I had heard a lot about this place from fellow foodies and was able to finally visit after years. Loved the food itself, the menu and it's authenticity. I loved the freshness of the ingredients too. I have reduced one star simply because there is room for improvement in areas like cleanliness, service and time management - the food was all good
Fantastic food! I could have had a cheaper meal even back in Sweden, but the smoked pork with black sesame seeds was worth every last rupee. I only wish I'd been hungrier!
I have been to Dzükou quite a few times over the past 1.5 years - quite obviously it's a sea-change from your quintessential north Indian and North+Continental affair that used to be the staple of Delhi fine/casual-fine dining scene till about the late 2000s.
There are three prominent North-Eastern restaurants in South Delhi that i have been to- Dzükou, Nagaland's Kitchen and Naga Bamboo.
Out of those three, the strengths of this restaurant are the uniqueness of its cuisine and the relaxed dining environment.
I was somewhat disappointed the last time I was here as the portions have become a bit meagre compared to the last time.
But otherwise, the quality and service is top-notch.
I had suggested to my partner that we don't get momos for two reasons:
1. why go to a speciality north-east restaurant only to eat dumplings
2. it isn't their forte so one cannot be sure of the age/freshness of the dumplings (or indeed, if they didn't come out of a bag).
I would suggest the same to you - stick to the main course and side dishes.
Cutlery and crockery: 5/5
Health quotient: viable, 4/5
Washroom: small but mostly clean and functional: 4/5
Ambience, food, etc. etc. : 5/5
Price to quantity ratio: used to be 4/5 but has now become 3/5. Bear in mind I am the kind of person who considers anything other than buffet breakfast at 5 stars a colossal inanity. And also I don't eat grains in dinner, so that is also a factor in the fulfilness of a meal.
Beverage options: nothing for the health conscious tea-totaller: 1/5
Price for one diner: 1-1.2k
Price for two diners: 1.4-2k
Overall, i don't want to ding the place for my last visit, so 4/5 is fair. I wish they would do more events/music-nights though.
