This is a Tamil style South Indian restaurant.
A lot of menu options at reasonable rate.
Food is good.
Try to order smaller qty items as it may be more than you think/can eat.
Thali has many items. All pre-served. Only drawback is: items will be cold by the time you finish the thali.
Try to reach around 12:30 for lunch to avoid waiting.
A lot of authorised parking available nearby.

Saravana Bhavan captivated me with its unparalleled popularity, evident in the extensive queue that formed outside the restaurant. The anticipation built during the wait was rewarded with a culinary experience that exceeded expectations. The standout dish, without a doubt, was the ghee dosas, a gastronomic masterpiece that added a layer of brilliance to the overall dining affair.
While the thali offered a satisfactory variety, it was the Rava khichadi that left a lasting impression with its delightful and nuanced flavors. The establishment undeniably claims the title of the best South Indian restaurant in Delhi, boasting a culinary prowess that resonates with authenticity and quality.
With a capacity to accommodate over 100 patrons simultaneously, Saravana Bhavan provides a spacious and vibrant dining atmosphere. However, a word of caution for weekend visits, where the popularity peaks and a wait of 45 minutes to an hour is likely. On other days, the waiting time is more manageable, ranging from 15 to 25 minutes, making it a convenient choice for those seeking a delectable South Indian feast in the heart of Delhi.
Utkarsh
Best authentic South Indian Food in Delhi. Their chutneys and sambhar are quite tasty. A bit overpriced but worth the money.
abhishek tiwari
One of the staples for South Indian flavors. We went there in the morning around 9 and there was no queues. The quality of the food is amazing. The service is amazing as well. Food comes in about 15 mins after ordering. I really loved their paratha, medu vada, and badam milk. A must visit place for all south indian food lovers.
Antoine Avdb
The food is absolutely delicious, maybe not the cleanest place you can visit but it is definitely worth a visit.
We had to wait quite a bit outside (maybe c. 30min a Thursday evening) however the queue is very well organised.
Saurav Chatterjee
One of the best South Indian food in Delhi NCR. The prices could have been slightly lower.
I had Mix Veg Uttapam it was tiny but taste was up to the mark, and the chutneys were tasty.
Edward Gieda III
Oh wow, it’s been years since I’ve eaten here but I can still remember just how utterly delicious the dosa was. This is a busy lunch & dinner spot for vegans hangin’ out in Connaught Place. The dosa & the chutneys are to die for, second only to the fantastic deal you get, very few rupee for a lot to eat. Saravana Bhavan, I will be back! Greetings from Philadelphia, USA!
Ritu Kumari
We ordered Rava Onion masala dosai and masala dosai along with filter coffee. Everything was good except for the Rava dosai, it was not properly cooked from middle and I got a lump of raw batter of rava which I didn't like. Also the restrooms aren't clean, no one would expect to use a unisex restroom in such a famous chain of restaurants.

Saravana Bhavan offers a delightful South Indian culinary experience. The restaurant's vibrant and authentic ambiance sets the stage for a memorable meal. From their crispy dosas to flavorful sambar and aromatic rasam, the dishes here transport you to the streets of South India. The attentive staff and efficient service add to the overall dining experience. Whether you're a fan of idlis, vadas, or their delectable thali, Saravana Bhavan's extensive menu caters to a variety of tastes. Prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity of food served. If you're craving a taste of South India in the heart of Delhi, Saravana Bhavan is definitely worth a visit.

From ambience to taste everything meets perfection. But Their menu in their webiste is outdated. Don't get fooled by it . The price is definitely on the higher end ! Tried their rava masala dosa and parotta set . Rava masala dosa was too good and parotta was just average . If u go in 3 or 4 or above, even in weekdays, u definitely have to wait for 15minutes. Think about weekends!
ROHN PRAKASH
OMG!! what a taste they have. I went to this place on the weekend with my family and after reaching there I saw that there are more than 50 people waiting in the queue for their number to come. So by reading this, you can guess how delicious the food they serve.
I was also waiting in the queue for my turn to come, I almost waited there around 1-1.30 hours.
But after waiting for so long I finally got a seat and I ordered the food, after having a bite it was worth waiting here. The place is highly recommended for South Indian lovers.
Must try - Cold Coffee, Ghee Roast Masala Dosa, Panner Dosa, and Pody Idli.
Ratings - Ambience 3/5, Food 4/5, Taste 5/5, Service 4/5
Overall it was a nice family-like place with delicious food, please don't order online because you will miss the real taste as while reaching your order the food gets cold and soggy.
Suggestion to Restaurant - Please avoid these long queues as in summer it is really hot outside and it is very difficult to stand, So please try and help to sort out this thing
Agyaram Vishwakarma
It was a fairly average setup. Not bad or anything, this is definitely not the place for them. But the food also thankfully doesn't taste like plastic unlike larger chains.
Kumar Bunty

A budget friendly family South Indian restaurant.

One of the Best South Indian food can be found here.
Pocket friendly.
Nice ambience.
Service is fast.
Friendly staff.
Opens at 8AM , so all day menu is available.

Gaurav Lalchandani
A must visit if you are in New Delhi. Very well balanced flavours. We went really early in the morning, but by time we were leaving there quite lot of people waiting for a table. Point being please plan your visit here.

anurag sinha
Top top quality food 👌 5 rating to the food, to the service and to the atmosphere. Nothing to complain about the place. One should must try this place - reasonable prices and good food. The only concern is the waiting time - however it is worth the wait.
Pawan Kumar
If you want to experience authentic South Indian food this restaurant will never disappoint you. They took hygiene really very seriously so dont worry about this aspect as well.
Staff is very professional
They have some awesome seasonal Juice, shakes/smoothies, Sweets as well.
If you are visiting for lunch after 2-2:30pm you can find 10-15 minutes waiting.
Seating arrangements are also very comfortable.
Apart from waiting most probably you will not find any other complaint, I visited so many times at least I never find any other complaint. I hope you will enjoy your time here.
Gagan Setia
No doubt its one of the best serving south Indian restaurant, however initially was served with the burnt dosa ever seen (which wasn't charged). Finally i ordered butter masala dosa which is mentioned in the video. sorry #saravanabhavan you are over hiped and overrated.
Pooja Bhatia
We ordered onion rava masal dosa, Sambar vada, cheese veg dosa and mint cooler... cheese veg dosa was pathetic dont order that. Sambar vada was not even hot. Onion rava masala dosa was gud. Mint cooler was also gud.
Koushik Sarkar
After a long time i had real south indian dish, i.e. original smell of south indian thali and rava dosa.
Anshleen Tiwana
Worst service. Pathetic food. Order masala dosa which was worst i ever had. Sambhar was god knows of what pulse. Will never go there again.
Ayush Chauhan
The food is great, the service is quick and the staff is hospitable. What more its easily accessible and is probably the cheapest eating place in and around CP. Must try for sure.
Monika Jakhar
Good south Indian food but little hyped ! Juices were not good and chilled at all whereas the food served was delicious!
Sri N Srivatsa
The food is good. The ambience is nice. You can't book a table over phone but have to present yourself at the door to seek admission and be prepared to wait for up to 30 minutes for a table. The pricing is reasonable. What the place can do with is the personal touch and prompter service.
Madhu Dhingra
Amazing south Indian food. We ordered 4 varieties of dosas. All were yummy. Lassis n coffee were gud. Must visit dis place.
Vaibhav Mittal
Long long queue but it's really worth for waiting.

Very nice South Indian vegetarian food. We tried their Rava Masala Dosa and Uttapam .... All of it was good taste and reasonably priced.
Veena Menon
Must visit for authentic south indian food. Be it variety of dosas or utthappam or the variety of chutneys, the original taste and flavour is maintained and never disappointing. Service and price is also quite decent.
Vikram Singh
I ordered Dosa, the taste was too good, the flavors were fabulous, the ingredients were fresh ,the packaging done properly and the delivery also on time.<br/>Loved It ❣️
VANSHIKA PURI
Best south Indian restaurant ever.❤️😍❤️😋 As I am a hard core dosai lover I just love this place. You should go and try<br/>
Zoya
First of all, i know that recent incidents about the Lizard found in sambhar here. Let me tell you something, its been years that they are serving and they have never disappointed their customers. That incident was a mishap but we should give them a second chance. So, This place has been a personal favorite when it comes to South Indian cuisine. The restaurant is old and the food served is authentic and delicious. Good ambience, courteous staff and great food. Also you can visit the restaurant if you want as they are taking precautions like sanitization, social distancing customers, using face masks, etc.

Priyansha Ravi
These people don't know how to talk to customers and they provide you unhygenic food..a big dislike...don't go to this place...staff is also very rude.
Ravi Adlakha
staff is very rude and slow..they don't have etiquettes.. if you want to waste your money and wanna get humiliated then only go to this place...they don't know how to talk to the customers...and if really crave for south indian food then go to padamana bhawan its just adjacent to this shitty saravana bhawan.<br/>
DEVESH AGARWAL
Must not visit during corona times as unhygienic conditions for dining. No sanitization and no cleanliness
Akanksha Arya
Sometimes waiting but when in the aroma of south indian food knocks your taste buds. This is by far the best authentic south indian food after Udupi.
Melvin Oommen
Go to place for authentic Tamil Nadu Cuisines. This is comparatively less crowded than the one in CP and have better seating arrangements.<br/>Mini Idlis, Masala Dosa and filter coffee are a must try.<br/>
Aleem
After a quick half an hour run on Saturday morning at India Gate, me and my friend went ahead for breakfast at Saravana. This place never let's me down. Filter Capi and Idli Vada Sambhar was a delight to have. <br/>The staff is following strict covid norms and hygiene!!<br/>
Rishabh Sahni
Taste has totally changed. The quality is poor. My nearby raja snack corner has better taste and quality dosa now
Sandeep Rawat
Its a descent place with awesome interiors but the place is overcrowded and you have to wait to go inside. I have eat masala dosa there which is good in taste. Service is good and reasonable price.

SARFARAZ AKHTAR
Best authentic south Indian food in central delhi for sure . But the staff needs to be quik there as the place is always crowdy . A good place to have a meal with your family , the only that might bother is you have to wait a long for your name to be called out for the table

Monika Jain
I had this rawa dosa last year with three types of chutneys. All were so good and lucious😋<br/>Dosa was so cruncy and scrumptious. Loved it so much.<br/>I am big fan of coconut chutney. It was also super delectable. Sambhar was ok.<br/>Also, the decor of this place is so out of the box then some casual places 🥰<br/><br/>Rawa dosa-5/5
Abhishek Dalal
Nice food but a bit costly.
Prachi Kataria

Today I visited this South Indian restaurant, named saravana bhawan .They serve only South Indian a cuisine in reasonable price with good quantity.the place has amazing ambience and very helpful staffs .the seating arrangement are comfy.i ordered onion masala dosa ,dahi vada and sambar vada.<br/>The dishes were well cooked and so yummy .clean and nicely presented.i personally like dahi vada most becauseof that crunchy bundi spread on the top of dahi vada but don’t like the raw black pepper in sambar vada .they really take care of hygiene and proper sanitising process . So go and grab the good food today for good south Indian food .
Arpan
Today I ordered onion dosa , masala dosa and idli. The taste of food is so bad that we even didn't eat at all. The quantity of sambhar is not enough for the dosa. Only 5% of the portion of dosa are having masala sabji. Not worthy.<br/>"Paisa barbad"
Usama Sheikh
Very friendly place fast service with good staff

When ever you plan to go to this place make sure you start off from your place atleast 2 hours before you start feeling hungry because man the waiting never ever ends and the customers can’t resist themselves to come to eat such delicious delicacy of South Indian food
Vidhuth Bohara
Whenever I visit Delhi NCR I visited this place few number of times,in my opinion the delhi outlets are way ahead and better than chennai, the idly, vada are super fresh and piping hot, dosas they have many varieties like special plain dosas, rava dosas and paper roast dosas with onion and potato masala if anybody wants to try with that also, other items like barotta(parotta) kurma, idiyappam kurma, appam kurma, chilly barotta with onion raitha, chapatti kurma are mouth watering and they have options of South indian thali that is meals during lunch time they also have sweets and confectionery items too and coffee is a must try beverage at last after having relishing meal,if anybody craving south indian food specifically chennai or tamil nadu style then this is a must try place in delhi and they have outlets in Janpath and cannaught place that is CP which are not too far between both outlets which is in central delhi heart off the city the service is also great and efficient and price is OK in terms of Delhi standards and sambar and chutney is also ultimate.

What an amazing restaurant it is with yummy food and a great ambiance. Most of the times you will find waiting just because of its delicious food.
Aasim Zaidi
Had high hopes from the place but they made us sit on a very small table and it was very tight. Some things are nice about the place but the food is not I am fan of. Would prefer other restaurants for South Indian.
Alisha
firstly the management is extremely gud..due to extreme crowd people are given token numbers<br/><br/>we have ordered masala dosa...which was really a masala dosa....it was really really gud...quantity was satisfying and one more thing...the taste of sambhar was really yummy..😋😋.....<br/>utapam was also veryy nice little cruncy in taste.... food was freshly made and well served...<br/>the staff is very polite and active..<br/>if u are at cp...and want to have a gud south indian...than trust me...this is such a gud place...<br/><br/>and dont forget to have sambhar...😉<br/>

Firstly sambhar rice was not at all sambhar rice...it was kind of khichdi....the quantity was extremely less which was an additional irritant.... they should stop calling it sambhar rice... it's an insult.
Hungryyy Cravers
Well the sambhar was extremely good and one of the best sambhar I have ever tasted.<br/>Uttapam was also delicious.<br/>The only thing that was a bit annoying is the waiting time specially on weekends otherwise it's a gem for all who love some authentic south Indian food.

Nothing to say about this place. Whenever we don’t know what to eat we go to Saravana Bhavan. South Indian delicacy, quick service and a huge crowd waiting to get in. They have quite a big place and order is ready with 15-20 mins. This place defines the penultimate South Indian food experience.<br/><br/>Food: 10/10<br/>Service: 10/10<br/>Value for money: 8/10

Sarvana bhawan serves such amazing south indian food. So authentic and delicious. I have travelled to kerala and sarvana bhawan serves you beauty of south indian food in north india. I love the mini idlis. They are so delicious. Though i did not like their dahi vada but i love their all types of dosa. My absolute favorite is ghee roast dosa and they have so nice texture and flavour to it. They are crispy and delicious. Just the way i like it. The aroma of the restaurant is so amazing that it just makes your mouth water. Go try it.

The quality of food was fascinating and quantity was also good. South Indian food lovers must visit here once. I really liked the Parotta which I tried for the first time. Place to go if you want to experience some real variety of south indian food . It has got some real good variety of uthapam (we ordered a plate of 5 different small uthapams)which were delicious along with dosas. Ambience and location makes it more appropriate for family outings ...though could have been better on taste

Presenting before you the famous- 'Idli Vada Plate with Sambhar and 3 different chutneys(coconut, tomato and mint) from Sarvana Bhawan in Janpath, Delhi.🍱🍱🍲❤❤❤<br/>.<br/>Rice, being their staple cereal grain forms part of a lot of the dishes yet somehow they have managed to innovate it in multiple ways- be ut through idli, uttapam, appam, idiyappam or our beloved dosa!🍚🍚🍚🍚♥️♥️♥️<br/>.<br/>.<br/>It was one of the days we wanted to go out and get our hands on the best South Indian delicacies! If you are from Delhi, you need not look further from this place to get the most amazing dishes from South India, specifically Tamil Nadu...<br/>We had ordered “Ghee Kara Dosa” before this Idli Wada plate but forgot to click pictures as the Dosai was the BEST WE HAD EVERR HAD.. We got so lost in its taste ki photo lena yaad hi nahi raha! 🌸🌸🌸😌😍😍😍😍😍<br/>.<br/>They have a huge seating, yet we had to wait for a solid 20 minutes to get a seat, that too on a weekday afternoon. Also the place is very reasonable priced for the quality of food it serves! ❤❤

Always a delight to have a masala dosa from here. Decently ordered in for a masala dosa and a mix uttapam, the taste was really nice, however, the green leaf packing of the dosa was inside the aloo stuffing, I'm sure that's not meant for eating, but should be informed to the management to take care of it. <br/>The taste was good, loved the green chutney! Keep up the good work

Whenever you feel like having South Indian food.. This place is the best unlike anyother<br/>They have a large variety of options available. The service is quick and promt. <br/>I have visited this place many a times but only thing that bothers me now is that there degrading taste. From quite a last few visits I can see that the taste is not constant and upto the mark as before. <br/>I wish something can be done to its long awaiting ques as if u visit it on weekends you have to wait outside for mini 15-20 mins.
Razzaq R Youhana
Its a good place for tamil food at a posh locatity with decent crowd. The thalis served on a banana leaf are mouth watering and you can have as much as you want which is amazing, followed by a tasteful dessert, there are a number of curries and veggies and one can have both puris and rice. The ambience is good too and do try their filter coffee.
ItstheFoodies
Have always been a fan of their menu. Mysore Pak is unbeatable. The only concern is the long queue that awaits everytime we visit on the weekend. Wish something could be done

Just like the other outlets, this one too is really good. Its mostly packed, so you will have to wait for sometime to get in. When here do try the rava dosa and parotta.

Well the place is so good that you can have a good time with your family and special ones. Service is too good and the south Indian is too good. It give us the feel that we are in kerela. Well the place is too good to have a good food.

This chain of restaurant doesn’t need any introduction anywhere in the world , serving more than 89 countries with their authentic South Indian delicacies since 1981.<br/>It was established in 1981 by Mr P Rajagopal in Chennai Tamil Nadu .<br/>This particular outlet is itself 17 years old and in Delhi there are total 3 outlets serving their food.<br/>South Indian cuisines are generally subtle and tastes amazing hence you can never go wrong with dosa or idlis.<br/>So I decided to go for a visit to this place two days back and we ordered <br/>Filtered coffee - really authentic and strong just the way I like my coffee.<br/>Iddiappam - this is a wheat / rice based dish which is served with kadla curry ( chole ) and it was really soft which melted in my mouth along with that they served fresh coconut milk which was sooo yummy that I ordered more.<br/>Plain dosa- now as I believe you can never go wrong with dosa it’s one of the perfect inventions to the mankind , it was long crispy and the chutney was delicious along with that they give sambhar and trust me this is the tastiest sambhar I had in my life .<br/>Corn uttapam- similar like dosa but thicker with some corn and cheese grated over evenly cooked .<br/>In short I can say this place can never go wrong and you will find people from different regions here having the delicacies . I Recommend this to everyone in this city .

Order type: Dine in<br/><br/>Quality: *****<br/>Taste: *****<br/>Service: ***<br/><br/>This is finest place for south Indian food in Delhi. They always justify with the taste n quality. Usually you have to wait outside for 15-20 mins bcoz of long waiting.<br/><br/>Dosas n idlis are just amazing. Chutnies are also super tasty. It is difficult to beat that place specially in North India.<br/><br/>I also tried their tiffin meal but I didn't like it much maybe bcoz I'm not that much familiar with that taste. They can improve their service n politeness in the staff.<br/><br/>Overall 5 stars bcoz of their unbeatable taste n quality. 🙂🙂

Went to Savanah Bhavan on Saturday evening, there was 30 mins waiting time. Infact you reach here anytime and there is waiting. Though the crowd is managed very nicely. <br/>Coming to the food:<br/>I ordered:<br/>1. Dahi vada: really good to start your meal with. Dahi is sweet and vada is topped with crispy boondi. Really delicious. <br/><br/>2. Masala dosa: it was very average. The masala inside the dosa was soo Less, it felt like eating plain dosa.<br/><br/>3. Onion Rava masala dosa: it was crispy and very tasty. Had ample amount of onion.<br/><br/>4. Ghee roast paneer dosa: it was really amazing. Ghee flavour was very prominent and nice. Paneer stuffing was very tasty and complimented dosa really nicely. Highly recommended.<br/><br/>5. Mixed uthpam: this was a big disappointment. It was bland and uncooked from middle.<br/><br/>Overall it's a normal experience, if you're around CP you can give it a try. It's very affordable.
Aruna Choudhary
I have been a regular customer at sarvana Bhavan but this time I was disappointed with the masala dosa, it was cold when served, the potatoes stuffing was very less, the crust was very tight and the chutney quantity was very less. Is this your brand speaks? Janpath outlet is very poor qualitywise.
Ashutosh Saboo
Though the food is good but the management is really horrible and they don't even treat customers properly. They don't respond or great. Does feel like a government mess or dhaba
Sumita Kapoor
If you love to have dosa and do visit this place for authentic south indian food. They have a wide menu and the taste is just too. The cool thing about this place is you can try variety of south Indian dishes.<br/><br/>I ordered masala dosa , Mix uthappam, Idli also I tried water melon juice. Everything was so drool worthy and fresh. service is bit slow but on an on its a must visit place.

One of my favourite place for South Indian Food. Their food quality is really good and taste also really awesome.<br/>Must try their deluxe thali in which they serve mini idlis, dosa, green chatni and other items and all are very good in taste and quantity also enough for one person.<br/>Recommendations - 9/10
Shubham Sharma
It was a worthy wait over there as after wait of at least 20 mins we got table and food is the same as usual. The best... But yesterday I found two things not good.<br/>1- service was too slow.<br/>2- no body was listening for the orders.<br/><br/>And those 5 stars above, I gave because of the food. Because sometimes things go up and down but for me what I came for went up well.
Vanshika Garg
I tried masala dosa and it was really good. Perfect south Indian taste. And their service was also very quick. Sambar and the coconut chuttney was also very tasty.
Varun Jain
Horrible service. Very rude staff. Looks like lot of ego in them. Food is good, but go and try padmanabham. Amazing food and service, just next to sarvana.
Nandini Thakur
The name is enough, the authenticity of the food is what makes me wanna visit it every time I’m craving for south indian food. The waiting time for table is what can possibly annoy you cause it’s long, depends totally!<br/>I ordered five dosas rava masala, aloo onion, rava onion, rava plain, dry fruit dosa and five different small puri sized uttapams and for drink we had rasam, dosas were amazing but the best had to be the dry fruit one, should definitely try it, rasam served was average and uttapams were average too! We had sundaes for desert they were good!<br/>In all i had a nice experience
Food_fever07
Masala dosa and idli tasted really amazing.<br/>Papad and rasam is a perfect start of the meal.<br/>I did not like the mixed uttpam at all.<br/>Rava Kesari tasted good too and best ending to perfect meal.
Food Lense
The masal dosa was amazing. i love the taste of the Sambhar. And the Green chutney is my personal favourite , you just cannot miss visiting Sarvann if you are visiting Connaught Place with your family or friends!
Atish
Food is nice but the attitude of the waiters and staff is very bad and arrogant even if they have seats they will ask us to wait and the restaurant was full empty they didn't allow us to sit and take our favorite seats.
