I visit Goa with my family each winter. This was our find of 2020. Couldn't get enough of the fresh home cooked Goan food. We drove from cavelossim (it's at Orlim, between Cavelossim and Benalium).
Everything we ordered was amazing - for both lunch meals we had there. Both times Francis served us in the most friendly and informative way.
On the first visit we devoured the Prawns butter garlic (the best and freshest I have eaten in Goa), the red snapper fillet rawa fried, the pork sausage chilli fry, prawn curry and beef crumb fried. Each dish stood out and we finished the meal with homemade coffee ice cream which was pure bliss after so much good flavour.
On the second visit, we tried almost all the same dishes (because they were so good and we came back for more) and had the best crabs at the most reasonable rate (RS. 600 for a decent portion made in butter garlic). We again finished with different homemade ice creams.
Francis is an amazing server who serves authentic Goan cooking made from the heart, with a vibrant smile.
People looking to seriously eat good goan home kitchen food, at places like Martin's corner, I recommend this place and it's flavours far more.
Amazing food and an equally amazing host, Nelly. The food was simply mind-blowing. Just ask Nelly for her recommendations and you will love every single dish. We ate 3 successive meals at this place. This shows how much we loved every item. Viva Papa Joe's, we will be back.
Went for lunch, the place was easy to locate as it is bang on the main road. We started with delicious local wines, jack fruit and Roselle. Amazing taste , I bought a bottle each. Lunch was local rice with a dry and curry fish. All well made and simple preparations. Meal ended with heavenly caramel pudding. This is a must visit place if that side in Goa.
Gem of a place in cavelossim, an open casual restaurant with variety of plants around as well aquariums with beautiful fish. Opened by a family of fisherman who till now catch their own fresh fish and serve ( as we were told by our server) tried their pork chilly, roast tongue, beef cutlet, Lepo fry, bombil fry, butter garlic prawns. Everything was so very awesome. They even have their own homemade mango and lime pickle, plucked from their own trees and the special of the day was their ' avocado ice-cream '......its a must try. Coconut ice-cream is just average. Very friendly staff and cozy environment. Definitely should try this restaurant.

This quaint place steals your soul. Their lip smacking food is opium for your heart. I went into a trance and was drunk on the awesome food and hospitality. We had stir fried crabs, Rechardo Milk fish, and prawn Curry rice and six scoops of homemade coconut and avacado iceceam (trust me their scoops and portion sizes are large just like their heart) as I'm writing this review sitting in the living room of my home in arpora, my mouth is watering. I ate so much food... After such a long time. Their fresh lime soda is made from lemons from their gardens, ditto for their iceceams. Most of their food is grown in their gardens and the family gets the fresh catch for the days themselves. Their Rechardo masala takes an entire day to be made and their cherry wine was out of this world. Nella the owner was so sweet, warm, down to earth, and welcoming, that at the end if the meal, I was almost crying in my heart that she wasn't adopting me... A must visit place for every Goan food lover. This place serves absolutely delectable, awesome, authentic and very very tasty Goan food (take this from a Goan herself) and you're a fool if you haven't gone to this place already.
Its places like these that define authentic homemade food.. amazing experience!! We ordered pork vindaloo, chicken curry, malabari parotta and steam rice.. everything was delicious!!
Go to place for authentic Goan home style, Delicious food! We tried the pork roast, beef chops with fries, butter garlic prawns, batter coated squids, tongue roast and each dish was yumm!

A MUST TRY! One of the BEST Restraunts to eat at in Goa. The food is so tasty and yummy. It's too good for Sea food and Authentic goan food. If you come to Goa, Papa Joe's is a MUST to eat at. Great ambience and what better to ask for when at Goa the BEST FOOD with a warm touch of hospitality.

The food is amazing and delicious with a lot of plant surrounding us the atmosphere was brilliant and there were a lot of fish and they also sawed us tortoise and i would suggest you to eat the Goan Thali and pineapple and Dragon fruit shake. ☺
I visited last year and this year too. Awesome food. Little pricey. They had a Christmas buffet. Awesome veg pulao. Nice fruit custard. Pork roast and beef roast was nice. Passion fruit juice and Roselle cooler highly recommended. They have kids frocks for sale. And some plants are available for sale. Nice ambience with lot of fish tanks.
Limited options for veg folks but then I guess it's given when you are in Goa or anywhere near the sea, for that matter.
The consumer experience was well crafted - slow mellow classic music with locals also frequenting the place - that's a sure sign that the place is good.
Couldn't have local food but fugaad was nice!
Apart from that, we had fried rice, gobi Manchurian that were lovely as well. Paneer stire fry was strictly average.
Overall, will recommend this place esp. if you are looking for a calm evening with Goan food, on the cards.
Located amongst beautiful surroundings..we loved the serenity of the place. The owner Nella was very welcoming and courteous. We had a good general conversation and she guided us with our order. They serve authentic goan food, continental and chinese. Highly recommend the crumb chicken served with chips, the squid batter fry, chilly fries. While the chicken Hakka noodles was quite tasty, the Chicken fried rice was made with boiled/fat rice which didn't go down well with everyone (but I liked it). The choice of dessert is limited. They serve homemade icecream (vanilla and coffee) and though it was tasty, it was icy. The portions are quite sufficient and the service is quick.
OMG.... best home cooked Goan food prepared by the most amazing chefs. The ambience is so quaint and peaceful, yet vibrant. The music is great and service is very polite and attentive. Been there a few times and will go many many more times. Nella is an amazing host.
Please do visit this amazing place. It’s feels like home. The food here is finger licking good. This is one place I personally love going to eat everytime I go there is something different to taste. From the home made wines to the desserts. My favourite ice-cream is the coffee one😋😋
Chef Warren Joey’s Papa Joe’s is a very chilled out place with a lovely ambiance. For some reason it feels like you’re on an island in Mexico. It is a fully family run restaurant with authentic home cooked food, they even make their own wines and ice creams. Give the Rosella wine a try and believe me, with every sip you take, it feels like fireworks in your mouth and your taste buds are gonna rejoice. Don’t think twice if going to Papa Joe’s, just go for it, it’s worth the experience.
Visited Papa Joe’s in South Goa, it was an amazing experience and would never hesitate to visit over again! The atmosphere there is very cordial and the host,the lady there along with her staff are very polite and helpful with a smile on their face. The beef crump chops is a must to try and their homemade wines, ice-cream, soups, pickles is amazing and the overall food is excellent!!😍🤤
Amazing food, pretty decorations and a lovely ambience. Definitely worth the money we paid. Try their local fruit ice cream, it's to die for.
Stumbled upon this place in our way to cavelossim beach. Wonderful place to get some good Goan food. The ambience is great and the family takes great care of you. They serve wood fire cooked Goan rice and curry. Which is almost extinct. People don't cook like that anymore but Joe's have gone that extra mile to give that authentic original taste. We had rice and chicken Xacuti. Apart from curry and rice we also enjoyed the fresh fish starters. And to top it all they also have home made icecreams! They had muskmelon, watermelon, chikko flavours but my fav was Roselle. Never had that before! It's sour and made of Roselle flower. Also ask for fresh fruit juices.
