Review Ahad Sons Restaurants - New Delhi

Simal Mohamad
Food was excellent. If you're new to Delhi, this is a MUST TRY place. It's always crowded in the peak hours, getting a table was difficult for us. Service was fast but still due to the huge crowd it was not competing with the crowd incoming. I couldn't find any negative stacks on the restaurant.

A must-visit in Delhi. You will find very few tourists here. The food is tasty, authentic and cheap. They are super nice and the service is rapid. Try the chole bhature, samosas and jalebis (see attached photos). The mithai (sweets) are also a must-have.
Swati Yadav
They have the best chhole bhature and cold coffee. Such balanced flavours, freshly made. Their kulfi is also nice - not too sweet, just the right mix of sweetness and flavours. They had such cute paper straws. I asked for some extra and they happily obliged. Must visit place. They have decent space for sitting as well.

ऊंची दुकान, फीकी पकवान! This phase is absolutely suitable for this Shop. Just because this Shop is old and situated in South-Ex, lots of people do visit here.

This place is actually very Hygienic and clean when it comes to restaurants , I had some snacks like ( Dahi puchka ) and Amritsari Thali which was quite good. You can try other items too , allmost its good. A good Family Restaurant :)

Loved the food. We really like the amritsari platter, fresh lime, sweet lassi and jalebi with rabdi. All food were awesome. Sabzi served with amritsari platter were also very delicious. Will go again and will try some more items. Well spent daughter day.

A necessary stop for superb sweets. The variety and quality are mindblowing. The best, most delightful kaju and almond based specialities. In the restaurant side, top Bengali dishes, along North and South Indian snacks. Wonderful and highly recommended!
Astha Puri
Still the same taste.. a favourite from ages.. childhood memories.. so comforting.. great food.. excellent service 🥰

I have been visiting Bengali Sweets since 1990s. Food is the Best that can be had. The only thing that prevents me form giving 5 stars is that the servers (most) are unkempt and the cutlery and crockery is rarely clean. I generally wipe everything with a napkin before using it. But the food keeps me coming back.

Nice! Jalebis are so tasty! Golgappe waale uncle is very sweet!! South Indian food is not good! Rasmalai is also one of the most selling item.

Food is very yummy . Rates are very reasonable . Service is not good because many table is allotted to single person . No other waiter listen to you . Only that waiter will see everything. You have to wait many times to place order that’s the only problem you would face there . Rest everything is nice . I had ordered vegetable platter and sarso da saag makki di roti . It was very good . In past also I had ordered many things like gol gappe ( Suji) , noddles , jalebi , kulfi ka falooda , chole bhatura , papdi chaat . These were also good . It’s a pure veg restaurant. Money particularly depends on how much you things you guys order . Someone order many dishes and some order few so I have just given an idea about spend per person . Rest I don’t recommend the sweets like ladoo , gujiya , emarti because I think it’s better to buy from haldiram or bikanervala that I thought else you can buy if you like but I don’t like it .

Exceptional shop in the heart of shopping arcade . It's on the left side of shopping hub of South ex while going towards okhla . There is enough parking but is seriously busy and clogged on week days . The ship is brilliant and has all the varieties of North Indian sweets, chat a, dosa, snacks, chole kulche, bhature , dahi bhalle et all. It has a small sitting area with smart chairs where one can sit and eat inside the shop. The service is fast and snappy and the waiters good natured and well behaved. Whenever you plan a shopping in that Magnum super place , don't bother about where to eat. This is the place . The South ex is a shoppers paradise . All branded shops are around. Nalli and Frontier raas need a special mention. The Levi's and west side are super stores . While in Delhi a must visit place for an exhilarating experience indeed.

I recently dined at the Bengali Sweet Centre in South Extension I, New Delhi, and it was a delightful experience. The quality of the food they offer is truly commendable, delivering flavors that stay true to the essence of Bengali cuisine. The ambiance at the restaurant is both comfortable and inviting, creating a pleasant atmosphere for dining with friends or family. What truly shines here, though, are their delectable Bengali sweets. From rasgullas to sandesh and a variety of other sweet treats, each bite transported me to the heart of Bengal. If you're in the mood for authentic Bengali cuisine and crave high-quality sweets, the Bengali Sweet Centre is a hidden gem in New Delhi. It's a wonderful place to savor the essence of Bengal's culinary traditions.

When in India, it’s important to eat as the locals do. This is often difficult because as non residents our stomachs may not be ready to try all of that. Bengali sweet corner meets the perfect requirements. Good amount of cleanliness. Large variety of food options. And most importantly, amazing desserts. Must try restaurant. Have a gander at the chole with pathura. Try the Kalakand. You’ll definitely want to come back for more.
Ishan Jindal
Awesome chaat. I loved it. Do try their gol gappe, papdi chaat and tikki.

Worst experience with the AHAD. They don’t have the courtesy to speak to a customer. They should change their attitude. Please don’t buy anything from them. Taste of food is not good at all...

Never had such tasty and authentic wazwaan in delhi before, indeed they have maintained the quality.ordered rogan josh, yakhni, methi, lehbi kebab,10/10 on every dish.

Authentic Kashmiri Food<br/><br/>It was my wife's birthday and I wanted to surprise her by ordering Kashmiri food for lunch. I ended up ordering Dum aloo, Tomato gravy paneer, Nadru Yakhn, Haaq, Chicken Rogan Josh, Gustaba and Rista. I can't appreciate their food enough, it was that good. I was initially unsure of what to order but then spoke with the owner and he guided me well. His recommendations were spot on. In summary, if you wish to taste authentic Kashmiri food, then Ahad Sons does the job perfectly.
Gauri Rishi
I tried this place after years. The Roganjosh and Gustaba was excellent. Flavours were authentic and reminded me of the food we get in Srinagar.

Don't know why they have t tied up with zomato. Like the place but not always does 1 want to go and walk to the place etc...management should consider

Suggested by a kashmiri friend to try kashmiri wazwan cuisine. It's a take away joint so ordered for marchwangan korma, roganjosh, rista, mutton seekh kabab, tabakh maaz. The rista was Suttle and nice in taste with loads of spices and fragrance. Roganjosh was good in taste with mutton flavours intact in the gravy which gives it a nice meaty flavored gravy. Tabkh maaz was my favourite among all. Marchwangan korma has a very different yet spicy in taste. The pieces and curry was amazing. Those who love spicy food must try this one. wazwan cuisine is a very unique and is an integral part of kashmiri muslims food culture. If you want to try a real 'wazwan saal' you must visit ahad sons food near uday park.

They have the most amazing waazwan, the Kashmiri food.I have tried some of the other Kashmiri restaurants in Delhi and they were very disappointing. But Ahadsons is the best serving the same.I have tried almost everything and I always order Goshtaba, rista, chicken kebabs, saag rista,Tamatar paneer is brilliant and even dum aloo. There is no dine in here and waiting time is little more but its worth waiting.I Simply love their food.
Danish Bashir
I have tried almost all the dishes available there. Well I'd have to assert that it's one of the leading restaurants in Delhi offering Authentic Kashmiri food. The food tastes delicious, making one feel as if he is back in Kashmir. The methi maaz was a lil too oily, kebabs are awesome, tabak maaz is upto the mark, rista, ruwangan chaman awaken your taste buds tasting as delicious as they can be and of course Roghan josh is also OK, not the best though. The only thing with Ahad Sons is that it has no seating space, you can order the food and have it at home. And the turn offs, too much oil in some dishes like Methi maaz. The yakhni and gushtaba were not as good as expected. After tasting delicious starter and main course, the last dish Yakhni was distasteful and unpalatable.

Ahad sons have lost the touch... <br/>The food once was the talk of the town<br/>Since the place doesn't have a sitting arrangment we ordered the items<br/>We ordered rajmah, rice, chicken seekh kabab, chicken masala<br/>The rice is steamed<br/>Chicken seekh kabab were fried rather being skewered<br/>Chicken masala was horrible.<br/><br/>
Rabia
It’s been more then 10 years and we still love this place...when even we want to eat Kashmiri food it’s only this place.<br/>I love everything they make but my favourite is <br/><br/>Rista <br/><br/>Rogan josh<br/><br/>Tabak maaz <br/><br/>Dodh ras <br/><br/>And everything😀<br/><br/>Wish they could start in Gurgoan soon

Great authentic Kashmiri food. My favs are Rista, Goshtaba & Marchwagan Korma. Menu is not overpriced. However they should have better home delivery facility.
Abhinav Sharma
Best rista and goshtaba in town. Haven’t tried other things but this is the closest to wazvaan I’ve had in Delhi. The only issue is finding this place. Its hidden in a residential building behind the mother dairy in uday park
Mobin
Not willing to accept cards or paytm. Accepts cash and added tax. Also I spoke with Asif(who took my order) hanged up phone saying can't help. Machine is not working and need to pay cash. I am not sure why are we paying service tax when they provide pathetic service.
Vidur Lal
DON'T go by the reviews here. I'm half kashmiri, my mother is dogra. I know what kashmiri food should taste like and these guys just don't cut it. <br/>Not worth your money. Ordered a rishta, tabak maaz, hakh saag and nadru yakhni. Every dish was a disappointment. The staff is clueless and doesn't care about your order. The delivery guy didn't bother to get any change. It was a mess all round.
Ayush Kakkar
A hidden gem. Landmark is the Uday Park Mother dairy. Parking is an issue. But its totally worth all the pain if you are looking for authentic Wazwaan. The gravies are just too good and flavourful. I personally have stopped eating the usual gravies. Worth a try for the experimental foodies.

Rating 3.5/5<br/><br/>Not a very famous place serving Kashmiri food.<br/>I tried their food at an event.<br/>Rogan josh had well cooked mutton pieces and have it if you aren’t health conscious. It was rich like it should be. <br/>Seekh kebab was hard and very oily. It was mutton. but had better mutton seekhs which are soft and melt in the mouth

A gem in the heart of Delhi, just the right tonic for a love of Kashmiri Wazwaan. The food is very authentic and can definitely give other waz places a run for their money. <br/><br/>The menu is not extensive but has all the essential stuff. For the ultimate experience try the Goshtaba, Palak Rista, Haaq, Dum Aloo and Rajmah. Do keep in mind that it's not a sit down so take away or home delivery are the only options. Do check the locations on Maps before you go there, finding the joint can be quite a task ( I have learnt from experience ).<br/><br/>A definite go-go if you are in search for some good waz.<br/>

Had ordered food at 7:00 pm to be told that it would be delivered at 8:30 p.m. At 9.15 p.m., discovered that the delivery boy reached a completely wrong address and has no mobile phone with himself to get correct address. On checking / informing the restaurant, we were advised that if the food does not come in 15 minutes, we can just return it! I would never order again from this terrible establishment unless it is the very last one left in Delhi for Kashmiri food (which we all love).

Ghustaba is supposed to be pounded mutton, I got was Soya Chaap made into balls and conveniently charged for mutton. Had to throw the dish away as I had been wanting to visit this restaurant for my love of Kashmiri food but disappointing would be a small word. Would not recommend it to any one.

To beat off the Monday blues, I; along with my colleagues went back to the classics, for the love of food.<br/><br/>Ahad & Sons an authentic Kashmiri WAZA(chef), is one such connoisseur in food industry that promoted Kashmiri cuisine at National as well international platform. The ace chef Khan Abdul Ahad Waza incorporated his culinary experience and its gourmet food right from the heart of Kashmir. He had also been the official cook for Congress party. <br/><br/> There was something unique about the place. The rustic 10 by 10 take away restaurant cum office, had an aristocratic vibe; with its all kashmiri staff. The quarters lay at UDAY PARK near South Extension(adjacent road to mother dairy booth). On the opposite wall one could trace the footsteps of Ahad's journey in restaurant business and their evolution among well known names such as ITC, Taj, Oberoi etc.<br/><br/>Famished and craving for something to serve our empty stomachs we ordered<br/>TABAKH MAAZ as the appetizer, which were perfectly marinated ribs in kashmiri herbs crusty on the outside, tender on inside. Next we ordered the palatable DHANIWAL KORMA fresh coriander, herbs and minced mutton balls dipped in yogurt based gravy with a hint of saffron in it tickles the taste buds.<br/>Being experimental we tried ALOOBUKHAR KORMA, 'a paradise for ones stomach', rich plum curry base with tender chicken meatballs that melt in the mouth. Lastly, The refined flavors of the dish GUSHTABA consumed us with its subtle yet absorbing taste. In the traditional recipe I once tried in Hyderpora, Srinagar; the epicurean pounded the minced Mutton with a wooden pestle in a mortar to get in velvety smooth.<br/>The Food left me with nothing but insatiable at heart. The onion pickle served at the sides was bang on.<br/>Quick tip : Please, keep your diet chart in your closet while having Kashmiri food(don't be duped by a thick layer of mutton fat for oil)

Its all about Kashmiri food love. This was something of a discovery for me. Being a resident nearby I never heard of it untill I actually searched Zomato one fine day. Absolutely excellent food. Definitely try Ghushtaba and Rista along with other items. Delivery is preferred.

Amazing Food !!!<br/>Authentic Kashmiri Stuff served with proper accompaniments. Must try is the Alubukhara Mutton has to be preordered though !!!!

Best Kashmiri Food in town... Undoubtedly!<br/><br/>Apart from the Gushtaba, Rishta & Yakhni even the veggi stuff like Haq, Nadru Yakhni and Chaman is equally awsome ...

I'm a half Kashmiri and have a good knowledge of Kashmiri food.<br/><br/>This is the only place in Delhi serving Authentic Kashmiri Food.<br/><br/>Absolutely love the food here, especially the Dum Aloo.

Blessed to have Kashmiri friends and they took us to this fantastic and authentic Kashmiri food joint. Ordered three of the most difficult dishes and what a food it was. We had gostaba, riste and tarakmaaz.. Please pardon me for spellings.. Food was awesome and you should visit this place if you luv Kashmiri food. Paradise for hardcore no vegetarians 👍🏼👍🏼

Oooo man....i never knew a place that hidden could offer such mind blowing food. The seekh kabaabs...speechless then the roghan josh....best I have ever had. I am a big meat lover, only if cooked properly and this place my friends make it heavenly. Thank you for the really tasty food guys.

This place is hidden in a small jungle.... If you know what I mean... It's a bit difficult to find but the food 🍲 is authentic.... The only hitch is that the food 🍲 is bland... Good for those who are allergic to spices... Otherwise you can visit this place over and over...

If you are looking for authentic Kashmiri or Wazwan cuisine then Ahad sons restaurant located at Uday park is the place where you should go. <br/><br/>It is another thing that locating this hidden gem for some is a herculean task in itself as they dont really have a board or anything; it is located in a bylane next to Mother dairy and is inside a house towards the end of the street. Just ask someone and they will guide you to this place. <br/><br/>Ambience: They do not have a proper seating or anything and if still you want to eat the food there then you can sit inside the office if the very generous and knowledgeable owner and enjoy your food there. The kitchen looked decent at best. Service was nice<br/><br/>Menu: It is famous for the Gushtabas, Yakkhni, & rogan josh. The person I went with tried the chicken rogan josh, & maaz yakkhn which was prepared i some kind of a curd mint gravy, & found the taste authentic & nice in aroma, but it was too oily. <br/><br/>I tried the haakh chaaman which was basically cottage cheese cooked or simmered with Kashmiri spinach which had a nice broth. It was decent in taste but nothing special. Jammu Kashmir region is famous for their Rajmah as well and so I tried it but found the taste of tomato gravy overpowering other spices; was average again. <br/><br/>We had rice with the dishes and it was enough for 2 people. <br/><br/>Vegetarians can steer away from this place but for non vegetarians who crave for such cuisine, they can visit it for sure.

Very good and authentic Kashmiri food. Fast delivery and amazing wazawaan. Their food is simply amazing! Must try. My favorite Kashmiri joint.

This place was in my list from a long time. i heard that this restaurant serves authentic kashmiri food.So we asked for a home delivery as it is near to my house. But i was very disappointed with it because the food tasted pathetic. the worst food i ever ate in delhi. we ordered mutton rista . it was so bad. the gravy consisted of only oil and nothing else. And i wonder why they charge so much for a dish if they can't serve good and tasty food .<br/>overall it was a very bad experience for me. i would recommend everyone not to try anything here.A  big nooooooooo from my side.

It's divine.....!!!! This is so far THE BEST WAZWAAN CUISINE IN SOUTH DELHI.

Perhaps, this take-away joint in Uday Park dishes out the best wazwan in Delhi NCR. We ordered Goshtaba, Rista, Roghan Josh, Saffron Chicken Korma and Fried Ribs (not able to recall the name on the menu). Everything that we ordered was amazing! The spices were largely mild, as is the case with Kashmiri cuisine, but the aroma and taste were superb.
Owais Lone
The only authentic source of Kashmiri cuisine I've found in Delhi after Cashmere and Trami closed down in Hauz Khas. Very authentic. Amazing taste. Don't forget to ask for freshly prepared wazwan as opposed to canned.
Capt Sachin Shrotriya
Best Kashmiri food you can get in Delhi. Tucked away in small lanes behind Uday Park. Landmark is the Mother Dairy Booth. Ask anyone, they will guide you. Rista and Mirchi Korma are the best!
Richie
This was probably the worst food I have had in Delhi and trust me I'm not a fussy eater. You give me regular Chicken curry and rice and I will be a happy satisfied soul but you promise me Kashmiri Wazwan and give me uncooked meat which makes me want to throw up, I damn well will be pissed off. <br/>As soon as the food arrived, I regretted not following what Zainab and others have written in the reviews here. There is just one word for the food: TERRIBLE. <br/><br/>We ordered a portion of Gushtaba, rista and 2 portions of Roghan Josh. (pretty safe deal for someone who has had kashmiri food earlier) <br/>The Rista and Gushtaba were both inedible. The meat was undercooked and the gravy was, well, a watered down version of tomato gravy in one and a curd mixture in the other. I could not have more than one bite of either one. <br/>The Roghan Josh was quite similar with the watered down gravy but the meat wasn't undercooked (Yea, that was a saving grace). Although the pieces they gave us weren't very appetising. I could not eat that either. However, my friends in their attempt to avoid wastage just ate some of the curry with rice. <br/>I just went to my fridge, took out the previous day's dal and ate that for dinner. <br/>Oh, one more thing, they won't give you roti so we had to go buy that separately (although, they tell you that in advance) <br/>All in all, It was a really bad experience. <br/>Avoid at all costs. <br/>P.S I give them 1.5 stars only because it's food and some effort must have gone into it.

I found Ahad Sons on Zomato and after reading all the reviews that spoke so highly of it, my friend and I decided to give it a shot.<br/>First off, the location on Google maps is wrong so we called them and they were very helpful with giving us precise directions till the main road. From there we were asked to ask the cigarette hop guy for the Kashmiri restaurant. Luckily for us, one of the guys at the smoke shop was going the same way and offered  to show us where the restaurant was, so we followed him.<br/>This guy turned out to be very talkative and in conversation told us that the meat quality of the restaurant was not very good but we dismissed him as a jealous neighbour and went ahead to the restaurant.<br/>Well this  a restaurant but just an office (which had a small rat running about) and kitchen.<br/>The man there was really really nice telling us about when they started and who their clients are etc. It was good conversation while we waited for our food. He even helped us figure out what to order as both of us had very little past experience with Kashmiri food.<br/>Once we went home was when the confusion started. We ordered a mutton rogan josh and one rista. Both the gravies looked exactly the same and both were incredibly oily. Not to freak people oit or anything but the meat in the rogan josh didn't look very... appetizing. <br/>The rice was just a sticky blob. But the saving grace was their sheekh which weren't out of this world but they were quite nice.<br/><br/>I don't know if that was an off day, I don't know if they served us bad food cause we looked like inexperienced customers but all I can say is that my experience was nothing like what others on zomato have written.<br/>I have eaten Kashmiri food at 'Chor Bizarre' (the man at Ahad Sons claims they supply to them) and it was nothing like what we were served at Ahad Sons.<br/><br/>All in all, a very disappointing experience even if I lay aside the expectations we had thanks to the Zomato reviews. From next time, I'm sticking to Chor Bizarre for Kashmiri food!
Manish Gautam
This take awat joint was shared by my Dr who is kashmiri pandit he said if you talk about athentic kashmiri wajawan then this is teh best place , so despite being in noida i have travelled to this take away joint , so you can vouch atleast two dish from my side rista & goshtaba , take them by default , i have tried rest of the item but they were just ok ....its better you give them order in advance and pick them , as you may not like waiting there though they have good space to wait for , i didnt like mutton burrah ...vegeterain dishes are ok ,,,i didnt liked much ...PS : please do not order two plates of same dish as they will put in one basket and gravy will be less so better you tell them that you want seperate packing of each plate , this will allow good amount of gravy which is obviously teh best taste ...

Being Kashmiris staying away from Kashmir what we miss the most is the wedding feast called wazwan (apart from the lush green valleys, the beautiful dal lake, the deep blue sky and the heavenly sonmarg, gulmarg and pehalgam). Have eaten at many places claiming to be the most authentic taste of Kashmir but came out really disappointed, that was till I<br/>Found Ahad sons. It's not a restaurant more like a take away counter but it's the food that makes all the difference. It's authentic pure Kashmiri wazwan which you can eat in delhi. The ristas, kebabs, delicious tomato cheese and the Palak are all out of the world (actually it's just pure Kashmir taste but in delhi it tastes even better). If you want to have wazwan in delhi look no further or be duped. I have read in earlier reviews that their home delivery is horrible, I can't comment as I live out of home delivery range so always pick up myself. My only grudge is that being a Kashmiri I know that the great dishes have been priced way more than I could have got them had i been in Kashmir but then that's a big IF. So it's the best you can have here. Heavily recommended

Terribly dishonest people.I am not from Delhi but come here almost every 4-6 weeks on work. This afternoon ordered a meal for three persons. Delivery was to be made in Hauz Khas Enclave - a 10 minutes drive from Uday Park. The person taking the order confirmed that it would be delivered by 1:20 pm. I called at 1: 45 pm  since the parcel had not arrived and I had an appointment with a doctor (which I mentioned to him repeatedly). He said that the guy was leaving just now and would reach in 10/15 minutes. Waited for more than an hour - 3 phone calls in between, every time the stock answer that the delivery boy had left and would reach any moment. Ultimately at 3 pm - more than one and half hours after the committed time - I had to leave for my doctor. My family accompanied me as we all were famished. Ultimately, picked up some cold sandwiches on the way. So much for a royal Kashmiri Lunch! The funniest thing was , after I returned at around 4:45 pm was informed by the attendant that the parcel had still not arrived. Waiting patiently - in case a stale and cold Kashmiri treat awaits us for dinner!!I have read so many positive reviews about Ahad Sons here. But in hindsight I think Zomato is doing a disservice to the customers at large. Most of us are  Indians with our small time thinking - a few good reviews can turn our heads, not to mention steep increases in the prices for no rhyme or reason. What the father builds with sweat and blood the future generations are meant to exploit and destroy. Yes , I am terribly upset - a hungry cheated man is an angry man!

I have never had such delicious non veg food anywhere. 5 stars to Ahad Sons
Aseem
Good authentic Kashmiri food. The best tabak mass I had in Delhi but the portions are small and the biggest drawback is they don't deliver nor do they have sitting for people to eat there. So u just have to go and pick it yourself. which is a bit of a bother.
Aditya Singhal
I have been searching for a Kashimiri place which can give a good choice within wazwan. Sadly, Ahadsons is about as good as it gets in Delhi although and their consistency of food can vary a lot. Also, just a big note of caution, the folks are rude and moody so order at your own peril. The last time I ordered ( a couple of days back), they were 'only' 2 hours late despite being 2 kms from my home. The manager was quite nonchalant when called and casually said to send the food back when it reaches. <br/><br/>Their Chicken Roghanjosh is decent while Rista and Gushtaba are so so. The Tabak Magazine is quite alright although I can rate it as bad, very good and so so he three times I ordered (in that order). It's mostly ordering at home and for the quality of food, the pricing is decent. <br/><br/>If you want Kashmiri, certainly go for it at your risk and keep saying om when ordering cause you will need patience.

Amazing food!!!! I had it once and can never forget it...

I havent come across too many joints serving full wazwaan in Delhi. But if you love wazwaan & are craving for some good food then AHAD sons is the right place. Dont expect to sit & eat there as they dont have a facility for it, except for the 2 couches at the reception. We heard about this from a dear friend and went in to dine but No place to eat, so we decided to get it packed & eat at home. The Tabak Maaz was so tempting that we couldnt wait to enter the car even. Tabak Maaz was so good that it was finished till we reached mother dairy where our car was parked. The guy at the reception was kind enough to give us disposable spoons so we opened the Nadur Yakhhni next, was piping hot but was finished in the next 5 minutes. Gushtaba & Rishtaa survived till next day but I must tell you Gushtaba was amazing. Rishta was a little not very much relished. On the whole this is one of the best Kashmiri I have had till now in Delhi considering difference of water in Delhi & Srinagar. Surely Must Have it !!
Atul Sethi
We ordered a lot of dishes for dinner. firstly these guys dropped off our order somewhere else and cane with only snacks and no main course. It took an hour for them to return . The food we ordered was also just about average , I have eaten better Kashmiri food at chor bizarre . Tabak maaz , rista , gushtaba , haak were all just bland and with no distinct taste in them. This one sure can be avoided . I think they have lost their touch.

Value for money ..:) till now the cheapest Kashmiri food that I have had in the city ....
Zohair Foodminator
They mostly do delivery.<br/>Used to be great with decent portions. <br/>Now the Portions have gone down drastically. <br/>If you want to order for 4 people then order 5 portions.<br/>Very expensive for what you get.<br/>Food is all right i would call it close to the Kashmiri Wazwan not completely authentic taste.<br/>Because of more commercial catering they have lost the authenticity in the taste. <br/>Tabakh maas and rista were just not correct. <br/>Disappointment for me.
Amar Varma
It had been a year since I had good Kashmiri food; my friend's wife used to run a Kasmiri food kitchen from home but she relocated, leaving me with very limited options in the vicinity of my residence. I did try out Moets but they have very limited Kashmiri offerings on their menu and, frankly, they are just not value-for-money!<br/><br/>So, when I was zomato-ing last afternoon, I chanced upon Ahad Sons. Was actually quite delighted to find a Kashmiri cuisine outlet so close to where I stay. I ordered several dishes for dinner last night and I must say that Ahad Sons did not disappoint me, as far as the food goes. The Gushtaba was great; in fact everything that I ordered really rocked!!! And they didn't hurt the pocket either.<br/><br/>The only irritant was that they took too much time to deliver! But I guess that can be excused for once.<br/><br/>Keep up the good food, Ahad Sons!<br/><br/>Amar Varma

My rating is 4.2/5<br/><br/>In a nutshell:<br/><br/>A delivery only place that serves authentic & upper YUMM Kashmiri food in Delhi – it’s a pity they do not have a sit-in restaurant . <br/><br/>Short Description – in case u r in a hurry:<br/><br/>I heard about this place from our Kashmiri foodie friend Shambhavi who said this was the best & most authentic Kashmiri food in town. So we decided to take a trip to this place. We took along with us a friend who was quite good with the roads in the area – that helped. Coz Google maps does not describe the way too well.<br/><br/>As we parked our car at Mother Dairy booth in Uday Park Market & walked into the lane, we realized that the look & feel of the place was fast changing. Yes, we were in the Urban Village of Delhi, Masjid Moth. Huge , Ugly, unplanned buildings & thousands of wires between us & the sky.<br/><br/>The building in which this eatery is located is huge but nondescript – There is no shop sign board outside the building. As we entered the building, there was a long flight to stairs to the first floor – a huge neat & clean modern kitchen to the right & a small but very well maintained office to the left. An elderly gentleman was managing the orders sitting in Office & we had a good chat with him.<br/><br/>Ahad Sons came to Delhi more than 2 decades back to spread the magic off Wazwan beyond the valley. For the uninitiated, Wazwan is a multi-course meal in Kashmiri cuisine, the preparation of which is considered an art. Of its thirty-six courses, between fifteen and thirty can be preparations of meat, cooked overnight by a master chef who is called Waza. <br/><br/>Ever since then they have been into catering, cooking Kashmiri food for 3 to 5 star Hotels, selling canned food & of course the take-away model. We got to know that they are in the process of setting up a huge factory in Kashmir to manufacture canned food so that they can start selling them all across the world. <br/><br/>Canned food? Yes, u heard it right. I was also surprised to see canned Gushtaba , roganjosh & Rishta. These cans have a shelf life of 6 months!!!<br/><br/>The Office had press clippings pasted all over the wall & also letters praising the food. Photographs of the Wazas also adorned the wall. <br/><br/>Food cooked & served on the spot vs. food packed & carried back home has some difference for sure. Food at Ahad Sons was excellent but some items like the tabak maaz suffered a bit due to that time lag.<br/><br/>Detailed Description – In case u have the Time to NJOY reading:<br/><br/>We started our meal with Tabakh Maaz. It is ‘Tender ribs cooked in kashmiri condiments gravy shallow fried and served dry’. So far we used to like the tabak maaz at ‘Kashmiri food stall ‘wazwan’ in Dilli Haat & also at Chor Bizarre. Tabak Maaz at Ahadsons, as I mentioned, suffered due to the time lag. Inspite of that it was as good as the Chor Bizarre one. I cud imagine how much better it wud be if we were to eat in the spot. It was soft lamb ribs with meat layers & fat layers in between – delicious. Spicing was perfect as well. Tasty, good in texture , perfect flavors & I give it a 4.25/5.<br/><br/>For main course we ordered Haaq – A Kashmiri spinach dish. We were always a fan of the over simple no turmeric watery gravy version of haaq at Wazwan, Dilli Haat. The Haaq at Ahad Sons was very different & very good as well. It obviously had turmeric, the gravy was thicker, the saag was excellent & so were the interplay of spices. I loved this new version & give this a 4.25/5.<br/><br/>Post Haaq we had Rista. It is ‘Pounded mutton balls cooked in saffron flavoured gravy’. The gravy was good but surprisingly not great. Flavors of fennel seeds that usually characterizes this dish was also not there. It was however tasty on its own but pretty unidirectional. I give the gravy a 3.25/5.<br/><br/>The meatball was awesome. It was hand-pounded with layers of fat. That was evident in the taste, the intensity of the meat, the flavours & the dense colorless drops of juice that oozed out when I tried to cut the meatball with a spoon!!!! Awesome – A 4.75/5 for the meatball. <br/><br/>Rating for the dish averages out to 4/5.<br/><br/>The next dish in main course was Mutton Rogan Josh. It was described by Ahadsons as ‘selected mutton pieces cooked in kashmiri onion gravy with cocks comb flower water’. The Hindus of Kashmir do not use any onion or garlic in this dish, but use yogurt or curd, fennel powder and asafoetida to impart richness. For making the same curry, the Kashmiri Muslims, however, use onions and a special ingredient called mawal / “rattan jyot, which is actually dried cockscomb flower. <br/><br/>The meat was tender & very tasty. Loved the thick red gravy & kept having it till the end. Once again, the gravy lacked brilliance but was surely better than ‘good’. I wud give the gravy a 3.5/5 but the meat a 4.5/5. Overall the dish wud get 4/5.<br/><br/>The last dish we had was Gushtaba – It is hand pounded mutton cooked with spices, shaped into balls and cooked in a flavorful yogurt gravy. The mutton ball was as awesome as the rishta. It gets a straight 4.75/5. The gravy of gushtaba was excellent as well – light, very tasty & full of flavors. Loved it & wud rate it 4.25/5. Overall rating for the dish wud b 4.5/5.<br/>We also had akhrot chutney – curd based chutney with ground walnuts (akhrot). Loved the intensity of taste & the creamy dense texture. I wud rate this 4.25/5.<br/><br/>Overall rating of food at Ahad Sons averages out to 4.2/5. A must try I wud say…………………<br/><br/>U just need to figure out where to eat it, in case u do not stay in the neighbourhood. Else u might not enjoy it as well if eaten micro waved.<br/><br/>For YUMMilicious pics of food at this place & also for reviews of other eateries in Gurgaon & Delhi including streetfood, pls visit my blog:<br/>www.yummraj.com<br/><br/>U can also visit the blog's facebook page & click the 'like' button for regular updates on new reviews:<br/>http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Yummraj/257363547631763

Visited this place after it was recommended to me by a friend of mine.<br/>It had been quite a long time since I'd tried some authentic Kashmiri Food and as soon as I came to know about this outlet I pounced upon the opportunity and made a dash for this place.<br/>I had quite a hard time zeroing on the actual place and after almost 20-30 minutes of walking around the place I found it. As many have written before myself, they (Ahadsons) offer only takeaway, which was fine with me as this way I avoided paying the heavy Taxes and compulsory 10% service charges which has now become a norm with majority of the restaurants in the Delhi/ NCR region. <br/>For people wanting to visit this place I've made a routemap on Google Maps with directions. This map will lead you to a Mother Dairy Booth near the place and from here ask someone where's the Kashmiri Food outlet. No one knew about Ahad Sons but they're familiar with the team 'Kashmiri Khana'<br/>Link to Mother Dairy (near Ahadsons) http://goo.gl/maps/g0ctp <br/><br/>I ordered the following dishes<br/>1. Tabakh Maaz (2 dishes) 2pc per plate<br/>It was quite nice. They're Mutton Ribs cooked in some kind of a gravy but served dry. Different from anything else that I've had earlier.<br/>2. Ghushtaba (3 dishes) 2 pc per plate<br/>This dish was awesome. They're mutton balls(boneless) served with gravy of saffron (I think). A little spicy and tasted divine. Would love to have it again.<br/>3. Rista (3 dishes) 2 pc per plate.<br/>This dish was again out of the world. They're again mutton balls(boneless) like the ones with Ghushtaba but served with a different kind of a gravy. Tasted lovely and will definitely be having this again.<br/>4. Roghan Josh (2 dishes)<br/>This was also nice. This was mutton (with bones) served with spicy red gravy.<br/><br/>Being no expert on Kashmiri Wazwan food I would say that I simply loved the way the dishes were prepared and how they tasted. My only earlier experience has been at ChorBizzare in Old Delhi and the food at Ahadsons was definitely better. <br/>Would I be going to this place again. DEFINITELY YES!!!<br/><br/>After taking my order they took about 15 minutes to prepare the dishes. Also they don't serve any kind of chapatis or rice. Already knowing this fact, we prepared boiled rice at home. No Chapatis please.<br/>Parking is an issue but as I visited this place on a Thursday there was some kind of a market in the vicinity, which I think shouldn't be during the rest of the days of the week.<br/>Total Amount I paid was Rs.1880.<br/>I've attached a scanned copy of their latest menu card

Well, as a Kashmiri who has been eating and cooking Kashmiri food for as long as I can remember, Ahad Sons has been my greatest discovery of authentic Kashmiri cuisine in the maddenning capital city. I was hunting for some authentic kashmiri restaurants online in the afternoon today, and I found this jewel in Delhi's crown. <br/>At first I was pretty reluctant to try it, but I threw caution to the winds and set out to Uday park to find this hole in the wall place. It was quite hard to locate the place, and thanks to directions by a local I found the place. When I entered I realized they were a simple take away establishment and all the walls was covered with awards and news paper cuttings of the senior Ahad Waaza (senior Kashmiri chef is given the title of waaza). He had worked across and participated in Kashmiri food festivals of various hotels like ITC, Oberois, Taj and many more over more than 25-30 years and this place in uday park is now run by his sons.<br/>I must add that the menu on Zomato is old, ad the prices have increased, but for awesome and amaazing food like this to find in Delhi, this food is pretty cheap. He has an extensive and authentic Kashmiri food menu, covering almost all items that I can remember from vegetarian to non vegetarian. <br/>I ordered Ghushtaba and mutton dhanwali korma. It was ready pretty swiftly in 20 minutes and I must add for Rs 550/-, this stuff came real reasonable.<br/>I came home and reaheated the delicacies and when we had them, my husband smiled at me and said I love you sweetheart. This is by far the best Kashmiri food I have had from outside in a real real long time. <br/>The Ghushtaba for those who dont know what it is is a mutton ball in white gravy (made with yoghurt, fennel powder, and dry ginger powder only) in which the mutton of the mutton balls -is so fine so tender, it is pounded for 7-8 hours with hand not in mixies, and is minced real fine. <br/>The ghushtaba's I had tonight are the best I have ever had. Meat so juicy, so tender so succulent and gravy so mild so delicate with the right amount of spice. Dhaniwal Korma is mutton korma cooked in a lot of coriander or dhaniya and some turmeric, little milk fellen powder and dry ginder powder. This was my first time having dhaniwal korma since it is more of a Kashmiri Muslim dish and an integral part of the Famous Waazwan. I must say for my first time, I was not only pretty happy and satisfied with it but also fell in love with it. <br/>through this journey, this quest of discovering new tastes , exploring and experimenting with all sorts of Kashmiri food in Delhi, I just realised that (sorry if I am being racist) but it only takes a true Kashmiri to understand Kashmiri food and cook it to perfection.<br/>Ahad Sons, 2 thumbs up and you deserve a 4 on 5, only because next time I hope you have a dine in too to cater to fans of Kashmiri food like me so that we can dirty our hands and enjoy the haak batta and dumaaloo piping hot served afresh.

Real Kashmiri food to have.<br/>Only problem is, they only have "take away".<br/>Hard to find place.

Finally the search for true Kashmiri cuisine ( wazwaan ) out side Kashmir is over . Actually it's a restaurant in Kashmir, which has opened up shop in Delhi. I used the term shop, because its more like that only. It's a simple room where u place ur order and take the delivery when it's ready. Nevertheless, I have been still going for Kashmiri food to this place for the taste if their food. And after trying out many so called wazwaan restaurants I have realized tht making wazwaan dishes must be pretty tough :) .......

i wanted to try kashmiri food at ahad sons as i was told by a kashmiri friend of mine that ahadsons serve one of the most authentic kashmiri cusine. its a delivery only joint. the office looks like a booking counter of a travel agent. i guess they are more intrested in catering. anyways coming to food, i tried rista and gushtba (packed) without any roti or nan(they dont make any). on asking if they have anything with rice, i was told that we can get mutton pulao but a min. order of 5 portions. rista was watery more like rajma at a local dhabha (spicy and avg. tasting).....thegushtaba was a creamy prep.(not for health conscious) though more tasty (less spicy)........both had mince mutton balls and that i think was the highlight of the food. i can imagine the amt. of pounding and grounding involved in achieving that texture. all in all an avg. food though ill like to try it again (rogan josh and somthing else as well) but after trying cashmere and tarami in hauz khas village to compare all of them and know what real kashmiri food tastes like. till then 3 stars (might increase later).

I am a food explorer, and always on the hunt for authentic and interesting falvours. I found Ahad on one such expedition! The directions (thanks to Google Maps) got us past Kamla Nehru College, to Uday Park market, and finally the Mother Dairy near it. We then asked the Mother Dairy wala for directions, and he asked us to go down an adjacent lane which led us to a house with a tiny name plate with 'Ahad Sons' on it.<br/><br/>Despite our reluctunce, we entered a an executive office that I suppose is for their catering business and waited for our take away. We had Tabakh Maaz, Rista, Gushtaba and Steamed Rice that night! I was super excited beacuse this was the first time I was tasting Kashmiri foor outside Kashmir. However, the Tabakh Maaz was so disgusting that we couldnt eat it. It seemed to have been fried in fish oil and smelled awful, nothing like the delicasy I am so fond of. The Rista and Gushtaba were nice though, a watered down version.<br/><br/>I love Kashmiri food, but Ahad Sons failed to satisfy my tastebuds atleast on this visit.

Very good food, my friend ordered the rista & seekh kebab and it was delicious.<br/>not expensive either.
Simran Trehan Marwah
The only place that serves authentic and well made Kashmiri food...every other listed caterer is rubbish!! I love Ahad sons!!<br/>Simran Marwah<br/>GK 2

I wish the management at Ahad sons would agree to open an outlet where they could serve the brilliant food they prepare. Apparently they get enough business ( no doubts!) from home delivery and catering. <br/><br/>Eating food prepared by this outlet is a treat to the senses. From the seekh kebabs to the rista and the goshtaba; its all very tasty and rich. <br/><br/>The haak and the paneer would be enjoyed by the Vegetarians!<br/><br/>Tabak Maaz is a bit too fatty at times and stringy. Those could improve!
