If I had to make a choice between Basant Vihar and SG I would most probably prefer SG.(Yes,It's that good).
The location it is situated makes it more significant.
Also, its very grounded service and utensils makes it stand out from the hype of restaurants which focuses much on interior rather than food or customer service.
Best food ever perfect taste spcly for South Indian dishes gud behavior n well mentioned restro

Sagar Ratna is far better in comparison to Bansi vihar
Excellent place for South-Indian Dishes. If you want to have a good south dish then go for it. If want to have a good north dish then you should go somewhere else. Usually a wait here and the service is also not up to the mark as the name is. It is popular because of its old venue and service. Overall I think this restaurant is one of the best place for South-Indian Dishes.

The food here is top notch. The one dish that I always have here is their Idli Chaat. Unique and awesome taste. Mini fried idli dipped in light sweet curd with other ingredients, what's there not to like.
Another dish that I like is their Ghee Roast Pepper Garlic Masala Dosa. All the ingredients point towards an unique taste and it truly is an experience worth it.
All their other dishes are good too, and are up to the mark. I recommend it to all that like south indian dishes. They also have Indian and Chinese in their menu but as I said it's a south Indian restaurant and hence the other food are better than most but not the best when it comes to Indian and Chinese.

The delux thali had a lot of roti and too little vegetables. Fried idli was not good. Other items we treated there were nice like rasam aplam, shahi paneer.
We ordered butter dosa and rava dosa for family alongwith buttermilk to go with it. Rava dosa was good while butter dosa tasted as it tastes at other places, nothing particular, buttermilk tasted more like water mixed in spices rather than curd , and otherwise the service was good, but when we asked the waiter serving buttermilk what are ingredients of butter, he said "hum nahi jaante kya hai ismein" ( I don't know what's in it) , that we found rude , however soon another one of them came and was able to tell whats there in that. Overall not a bad experience, good for family eating, as seating space is there and offers good views of the kargil chowk.
Multi-cuisine restaurant but the South Indian food was particularly delicious. Especially recommend the idli fries which I hadn't seen anywhere else. Attentive service and food once ordered arrived pretty quickly.
