Caravela cafe, found just behind the Panjim church on 31st January road, run by Carlos and his family, is one the best places you can have breakfast and snacks if you're in Panjim. Great food, good ambience along with slow jazz music and a warm welcome makes your dining experience one to remember, so much so that, you'd want to go there again and again. The dedication and efforts put in to give you a wholesome experience. If you went there alone, they'd give you company and will make you feel like one their own. It's a must visit place in Panjim city which is best experienced on foot. One of my must visit place, if you're in Panjim.

A fun loving, informative and friendly host always indicates a good time. Our afternoon at Caravela Cafe was all about great food, homely vibes, enthusiastic owner Mr. Carlos Noronha and the most delicious range of hot and cold coffee under their brand name 'Latin Quarters'.

Let's talk about the Coffee first. A full fledged Coffe roasting and grinding machine worked continuously churning out various types of coffee according to ones taste. The entire top floor had the robust aroma of roasted coffee beans. Carlos Jr., the one behind the amazing coffee patiently explained and took us through the entire process and made sure he packed some fresh ground coffee for us to take home too. This coffee tour made us try and enjoy 3 coffees in a span on 2hrs. Mental note - Go back soon for more!

Moving on to the food, we tried one of the - All day breakfast. Soft scrambled eggs with frankfurters, baked beans, hash brown, braised tomato, sauteed mushroom toast, preservatives and Coffee. A one plate meal, have this and trust us you wouldn't want anything more. Perfectly filling and an amazing suggestion by Cyrus the one behind the delicious food at The Caravela.

Next up were these Spinach and Cheese Rissois. Make sure to have this hot, cos when it's hot it not something you can stop with just 1 serving.

Spaghetti Aglio e olii drizzled with generous amounts of garlic, chili flakes and olive oil was one bowl of comfort. We ate some and packed the rest to enjoy later. The pasta's are on the blander side as informed by Mr. Carlos, the owner. Kept this way on purpose so people can customize as required.

In the current situation everyone has become an expert in cooking at home with pizza being a popular choice. But what if we said that the Roasted Veg pizza was one of the best we've had. Nothing fancy, this thin crust perfect pizza was amazing. Not overloaded with cheese and maintaining the right crunch of the veggies. Truly delicious.

What's a meal that dosent end with some great desserts. Our search for the best 'Serradura' came to an end here. Perfectly sized and priced the serradura was light airy but luscious and creamy . Not too sweet but definitely the best. Must try.

The carrot cake was no less in competition. The spiced cake with the walnut crusted creme cheese was a dream combination.

Our meal came to an end but the conversation with the owners - the Noronha family seemed endless. We promised to visit again and continue where we left, of course over some more amazing food and coffee talks.

Went three times in 24 hours!! That's how much we liked it!! Really enjoyed the big breakfast and the coffee is wonderful - so much choice! I really want to go back and try some of the delicious cakes, they looked so amazing but I was so full after a big breakfast!

Carlos, the owner, is such a warm and friendly guy, made us feel so welcome. And I loved the background music that was playing.

Definitely visit again...

All I wanted when I woke up this rainy morning was a piping, hot ross omelet (a traditional Goan delicacy which is basically an omelet dunked in the most delicious gravy made with coconut milk and a mélange of whole roasted, fragrant spices) served with traditional Goan bread. Sadly giving up on our quest for this simple Goan meal which is traditionally served from food carts or tiny hole in the wall restaurants and seeing all of them shut, we ended up at the quaint and cosy Caravela which was going to be pit stop 2 for their amazing coffee.

Imagine our sheer delight when the owner suggested ross omelets, having no clue that we were on an almost futile ‘ross omelet’ hunt this morning! We ended up getting much more than what we expected!! A rather posh looking ‘ross omelet’ that tasted even more divine. The gravy was just unbelievably thick, creamy and flavourful! Dunk some freshly baked Goan bread in this gravy and you’re living the Goan culinary dream!! We tried their spinach and bacon rissoles which were amazing. We ended our meal with their dark, decadent and moist mud cake and their amazing single estate coffee from Coorg that is ground and roasted in-house. Just love their coffee!!

The owner Carlos and his wife Michelle are just lovely and what added to the delightful ambience was the engaging conversation. There was so much to chat about, don’t think we would’ve ever left! This is the true quintessence, soul and lifeblood of Goa. May Goa never lose it’s small world charm and the heartwarming congeniality of its people. Can’t wait to go back❤️.

HEARTY FOOD. BIG PORTIONS. INSANE COFFEE & DESSERTS. SWEETEST UNCLE IN TOW.

There's a lot to choose from in this cute place. Even under semi-lockdown for a change they had pretty much the whole of their menu items available. So I really had to focus and not drown in possibilities.

FOOD - I was in a brunchy mood so I went for the very fulfilling - "All day breakfast with cold meats" and my boyfriend had a Spaghetti Carbonara. The quantity here is generous and the flavours hit the right spots. The juices were fresh and not processed and sugary. 🎯
Nothing was too oily, not even the hash browns. I know this is basic, but most places mess up the toast. 😓 It's almost always too soft or hard, but here it was just right and super crunchy and it's these little things that count (for me anyway)
The Carbonara had copious amounts of meat in it and it's filling enough to be shared by two people. Just wish it had a toasty garlic bread slice but that's being very nitpicky.

Their baked goods and DESSERTS were too good to miss out on. I'm glad I packed them up to-go.
🙌Pro Tip: Try their custard tart. You won't find this everywhere. It's different from the usual lemon tarts

MOST IMPORTANTLY: They did NOT take their own sweet time to serve the food. Unlike a lot of popular places in Goa where you need to carry your own trail mix to not starve before they serve you. (You know who you are!) I respect any restaurant that pays attention to this aspect. 👌

AMBIANCE - Cozy, specially if you need to watch the rain go by. There's mellow jazz in the background that doesn't overpower the conversations that inevitably follow over the *kadak* coffee from here.

SERVICE - Prompt and listens up. They were following all possible precautions and seating people away from each other. Made me feel glad I picked this as the first place to dine-in since the lockdown.
The owner gentleman was really sweet and hospitable. He really made us feel at home. There was no rushing. We watched the rain pour out for a while and just made the most of it before leaving when he kindly reminded us to not forget our umbrellas.
Well worth a revisit.

DON'T MISS - Their coffee. Be as specific as you like your coffee to be. They'll deliver.

Good menu range, all day breakfast items. Loved the banana and Nutella 3-layered pancake, though expensive. However the Goan breakfast could have been better, they even forgot to serve a juice that comes with the breakfast platter. The place and seating is cramped. Decor, service doesn't match up to the expensive price on the menu.

Nice small cafe in Panjim. We were served by Arup who was kind and friendly. The food was delicious and lovely! I personally loved the lemon iced tea as it was extremely refreshing. We had the Spaghetti Carbonara and Spaghetti Alfredo and they were great. The cheesecakes weren't as good but it was enjoyable overall. Also do visit early if possible since it gets full really fast.

Visited The Caravela and indulged in their chocolate tart and apple pie—both were absolutely delightful! The flavors were rich, and the textures were perfect. The cozy ambiance added to the overall experience. A must-visit for dessert enthusiasts!

A quaint little place to have some scrumptious breakfast with your family. The food was decently seasoned. If you have a baby , they are kind enough to provide you with some privacy and set a table on the 1st floor of their restaurant.

This one is a beautiful cafe located in Panjim known for serving one of the best coffee in India. Apart from this they also serve all day breakfast and varieties of snacks and savouries from pizza, pasta, croissant, pancakes, sandwiches and much more. Their smoked chicken pizza is one of the best I've tried in Goa. Highly Recommended. I'll also recommend their chocolate croissant and nutella banana pancakes. Their pesto chicken sandwich is huge and their chicken pasta is equally good . In coffee thier latin quarter premium hot latte and their Vietnamese cold coffee is just try!! Here's what we tried 🍽️ • Smoked Chicken Pizza 320/- • Pesto Chicken Sandwich 250/- • Chocolate Croissant 100/- • Nutella Banana Pancakes 200/- • Chicken Penne Pasta 300/- • Premium hot latte 250/- • Vietnamese Cold Coffee 200/- The ambience is bright, beautiful and welcoming and the aroma of fresh coffee is just all around. A highly recommended cafe in Panjim. Do visit.

Caravela is popular for breakfast with good reason. The menu is extensive and service fast. The place is small so be prepared to wait. You get what you ordered without any bells and whistles like jam or honey or extra toast. I ordered the bacon omelette and black coffee, both of which were good. Not too expensive. Parking is a pain.

Read about charm of this place in the newspapers. Housed in the old houses in Sao Tome, it is a small quaint place offering a personal and local menu. Quality of food is good though service maybe a bit slow. But would recommend it definitely. Only drinks are allowed for take always. So you have to order something to eat for a table, understandable as the place has limited seating options and makes no sense to block tables for just drinks.

Good breakfast place around Panjim located inside a quaint street and has a homely vibe to it. The breakfast options are really good and prices quite reasonable. Especially the kheema pav is delicious and amazing the hot chocolate is also quite good and tasty. Do try this place they also have their own selection of coffee for sale

Ahhhaa! This cafe stole my heart due to its cold coffeeee😍 The ambience is so peaceful and they have amazing motivating quotes for food all over their walls with cute show pieces. It is sooo good to see that how well they have utilised the smallest place in their cafe and turned it to most efficient ones be it for table placing or design elements. Pizza and pasta both are highly recommended. One thing to mention is that they do not allow to work with laptops here like doing work from cafe which is good also to avoid cafe getting crowded. They even have washroom facilities.

Small place with amazing quality and taste. Long queues on weekends to get into this small place. Wish staff being more courteous. BTW, they don't mind losing business.... If the customer leaves due to lack of space to sit.
