We went looking for an authentic Konkani/ Mangalorean cuisine and we were certainly not disappointed. Kudos to the kitchen team at Sana-di-ge who dishes our an awesome fare... The chicken Sukka, Fish Tawa Fry and the Mangalorean Mutton were lip-smackingly good... Was nice to interact with Executive Chef Sukesh at the end of our meal. Service provided by Shubham was very prompt and courteous. Overall a very satisfactory experience. We are definitely returning and we recommend this place to anyone keen on our delicious coastal cuisine. 5*

The new menu is so good. Detectable flavours of kokan and Mangalore. The variety is plenty for both vegetarian and a sea food lover. A little on the higher end with the prices but worth the hype and diplomacy in and around Malcha Marg. Highly recommend! I have visited quite often with many work friends and clients too!

Had visited Sana~di~ge for lunch and we tried Veruval for starters - which was a little spicy for our taste but you can definitely ask them to alter it according to your palate as the staff is quite prompt and responsive. We then tried the Gola Kadi for lunch with Appam, which was also very tasty. Had very elaborative tastes of garlic and onion and the chana pakodas in the kadhi were a great fit. For drinks we got the traditional coconut water and mango shikanji- both were quite refreshing. With no plans to go to a fine dine place we sure had a beautiful lunch at this restaurant. Highly recommended!

We went on a Thursday. The ambience is beautiful. Its a fine dine and the dishes actually were delicious. The staff is very courteous and we really enjoyed the hospitality. The banana leaf fish (we selected surmai fish) was so very tasty. I recommend it as a must try. Strongly recommended for sea food lovers. Its not expensive considering it to be a fine dine.

The restaurant is an absolute jewel. I dined there for dinner with a friend one evening and returned a few days later for lunch with a different friend. Both friends were utterly captivated by the quality of food and the service, as was I. The restaurant ranks among the very best places. I have ever dined in New Delhi.

Just love the authentic mangalorean, Goan and south style delicious food here. We relished the chicken ghee roast, Kerala prawn curry, nuggekai soup was delicious. The ambience gives a very relaxed vibe and service staff is very courteous. They have authentic flavors and this is one of the best seafood restaurants in Delhi. Do try their sasyahari or Jenji thali . In main course loved the Malabar stew, Bhareli macchi which was delicious. A must visit place for sea food lovers and real foodies who love good food. Desserts try the Leander payasam .

The restaurant lives upto its rating. They serve authentic south indian food. We went there with our 6 months old in a stroller and the staff was very courteous and friendly to accommodate all our special needs. We ordered paneer varuval, mushroom curry , malabar paratha and manglorean mutton curry- all of it was fresh and tasty. There is ample parking space and obviously the Chanakyapuri area vibes offer a serene experience amidst the heart of Delhi Really liked the traditional serving plates along with banana leaf

Good food and good service. If you are looking at some good South Indian coastal food in Delhi, then this place will not disappoint you. It has good sitting space, well stocked bar, outdoor sitting. It’s a place where I visit with friends and family as each one gets something of its liking.

I have always missed kori roti in delhi and each time I went back home to Bombay I got to satiate my manglorean taste buds. But now I’m a happy manglorean in delhi because I not just get kori roti but also all the veg dishes like basale and padengi batate which are so common in manglorean homes but when you are away from home even these dishes become delicacy. So grateful 🙏🏻

We had a wonderful time celebrating my fathers birthday here. We both like seafood and Sana-di-ge gave us exactly what we were looking for. Authentic preparation and warm service with birthday wishes at the end made it the perfect evening. I recommend all seafood lovers to try this place out. The Ghee Roast Chicken is pretty damn good as well.

dinner last night. it was a terrible experience a wasted evening. the staff dont know the food the pronounciations or even basic english to order. they were slow and kept returning to change the order, even sannas , basic bread was not available. eventually the food was terrible , the quantity so little , and the taste was altered to more punjab , i would avoid this restaurant . it can never redeem itself . bad decor, staff, food.

We visited restaurant early sep, thoroughly enjoyed the southern flavors.
We tried paneer starter - varuval, kora kundapuri, alleppy mean manga curry with appam, neer dosa nd steamed rice.
All dishes were very nicely made, flavourful nd nice.
Only disappointement was they had limited menu due to covid,nd were about to start with full menu in next week.
Definitely going again to explore more food options.
There are very few restaurant serving southern flavors apart from dosa nd idli.

Coming on safety - temp check, well sanitized place, contactless dining.
Monika Bhandari
We ordered chicken pepper fry, mutton sukka, butter garlic prawn, appam, neer dosa and payasam.
Mutton sukka and the chicken pepper fry were amazing. The payasam is my personal top favourite dish!

Overpriced mediocre food. Only the service is good.

Excellent place for manglorean cuisine. Extremely sophisticated with ultra courteous staff. Crowd is excellent, roof top ambience is too good. My 8 months old baby loved the ambience. Perfect place for some soft light romantic dinner. Food is very good, especially murg ghree roast. Pomphret may have been better. Overall, fantastic outing.1. Ambiance - 5/52. Food/Taste - 4/53. Service - 5/54. Value for Money - 5/55. Overall - 4.8/5

I generally don't do reviews. However, what transpired yesterday drove me to make an exception.
We were a group of six looking to get some takeaway food. We were late. Called up the restaurant using the number available on Zomato.
At 2047hrs we were connected to a gentleman named Gaurav Pandey. The restaurant given the restrictions closes at 2100hrs. Mr. Gaurav however was proactive enough to take an order from us on the call, relay it to the chef and put us in touch with the on premise staff for better coordination.
By 2055hrs we had placed our order and had been assured that we can collect it as soon as we arrive at the restaurant.
Sanadige is renowned for its amazing food. Everyone knows that. This review isn't about their food. Instead it is about the pains that a person took to make sure that a group of people not just get food timely but get the best that the restaurant has to offer.
It does not take a genius to figure out that Mr Pandey could have easily chosen to not return my call or simply have said that they're closed. Instead, he chose the bang opposite of that and made sure that we had a delightful experience.
Also, the sea food, as per a lot of first time diners in the group was unlike anything that they'd had earlier. We polished off the bowls and foils of their contents.
Sanadige, easily among the top 5, if not top 3 restaurants that I've had the opportunity to eat at in Delhi.

Hi People! Our server made helpful suggestions. We enjoyed the Purna Mamsahara and Sasyahara and some more dishes. All delicious! A fantastic experience all around. Thank you Sandige! 5 Stars for ambience.

Sana-Di-Ge, truly, a hidden gem in Chanakyapuri.
A place that will never disappoint in terms of

-> Fantastic service

-> Great Food

-> A huge menu to choose from

-> Diverse choices in terms of fish, chicken and veg dishes

meals are served on a fresh banana leaf, as is the custom in southern states.

Hi Guys!
So I tried this place in Chanakya Puri, Malcha Marg, New Delhi called Sana-Di-Ge. They serve one of my all-time favorite cuisine, which is coastal cuisine. Featuring a menu from the west cost of India, with the freshest of seafood and they just recently launched their breakfast menu. I am excited to share that I was the first one to try their breakfast menu outside of the restaurant staff. The breakfast menu is available only on every Sundays for now.

Sanadige means a brass lamp. It is a “Tulu” word, which is spoken in Dakshin kannada, which is a district in the state of Karnataka. Their food is majorly Mangalorean (the head chef and his team are from Mangalore itself). However, they also serve Maharashtrian, Goan and Kerela food as well and they are all traditional recipes.

Everything I tried is mentioned below: (I had honestly gone to try their lunch/ dinner menu but they made me try their breakfast menu as they were launching it soon). All the dishes here are Gluten, Dairy and Sugar free (except the one drink which has butter milk). Please do see the dessert, I was told it took them 2 years to bring to perfection!

Drinks:
1) Drink 1 - SOL KADI:
COCONUT MILK WITH DRIED KOKUM AND ROASTED GARLIC: KONKANS. FAVOURITE DRINK TO TRIGGER THE APPETITE
This was indeed very nice.
2) Drink 2 - PUNAR POLI:
DRY KOKUM PEEL INFUSED WITH MANGALOREAN SPICES
Nice flavor of cardamom coming through. This drink is on the sweeter side, I liked it.
3) Drink 3:
ELANEER SHUNTI NIMBEHANNU: FRESH TENDER COCONUT WATER FLAVOURED WITH PRESSED GINGER AND LEMON: A SPECIALITY OF KARWAR
Tasted like a better version of plain coconut water.
4) Drink 4:
YEDDE MUNCHI PANAKA: A HIT DRINK INFUSED WITH HERBS & SPICES - A MUST TRY!
This drink again is a lot on the sweeter side and it is especially very good for people who have a sore throat 😛
5) Drink 5:
SAMBHARAM: SPICY BUTTER MILK WITH FRESH CORIANDER GINGER & CURRY LEAVES - KERELA’S ALL TIME FAVOURITE COOLER
This drink tasted like the North Indian Kadi
6) Drink 6:
Tried the Mixed Fruit Juice and the Mixed Vegetable Juice – I prefer the fruit juices (I guess this is a personal choice)
7) KAJU SANADIGE: Fried whole cashew nuts and coconut tossed with crushed pepper and salt; one of their specialties.
I loved the hint of green chilis. These were super yum
8 ) Sanadige Rice Papad: All the guests get these: They serve it with different chutneys like Tamarind, pineapple and mango, mint, tomato and coconut chutneys and mixed pickle
9) I also tried their Breakfast Idli, Vada, Plain Dosa, Masala Dosa and their Onion Uttapam. All these were served with Mangalorean sambhar and chutney. Trust me when I say this, they all tasted incredible. I am not separately mentioning as the sambhar and chutneys were constant throughout all these dishes and they were all very flavorsome.
10) Dessert - ELANEER PAYASAM: A soulful combination of coconut cream and fresh tender coconut pulp.
The dessert was fresh and super light, like really really light. I believe they started experimenting on it in 2007 and it took them 2 years to bring this dish to perfection, and seriously perfection it is! The sweetness in the dessert comes from jaggery.

I will definitely be going back to try their other dishes. However, will definitely recommend to try their breakfast menu till then. Also, if the weather is good, book a table on their terrace area.

Doesn't live up to the hype. Took my mother on mother's day as she is fond of the cuisine.. frankly there are smaller cheaper shops that do the same kinda food better .

One of my friend told me that let's try some sea food and suggested me the name of this restaurant Sana-D-Ge and as the name itself sound very interesting and unique & also its #Mangalorean cuisine which I never tried brought us to the restaurant..It's located at Chanakyapuri which is very nice place, quite and calm.. When we entered in the restaurant it gave us a very good vibe, the greeting was good, interior decoration is pretty good as well as the seating area well organized.. I loved the decoration of the washroom specially..The menu was given to us which has so many items lead us to confusion what to have as they are new to me specially.. We went to have sea food but sad to see that they are not serving proper sea food there is no octopus or squid or mussels or red snapper.. We wanted to have mud crab but it was not available on that day.. Remaining prawns or lobster which they are serving are on the weight basis which was annoying to us.. More than the price they have listed for the fish items or crabs are pretty high if I compare with other good restaurants in Delhi/NCR..Anyways we ordered for #Tawa Fry kane or Lady fish as starter which was nothing so much interesting.. Then we ordered for their signature dish #Kori Kundapuri and #Kerala Paratha which was okay type but the plate they had served us I liked that.. Then we ordered for their special beverage #Sol kadi which was not available then #Kokum Kadi which too not available and finally #Yedi Munchi Panaka trust me it was 1st time in my life tried such a horrible drink !!Our experience was horrible and was regretting for our decision later.. if suggested the manager to look on the price price of the sea food as they pretty high in contrast to the taste and the menu is quite confusing not to list down so many items..Ambiance- 4/5
Decor - 3.5/5
Food - 1/5
Overall rating - 2.5/5 it's just for the ambiance..

Do visit on your special occasions with family n friends...

Sana-Di-Ge, truly, a hidden gem in Chanakyapuri. Sana-Di-Ge means a lamp, one which is used during prayer and is used sometimes during inauguration ceremonies. This place Sana-Di-Ge is really famous in Delhi NCR to serve best of the Manglorean food. I got to know about this place from my friend, so thought to visit it. The place itself is located in a very posh area of Delhi where most of the embassies are located. There is a good parking area and you will definitely find peaceful environment even outside the place. I came with my friends here, and we were welcomed gracefully here. The manager, Gaurav Pandey, himself showed us the way for table. All the staffs welcomed us with namaste. It was really a beautiful gesture that one can think of from such place.

Now coming to the ambience, the place is decorated really well with the beautiful lantern lamps, antique frames and what not. Even the platings are done in a very royal way. All the plates that were placed in the table were made of brass alloy. There is a good seating area here, it's divided into 3 floors though. There is even a outside seating space (terrace) which again adds beauty to this place.

I have never been a fan of South Indian food before. But after trying this place I had to change my mind. There are so many things to eat, that too a health wise perspective. Manglorean Sea food is what one can think of in this weather of Delhi. The food here is fresh, tasty and healthy. What else one can expect?

In the starters I totally loved their Alambe Sukka,
Lotus stem Kali mirchi, Paneer Varuval, Kaju Sanadige, Koshambari salad, Pomfret Masala Fry, Anjal wrapped in banana leaf, prawn salad and kokum flavoured chicken.

In the main course do try their Mangalore mutton curry, Kori (chicken) kundapuri, Kane (lady fish) kudla curry along with Kerala Appam, Mangalore Appam, Neer Dosa, Pundi and Kerala Paratha. In the dessert side go for their Elaneer Payasum.

Each and every dish, here, is made using the ingredients from the South that they get imported from Mangalore. You will get to experience authentic flavour of each and every dish because of the spices. Also, do try their King Fish, its really tasty and is full of omega 3. This is the first ever place which I would say have focused both on taste side and health side of customers.

Not to forget, the white wine is something which I would recommend everyone to try from this place. I never had such flavour of wine before. Totally loved it. Also, in the drinks side, have their Elaneer Shunti Nimbehanu (coconut water flavoured with ginger, lemon n mint), Yedde Munchi Panaka (black pepper, fennel, tamarind n jaggery flavoured drink), and Sol Kadi (fresh kokum juice, coconut milk and tempered with spices). Further, in beverage side, filter coffee is a must here.

Overall, I had a good time here. With such service, food, music, I definitely felt that India is full of culture and diversity. Totally an amazing experience. Highly highly highly recommended.

I have been to this restaurant with my family and then friends.

A place that will never disappoint in terms of

-> Fantastic service
-> Great Food
-> A huge menu to choose from
-> Diverse choices in terms of fish, chicken and veg dishes

There is a diverse menu to choose from coastal food to chicken dishes and their new wine collection.
The chef is a Manglorian and cooks great meals with help of rest of the team.

Do look at some great food pictures which totally do not do any justice to the food taste, authentic, earthy and great place to enjoy a fun meal with family, friends and office folks.

They have a huge parking so that shouldn't be a problem.
We travelled all the way from Gurgaon to Delhi for lip smacking food and taste

Yesterday i went to attend friend get together and sanadige was on my must visit list from a long period of time, that was the one reason we selected this location. The restaurant is located in very beautiful area of Chanakya Puri full of greens all around the manager himself their at the entry to welcome us so kind of him, and provided us a very good table so that 7-8 people can sit comfortably.

As it is a south Indian restaurant that serve some very authentic and delicious mangalorian food, we tried many of their famous dishes such as
ghee roast jumbo prawns
Mutton sukka
Kaju sanadige
Alambe sukka
Kokum flavoured chicken
Pamfret masala fry
And the best of all the starters was prawn salad.

For mains we had
Vegetable stew
Chicken kundapuri
Mangalore mutton curry

And breads we had
Kerala Appam

Appam
Need Dosa
Sanna
Pundi
Kerala Paratha

Dessert we had their very famous elaneer payasam i highly recommend everyone must not leave without trying it. Overall we had a very great experience here in every aspect be it service, food, ambience, or anything everything was perfect. A must visit place for someone who really wants to explore some authentic south indian food.

Does true-blue coastal cuisine in the heart of Delhi seem too good to be true? Not if you consider that Goldfinch's brainchild Sanadige has come straight from Bangalore to present Delhiites with the choicest delicacies of the coastal belt.

Located at the commercial centre in Chanakyapuri and occupying three floors, all accessible by means of a one-of-its-kind hydraulic lift, Sanadige glorifies expeditions of adventurers, and fresh catch of fisherfolk by means of wall murals and figurines.

Tables are laid out in the classic manner with even the table napkins shaped in the form of boats, while there are intricate wooden carvings and comfortable seating arrangements.

Crisp Appalams are served in a medieval wagon, accompanied by six dips, to snack on, while one awaits the deliciousness that arrives at your table from Chef Sukesh's kitchen.

Meals are served on a fresh banana leaf, as is the custom in southern states. Each day's fresh catch is sourced directly from Mangalore.

Here's what would form for a delectable meal when visiting Sanadige...

Among the appetizers, though we started off on a crunchy and crispy note with Kalimirchi Lotus Stem and in-house specialty Kaju Sanadige, Kori Ghee Roast which has chicken pan tossed with masala made of Byadgi chilli, Ghee, & Manglorean spices and Butter Pepper Garlic Prawns are two of my favourites when dining at Sanadige.

To go along with the meal, there was what I like to call the Panchratna beverages from the menu because it's difficult to choose a favourite - Kerala's spicy butter milk tempered with fresh coriander, ginger, turmeric, curry leaves - Sambharam - Sweet and spicy blend of black pepper, jaggery, tamarind and water - Yedde Punchi Panaka - concoction of kokum and sweetened water - Punar Puli - Chilled coconut milk & dried kokum, spices and tempered with roasted garlic - Sol Kadi - Fresh tender coconut water flavoured with pressed ginger and lime - Elaneeru Shunti Nimbehannu

Moving forward with the Main Course, we had the choicest of coastal delicacies at our disposal, replicating a home-made meal from down South.

While Kori Kundapuri is one of Sanadige's signature chicken curries, the Malabar Vegetable Stew rendered in rich coconut milk is a winner, and I had also tried shellfish - Marvai Sukka that's best when tried at Sanadige for the authentic preparation.

Sanadige's staple Bread Basket consisting of Appams, Neer Dosa, Malabar Parantha, and Pundi were the perfect pairing with each of these curries.

Apart from this, the Nei Choru or rice tossed with cashew nuts, onions, and curry leaves, rendering the pleasant aroma of Ghee is nicely paired with Alleppey Meen Manga - mildly bony fish curry.

As for the sweet conclusion to the meal, Elaneer Payasam had the most aesthetic presentation and came in a coconut itself, which concealed in it a sweet concoction of coconut cream, pulp, and an assortment of nuts. On the other hand, Sanadige also has a number of gluten-free preparations, and among desserts, they have Finger Millet pudding that they call Ragi Mani.

Chef Sukesh was even gracious enough to show us their Spice Thali with various condiments sourced from Mangalore, and Mr. Dhananjay for being attentive towards our table and serving with a smile at all times.

On the whole, Sanadige is one of the handful of places that aim at presenting authentic coastal cuisine to its patrons in Delhi and do a fantastic job out of it too. :)
Charu Khanduja
Sana-di-ge is the ultimate place to dine at if Delhiites wish to savour authentic coastal cuisine. Spread across three floors, a rooftop, and a basement area suitable for private gatherings, the hydraulic lift in their premises is a one-of-its-kind.

Stemming from the Tulu language Sana-di-ge literally means Brass Lamp. Needless to say there is a ceremonial brass lamp placed at the entrance of the restaurant on the Ground Floor, along with a statuette of a fisher-woman with her catch in a basket.

The seating areas have been done in shades of beige with wooden carved walls, a wall mural across each floor elucidating oceanic adventures, and plush sofas for seating.

The menu at Sana-di-ge is VAST in the truest sense and I found it best to go by Chef Sukesh's diligent recommendations for our time here.

First things first, their Amuse Bouche is a warm Sol Kadi which is slightly spicy in nature. Also, there are crisp poppadoms served in a cart, along with six kinds of dips. We also begun with Kaju Sanadige that is a crispy delight especially when paired with coconut crunch.

Apart from that, I really liked the Elaneeru Shunti Nimbehannu that's fresh tender coconut water with the after taste of ginger and lime, and Yedde Punchi Panaka that's a sweet and tangy blend of jaggery, tamarind, and black pepper.

For appetizers, I have what I like to call the quadrant recommendation. Go ahead with Yetti (Prawns) Butter Pepper Garlic - those are my absolute favourite and Varuval, that had mushroom pan-tossed with their spice mix and topped with cashews. Another in-house special is their Ghee Roast prep - we went ahead with Kori (Chicken) and the aroma and taste of Ghee is just palatable. I also like the off-preparation of Kali Mirch Lotus Stem which was a crunchy snack.

For Main Course, we tried my absolute favourite Malabar Veg Stew prepared in coconut milk and Kori Kundapuri that's a fantastic chicken prep. On the other hand, there's also Marvai Sukka or shell fish that goes well with Pundi that's a rice and semolina ball.

To pair with the gravies, we had Appam, Neer Dosa, and flaky Malabar Parantha that comprise the staple Sanadige Basket.

Personally, I would relish their Nei Choru and Meen Manga Curry again, any other day hands-down just because it's a fantastic Ghee Pulao and fish curry with the subtle mango and coconut flavours.

Their Elaneer Payasam is Sanadige's staple special as a dessert, solely on the basis of its presentation in a green coconut, more so for its taste with coconut pulp and nuts. Perfect conclusion. But, I would also say that the Ragi Mani or millet pudding is an underrated winner, being a gluten-free preparation too.

Sana-di-ge is the perfect place to visit for people who want to relish authentic coastal and Mangalorean fare and I am completely smitten by this place for its food, ambiance, and service. Nothing falters at Sana-di-ge. :)
Jaideep Khanduja
Sana-di-ge is not merely a restaurant. It's a unique culture to experience. It's, in fact, a soul of Indian traditions in food. I find this place elite and exclusive. Especially, in coastal food, there is nothing like dining at Sana-di-ge. Every dish has a unique set of masalas and other ingredients. Where every masala and ingredients are sourced from the best of their origins keeping adherence to processes and procedures intact for sure. In case, a particular masala doesn't reach in time and is not available in the kitchen, the particular dish or dishes needing that masala will not be prepared with any substitutes procured from a local resource. That is the level of discipline to ensure extreme quality, taste, and genuinty in the dishes and food. That is a great level of commitment towards its customers and guests.
Not only the food, but it's also the unique culture and experience that is more than delightful. It's a combination of luxury and rich experience. Let me highlight the key features of some classic and traditional drinks here that are prepared with utmost care and perfection. The first one is Sambharam. It is entirely different. Basically, it is all time Kerala's spicy buttermilk that is tampered with fresh coriander, turmeric, ginger, and curry leaves. Yedded Punchi Panaka is one of the best drinks. It is a perfect blend of black pepper, jaggery, water, and tamarind. So, actually, it is a sweet, spicy, and tangy drink. Punar Puli is made of kokum, water, and sugar. The word itself means kokum in the local language. Kokum is used traditionally in many south Indian curries as an alternative to tamarind. Kokum hails from the family of mango stream.
Sol Kadi is a fabulous drink. It is made with coconut milk, dried kokum fruit, spices, finally tempered with roasted garlic. Elaneeru Shunti Nimbehannu is another classic drink that is a combination of fresh tender coconut water, pressed ginger, and lime. After these fabulous drinks, let us relish some fabulous starters. Kori Ghee Roast is a pan tossed chicken with byagdi chili, clarified butter, and original spices from Mangalore. Butter Pepper Garlic Prawn is something I never miss whenever I visit here. It is uniquely prepared that makes its taste fabulous. It is batter fried prawn cooked with butter, pepper, and garlic. Malvani Mutton Masala was so delicious that I finished it in no time. It is mutton cooked with ginger, onion, and a unique set of the spice mix. In veg, Kalimirchi Lotus Stem is one of the best dishes.
Lotus stem is deep fried and then tossed with black pepper, onion, and garlic. Now, comes the best of all. It is Kaju Sanadige, one of the signature dishes here. Whole cashew nuts are fried along with coconut slices that are further tossed with crushed pepper with a finishing touch with curry leaves. In the main course section, Malabar Stew is fantastic. It is a fresh mix of vegetables with coconut milk and curry leaves. Allepey Meen Manga Curry is a real treat for fish lovers like me. It is fish cooked with raw mango slices further cooked in coconut gravy. Kori Kundapuri is one of the best chicken dishes that have chicken cooked in coconut gravy. Pundi goes well with Kori Kundapuri. Pundi, actually, is a steamed rice ball mixed with semolina (Rawa) and grated coconut.
Neer Dosa, as the name suggests, is a very soft and ultra thin pan cake made with rice. When I visit and dine at Sana-di-ge I don't forget to order Kerala Paratha. If I don't order that, it will be a big mistake that I can't afford to make. Kerala Paratha is nothing but Malabar Paratha, a multilayer pan fried paratha made with flour and ghee. The same goes true for Mangalorean Appam that is a flat and soft pan cake made with fermented rice batter. It is also quite soft and thin. Nei Choru is a memorable rice dish made with rice tossed in pure ghee, cashew nuts, onion, and curry leaves. Among desserts, I preferred Elaneer Payasam and Ragi Mani. Ragi Mani is a finger millet pudding that is a superb delicacy from the Kannadiga heartland. The presentation of Elaneer Payasam is excellent. So is its taste. It is another signature dish at Sana-di-ge.
It is made with fresh coconut milk and Tender coconut pulp. I ended this fabulous journey with Dakshin filter kaapi.

By far one of the best coastal flavours from starters platter to the appam and neer dosa with mabalar and sukkha to the payasam. Sanadige is chic , expensive yet worth tasting!

This place is one of a kind with it’s own authenticity, sophistication and an overall serene vibe. The name Sana-di-ge is a Tulu interpretation of the large brass lamp at the entrance.

This place majors in serving Konkan coastal food and delights from Dakshin Kannada, Maharashtra and Kerala. Their hospitality is undeniably welcoming right from the entrance where you’re greeted the Indian way, to showing you your bay and providing a personalised service at your table, till you bid your good byes.

To start with food, we had a complimentary basket of Rice Papad served with an assortment of chutneys. The papad was crispy and fresh, not too greasy and a tad bit spicy. I enjoyed it along with the chutneys.

Then we tried a tester of 4 drinks from their menu: Elaneer Shunti Nimbehannu, Punar Puli, Kokam Kadi and Sambharam. While all of them had a good taste, my personal favourite was Punar Puli. The Nimbehannu was very refreshing with the taste of coconut water and a dash of lime and mint. The Kokam Kadi was earthly. The Sambharam was good, but a little bland.

We moved on to the soups next. The Nuggekai Saaru was basically a drumstick lentil soup. Quite simple yet nice to have for a cold weather. The Kurumilagu Rasam was the real delight though. A tad bit of tang and an appropriate amount of spiciness added to the taste.

One of the things about this place is that, if you aren’t familiar with the names of the food or delicacies, you can always reach out to the staff or the chef to suggest you what to order, based on your taste preferences.

We tasted several starters, but among my favourites were Ananas Ragi & Bija Shavige, and Kali Mirchi. The former is basically a salad with pineapple and nuts with honey and chilli flakes served on vermicelli. I’ve to admit it was kinda addictive. And so was the later, lotus stem tossed in pepper and garlic with curry leaves. The Kempu Bezule was a very sober and least spicy baby corn dish, could be proffered for kids or people with sensitive tastebuds. The Alambe Sukka on the other hand was a little too spicy Mushroom dish.

I personally loved the combination of Neer Dosa with Ghee Roast. Ghee roast being on of their specialities, you shouldn’t miss out on this one.

For main course, we had a Sanadige Basket consisting of Manglorean Appam, Moode, Pundi and Neer dosa. They also served us a Kerala Appam, which is not included in the basket but can be ordered separately. To accompany with it, we had Malabar Stew, Ulli Theeyal and Alambu Arepu. And not to forget some of Thengina Kai Anna. Both the appams were good, but I would personally recommend the Kerala appam over the Mangalorean appam. Pundi and Moode are both basically semolina cooked in different ways, which makes Pundi seem little heavier in terms of appetite. And Need dosa is a very thin rice dosa which has a subtle taste. Based on the spiciness of these you gotta choose what to pair with it. The stew has a lighter plainer taste to be combined with something that is a bit more saltier. While the Shallot Curry(Ulli Theeyal) and Mushroom Curry (Alambu Arepu) is to be paired with something that is plainer. You could also eat these curry with Thengina Kayi Anna which is basically sumptuous rice with the coconut, mustard seeds and curry leaves.

The best part about all the food that they serve is that, the ingredients are all locally sourced and then shipped to the restaurant via air multiple times in a week. So you can literally taste the authenticity in their delicacies. Adding to the vibe of genuinity is all the crockery, which are designed in the old Indian ways giving the real luxury feels.

Last, but not the least, we had the dessert. And this was like an elixir - peculiarly refreshing, very earthy and… I’m kinda running out of words to describe it. The Elaneer Payasam is basically tender coconut cream with coconut pulp, so good!

I would strongly recommend this place. Family dinners, business lunches, fancy dates - this is a place you have to try for the occasions.

I am so glad we decided to have my birthday dinner at this wonderful restaurant. They have an elaborate menu to choose from (which is a task in itself 😅). We ordered Vendalu Paneer, Garlic Butter Prawn and sole fish. Each of them were finger licking good. In main course, we ordered Kai Korma, Kori Sukka and Uppam. Again they were also relishing. In drinks, I had watermelon based mocktail and filter coffee.

Service is good. Ambience is good for long conversations. I would highly recommend this place.

A must visit.

Their service is commendable. They will serve the food themselves in thali and keep on asking about the taste of the food. Chef also visits the table at the end and ask for suggestions. Deeply touched by there food and service. Chef Sukesh is amazing.

The only place in Delhi which can be called a heaven for sea food lovers. I visit this place almost every few weeks and it has never disappointed me. Fresh sea food with the flavours of all cuisines around the coastal sides of India. Every dish is unique in its own. My personal favourite- Pomphret suji fried, prawns ghee roast, mushroom pepper fry and Malabar fish Curry and almost every crabs dish.
MilesnMeals
A fine dine set up spread over three floors with an escalator.... Open space seating also available

Menu has an extensive range of beverages with the authentic flavours from Coastal India.. Mahrastra karnataka mangalore and goa

The starters with yeti salad and Koshamri is a surprise as we usually take salads as tiny sides in coastal cuisine but here one can have wholesome bowl to one self if looking for healthy options.

Starters
whatever u may choose would be different from the other in its flavours.

Anjal Tawa Fry
Yeti karo patta
Ghee roast chicken were. My favourite apart from the gian style creamy corn... Butter Pepper Corn

The mains can sweep. U off ur seat as the options are more than u expect and anything chosen woukd just make u wish to have many bellies to have tried it all...

Malabar stew
The shallot curry
And the lady fish kundapuram curry with Manglorean apam are my favourites

Desserts might seme to be almost impossible after such a hearty meal but do try the coconut payasam as. Its flavoursome wrap. Up. Without bothering your already full Appetite.

From their ambience, to their decor covering their food menu which included their refreshing drinks too, every single detail about this place is really beyond quality. It's one of those place that you should, should and definately should visit.
This place is a sneak peak for all the sea-food lover as this restraunt serves the best coastal cuisine in Delhi NCR

If you a lover of sea food then this is the spot has lot of variety and good menu.
The place is nice and well built and decorated very nicely. Murg Ghee roast and fish was our order along with some sea food like prawn dish. All were arrived to our table quickly and it was nicely presented. Good taste and nice portion. Attentive staff and nice service. High price but the quality is good here.

Honestly, one of the best South Indian food places in Delhi. Having travelled for 2 hours from Gurgaon, only to dine here, i must say, it lived up to it's reputation.
Must try-
1. Mangalore Mutton Curry with Sanna
2. Patrani Machhi
3. Veg Pulimunchi
4. Crab Milagu Fry
5. Payasam

The Payasam however took the cake for this meal. It was surprisingly decadent and refreshing.

Truly a great dining experience!

Coastal food is so rich in its taste and preparation and to get the same taste and richness here in Delhi, was a huge surprise. I recently visited Sanadige and i was in awe of the food and its preparation. Their seafood is sourced all the way from Maharashtra and its commendable on how I got to taste just the typical flavours one gets to taste near indian coastal areas. A really good job on that aspect!
So while I dined here, I tried a variety of dishes. I must say that whether it was the crab or chicken or prawns; they were cooked to perfection, absolutely tender. The coconut buttermilk and the ginger coconut water were my favourite drinks! A few dishes that really blew me away -
• Chicken Ghee Roast - what a bang on preparation! Absolutely delicious. The chicken was juicy and tender; while the podi ghee masala was spicy and earthy! Really good.
• Anjal Tawa Fry - This reminded me of the fish fry I have tried on the beaches of Goa. Bhetki fish fillet with a spicy mix rub and a few drops of zingy lemon; amazing! This one has tiny bones, so be careful!
• Stuffed Kurle - Deshelled crab served in the crab head tossed in a tomato-onion masala garnished with cheese; I must say even with all the masala, I could taste the sweetness of the crab. So tender and juicy. Really good!
• Lotus Stem Kali Mirch - I didnt have very high expectations of this, but the crisp garlic skins, the light battered lotus stems and the overall preparation just made is extremely different and a great appetiser!
For the mains -
• Malabar Stew - thick, rich soupy stew best with appam and the semolina based pancake. Just sipping on it was so soothing to the palate.
• Mangalorean Mutton Curry - I must take a moment to appreciate how tender the mutton was! Bite sized pieces but absolutely tender and juicy. Really good with the coconut rice ball and the coconut rice!
• Kadle Basale Curry - This one was my favourite. The curry tasted a lot like sambar with chana and spinach. This one went well with the appam again!
Their dessert literally stole the show!
Elaneer Payasam was a brilliant dessert. I have to say that it definitely made it to my top favourite Indian desserts. Really good! To taste the coconut flesh in the creamy goodness; excellent. Definitely a must try!

Kudos to the entire team for hosting us with excellent food. Specially shoutout to chef Sukesh for introducing us to the flavors of the konkan coast and ensuring we had a great meal! Cheers!

Follow my food journey on Instagram at AllThatSheAte!!

Truly authentic coastal kitchen! The food variety, quality, taste and the vibe of the place is top notch! The chutney platter they serve at the begginning is something to look forward to. I also liked the concept of beard basket which helps you try a variety of breads like neer dosa, appam, etc.

Sanadige means Brass lamp in Tulu and just like the lamp brings light in a dark the same way this place has made me a part of it and lightened me with the rich and amazing food and service.
They have indoor and rooftop seating arrangements and both are amazing in their own aspect. They have a lift as well.
I had an amazing time here and would love to share my experience in terms if food, ambience and service.
Starting with food
As soon as you sit they bring you rice crackers and Sanadige Kaju which were so addictive. I loved it a lot.
Then we had ordered
- Kokum drink
- Sol Kadi - Nice color and burnt garlic to garnish
- Sambharam - this reminded me of one of my mothers dish.
These were too yumm and its known to increase the appetite.
Then for appetizers we had ordered variety of food -
- Prawn butter pepper garlic - This was buttery and the prawns were cooked perfectly.
- Anjal tawa fry - This was a beautiful fish and it was crunchy and yummy. Loved the flavors.
- Stuffed kurle - this was my first time with the crabs and I must say that it was yumm. It was topped with cheese. They are celebrating crab festival so this was one of their recommendations and so we went for this option.
- Chicken ghee roast - This was different to the taste palate as you get to taste a lot of ghee and with chicken that still makes me crave for it.
- Mushroom Varuval - well prepared.

For main course we had -
- Assortment of bread from Sanadige which had appam, neer dosa, moode(dal composition is more in this) , pundi and so on. This was perfect.
- Mangalorean mutton curry- I don't have that much mutton but this one made go for the second serving.
- Malabar stew- This was also similar to one of the dishes that my mother makes at home. Coconut base and veggies were a blast.
- Kadle basale curry - This is the chickpea curry which was delicious
- coconut rice - The presentation was too good and the taste was different and yummy.

Dessert
Elaneer payasam - if you are around this place or going to Sanadige then you must have this. I was awestruck by the flavours and the texture. It had perfect sweetness and freshness. Loved it a lot.

At the end I was in foodcoma and its a must visit place for people who love coconut and seafood.

Special thanks to the Restaurant Manager, Chef Sukesh and the staffs who always had a smile on their face and their hospitality was too good. For every query related to the dish they had answers to that and they recommended us amazing dishes.

In no time the space got filled by people. Its like people come and go frequently.

The location is basically in the Malcha Marg.

You would love the place with its interiors.

Tried Sana-Di-Ge for the first time today and it was a wonderful dining experience! The ambience was very good and the place was lively. We would have liked to sit in the open area but refrained from doing so, thanks to the New Delhi pollution! The chef gave us some good suggestions and we tried a dish called 'Kori Ghee Roast'. It was a chicken starter made of ghee and ground spices. The starter was very tasty and really unique. We hadn't tasted this kind of chicken starter in any other place! We also tried 'Yetti Rassa'- a prawn soup. For the main course, we tried Steamed Rice with 'Anjal Pullimunch' which is a Surmai fish. The fish was really tasty and made in sweet and tangy sauce. The best part was the desert! We tried 'Elaneer Payasam' which is a coconut cream based desert and it also contains cocunut pulp. The dish was presented beautifully and it tasted better than any ice-cream or kulfi! It was sweet, cool and really refreshing! We will definitely visit this restaurant again on our next visit to Delhi!

If you are seafood lover, you absolutely must try the crab thali or the seafood thali! Extremely good proportions and quite a variety. Also, they serve appams with the thali which is a delight!

Definitely worth a one-time visit if not more. The food is homely and filling. The ambience is soothing. Would recommend making a reservation if possible.

A place one might go to tantalize their Tongue and Tummy but end up being treated to not just visual delight but satisfying the mind and soul too.
It was our regular Friday night eating out ritual and it's usually modest with top 2 contenders being Soup and salads at Salad Story or South Indian at Flavors of Chennai. But something was different about this fateful Friday night. We were contemplating between Mahabelly, Fat Lulu's or some Mediterranean food but Wifey had other plans. She insisted we had to finally try out the much heard of and from our To-visit list of places - Sa Na Di-ge. In traditional language it means an ornamental lamp, and there is one kept right at the entrance, not to be missed and rather beautiful as well.
As we approached the entrance we were warmly welcomed by a burly teddy-bearish guard gentleman. As we entered we were immediately approached by a warm, suave and sophisticated gentleman(Gaurav Pandey) who, we only got to know much later in the night or rather next morning, was the General Manager for the property. We didn't have a reservation so were asked about how we had heard about the place and landed up. While we were advised about some of the mouth-watering seafood and non-vegetarian delicacies, we informed that we had recently turned vegetarians. Interestingly, we seemed more disappointed than Gaurav who was extremely confident that there were enough vegetarian options on the menu that were equally good or better. One being a skeptic and also having been a non-vegetarian earlier that was difficult to believe but it was just one more to the list of surprises from the evening.
Nevertheless, we took a ride on the very slow and all glass elevator to the top floor and were seated. Must say the interiors and the decor are quite classily done. The menu has hints in the form of symbols to guide but we had more than enough help with Anup having some suggestions which seemed to agree with our plan and sensibilities but more importantly also got a stamp of approval from the Chef himself who Gaurav had the foresight and courtesy to introduce to us. There was a basket of traditional chips/rice papad with a bouquet of 4 types of condiments to keep us busy while we waited impatiently for the food to arrive. We had ordered for a bread basket and Elumbu Uruku. In drinks we chose Sol Kadi which was fresh, rejuvenating and appetizing. We also tasted Paanakam which didn't appeal much to Wifey but I happened to quite like (but then who am I to matter). The food arrived and it was delicious, the basket had Neer Dosas, Appams, Uruppu Urundai and one more variety. I loved all 4 while wife stuck to favourite Neer Dosa but also obliged Appams and Uruppu. We would have loved to try dessert but we were too full and just decided to settle for Filter coffee. It could be that the other stuff was too good or just that we love and have filter coffee so often that it didn't seem extraordinary, but then the expectations were quite high anyways.
Once the meal was over, began the 'silsila' of conversation with Gaurav which stretched beyond midnight which was way way past their closing time. The topic ranged from life experiences to culinary knowledge and past jobs to vegetarianism and veganism etc. And finally the chord struck regarding giving back to people, community, the lesser privileged and disaster stricken. It was then that the topic landed on SVATANYA and how there could be synergies around trying to marry the for-profit with the give back agenda.
That's how an evening that began with the motive of catering to the needs of Tongue and Tummy lead to satisfying the mind and soul too!
#Coastal #Konkani #Hospitality #Service

It's a beautiful property in chanakya puri, spread over two floors and an amazing outdoor seating. It's patronized by many foreign diplomats and people who have a thing for South Indian cuisine. Sana-Di-ge means brass lamp in Tulu Language and a beautiful brass lamp is a cultural symbolism of many Indian homes.

It covers Mangalorean, Malabari, Andhra, Tamil Nadu and from various other regions. The food has a rich cultural heritage and speaks of recipes perfected over many years and unravels hidden recipes that dwindled over time. They have also taken inspiration from Syrian and Christian communities that had migrated to India during the age of exploration.

The chicken Ghee roast was spectacular, you can almost feel the essence of spices thats glazed over the boneless chicken chunks and a sensational taste was imparted by the dish. Every dish here is innovative and unique, meats, fishes and prawns were bursting with flavours and zest. We coupled them with south-indian breads as Neer dosa, appam and Malabari Paratha. Service is quite commendable and almost everything we tried had a authentic ring to it. They have well preserved the age-old tradition of South-indian cooking and it was an enriching experience to dine here.

In desserts you must try the Pyassam that's curated excellently by coconut milk, rice and dry-fruits and has a very pure earthy taste.

You know what Shilpa Shetty, Aishwarya Rai, Sunil Shetty, Anushka Shetty have in common? They are also famous as Tulu actors. Tulu is a dravidian language by the way. But why the mention of Tulu? Sanadige means brass lamp in Tulu! So give a warm welcome to giant brass lamp when you enter this place, because that explains the place.

If you are a die hard fan of coastal cuisine, never visit this place, because if you do, then surely you will end up having food here for the rest of your life! And please mark my words - FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE. The food is lavish, delicious and the staff's hospitality will pamper you to the sky. The food was rich in taste and stayed in our taste buds for long.

One of the most outstanding places in delhi NCR for good coastal cuisine. Absolutely awesome ambience and amazingly courteous staff. Outstanding food - Alleppey mango fish curry and Kerala coastal chicken are a must try with the hot appams. The gulkhand & banana payasam really stands out !

Me and my seafood loving friends have been looking forward to a meal at Sana-Di-Ge for some time now. Finally coordinating our schedules we finally made it for a Saturday night dinner that exceeded all possible expectations.

We tried the signature seafood platter which was not only scrumptious, but each component of the platter was significantly distinct in taste. For mains we had the Crab Karavali Curry with neer dosa which was spicy and delicious.

There are two highlights to this experience. Firstly, the seafood is incredibly fresh and melts in the mouth. Easily the best and freshest seafood I have tasted in Delhi. Secondly, the service staff is excellent! Our server Dhananjay was well versed in the menu and extremely courteous and attentive. He responded to our queries in a flash and was extremely helpful in assisting us to pick out the perfect dinner selection.

However, there is one down side. I'll have to keep coming back till I finish eating through the entire menu! All in all, a definite 5 🌟 experience.

To be honest I had a lot of expectations from this place but ended up disappointing myself to the core. Taste is the main reason why I disliked it.

Not many people know they have a separate Indian menu also , not sea food one. Helps the vegetarian folks - good food and courteous service

One of those quaint go to place for peaceful family dinners

Experience of having brunch with family at this place was heavenly.

The menu features coastal food specialties like Malwani food from Maharashtra, Konkan food from Goa and Mangalorean from Dakshin Karnataka.

I tired a lot of dishes would recommend all the menu, but there were sone dishes which won my heart,

Avial was outstanding. It was prepared perfectly and had all the required ingredients in right amount. This was one of the best avial i have ever had.

Ghee roast was light and well spiced with flavours. This is the only place in Delhi NCR which serves best ghee roast.

Mutton lovers can go for mamsukka. Mutton cooked in sukka masala with coconut in it.

Appam were freshly prepared and went well will all the dishes be it a starter or a main course.

Fish lovers must try Meen Moilee, fresh fish simmered in coconut milk with ginger, garlic and green chillies, finished with tomatoes a Syrian Christian specialty.

And not forget to try pysam in dessert.

Do visit this place yo have a great and authentic south India meal.

Pros:
Very beautiful place with lovely interiors

Authentic Coastal cuisines from multiple coastal areas: Kerala, Maharashtra, Goa etc.

Great place to go to with family

Parking (paid) is easily available

Quality food

Staff is very courteous

Coming to some meals:

- Butter pepper garlic prawns in starters was delicious and a very unique preparation

- Murg tikka was avg. have definitely had much better

- Galouti kabab was delicious. One of the most succulent ones I have had and not even very heavy

- Paneer tikka was differently made. Not the usual preparation. Can’t describe how it tasted but it tasted good. My mother is a vegetarian and she enjoyed it

- Avial – mix veg main course dish from Kerala. Was quite yum

- Alleppey meen manga curry – fish in coconut gravy with a paste of raw mango in it and medium spicy – everyone including me loved it

- Mangalorean mutton curry – this was also very tasty. Absolutely worth it. 9-10 small mutton pieces came in the dish

- Appam – not all of us enjoyed appam with the dishes, I think they are more of an acquired taste. You could play safe and just have tandoori roti with the dishes. We ordered some rotis also, they were good. Ordered lachcha paranthas also, they were tasty too

- Dal be aab tadka – this was dal makhni and it was very good. Thick but not very heavy like most dal makhni you will find elsewhere. Just having this dal with lachcha parantha was so delicious!

- Ended with jalebi and rabri – would give them 8/10 here. It was very good, but can’t call it the best I have had. Gulab jamun was amazingly good 10/10 for those!

Cons:

The only con I can point out is the price. Every dish is upward of 500-600 rs. We were 7 adults and our bill came for 16k with 9 red label drinks. There were a couple of folks who didn’t eat a lot. If they ate heartily, the bill would have crossed 20k.

This is a restaurant par excellence. I had heard so much about this place but my experience was just the worst. Whatever we ordered was either not fresh or wasn’t cooked properly as it left me with very bad diarrhoea.

Nevertheless.

What did I order?

1. Nilgiri Chicken - 2/5
2. Malabar Paratha - 2/5
3. Kolhapuri murgh - 1/5

⭐️ ⭐️

Amazing food and quick service. Most of their dumplings come with a broth which is fragrant and flavorful. One place I keep frequenting be it a good day, need some cheering up or simply when I need some good good food.
