While hunting for Biryani places to deliver some authentic Biryani to my place, I came across The Biryani Project and was awed by their menu and the explanatory descriptions for each type of Biryani. Browsing through the various flavours and reading their descriptions, I thought of trying Lucknowi Biryani. When I called to order, the owner gave me a further explanation on the various flavours of Biryani and how they are made. I ordered Lucknowi Biryani and before I received it, I got a call from the owner again telling me how to serve it from the handi. I was really impressed with the call and haven't seen anybody putting in so much of efforts in their work. In addition to this, there was an instruction tag hanging on the outside of the handi telling us how to serve it. The delivery was well before time and the biryani came in a big handi along with raita in a glass jar. The biryani was colourful and as explained by the owner, colourful white, yellow and orange rice were on the top with mutton pieces and masala at the bottom. The aroma of Biryani filled the air as soon as I opened the lid of the handi. Talking about taste, it was really good and made with perfection. It was evident from the flavours that a lot of research has gone behind making this masterpiece. Spices were subtle and the rice were of supreme quality and the mutton was soft and delicious. A must try place for all Biryani lovers and for those who want to give authentic Biryanis a try!

I've been in the restaurant industry for almost 2 years now and I have tried a lot of different types of biryanis from around India but never have I ever tasted something as authentic and satisfying as the biryanis from TBP. The moment you take a bite you know that no compromise what so ever has been made in the ingredients, the biryani or even the packaging. I had the pleasure of trying their biryani in the very initial days, when everything was being put in place. The biryani's have only changed for good from the the first time I had it. Highly recommend if you are a biryani/food lover, you won't be dissapointed at all and trust me, the biryani they offer is a steal deal in the price it comes for the quality/quantity and experience it has to offer. #willkeepordering

September 2020

I have never stopped ordering from this place ... almost once a week. They have consistently delivered the best. No complaints.

May 2020

Bang centre of Lockdown 3.0 this place has still not disappointed. I may not be eating or drinking out but my craving for delicious made-to-order high quality premium biriyani (I can run out of adjectives here folks) is not left unsatisfied. Also probably this is the 4th time I have ordered in midst of this lockdown. Please bring back lucknowi style biriyani as soonaspossible. Please bring back mutton on your menu as soon as possible. Never ever fall on taste and quality.

October 2019

The restaurant rose to the occasion on Diwali and delivered a spectacular scrumptious serve of biriyani and curries. Worth the premium they charge. They deserve their high rating in my opinion. Kudos to the owners, managers and staff of this place. Please keep up.

I ordered the bhora community paneer handi biriyani, and just like its description the dish is very different from the usual biriyanis that we order. The biriyani had lots of paneer and the rice wasn't sticky, the texture and taste of the biriyani takes your taste buds on an adventure! Faced no issues with the delivery. It's a must try!!

This place had been on my bookmarks since a REALLY long time, considering the excellent reviews it has managed to garner, but just could't order for some failure or the other! But when I finally ordered with super high expectations, failure of which could've led to grief, I'm so so glad it was otherwise! Since they offer only Hyderabadi biryani for vegetarians, that was the only option I had and couldn't be more glad! So lets get down to the basics of biryani: Biryanis are different from a veg pulao because: 1. It is dum cooked. 2. It is layered. The biryani project masters in this. Perfectly layered, good quality long grain basmati rice impressed me as soon as i opened the lid. What differentiates the biryani project from other outlets? Their authenticity. While most restaurants fail to add curd or lemon to the hyderabadi biryani to give it a tangy/ sour taste, this one has it all sorted. Also, the vegetables were properly blended with the rice. Yes, its a little expensive outlet but worth all the money

Do not have words to express the experience. The presentation was amazing the earthen pot they sent the Biryani at gave a sense of satisfaction with the wonderful taste and aroma along with the nicely packed raita to complement the Biryani. Hats off to the the person who had the brilliant idea to win the hearts of many with their food and presentation. Highly recommended.

Although I am not a big fan of biryani but sometimes you can't just say no especially when it's from The Biryani Project. When you look at the menu, you would find it's very limited but that's the beauty of it. They focus to bring authentic taste of biryani from different regions of India. They serve hyderabadi, Lucknowi and godavari biryani. I ordered Hyderabad chicken dum biryani. The delivery was well within time and the biryani was served sizzling hot with raita. They basically deliver in earthenware pots(handi) which you open at home, mix the biryani and have it. The biryani was amazingly flavorful with succulent pieces of chicken. It's as if, it's coming straight from Hyderabad. The spices were perfectly balanced, the aroma was ecstatic. And it had a good number of chicken pieces which were perfectly cooked. The biryani tasted great with raita. Overall, The Biryani Project should definitely be on your list of you want to try some epic biryani and I would recommend it to everyone.

The best biryani I've ever had. I ordered, Hyderabadi chicken biryani, it was so well packed, tasty, so flavourful and so yum it was. They also served Raita with Biryani. The biryani tasted so authentic. Moderate spices, loved it. Also it was prepared in a handi and the same handi got delivered to me..fresh biryani. You should definitely try out this outlet.

I placed an order from this newly opened outlet. I ordered for Hyderabadi Dum Chicken Biryani. They are eco friendly and cook their Biryanis in the earthen pots which is ultimately delivered to your door step as if curated and cooked at your own house: making you feel special. I totally loved the flavours and the kesari fragrance of the Biryani. Hyderabadi Biryani is also one of their specialty and take my word it surely is.

The Biryani Project is a delivery outlet located in Greater Kailash 2 (GK2), New Delhi and the place is known for delivering authentic flavors of Biryani in Delhi, NCR till 11:00 P.M. The Biryani Project sets the benchmark when it comes to Biryani and stay true to its name as they serve Biryani, Curries in an earthen handi. Before I go in detail I would like to say that “The Biryani Project” comes into existence after 2 years of research and the people behind The Biryani Project have traveled to cities and done enough research to make this project successful. Their aim is to deliver authentic Biryani from all over India and their dedication towards food is amazing. I want to congratulate “The Biryani Project” (owners + team) for bringing up this joint in Food Map of New Delhi. Apart from this, we all know that Biryani needs no introduction and it’s not just a food, it is an emotion, the same you’ll find on the front page of the menu (listed on Zomato). In addition to this, the Biryani is introduced by the Mughals and the Arabs in India, and the Biryani witnesses a wide variation across the country be it Hyderabadi Biryani, Awadhi Mutton Biryani, Lucknow Biryani, Calcutta Biryani, etc. – all with their own unique flavor profiles. The thing which makes “The Biryani Project” a special one is that they don’t use Plastic which means that you won’t get any necessary cutlery and the food will be delivered in a handi, not in plastic boxes. The menu card of The Biryani Project is not much wide and it’s small, consisting of all necessary Biryani’s, Curries and North India dishes along with bread and desserts. Out of the whole menu, I ordered Butter Chicken and Nihari Gosht curries instead of Biryani :). Although I’m trying “The Biryani Project” for the first time for a family dinner so have to make sure that everything goes well. I have to say they have lived up to expectation and no words can describe the amount of taste these two curries had. They use best masala/spices, and as soon as you open the pot, you’ll love that aroma. The presentation of curries was amazing. According to me, the reason why the curries taste well it’s because the curries had some fragrance and the taste of earthen utensils blended into them. In terms of quality, it was very good and the portion size does the justice to the price. Looking forward to giving a try to their Biryani’s too. The Butter Chicken and Nihari Ghost are their bestseller and signature curries. The words can’t describe the packaging whatever you say be it brilliant, impressive or royal, it totally stunned you. Both the curries served in earthen pots (Handi) sealed in atta so that the curries remain fresh, hot and the flavors remain intact. The Handi is covered with coil rope or you can say nicely tied up with red ropes, you can reuse the rope with some plant or with anything as per your wish. Special mention to the delivery person, he was polite, well-mannered and explains why we don’t use plastic at The Biryani Project. Delivery was fast and the food delivered to me was piping hot. Overall it was a scrumptious experience with the food and delivery. It’s recommended that you should try this joint not just for food but also enriching experience. Looking forward to trying more dishes from their menu and hoping that they will add more dishes to their menu card :).

A big shoutout to all the biryani lovers of Delhi , if you have not tried the Biryani Project, then you have missed out on something. This place located in GK deliveres in most parts of South Delhi , and they specialise in Biryani. The menu is not much elaborate with just 4 or 5 listings. But Biryanis are as authentic as they can can get. I ordered thier Godavari Murgh Biryani, through the Zomato app, the process was smooth and the food arrived within promised time. The Biryani was nicely tucked in a clay Handi , properly sealed with Atta and fully insulated. As soon as the lid of the pot was removed, the aroma engulfed the room. Top quality long grain Biryani rice on the top and spicy masala loaded chicken pieces on the bottom. No prizes for guessing that it was super delicious. A lot of aromatic herbs such as cardomom, staranese, curry leaves and other whole spices enhanced the flavours with a touch of South Indian flavours. To compliment it Dahi ka Raita tempered with sarson and whole red chili was given. The quantity is enormous, and easily satiated three of us. I must mention here that places like Biryani project might be a little highly priced , but as soon as you try such eateries , you know how much effort and research has been induced to bring up such concept. The standards of cooking and hygiene are top notch. The ingredients are pure and used in right quantities , and the result is a world class product. Do try the Biryani project and be assured you will get addicted. Must try : The Godavari Murgh Biryani
