The best seafood you'll find in Pondicherry. We ordered lobster in butter garlic sauce, grilled Red Snapper, squids and crab balls. Every single dish was outstanding. And so reasonable ...our total bill was under 2k!!!! Special mention crab lollipops which were fried yet not oily, the crust was super thin and crispy with generous crab filling. I'd highly recommend having a meal at De Bluefin because you don't want to miss this heavenly food experience.

At first I thought it was going to be a very big place. I was expecting the price to be very expensive, but it was pocket friendly. We even get to select our own seafood item before they cook. It was a nice experience experience for a budget friendly restaurant. Note : don’t expect Five Star experience

Two words! TOP NOTCH! Head over to this restaurant if you're curious to see what crab and lobster meat tastes like. Live crab and live lobster is highly recommended. Singapore style flavour for crab and coastal spices flavour for the lobster is the best.

We tried crab chettinad , pulka and ghee roti , the crab masala was very tasty. A must try item! But the bread was not tasty , and the quantity of bread was very poor. In the menu card 1 pulka is for 30 rs . And they provide 2 pieces. But the reality is a pulka is half the size of roti. In my opinion the crab chettinad was awesome and in the case of bread , the taste and quantity was very poor. And the ambience was also nice.

*Tasted Crab for the first time in my life!!* Went to have food here 2times in the same day! Service and atmosphere is good! But the food is delicious!!!😋 Had coastal sea food platter for lunch..🔥 Sufficient for 2 but was little expensive.. Decided to have dinner here to try the crab for the first time in my life. ✨ But in dinner we had chettinad crab... And I must say it was the best dish I ate in pondicherry!! Myself and my friend together looked for a good seafood restaurant and we ended up visiting De Bluefin today. The restaurant had a Very good Ambience. Greeted well and the staff showed good hospitality. We loved the food there!!! The cost of food is very nominal and a perfect place for a seafood lover. Fish Polichadhu - Taste superb and the fish was soo fresh and good in taste. Coastal prawn - Spicy prawn fry and the masala was very good. Squid Pepper fry - Loved so much. Prawn Briyani - Really loved the flavour and the prawns were cooked in proper consistency. Along with these we tried dragon fish and lobster bites, which didn't disappoint us. Those are also good in taste. On the whole we enjoyed the whole meal. Would Really recommend if you want to have some good sea food servings. We had Tried many around the city and this is one among the best. We had crossed this road many times, but we hadn't noticed this restaurant. We found it through online digging. One of the highlights of my meal at this seafood restaurant was the crab lollipops and lobster dishes. The crab was succulent and flavorful, with a delicate texture that melted in my mouth. It was served with a delicious butter sauce that complemented the crab perfectly. The lobster was equally impressive, cooked to perfection with a firm yet tender texture. It was served with a side of garlic butter that added an additional layer of flavor to the dish. I highly recommend trying the crab and lobster dishes at this restaurant, as they are some of the best I have ever had. On demand note ...I would like to mention that restaurant should provide range of Crabs and lobsters...also prawns...coz we had some quantity issue in that...rest everything was fine..!

I must say that the food served here is delicious and worth the price you pay for. Service from the staff was good and they were friendly. Even recommended some items from the menu that suited us well. Awesome place to enjoy seafood with friends and family, kid friendly too. Highly recommend that you pay these guys a visit!

We were looking for good places to have seafood when we came across this place... The high rating also enthused us to try out the food at this place... It's easy to locate...<br/><br/>Coming to the ambience, it's okayish... We ordered Crab Lollipop, Butter Garlic Prawns, Fried Calamari, Mahi mahi with pesto sauce, fish in butter garlic sauce and Prawn Biryani(forced to)... The service was really slow... You had to literally wait for 20-30mins for anything to be served...even the mocktails took 20+mins to be served... Coming to the food, the only item which was upto the mark was the calamari and crab lollipop... I would recommend these items to everyone who visits this place... Prawns in butter garlic had a pungent taste which we didn't like... The fish items really disappointed us with the portion size as well as taste... Mahi mahi fish with pesto was supposed to be the dish of the day but anyone who has had this item earlier would surely be devastated by the sheer taste of this attempt... The pesto sauce was too much for the quantity of fish used... The fish was overcooked which again was disappointing... We were forced to order prawn biryani simply because the main course portion was way too small... You can check the pics I have attached... Honestly won't recommend this place to anyone...<br/><br/>Would suggest the management to kindly look at the portion size of the main courses... They are simply way too little...

I am on my way back to Chennai and in a hurry just tasted chicken biryani here but I will definitely taste sea food next time when I visit pondy. Ambience is awesome. One of the best place to taste sea food which I can say by the dishes I have seen during my stay even though I didn't tasted.

I strongly suggest this place to ppl who love sea food to the core. Pesto sauce with fish 🐟 made my day. We ordered the cheesy chicken, fish finger and it ended up in repeating the same thrice...... crab lollipop was perfect.... chicken sweet corn soup was good !!!!!!!

The soup was like sugar water ,and when we asked to change the chef added soya and pepper to fix it . Again he sends it back . Rather he should have put the sugar to make it sweet . What a very bad experience 😭😭

Excellent seafood... The prawn masala with curry leaf dust was superb... The catch was very fresh and the balance of spices was really good... This restaurant is the go to restaurant if you crave for sea food. You can select your own pomfret, crab from the day’s fresh catch and also they have live lobsters to choose from. We chose our pomfret, ordered a sea food platter, squid masala with naan and prawns fried rice. The pomfret was well marinated and cooked and tasted delicious. The lobster tail in the sea food platter was delicious and squid masala was a spicy dish. Prawns fried rice had egg also in it. Overall a very good choice for sea food lovers. Lobster is their speciality and worth trying. Staff is courteous and welcoming. A must visit sea food restaurant in the centre of Pondicherry.

We were damn hungry and was searching for a good seafood restaurant. Luckily we came across this through our Zomato search and ended up a good satisfying lunch. Though we didn't found any private area for lunch. It was quite open and common. Not even any Live music were played. Zomato needs to modify the information provided.<br/>Anyway it was full and we got our table after a wait of 15minutes. Service was delayed but that's ok,can understand the pressure.<br/>We started with ▪️ Seafood noodles. Average tasted and quantity was okay.<br/>▪️ Seafood fried rice. Which was also average in taste.<br/>▪️ Chicken cheese stuffed. A continental preparation which was just awesome in taste. Delicious!!!<br/>▪️ Naan. It was alright. This is probably the best seafood restaurant in Pondy and maybe the only serving live ones. When we went though only lobsters were alive. The staff members are poor at conversation expect a few, including the one waiting our table. He was polite and offered us a good deal - a giant lobster (over a kilogram of flesh) but a frozen one for slightly higher price than a live lobster weighing much less. It was so large our waiter suggested it prepared in two ways. We chose ‘grilled with lemon-garlic dipping’ and lobster Thermidor which I won’t describe here but highly recommend.

I visited this place solely because of the reviews saying its the best seafood you can eat in Pondicherry. This place is quite hyped but the food is decent. This place really needs to work on its service. We had come the previous day and it was full with 30 mins waiting...so I reserved a table for the next day. That day as well I was kept waiting despite a reservation. When I gave the order it took more than 50 mins for a simple seafood platter and red snapper with almond sauce. The service is so bad that we had to beg the servers to come to our table which was at the corner of the restaurant for water or even to give us plates. The parcel we took included a tava fried pomfret which was the fresh catch of the day and crab Singapore which I wouldn't recommend anyone else to take. The fish chettinad curry was very tasty. The food was good and the seafood fresh but they really need to work on their service.<br/>

The place for all seafood lovers. Its a budget restaurant that serves awesome food. We went here twice during our 3 day visit. The prawn curry deserves a special mention. Highly recommended.

Good food but not very prompt response. We went late at around 2:30pm when the restaurant was not bustling. I felt the reviews are a bit overrated. We ordered fish and rice the basic staple food so to say. The rating on Zomato was above 4 so may be we had a high expectation!

I went there with my husband as i heard this is one of the best seafood restaurant in pondy. We ordered Crab masala, chicken lababdar and jeera rice which was sufficient for us. The crab masala was too delicious.

When in pondicherry how could I not be eating seafood so searched and came here for dinner early around 7:30 so took our time got through menu and ordered grilled prawns with curry leaves but to my surprise this was very interesting dish as it was grilled with some special spices and crushed curry leaves powder that gave it a very nice yet subtle taste. Then for maincourse ordered seafood platter that had mud lobster deep fried calamari rings,fish cutlet, prawns and grilled fish with sauce . Since rice was given as sides so ordered malabar prawn curry and I liked the use of raw mango in the well prepared dish. I definitely recommend this place .For food only I would have given 5 star , but service can be improved a little.

I liked the food thoroughly. Live seafood counter is worth trying. I tried king fish with BB sauce and taste was top notch. Tried prawn chicken n fish biryani onion kulcha n paneer butter masala. I definitely recommend this place.

I came to this restaurant with a lofty expectations, hoping I'd get good seafood to satisfy my palate before I would be able to go home again. They display their catch of the day at the entrance of the dining area, which is visually enticing but the smell of the fish circulates throughout the place and is a bit bothersome, but you get used to it after a while.<br/>We ordered Seafood Aglio Olio Spaghetti, Chicken Biryani, Jeera Rice, Paneer Butter Masala, Calamari Fritters and Tandoori Naan. The Jeera Rice and Paneer were decent, the naan arrived hot and crisp, the Biryani was average and could do with less of oil/ghee. The Spaghetti had generous portions of fish in it, but was bland and I forced myself to eat the dish. The Calamari Fritters were unique. Yes, it was nice and crisp but the choice of seasoning was intriguing.<br/>The restaurant had few visitors on that summer day yet the service was slow.<br/>

They have a black board which announces their live catch for the day. On the day we had our lunch, it had Fish for Rs. 2 per gram, Lobster for Rs. 3 per gram, Mud Lobster for Rs 2 per gram and Crab for Rs. 25 per gram. The fish had the options of Seabass and Red Snapper.<br/><br/>We finally decided on Seabass pan seared in Coastal Spices. It was extremely ordinary. We were disappointed. Even before the meal was finished we were contemplating on which restaurant to visit next.<br/><br/>Another con of this place is it does not embrace the Pondicherry culture at all, it has a very run of the mill restaurant vibe to it, which personally was a letdown for me.<br/><br/>If I could go back in time, I would have save 500 bucks. I went here on 22nd March 2019 for lunch.<br/>We had Crab Curry(Indian), Malabar Fish Curry along with Rice.<br/><br/>One word - Awesome for both the items. We like fish and crabs and hence it was delicious when the catch was fresh and well cooked. Malabar was coconutty in taste and Crab was masaledaar.

Travelling all the way from Chennai to Pondicherry, we couldn’t resist on our hungry stomach and we bumped in to this place called De Bluefin seafood restaurant for a nice lunch. This is one neat and clean place in Pondicherry. You can find so many varieties of see food.<br/><br/>For starter we had Dragon chicken, Fish finger, pan fried lobster and fried nethili fish. Starters were absolutely amazing specially the Dragon chicken, it tasted good beyond our expectation.<br/><br/>For main course we had Pwawn biryani, Chicken lababdar, Chilli prawn fry and roti. The prawn biryani was really aeromatic and flavourful. The chilli prawn fry was really good as well.<br/><br/>For dessert we tried sizzling brownie and home made tiramisu, which again tasted really good.<br/><br/>The staff is friendly and courteous. I’m not a great lover of fish food but this place is excellent when it comes to fresh sea food, staff is very polite & helps you in deciding what to eat if confused. The Crab lollipops are to die for, the Butter Garlic prawns excellent had twice, sea food aglio olio & pan seared fish with lemon which was a little to dry but good. I do not have any pictures but trust me I eat fish only at home but this place was Great......

On reaching Pondy, we were looking for a lunch place near our stay. We stumbled upon De Bluefinn and were tempted to have seafood. On entering, it looks like a normal restaurant with blue and white aesthetically slashed all over it’s interiors with sailor/ship mnemonics. The restaurant was almost empty on Friday afternoon.<br/><br/>On browsing the menu, we realised it was concise but with sufficient options. We were particularly intrigued with their Make-Your-Own-Seafood kind-of option. Here, you take a look at the fresh catch there and choose your seafood, the cooking method, marination sauce as well as side dish.<br/><br/>Already quite hungry and eager to eat, we went for a Pomfret in butter garlic sauce with sauteed vegetables on the side. Apart from that, we ordered a Chicken Pepper Masala and rotis for main course.<br/><br/>I have rarely had fishes with scales in them but this Pomfret was quite food. The fish was nicely cooked and the sauce blended well with it. Even the sauteed vegetables were a good complement to it. The Chicken Pepper Masala and rotis were okay. <br/><br/>In all the meal was good and the highlight was the fish. The staff is friendly and prompt. This is a good place to have fresh seafood and a heavy lunch.

My company was a little bored of the French food and baked goods I subjected them to for 3 days and wanted to have South Indian food for a change. I found this place on zomato and we decided to try it out.<br/>We walked in the heritage town admiring the beautiful structures before we reached this small cosy restaurant with a bright blue board.<br/>It is a small place and one can see the freezer with fresh fish placed right near the entrance. They have this option where we can choose our fish, our sauce and they prepare it accordingly.<br/>We selected crabs and requested for a chettinad masala prep. The crabs were fresh and meaty and the masala was perfect. We thoroughly enjoyed it. This was served with basmati rice.<br/>We also tried their chicken 65 which was delicious and well cooked. Along with that we tried the pepper masala fry squids, we didn’t like this too much. Maybe because it was too peppery and we aren’t used to the taste, nevertheless the calamari was cooked well.<br/>We had a hearty meal and left the place with filled tummies and bright smiles.

Not cool. Food was having hair and not just one. Unfriendly treatment from staff after showing it. This could have been handled in better way. Rude treatment will only take customers away.

Worst experience! The prawns biryani was actually "hair biryani". We were getting hair in the food and when reported it, they served other plate without prawns. When complained about not serving prawns, they said that you have eaten that already. Pathetic. They forced us to get out when we got hair second time in the food.

You should visit the place if you are in Pondycherry. Best seafood restaurant in Pondycherry. Must try tandoori seafood platter, crab fry and prawns chilly. Great service and amazing food quality and quantity. You can customize your food preparation too. Worth visiting the place again.

In my case I had to ask for the menu 5 times, ask for a glass of drinking water thrice and after they cleaned my table that contained the leftovers of previous guests after 25 mins, I still thought to go ahead and give them a chance on food-taste. I ordered three items from their menu, and they kept me waiting for another 25 minutes after serving the first item. Never coming back here!<br/>

I went to have my supper.......the place was good.....I ordered 1.seafood chowder soup.....it was creamy and thick good, but I hate the potatoes in that....3.8/5<br/>2.tawa grilled prawn dusted with Curry leaves....I thought that the taste would be like chettinad....but it was like continental....the prawns were cooked perfectly.....<br/>And the behavior of the staff was very good.....

Best place to try fresh sea food in Pondichery, u can select your fish from the counter, ur sauce and method of cooking 👍🏼 for the team. <br/><br/>We order white pomfret in oriental sauce, in return cooked with perfection👌 the marinade was mild yet packed with flavour kudos to the chef.<br/><br/>Ambience and service was also good. Definitely recommend place to have sea food without damaging ur pockets 😜

I went to this place 2 days back while I was just browsing through places for good sea food. The menu looked amazing and so did the food. The taste was 10/10 and the service was good too, they were ready to customize the food the way you want.<br/>And after all this, the real surprise was the price, the place is really affordable.. I mean who gets a prawns and fish dish below rs250.<br/>Overall it's a great place, am sure I'll go back here when in Pondicherry.

Pretty nice place. The service was very good. The ambience was great.<br/>The food was tasty. We tried the Seafood Platter and Crab Lollipop. The platter consisted of Calamari, prawns, lobsters and fries. The Calamari and Prawns were good but didn't like their Lobsters. The Crab Lollipops were delicious though.<br/>Overall a decent experience. Recommended.

I dont know where to start from ! 3 days on pondicherry and i made sure i had lunch here every single day ! Seafood at its best and the price was a plus ! I had fish and chips every day of being there ! There is a soup 'Seafood choudar' which is fantastic, and a must-have. The starters are good except the dragon chicken. Unfortunately, the lobster isn't available all week.

Had one of the best Grilled Pomfret in coastal spice from the blackboard fresh catch menu. Also notable was the delicious spicy Chicken Chettinad. Lovely service as well. Must visit for tourists, do try their blackboard menu.

Highly disappointed..initially we gave order for chicken manchow soup.. They took half an hour to serve that..then my friend found a hair from the soup and we returned it..In starter we have ordered A sea food platter and chilly paneer..They took half an hour and served only chilly paneer..they said for platter they need more time..Chilly paneer taste was pathetic with no salt in That..We were so disappointed with the restaurant that we waited for almost 45 mins and didn't even got the starters..forget about main course.. And the quality and taste of food was pathetic.. So we left the restaurant without having our food..

One of my best seafood experiences actually. All the dishes that we ordered were spot on in terms of taste and prices are also reasonable. Really a place to be tried out must by all seafood lovers.

The restaurant had a great ambience (welcoming staff, especially Mr Durai). Had Meen Pollichathu which was a perfect blend of south-Indian spices and was cooked to perfection. Must visit the place for savoury sea food delicacies.

Awesome seafood and great hospitality makes this place a must visit when you are in Pondichery.<br/><br/>We tried fish and chips,crab lolipop and tandori pomfret.All dish were very fresh,well cooked and crispy.The dishes were not monotonus and had a nice variation of taste.The mayos and salads plays nice with the fishes.The decorations deserves a mention as you can see in my pics.<br/><br/>While cleaning the plates,the waiter offered to clean our spoon which we used to feed babyfood to our 9 month old baby. That was a really nice jesture.<br/><br/>Keep it up guys.

I was looking for a best sea food restaurant in pondi and I bumped into De Blufin first along with other names. But I chose to visit De Bluefin and it was a good choice. Not expensive, delicious sea food and a curtious staff. What else!! And I would like to mention Mr. Dorai who served us. He was curtious and friendly. I chose Indian style sea food dishes and I suggest De Blufin for an Indian style sea food for sure.

I visited this awesome place for the first time with my group of friends basically from bhubaneswar but staying in different places.<br/>Every food item we ordered was bang on. We ordered crab lollypop, dragon prawn, prawn pepper fry, squid pepper fry, tandoori pomfret, fish and chips. We repeated the orders too as the sea food served by the restaurant people was very fresh and equally yummy. Service was super fast. The staff was very attentive and was responding ASAP.<br/>Being die hard sea food lovers, we loved the food here and I would suggest every person who wants to have awesome sea food while u visit pondicherry.. This place is a must.<br/>We have tried out only starters so Couldn't comment on the main course.<br/>Good job guys. Please maintain the food quality n the taste. De Bluefin is a good place for sea food lovers. I had prawn chettinadu with rice. The curry was delicious! Prawns were well cooked and had the perfect mix of all the ingredients. Their staff were courteous and served well too. I would definitely recommend this place 😊

A must visit place for sea food lovers. Tried squid fry and fish curry. The food quality and taste is really good. Ambience is good and the staff is polite too. Overall a lovely experience.

We tried this place for a weekend dinner. I love sea food hence we opted this. Thisplace didnt fail to impress me. We ordered a sea food platter with included prawn fry, squid curry,cheesy lobster, fish fry and crab lollipops. Everything was worthy to taste and mr.durai, who served us, was so polite and friendly. He even helped us choose the best dish there. It is a must try place for me in pondicherry.

We tried crab lollipop , grilled seer fish and seafood fried rice. All were excellent. Crab lollipop stood out. Ambience could do some more uplifting. Overall good.

My first dinner in Pondicherry and oh! What do I say. We randomly decided to visit this restaurant as we wanted sea food and google told us this place is nearest to our current location. Though a small set up, its not small by any means in terms of food taste, quality and service. A must must try if you are in Pondicherry. We ordered Grilled King Fish, Grilled Pomphret and crumb fried tiger prawns and all the food was lip smackingly delicious. The staff is quite friendly and will help you pick what to eat. And yes, it is pretty reasonable for the kind of food they serve. I would be willing to pay more for the food. We are happy customers who would come back if we are in Pondi again..Cheers

If you want to taste the best sea food in Pondy, then De Bluefin is the one to go.. Awesome food.. I was bit scared at the beginning because I haven't tasted lobster earlier, but the guy who attended my table was very friendly and he advised me to try Lobster Termidor.. Guys believe me that was one awesome dish.. The Lobster was very fresh.. Then we ordered Grilled Fish with veracruz which tasted ok and was having light raw smell but my wife really loved it.. Then we ordered Seafood Schezwan Fried Rice which I would say that this is the best fried rice I have ever tasted.. The fish and prawns were very fresh and the quantity is sufficient for 2..

Not everyone knows this place.<br/>Right on the Aurobindo Street.<br/>But very very very tasty seafood.<br/>Whether it's their netelli fry or curry leaves dusted prawns, dragon prawns, fish chilly and lip smacking prawn and fish biryani.<br/>It was so satisfying.<br/>I really would wanna go back and eat here again.<br/>Very fresh stack of sea food and heartwarming service.<br/>Absolutely loved this place.

A new place in Pondicherry for those who like seafood.!<br/>Ambience is good with some interesting interior decor. But, the inner corner smells of raw fish which is kinda unpleasant(So guys avoid the innermost two tables).<br/>Friendly staff. But it’ll take some time for your food to get ready.!<br/>Had a decent start with cream of mushroom soup.<br/>Tawa Grilled Prawn was delicious.<br/>But the best part was fish and chips-crispy and delicious.!<br/>Stuffed cheese chicken was equally delicious for main course..!<br/>They had only brownie for dessert.<br/>Overall-Recommended.!<br/>Would go with Three and a Half.!
