are nice too. The kulfi and Rasmalai were killer though. For six of us for this much food the bill came to around 23700/- but then this is Bukhara. .

Wherever we ended up in the country, people knew about this restaurant, and it’s clear it’s built up quite the reputation, and deservedly so. We stumbled upon it by accident the first time around but it quickly became clear it was somewhere special, from the photos of dining celebrities on the wall and a host of awards and press articles. The decor also immediately makes an impression for feeling really authentic - low tables and fabric stools, with bare brick walls and lots of hidden nooks to the dining area make it unique alone. The tables are laid well, with traditional feeling plates, napkins and copper cups for the complimentary water which is frequently brought. It was a shame there were no menus, instead with us directed to use a mobile device and QR code. While the menu isn’t the largest this still makes it more difficult to read. While not awfully great with English, the staff were happy to try offer recommendations and explain some of the dishes. There’s the full drink menu which you’ll find in the rest of the hotel bars / restaurants and all the service is very fast and professional. The food is well presented and also brought in good time. What I still cannot get over though are the flavours - truly amazing. You must absolutely order the daal which remains the most memorable dish from my entire visit to the country, and the different breads are equally as impressive. If you can get a table near the kitchen seeing these breads prepared is a delight but with the popularity you’re never in a position to debate where you’re sat! It’s certainly not a cheap place, and more suited to special occasions, but if you’re in the area you must try it out. It’s so good we had to return a couple of days later and I’d do so again!

I finally got a reservation at this famous restaurant Bukhara ! Most of the food was quite delicious , lots of different flavours all mixed together is such harmony . The big naan bread was very disappointing as it was quite dry and flavourless, but it looked quite spectacular as they brought it out and then placed it in the middle of the table. We took the set menu option A , We had more food than we could finish . But my favorite part was the desert . Some delicious ice cream . Overall , I was happy to have tried this restaurant that I had waited for such a long time . The price is more on the steep side . ( but I guess this has become the new Normal) The service was at first confusing and frustrating , but our waiter was quite a nice gentleman and we finally were able to order . One thing that I found to be odd was that they expected us to eat the food with our fingers as no cutlery was provided . As a courteous they gave us some .

I was completely blown away by the tatste of the food and the presentation of it. I had been staying in Delhi for almost a decade but could never visit this place for a definite reason that the location is inside a hotel- ITC Maurya. Secondly, it is not commonly known among college goers of its popularity. Anyway, that is not of any concern right now. Because, finally, I visited the place with my family members and family friends, and I must say it was worth visiting here. The food ordered was very tasty, and it was definitely finger lacking. 😋 Especially Sikandari raan (Mutton) and Daal Bukhara. The famous Naan of this place was also good to have with Non- veg ordered. I could not taste the other dishes but would love to have it if I get an opportunity. The services were good and the staff were courteous as well. Hope to visit here again. Note: The seat requires a booking. Otherwise, you can not walk in and get the place. You require at least a week booking before visiting the place.

This iconic place has been on my bucket list for a very long time. The food is without any doubt outstanding, as well as the the staff is very attentive and friendly. The overall experience at the BHUKHARA will give a pleasant feel of the best in class food with a team of world class chef’s providing you the food. We ordered the most famous item here i.e DAL BHUKHARA along with the soft butter naan. The potful, butter swim dal is enough to remind you to count your calories for the week. Their menu is limited with only the north indian items, which is helpful in deciding the options. Malai Chicken of this place is a must try, we tried the tandoori paneer and the fish fry. But prawn is one more dish to remember. The staff behaviour is very nice, all the necessary covid protocols were also followed. Make sure you book your table 1 hr before.

The place is worth trying. The ambience is peaceful, cozy and sophisticated. I tried their famous Dal Bukhara and tandoori seekh kebab. The quantity of dal was okayish but naan and Parantha were huge in size. Especially, Naan was the size of their dinner plate. Hot from tandoor, the taste of food is amazing. Seekh kebab was juicy, fresh and delicious. Pro tip- Do have a good budget before you dine over here.
Gursheel Dhillon
Decent food but their Dal Bukhara was definitely the winning dish. Service team were great. Just wished the chairs were a little more comfortable to sit on. Beautiful decor though.

Bhukara is a world renowned restaurant for authentic Mughal cuisine. Their kebabs and daal are exquisite and unmatched anywhere in the world. This is one of those restaurants worth flying halfway around the world to experience.

Perfect delicious 😋. They were very flexible for my reservation after getting stuck in Delhi traffic. Overall definitely get an order of the black lentils and 2 naan with them. You cannot go wrong with this signature dish!

This is the epitome of Indian / Frontier Food. For the kebab lover it feels like you have died and gone to heaven. The only thing that is better than the food is their ambience. Don't miss the Dal Bukhara, the Bharwani Kuclha, the murg malai kabab
Kam Desai
Incredible food and service. Definitely try the giant naan, the khurchan and the dhaal. One of the best places in Delhi hands down.
JP
Excellent food in a unique atmosphere. Check out the photos of Bill Clinton and other celebrities who have dined here. I can highly recommend the kebobs. Please note, you‘ll have to order your sides separately. The cocktails were very good, too,

You need to have a table reservation days in advance if you are not staying in Itc. This is one of the most finest restaurant of the country, specialising in Indian and Mughlai cuisine. This place serves the best ever dal makhani in this world, I’m not even exaggerating, you got to eat yourself to believe. They also have a record of world biggest naan, which is good to order if you are in a bigger group. Staff is very friendly. Love every dish on the menu!

The staff is highly unprofessional and irresponsible. I had a friend who had to go back to his country so I decided to take him here on lunch. I called the evening prior for a reservation but no one answered my multiple phone calls. When I called the next day no one answered. No one bothered. When I reached the restaurant I was asked to wait for 1 hour with my flight counter running down. I had to make multiple requests for a table a d finally I got one after 30 minutes while the staff let people who've come after me get inside. I was looking forward to the food but my entire experience was ruined and I could not even enjoy the food. Bukhara has gone from being my favourite restaurant to the least favourite one. Wonder how long they'll last with that foul attitude. All the best.

One of the best and safest place to dine in the country right now. Surely a visit is a must. The warmth of staff and the delicious food just makes it a special occasion every time.

Bukhara is back with a bang. Empty tables and Bukhara never went together, so it was odd to find the six-seater table next to us empty. The plates came packed with paper. And every table was sanitised painstakingly. These were the things that are different at Bukhara.

What wasn’t different was the dal, it was delicious and divine, as always. Or the reshmi kabab, which was exquisite. The tandoori jhinga was sumptuous and succulent. And the phirni subtly fragrant and delicate. Devender’s service set the tone, and made the occasion even more special. Deepanshu’s hospitality was top-notch, as was his penchant for making the dinner memorable. So good to be back at Bukhara! #itcmaurya #itchotels

Totally In love with the traditional decor and their concept of eating food with our hands instead of spoon and forks, typically depicting Indian culture. Ordered dal Bukhara and naan with chicken kebabs , loved the taste . The price is bit high but it’s totally worth it !!

One of the reason to visit this place is Daal Bukhara. This restaurant has a limited menu and with quality food. But I consider it as an average place to have dinner. Ambience, food variety & food taste everything is average.

Went there during the ongoing pandemic, the safety standards are high without compromising on the luxury, the food was as good as always, the staff was really friendly and helpful specially Surendar

Soul satisfying food as always!!!!! Amazing service and staff, Special mention to Mr Deepanshu for lovely hospitality! Loved it

Had an amazing dine out after 6 months , the team looked after us.
Jeetendra and Devender were extra caring and ensured our comfort and served us well

Visited today for lunch. Provided with a really congested, low lying table and stools for 2 which was really hard to adjust to. People going in and out right behind your back which was very uncomfortable. We just wanted to finish our meal and leave. Waiters seemed in a hurry to serve the food via a platform.
The quantity of their dal is very less.
We had an issue with gloves not being changed or sanitised by waiters for 3 hours but it was cleared by their staff person that they sanitize after cleaning a table.
Safe place during this time to dine in

It was great to be back after almost 6 months the food was exceptional as usual but the service was even better Mr Jitender and Mr Devéñder made us feel right at home with their hospitality

I went to ITC Bukhara on my birthday, made a reservation in advance. I was a bit hesitant considering it was my first outing post the Covid outbreak. From the moment I entered their premises to having lunch , I was extremely impressed by all the safety measures that were taken. No valet so that no one touches your car. My table was sanitised along with all the cutlery. No contact while serving the food or drinks and of course an extremely friendly staff. I would highly recommend it to the food lovers. The food was amazing, the best naan I have ever had 😊

Loved the food more than that absolutely loved the service given by Devender Patwal and J Bhatt from taking care of every small requirement from arranging food for 1 year they even managed to arrange cake at the last moment for us within 5 mins at 12. Super quick attentive and nice to us.
And during Covid social distancing and other precautions were taken care of very deeply by both of them.

We had a wonderful evening with family. The food was wonderful. Our server, Mr. Surendra, suggested the best options for Cocktails and Breads. We had a wonderful time there :) The food was really good and worth every penny, and the service by Mr. Surendra was commendable.

The very first thing- This restaurant serves A la carte only. It's kind of an experience to be there. As we are vegetarians, so we ordered Paneer tikka and mocktails in starters, it had a balanced taste, not too spicy and not too dull. Then we ordered the famous Dal Bukhara and a naan and bharwan kulcha to go with it. Dal was quiet heavy and very filling. For the people who want to check the expected expense, we paid 5700 INR for the dining.

The service is great but the appetizers are average, similar to any other restaurant in delhi. We had the cauliflower and chicken seekh. It is famous for dal makhani which is cooked for 24 hours, but I found it sweet an having too much butter.

I was on a weekend trip to Delhi with my wife. We were staying in TAJ Palace so we decided to have Saturday night dinner at the Bukhara - ITC Maurya since I came to know it is quite famous for its special preparation " Dal Bukhara ". We ordered the Dal Bukhara, Murgh Malai Kebab and Butter Naan along with a Virgin Mojito and a Mojito.

First of all, all the safety measures were followed meticulously by the serving staff, they served the food without coming into contact with us even once. Sanitiser was also provided at the table.

The food was delicious but I must say it's quite high priced and certainly the most expensive restaurant I've ever eaten at in India. Worth the experience though.
Extremely safe during these times. Thanks to Deepanshu Arora for great service. Dal Bukhara is out of the world experience.

So finally I visited this hyped fine dinning place and stepped out for the first time after lockdown. The place definitely lived up to my expectations. The ambience is super cool. Proper sanitisation protocols were being followed from adding glass in between the seatings to sanitized cutlery to following 2 feet distance by serving the food on a bat style platform. Tried Tandoori salad, butter naan, pineapple raita and the signature Dal Bhukhara. Everything was amazing. Really liked Tandoori salad- must try. The mocktails( kiwi and orange-pineapple flavoured) were okayish. The staff was courteous and helped with the menu and other instructions. They encourage eating by hand but provide you with spoons/folks if required. Overall a great place to celebrate special occasions and enjoy North Indian food with super cool vibes all around. Must visit place.

Words are less to talk about this place. Excellent food and hospitality.

Dal Bukhara is lip smacking. You cannot afford to miss it. Phirni is divine and surely something to die for.

They are following best practices for sanitization. So you can come and dine with complete peace of mind.

Sincere thanks to Deepanshu for a warm welcome to this place and Devender for being the best host one could ever think while dining.

Just loved it.

Thank you Bukhara for this experience.

We celebrated our engagement anniversary at Bukhara. We were wowed by the safety steps taken. Social distancing, sanitization everything was followed.. tables had santizers and the cutlery was all covered and packed . Lovely experience. Lovely food. Mr. Dipanshu was very warm and cordial. We were served by Mr Bharat and Mr Vinod - both on their toes to make is happy. Special mention to the lady who showed us to our table(Sorry didn't get her name) she made sure she wishes us both at the start and end of our visit which was so cute. Thanks a lot ITC Maurya. Time spent well 😄

Devender Patwal served us really well and it was a great experience! Dal bukhara is my all time favourite...amazing food!!!!

One of the best north indian meals I ever had. Bukhara is surely worth a visit during such time. A complete safe dining experience with such delicious food. Sanitized tables, sanitized tableware, reserved for your safety tablecards. Also they have started serving alcohol now. Thank you so much for such a brilliant dinner. I would recommend everyone to visit it atleast once.

The lady at the call centre seems to be from Indian Railways, before me completing, she transferred the call to, May be Bukhara, and there too was an automated msg, asked me to leave the name and number.

Food was good, ambience was also nice.
We had ordered basic north Indian food and it was tasty. Itc says it all.
Service was great and they maintain good hygiene.

It was an amazing experience and a very safe and sound environment.

One of the best place to dine for North Indian food. The amazing kebabs and the Dal Bukhara is just something that anyone can die for. Probably the only restaurant in Delhi who have developed a complete safety program for the safety of its employees and the guests. They maintain space between each table. Plates are sanitizer and covered. Also, they won’t come to the table to serve but just serve the food on a bat maintaining a distance.

For my birthday, my fiance opted for this place. The food is super-amazing and it's good to see that the safety of the guests is given utmost importance. Thumbs Up..👍

For the first time in 6 months, our family stepped out to dine at a restaurant. It was my dad's birthday and we decided to go to Bukhara - our favourite over the years. The raan and dal bukhara were on point as always - the tandoori salad, breads, pineapple raita were great too. They even made a special murgh malai chicken with no spices for my younger sister (as per her dietary restrictions/preference). The lovely chocolate birthday cake they served us at the end was just the cherry on top of the icing. Mr. Devender Patwal was the staff member who took care of us and he made sure we really enjoyed our experience. The #WeAssure initiative undertaken by ITC was also in action and it was great to see them giving us the luxurious service we've come to expect while adhering to all safety standards.

Loved the food. Safest place to have indian food. Sanitized tableware and crockery. QR codes to scan the menu. The detox mocktails were something that no other restaurant is doing during this pandemic. Keep up the good work. Will bc back soon.

Bukhara is absolutely safe place to dine in.
I had an amazing experience and esp with deepanshu, he has made the experience memorable and would love to visit again !!
Thank you to all of you for great food and amazing dine in.

We went there after they reopened and the experience was great. Immaculate safety standards- not even once we felt unsafe.
The dal as usual was great, something we missed dearly. Would love to go again.

Best and safest place to dine in. Loved the food and precautions taken to ensure safe dining. Thank you team Bukhara for reopening and providing the same experience. The tableware is sanitized which is also a great initiative.
Went to dine in the restaurant. Its a safe and must place to visit even during COVID. All the plates were very well sanitized and the staff was as well maintaining hygine and the food was also served from a distance. Mr. Depanshu treated us very well. He kept visiting our table to ensure if we are comfortable. You can visit this place without any second thought. All precautionary measures are being taken by Bukhara. Its a safe place to visit.

This is my first review after COVID and I am so excited to write about my fav restaurant Bukhara! I had apprehensions before going out to dine after this long but the precautions and efforts the team is taking for our safety is simply commendable! I was relaxed when I saw that every little things is taken care of to prevent possible infection under
We Assure. Even the menus are no touch and scanned by the codes!
Plus, the food was Bukhara’s usual delicious. The staff was prompt and friendly like always.
If you’ve to dine anywhere while being safe, I would recommend only Bukhara.
Ayushi Dewan
I went to Bukhara for the first time after COVID 19. I would like to praise the team for their We Assure initiative wherein the smallest things are taken care of to maintain safety of the customers from any possible infection. The seating has been rearranged and distancing is strictly followed. There are temperature checks before entering the restaurant and at no point is the safety compromised.
The food was delicious and the staff was very welcoming. For the first time in months, my family and I had a good day together. Kudos to the team.

ITC Bukhara is my favourite place to be! I was so happy to dine there again after the lockdown. The food tasted just as yum as always. Strict social distancing and no touch hygiene protocols are being followed under their We Assure initiative. Even the menu menu is no touch and is read through the QR codes. The best part was that despite all of it, the ambience was just as welcoming as ever.. Bukhara lovers must go to dine at the restaurant ASAP!

Food and service was great as usual. Devender served us really well. Restaurant took all safety precautions: very limited seating, servers did not touch the food at all. Great experience

We love this restaurant and the service !! Have been coming here since 10 years !!! Devender serve us and he is fantastic !! And they are following all social distancing norms !! Must go here !!
Arvind Soni
The restaurant has opened today. It was totally sanitised and the touchless service was immaculate! Mr Devender Patwal was fantastic as he served us without even coming near and the whole experience was unbelievable! Food was fresh and as amazing as ever ! Felt totally safe having our meal
Taanya Khanna
This place is very sophisticated and equally expensive. You must have at least 6K in your pocket if you want dinner for two. We just had the dal Bukhara and naan and felt poor after paying the bill. But must say the experience was worth it.

There are some restaurants which are not only recognised in India, but are famous worldwide. And there are some dishes which are trademark of such places. I realised this after Mrs. Leena Arora recommended the infamous 'Daal Bukhara' at Bukhara, ITC Maurya. This isn't your traditional Dal Makhni, but a different dish which is cooked to perfection and a very strong flavour of Garlic in it - a flavour truely unique distinctly memorable. Overall, the service was the usual 'ITC standard' - very courteous and pampering. Rest of the north indian dishes and dining experience were par excellence and world class but the Dal clearly stole the show! No wonder this place is frequented by celebrities, experts and food lovers alike.
Abhinav Bansal
I visited this place last year.
1.Staff behaviour who was assigned to my table was very bad.
2. We had to wait for 1 hour even after reaching there.
3. We had to again wait for 45 minutes for dal Bukhara to come to our table.
4. DAL BUKHARA WAS GOOD.

They need to work on management staff otherwise no one just come for dal Bukhara.

This is a review from a person who is big foody and visited many hotels and know what a good management is and a good staff is.
Chirag Sainani
This was a place i visited just before #lockdown. This place without any saying id one of the best places to have north indian food. I tried paneer tikka and dal bukhara over here both were excellent. Would love to visit this place again. One of the best places in delhi.

This looks awesome and impressive
Tikka were awesome and the seek kebab were very delecate and mealts in mouth

One of top most place in Delhi, Bukhara - ITC brand ....Amazing food quality and services...Really love everything...
Minty Affairs
It was in my wishlist since so long. Finally got a chance to visit this one. Absolutely amazing it was. The menu is quite small but everything out there was worth trying. Naan bhukhara and raan bhukhara really stood out for me. And in desserts, we really liked gulab jamun and ras malai!

There are some restaurants in Delhi which are not only recognised at Indian level but are famous worldwide! Bukhara at ITC Maurya is one such place! We went there for one such dish which is Daal Bukhara and believe me its not daal makhani..its a different dish which is cooked to perfection and a very strong flavour of Garlic in it..a taste worth remembering! Its an experience to have food here, you can spot celebrities easily at this place enjoying food at tables just next to you! A top class fine dine experience with world class service!

The restaurant has a great ambiance and has spacious seating. I ate dal Bukhara and it was fabulous. The food was great and totally worth the price. The naan was also tasty. I wish to revisit this place again in the future.

Hiya foodies

Went to this amazing restaurant a few months back ♥️🙈 and gotta tell you what a great ambiance and delicious food they serve.
Nakul Gupta
Too busy with a 40-60 min and do not take phone or online bookings.
Seating is uncomfortable with moorhas.
Ambience is not worthy of a five star not worth fine dining.
Food is good but service is not good.
Breads are served without cutting.
When asked about these flaws answer is a simple that it's been the same in 40 yrs.
Darshan Vakani
one of the most hyped Punjabi restaurant in world , restaurants dal bukhara is very famous a must try one . naan so huge . interior and service is very good must visit place

The ambience is great. Unique atmosphere. The food was incredible. The staff was attentive and friendly... Good wine and cocktail selection.

Well couldn’t get a chance to eat as US president Donald Trump was staying at the hotel and I wasn’t aware of this. Still giving 5 stars because of the legacy of the restaurant and the kind of popularity it enjoys considering the fact that even the first family of the United States of America opted for it above other more luxurious places
Mallika.banati
The raan was a little undercooked. But on the whole the meal was amazing. Love the dal makhani and the naan was so huge ♥️. This is a must visit once in delhi. It’s too good

Went there yesterday for dinner after 11 years as my hubby is a big fan of dal bukhara. He's very crazy for its Dal. Although i personally nit like it so much . I think it's overhyped. It is okayish , have eaten much better at other places. What I really like was their naans. We ordered naan Bukhara which was sufficient for 8 people and the khasta roti which was very crispy . We had paneer tikka also. That was ok. We ordered 3 daal makhani for 8 people. The ambience is sophisticated, not much showbaazi. Staff is courteous. One thing which i really dislike was their waiting time , it took 90 minutes for us to get the table. All of this costs us Rs 9000+ .

Went for dinner tonight. It is PATHETIC.

Location: in ITC hotel
Ambiance: warm Indian tradition with a chic touch and an open kitchen. Tables are low so you are close to other people on your table and you are able to share food.
Service: although they were always busy they really took care of us
Food: delicious tandoori dishes, you are provided with a bib and you eat the traditional way using your hands. No worries you are provided with hot towels and lemon water to remove all the grease and food smell from your hands. The breads, the meats, the shrimps, the dal and the potatoes all traditional dishes with intense and authentic flavors. The same thing with dessert.
Price: high but worth it.
Tip: book a table in advance as the place is always fully booked, and go hungry!

The flavours were a real discovery and the food is mouth-watering. Pricing is a bit costly but that’s probably down to the location. Would wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant.
Smriti
The famous Bukhara dal is worth it. Naan n other veggies too are tasty and light on the stomach. Ambience is cosy, aesthetic and informal. The only down side is absence of chairs with a back and normal height - the backless low moorhas make long sitting uncomfortable and are not amenable for the elderly or those with knee or back issues. Would love to visit again nevertheless.
Lakshay Dulani
Nothing out of the world for the waiting time and the costs!

Heard so much about this restaurant but failed to impress me.
Dal Makhani/Bukhara was nothing to talk about.
Breads were good.

Have been to their restaurant in ITC Agra also. Hated the seating style!

Ambiance, food & hospitality is amazing. Celebrated my husband's b'day & he really amazed with this experience. Staff arranged our seating in very comfortable place since we were with with our infant. Arranged cake complimentary from there side. Give my little girl a small token of Bukhara printed copper glass my husband appreciate that very much. Great experience. Worth spending there.

I had heard a lot about Bukhara at ITC and i finally got to eat the over hyped dal Bukhara.

To be very frank, dal makhani of many other restaurants is much much better and correctly priced as compared to their dal Bukhara.

I wasn't impressed at all by their signature dish. One had to ask for water time & again. Something not expected from such a place.

The staff was courteous & the place has a nice ambience.

Overall ratings

Staff 4/5
Food 2/5
Ambience 4/5

Recently visited ITC Maurya - Bukhara for a casual lunch with my friends. ITC Maurya has a great ambiance and definitely a treat for eyes. Talking about Bukhara, the ambiance of the restaurant might not be the best but their DAL is real delicacy and along with Indian bread its a treat. We also ordered Paneer Kurchan but it was not worth it and very ordinary.

The biggest set down was when we got to know that one of our frnd has her birthday we wanted to cut the cake but the restaurant was not able to arrange for a simple cake.

Nice seating! Dal was great so was the mutton seekh! Good quality food
Tarini Chandok
The once famous dal bukhara was unedible. The food & service has gone down drastically. Chicken kebabs were dry. Expected much more frm Maurya.
