Review The Pasta Bar Veneto - Pondicherry

Loved the experience here. We had white sauce pasta which was very light and not too heavy or sticky. The pizzas crust was good and the flavours were well infused. Calamari fritters were good too. Tuna sandwich had an amazing aroma and it was yummy too. Last but not least, the best cold coffee I had in a while is here.

We visited this place for dinner. Over all experience was good. We had to wait to our table. You get only minimal to low spiced dishes here. We ordered Pasta, It was good but French fries were not crispy. It's expensive than usual. One time visit cafe.

This was definitely a 5/5 experience. Ambience, service, food everything was top notch. The food was just too good 👌👌. The chicken pasta and the lasagna were the best of the lot 💯. Will be putting up pictures of different dishes which are a must try 💯.

Lovely ambience. Loved the food. The pizza and pasta are a must try. Pizza was freshly baked and had a nice crust. Lasagna was very tasty. We loved everything on the menu. The pasta quantity was a little disappointing but we were also 6 people haha.

This was a pleasant surprise. We ordered pizza and loved how flavourful it was. We went the next day and packed a sandwich and burger which were also equally good. The ambience is okay, but I can vouch for the quality of the food made here.

The food served was absolutely a delight to the palate, i would recommend to visit this place on a weekday. The evenings are generally crowded. If you are a R&B genre fan, you would love the ambience and the music they play.

After entering the restaurant, it felt like I came into an old building. But the ambience is very nice once you settle down. The place is nice and cozy with soothing music. Hosts are polite and courteous. They will take extra care of you. Nice place to hangout.

Italian lovers must try here. Taste was so good. We ordered mushroom creamy soup & and the mushroom cheese starter was extraordinary. The pizza taste was nice, but the crust was like biscuits. But the food we ordered was extraordinary taste, highly recommended.

Chic cafe with polite staff and mind-blowing desserts! Tried their Banana Rum one and it raised the bar 10/10. Portion size is good too. Would recommend. 👍🏻

I couldn't help but congratulate the head chef at this place while leaving because he and his team have done a fabulous job in setting up this cafe. After dining at this amazing place, it was a huge standard drop for all other mainstream fast food franchises on my list. The staff members are very friendly and patient. 1. They have a very nice ambience with comfy seating arrangement and they play calming, classy, non-mainstream English songs. (Though it is not a cafe that entertains dancing, you will feel like dancing in the aisle and I guess they won't mind if you dance for a minute or two. Just make sure you aren't disrupting anyone else's good time.) 2. The best virgin colada and tropical fruit punch I have ever had. (They do have a bar and make cocktails as well, we couldn't order any tho) 3. Pizza Diavolo and Pizza Bianca get all the points. They were thin crusted and perfect, topped with fresh vegetables (could appreciate the freshness with each bite of it), loaded with the right amount of cheese. It was the healthiest pizza I have had till date. 4. This one is dedicated to their Primavera Al Pasta. Neatly textured sauce, balanced creaminess, fusili and the veggies were cooked perfectly. Order in some extra garlic bread to clean the cream off the dish. 5. Pomodoro E Bas (tomato soup) was soothing and delicious. 6. The TLC sandwich was rightly loaded with vegetables and was very filling and it was served with crunchy fries and mayo dip. I shall leave you with pictures of some of these items just to make sure you do not miss visiting this place at any cost when in Pondy. Chefs and the staff members here, take a bow♥️

We ordered fish and chips, which were tasty. We also had bbq pizza 🍕... tasty as well and that cheese pull🤤. The ambiance is really awesome with soothing music.

We went to the place based on reviews. Owner and staff were very courteous and attended all customers with equal care. Italian food I think was as per taste of foreign nationals but for my taste it was bit lacking. Price wise, I think you will easily spend 1000 or more INR per person. Parking is on nearby road only. Do try Fried mushroom and cheese balls.

The White sauce Pasta chicken dish was outstanding.For a change the cheese isn't overpowering the taste as in other places The Veal dish was also good with the taste of Red wine in the reduced sauce coming through well Thankfully they haven't indianized the taste, so it feels more authentic The Creme Brulee was outstanding

Quantity and Quality both are up to the mark. Good Service and very good food. The ambience was average. I would recommend asking them for their speciality. You will surely enjoy the food.

Beautiful experience visiting the pasta bar Veneto. We ordered french fries, pasta and Italian Pizza. All three foods were really fantastic. I will definitely recommend everyone to try and for sure will not disappoint. I will definitely visit next time during my stay in pondicherry. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Car parking is a bit congested.

This is one of the places where you will feel content after you finish your meal. Ordered a Pumpkin peanut soup and spinach ricotta agnolotti in basil flavored cheese sauce with blue cheese. Was my first time trying the pumpkin soup and it was good. Just a tad bit more peanut flavor than I would have liked. 4/5 The agnolotti was amazing. The spinach ricotta filling was fresh and it blended in perfectly well with the cheese sauce. The cheese sauce itself was silky smooth thanks to the generous drizzle of olive oil ! Thouroughly enjoyed this pasta. 5/5

This is my go-to place for chilling in Pondi. After travelling and exploring the city and outskirts, I like to go back here have my beer and yummy bar food and chill till they close.

A restaurant which literally catches your eye while you stroll along the popular streets of pondicherry. While the graffiti style naming on the face of the building geta your curiosity going,the food more than satisfies your hunger. I had ordered a classic thin crust pizza and the ever delicious cheesy lasagna. Owing to its popularity i had to wait for about 15 mins before i could be seated and the tables could have been more spaced out. A good place to try if you ever find yourself in Pondi. PS: don’t forget to practice your italian to score those style points amongst your friends

The ambience at The Past Bar Veneto is nothing short of amazing. It's located right next to a quiet street that is brimming with a variety of tourists from all across the world. The restaurant has a large glass picture window that looks onto the street, complemented by music that closely resembles the top numbers on the Billboard charts. The food itself is quite bespoke for the ambience as described above. We ordered chicken soup, French fries, Barbeque chicken pizza and chocolate brownie with ice cream. Each one of those items was delectable and mouth watering. The chicken soup (zuppa di pollo) was thick, viscous and replete with chunks of grilled chicken. The thin crust pizza was crisp with fresh vegetables, chicken and vegetables. The French fries were crisp as well, served with a two varieties of tangy sauces. The Black Currant cooler was extremely refreshing. We were served by a gentleman named Sabarish Ranjan. He took great care of us, and ensured that we were provided with everything we required over the course of our meal at this place. It's a remarkable place, and I would certainly recommend it to anyone travelling to Pondicherry.

As a solo Traveller I depended majorly on the Zomato ratings when I made my decision to visit this place! It was truly a good decision. The staff is so courteous and sweet. They understand what you want and suggest things accordingly. I don't remember the names of the dishes I called for but I've attached the pictures. It was a pleasant experience!<br/><br/>Also I'd like to add, Pooja was one of the people's serving me and she was such a sweet person. She not only was very prompt and helpful while I was dining but she also helped me by providing me a book that consists of various important information about Pondicherry. I really liked her!

The quality of food was way below par. These places run due to tourists who visit without having too much knowledge. The pizza, mac n cheese and the spaghetti we ordered were all below average. The pizza tasted mediocre and we didn't finish it. We also ordered a chocolate shake which we could not drink after one sip cause it was just sugary milk with some chocolate. Overall, a lot has to be improved.

Best place to visit near whitetown. Very close to Rock beach, too good ambience, amazing food and cocktails. Must visit at least once while at pondi

Visited this cozy awesome place in lunch time. Had a chilled beer and saucy spicy chicken pizza, spicy buffalo chicken wings and must try broccoli white sauce.

I ordered the ping sauce pasta -<br/>1. The sauce tasted stale<br/>2. The pasta had peas in it 🤮<br/>3. The sundried tomatoes were more candied than sundried<br/>4. The olives very overly bitter.<br/><br/>Would not recommend

Good place, good location but food is not upto the mark. Orders for lasagna di verdure, did not taste like lasagna at all, and a white and red sauce pasta which again did not taste Italian at all. They put out local Indian veggies like cauliflower, carrot and cucumber instead of broccoli and zucchini in pasta and lasagna with a very little amount of cheese.<br/>Did not like it at all. Though pizza tastes good, I would not suggest anyone to visit this place. Not worth going.

Service was pretty good. The spicy chicken wings were great. They were on the skin, so it added to the flavour. Any Beer would go with it. Then the baked fish lasagna was very good too. It was more liquidy and had a bit less quantity and layers. But the taste was too good.

Lovely ambience and amazing food. What I ordered were the white sauce pasta and veg burger. The quantities were pretty decent and filling. Pasta was perfectly cooked and well seasoned. The veg burger patty was crispy and nice. For desserts I tried the Apple strudel. The plate itself looked delicious and the taste was wonderful. Overall it’s a good place to come with family and friends.

Great pasta

Always a must whenever I’m in Pondicherry. Sadly this time round, the place seems a little down and out ... the pizza was alright... the staff and service still excellent.. the pricing used to be great , but now it’s slightly increased that’s quite alright but the quality has dropped 😪 used to be a place where young crowd and generally the better half hung out at but now it’s turned into more off a bar style gig .... come on guys step it up ✌🏻👌

One word: Amazing!! The ambience and food are both commendable. The pasta and chicken steak that we ordered were absolutely perfect. They have a bar with good stock of liquor to enjoy with your meal. We infact ordered our lunch from this very place the next day. That’s how amazing it was. Should absolutely give it a try if you are in the White town area.

My husband and I visited the place on a Saturday afternoon. The ambience is lovely. We tried the mushro and cheese crotini as a starter with Green Apple Mojito and Tropical Fruit Punch mocktails. The crostini was crisp and yummy. The drinks tasted fabulous!<br/>Then we ordered Penne PrimaVera Panna. It was a creamy white sauce pasta with various veggies like sun-dried tomatoes, zucchini, broccoli, mushroom. The pasta was awesome.<br/>This place is a must try when in Puducherry.

This was my third visit to Pondicherry and I went to this place for the first time. Usually you have to wait to get a place because it's always crowded. We ordered risotto di fungi that was nice and we ordered fries which they served with cucumber and carrot spread. Also we ordered pizzas and it was nice. We also ordered pesto pasta that was not at all good. We complained about that and the manager agreed to give some other item instead of that or to remove that from the bill. Ambiance and music everything was great.

We ordered ur food thru zomato , dont mind your panna cotta was an absolute disaster. Panna cotta was frozen. So please learn how to perfect it.

Went there after reading a lot of positive reviews. It is a bar cum restaurant that serves Italian dishes. <br/>Tried Lasagna de Verdure and Primavera al Penne. A bit disappointed with the Lasagna.. It was a bit undercooked and tasted very sour. But the other dish was really delicious. It had the right amount of cheese and sauce tasted excellent. <br/><br/>Overall, a good place to visit near White Town.

This place is a delight for a hardcore pasta lover. There are so many varieties to try from, you'll end up going again. I went here thrice while in pondicherry, tried different pastas and starters and none of them were disappointing. Ambience is okayish, but it can certainly be overlooked over the taste.

Loved the place! One of the best places in White town, I would say. Went here after a super tiring, hot Pondy afternoon starving and parched. Service was quick and efficient.<br/>We ordered the baked fish and the Pollo Ripielo. Both were perfect, juicy and well seasoned. Ordered a daiquiri and pina colado to wash it down and they met our expectations as well!<br/>10/10 recommended.

I visited this place because of the wide range of pastas available here. I am usually skeptical about taking pasta outside but taking anything else in this restaurant may have been an injustice to its name. So my friend and I ordered a veg arrabiata pasta and a salsa rosso con pollo e funghi(chicken pasta with mushrooms in a peri peri and cream sauce). The veg arrabiata pasta was tangy with its spicy tomato sauce, while the chicken pasta leaned on the spicier side with its lip smacking sauce. Both the pastas were delicious but I loved the sauce of the chicken pasta more. If it isn't already there, a veg pasta in the same sauce would taste amazing. The ambience is mellow with its white and red walls but the music is loud. If you love pastas, definitely try this place out.

The highlight of our trip was lunch here. We ordered french fries for the kid who was totally happy with it and left us to have a nice lunch. We had garlic bread, barbecue funghi (devoured this n ordered again), and primavera al Panna. Except for the stinky wash area, no complaints!

I loved this home style comfy place. Food menu was excellent, we had ordered meat balls and pizza, both were satisfactory. Staff was good and cooperative.

An italian evening at the french land. The flavours out here are really delicious except for the lasagne . And they have a good number of choices.

How I wanted to give this restaurant a five star. If not for the smelly untidy bathroom. I wonder why they aren’t putting an effort to clean it up. <br/>As for the food. The mushroom soup we had was very tasty. Bruschetta was our first try so we dont have anything to compare it too. The pasta was outrageously delicious but please dont leave the pasta bar without tasting the TIRAMISU😍 Our Pondy trip ended with a heavenly dessert.

This place was recommended by one of my friend. Its all italian cafe, serving pastas, risotto, pizzas. <br/>Me and my friend ordered individual serves.<br/>One veg mix sauce penne pasta. And one non veg pasta.<br/>Both looked same, same sauce, same everything. <br/>Food was not as appealing visually and also taste wise was quite average. The weird thing was peas in my pasta.. 🤭 <br/>This place is quite far compared to all other places. <br/>They could improve on quality. <br/>Overall average experience.

I have never really been a fan of Pasta, but had heard a lot about this place and decided to visit. Didn't love the pastas too much, and felt like they needed more flavour. The portion served is decent for one, but lacks some spice and flavour.<br/><br/>We also ordered a mocktail and fries. They were both really good, and since I love fries, I loved how thin and crisp theirs were.<br/><br/>The pastas are a bit expensive and for how they tasted, weren't worth the money for us. However they are served very decorated and what not, so maybe that counts for the cost.

We ordered a Primavera Al Panna penne pasta. The white sauce had a very peculiar taste. It tasted stale. Also, the Diavlo pizza wasn't that well made. Have been to this place multiple times looks like the quality has been deteriorating

The ambience was good but we had to sit in the terrace since the place was very crowded. Expect the dessert we didn't like really anything that we ordered.<br/><br/>1)Caesar's Salad<br/> : The sauce was too tangy, and there were too few croutons, so the whole salad tasted like nothing but a mix of sauce and a lot of lettuce.<br/><br/>2) Alla Bistro American Pasta <br/>: Tomato & cream sauce with corn, beans, red paprika, jalapenos, and mozzarella, tossed with pasta. The loads of mozzarella, the tomato & cream sauce along with corn and red paprika made it taste good, but the dish tasted as if pizza toppings were added to pasta.<br/><br/>3) Panna Cotta<br/> : With an exceptionally moulded custard, gilded with gelatin and a small pool of fruit jam on the top, the dessert looked heavenly. And the taste was equally good: soft, syrupy and sweet. The variety of jams provided, tasted piquant in combination with the delicacy. The fruits accompanying were fresh, and brought a tangy, sweet change in flavour. Another interesting blend were the basil leaves, which tasted incredibly good with the custard. It was an amazing dining experience with super fast service....superb ambience. The place is very lively and inviting. Let's talk about food now. I actually had very high expectations though the food tasted good still I felt it could have been better also the portion size is less.

The building looks good from outside . The food is okayish.. not so great. Prices are on the higher side . It's located near the main road and adjacent to the Zuka cafe, and subway.

I completely loved loved loved the food of this place. We ordered fish fingers and veg lasagne and both tasted so good. I can say that I had the best lasagne of my life at this place only. The ambience was pretty decent. Also, they have a really good variety of dishes which I would definitely like to try in future.

Must say, one of the better places in the MG Road area. The ambiance is perfect for a lazy Sunday brunch. Service is mostly prompt. Food on the whole is quite sumptuous, with the notable exception of their pizzas. My lady friend seemed in particular to not like the way they treat their pizzas' bases. On the whole, though, a place worth returning to.

This place makes you feel like you are in a french town. It is an old building tucked in a small lane in white town area. Around 750 mtrs from Rock beach. Interiors remind you of old European outlets. We have tried Sesame Chicken, Mozarella Ricotta Fingers for starters. Sesame Chicken was awesome in taste & Ricotta Fingers was Okay. Quantity is less in ll dishes than average serving. <br/><br/>For Main course, we tried Egg Lasagne, which was a big let down for us. It was more like an egg omelet with extra cheese. This is a very well decorated amazing cafe with some great delicacies.<br/><br/>I had:<br/>1. Lasagna De Agnello: Pasta sheets cooked with mozzarella and red sauce.<br/><br/>2. Baked fish: Oven baked layers of fish with basil, spinach, creamy herbs and mozzarella.<br/><br/>3. Bolognese de Pollo: Pasta cooked with minced chicken, carrots, tomato sauce and Parmesan.<br/><br/>4. Pizza Barbeque: With BBQ chicken, basil, onion, paprika, capers and mozzarella.<br/><br/>All of the dishes were too good.<br/><br/>The outside is well decorated with the perfect lightings after dark. The seating arrangements are perfect with pictures and facts full of the history of pasta decorating the walls.<br/><br/>All in all, the cafe was perfect and highly recommended.<br/><br/>

Hv been to this place for dinner one evening. A very great place with nice music playing in the background. The red walls and the poster made this place further attractive. The staff were courteous. The Pasta bar Veneto is one another amazing place located in the happening area of MG Road.<br/><br/>Friendly staff, epicable hospitality and great food menu.<br/><br/>For starters, we ordered Cheese garlic bread. A very flavoursome option for munchies, topped with mozzarella cheese and backed to perfection.<br/><br/>We combined it with few pegs of Glenmorange in single malts.<br/><br/>Since we were here to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary we even received a complimentary dessert from the gentleman who was attending us. Also we only wanted to stick to drinks and starters hence didn't order much. But we should definitely visit again to try their extravagant menu.

A great place for their pastas, desserts and chilli cheese toast. We tried their panna Cotta and Quattro formaggi pasta, which were great. I also liked the fruit punch here. Quite an affordable place with amazing plating and taste.

We thought of it as an amazing place, when we saw the reviews, but were disappointed. The place has a ok rooftop, but one with a great ambience even the ground floor is like an ordinary restaurant. Now coming to the food, there was a forever wait for the food, the grilled chicken and pasta had the same sauce and it wasn't really grilled chicken but fried chicken is what they served. We had to call the chef and get that changed. The chicken pizza was ok. Overall not a very great food experience.

Really tasty food and service. Loved every dish that we tried. The ambience isn't all that great, yet provides a sense of comfort. It adds to the overall experience.

I and My Brother decided to go to Pondy from Chennai. The Pasta Bar Veneto in Chennai do not serve Alcohol. But in Pondy they do. It’s my second time visiting The Pasta Bar Veneto in Pondy. I was on leave due to Thanksgiving Holidays in US. Usually the place is overflowed during the weekends. Thank god for Thanksgiving. <br/>I wanted to drink and try some food. I ordered my drink and Food are as follows:<br/>• Bastoncini di Pesce (Fish Fingers) – Good. Not too oily. <br/>• Barbeque Chicken – Good – Too Tangy. <br/>• Pizza Carne Mista – A Meaty Pizza of Chicken Mince, Lamb Pepperoni, Chicken Ham and Sausages with Red Paprika, onion and Mozzarella. Add On: Parmesan Cheese. – Served Hot. I liked the Pizza. The Add On Parmesan Cheese will be given separately to sprinkle. <br/>I had few drinks and Breezers for the night. Service is great in here. Ambiance is good. Music in the background. Overall My Experience at The Pasta Bar Veneto was really great. I love the place. Fancy place from outside, decent interiors. This place promised to serve best pastas.<br/>We ordered chicken lasagna with garlic bread and hummus with pita bread. Each dish was rich in flavours and texture. Loved the taste

The food here is Epic. Great place to start with. Were here for lunch. Courteous staff too. We ordered the pesto pasta, lasagna, and their pasta specials- pasta spinach wraps. Yummmm. Our greed for their food made us add Their pita bread and hummus too to our order. Icing on the cake 🙃 Must must visit ✌️

Food quality and ambiance is good but it will add service charges in your bill. However he did deduct service charges from my bill once I asked him GST includes all the charges. Overall it was pleasant dinning but just want to highlight service charge issue.

Good food, good portions, well presented.<br/>Music a little too loud to be able to talk comfortably, and it was turned up to be louder until brought to their notice.<br/>Nevertheless staff is attentive and pays attention to clients requests- be it about music , food , or other.

Good food, good environment. The can work on the furnitures to make it more comfortable. Overall pretty good experience. Pizza and fritata were really good.

Just Okay. Not too good not too bad. Clean the washrooms once in a while man.. Pasta is not as good as I expected it to be. Serving is slow so you better order everything in one go.

I have gone here almost 6 times ...It is one of the good places to have really Nice food and some drinks with good music ..The ambience looks dull though..But I have tried almost everything with my friends ...And except for the Lasagna...Everything is good ..Yummy ....Pastas, esp the cheese garlic bread , and chicken , cheese starters ( they have italian names for everything so I couldn't remember exactly ..Lol..), The Quattro pizza ( one of my favs). I am not a photography person. So I couldn't upload pics. ..Go and enjoy . .In weekdays ( because u would be alone or with few people )..So that u could have a good time ..And Happy hour for few drinks too 😊😊

I went to this place with my friends. They serve the best pastas in town. The vibe is so good. It’s a really great place to hangout with friends and have a great meal.

It is an average place with average food. <br/><br/>Ordered a pasta in white sauce, baked fish, two pizzas, juices (canned, fresh juices were not available). None of these dishes were good enough. Extra oregano and canned juices helped us gulp the food.

Pasta lovers should definitely come here . Brilliant ambience with good music and quick service. The food we ordered was perfect in all ways. People coming to pondicherry should come here.

Favorite dinner outlet of mine in Pondicherry. Lasagna was delicious and arabiata pasta too. Dimly lit with wide range of boozing options. Soothing music. It was a lovely way to end the day.

We were a group of 10 people and we Went to pasta bar last week on Sunday. We sat there for 3-4 hours, the staff was very polite and friendly. We ordered loads of drinks and foods. The food was amazing and the service was very quick. We danced, sang, had loads of fun but the staff didn’t complain once. I would recommend this place to everyone who’s looking for a chilled out place in Pondicherry.

It's a nice cozy place to sit drink and dine. Nice soft music in background. Snacks are really yummy. Drinks are nice and reasonable. Staff was courteous. Although we didn't try their pasta but they are quite famous for it. Overall a decent place to visit and chill with friends and family.

Last week we visited here along with my friends. Basic facility air conditioner we feel discomfort in restaurant. And then restaurant staffs were in good connection with all.<br/><br/>We ordered White sauce chicken pasta, Mud Pai, 3 pint beer Budweiser. Actually in Menu card variety of beers mentioned. But problem is most of the beers not available with your restaurant. Located in a corner plot , in MG road, this cafe with a rustic decor, is surely worth a try when you are in Pondy.<br/>This one is famous for its variety of pasta dishes.<br/>We started our lunch with cheese garlic breads followed by the mains- Baked basa fish and Pollo Ripieno(chicken).<br/>While we were expecting something like basa fillet ,the dish turned out to be cubes of fish with onions, and lots of cheese above a layer of mashed potatoes and garlic breads.<br/>The mashed potato was really good, smooth and creamy,but the fish quantity was too less to be honest. Overall the dish tasted okay.<br/>The Chicken breasts were stuffed with minced chicken and paired with a thick semi spicy brown sauce, boiled veggies and garlic breads.<br/>The chicken stuffing was tasty and really enjoyed the dish.<br/><br/>Around 1000-1100 for 2 persons without alcohol.

The coustmer service is very bad . They won't serve ppl properly. 10 .30 pm we ordered food but they are like we are closed but they took order from next table because they are regular coustmers
