It's located in hotel golden pleateu. Having a nice ambience and amazing food, it's a perfect place to visit with friends and family. They specialize in goan good. So if you're a goan food lover, this place should be in your bucket list. They have really nice drinks. We had tried their watermelon cooler and blue lagoon mocktail.

Tereyaki vegetables- Exotic veggies tossed in sesame chilli sauce. Recommended for health concious folks.
Butter garlic naan- Very filling. Perfect for 2 people.
Chicken Cafreal biryani- Very rare dish and highly recommended dish.
Gulab jamun- Was served streaming hot along with suugar syrup. Again highly recommended.
Looking for a decent family fine dine place then look no further. Basil leaf, located in hotel golden plateau has an unique experience to share with its guests. The place is really well designed. Food was really nice. For starters we tried their chicken dumplings. They were really tasty and well stuffed. For mains we tried their butter chicken and their signature cafreal biryani. Their butter chicken was really thick and creamy and paired really nicely with butter garlic naan. Cafreal biryani was something unique. We ended things with a plate of nice hot Gulab Jamun. Overall a really nice experience
A wonderful restaurant in a convenient location in Porvorim, The Basil Leaf serves up delectable Indian, Goan and Oriental Food in an elegant family-friendly setting. I sampled one starter from each of the cuisine offerings - Steamed Dumplings (Oriental), Batter Fried Calamari (Goan) and Tangdi Kebab (Indian). The steamed dumplings were okay, they could have been presented better. The Calamari was wonderfully light and crispy... generous portion, too. I really enjoyed the succulent Tangdi kebab and therefore opted for an Indian main course too.I'd highly recommend the Murgh Musallam... it is a lavish treat for chicken lovers, Paired with butter-garlic naan, you can't go wrong! Mocktails definitely need improvement. Will visit again to try out more of the Oriental offerings as many of the items on the menu looked really tempting.
Must visit place for amazing food. Had a great time and enjoyed every bit of the meal.
Easy to find location, decent parking.
Lovely decor, simple yet elegant.
Had heard a lot about the fish thali here, so tried it.. very good portions, curry was exquisite, the kingfish could have been better, the sweetdish:gulabjamun was heavenly, I would have preferred to have had solkadi as part of thali.
But overall good place, always attracts a decent crowd, and is value for money.
The lime soda is pretty good! Do visit! I hear the Chinese is good too.
A truly indulging dining experience at "The Basil Leaf", situated in Hotel Golden Plateau, right on the Porvorim highway, for all the food lovers. It is a great dining restaurant to visit with friends and family and also offers home delivery through zomato and swiggy. Beautifully garnished dishes bursting with mouthwatering flavours were all set to entice tastebuds. They have a rich multi-cuisine menu with some really great preparations. The vibrant ambience with light, ear soothing music, alluring counter along with cordial staff provides perfect dining experience.
From the wide variety of scrumptious menu that The Basil Leaf has to offer, the dishes which we were fortunate enough to stumble upon are a must try. We had a great dining experience at The Basil Leaf, a cuisine prepared and curated by Chef Ashok, the head chef there.

100% smile guaranteed.
This is recently opened restaurant in porvorim. Ambiance is excellent.
We ordered
- Malaysian chicken: It was good. Chicken was cooked well. It came with fried crispy noodles.
- Pan fried chilly fish: Must try. It's spicy and flavours are on point.
- Chicken biryani: Recommended. It was good.
- Chicken patiala: This gravy came with chicken kheema wrapped in omelette. It was unique and we loved it. It's bit sweet though.
Good service. Prices are reasonable. Most of the items prices are in range of 250-350 bucks. We would definitely recommend this place.
If you are in porvorim and looking for a good food place than look no further then basil leaf.
Location : Take the first left after you cross Bharat petroleum, porvorim, goa. You will see golden plateau board on the left turn.
Alcohol is not served yet at this restaurant but you can carry your own booze here, this way you save on the vat that would have been added to your bill.
Perfect for a small get together with upto 50 people occupancy, but have limited parking space. They have this huge screen where one can enjoy sports. Good ambience and service.
Dishes I tried here are as follows:
Starters : garlic pepper prawns, fish Pheonix(There is a similar dish in chicken which has the same sauce. The dish is called as Malaysian chicken. Try that if you are not a fan of fish), Bangkok prawns, chicken dumpling(this takes a while to prepare so I would recommend to order this at the start only) and chicken lollypop.
Main coarse : rara mutton, butter chicken(if you like sweet butter chicken then you may try this one), chicken biryani and cafreal chicken biryani(has a goan touch to it but not as great as the normal biryani). All the gravy dishes go well with butter rotis.
Dessert : gulab jamun(not that great)
Must try :
Starters : fish pheonix , garlic pepper prawns
Main coarse : rara mutton and Chicken Biryani
Very nice place with variety of dishes. One might not find the place easily as it is a bit inside from the highway. The food is good & rates are reasonable. I had a pineapple mocktail & it was really amazing. The service is good and fast but they do not serve alcohol so the 4 stars.
Thought of visiting a new place and definitely basil leaf didn't disappoint. The service was very good and the ambiance is just like any other good restaurant. We had only veg food here and every thing we ordered was tasty. 5/5
An excellent restaurant to visit for a relaxed meal, I happened to see their kitchen too, clean and very systematic.
They have am excellent menu, must try the chicken biryani, its class. Their kebabs are also yummy. Not sure if they serve Alcohol as yet.
Nice ambience and seating. The best part is that they have parking right inside the hotel.
Fast service by friendly staff.
We tried the Bangkok Prawns, Malaysian Chicken, Pan-Fried Fish (Modso) and Chicken Chilli Noodles. Food was good. Skip the (very visible) chillies incase you are sensitive to spicy food.
One amazing place with thoughtfully chosen menu options! You don't get to see too many choices in the menu here, but items that are there are definitely worth having. And coming to people, they are lovely! They suggest you right items.
Stuffed mushrooms look different here than other places. Bankok chicken is very good. I have already been here twice, will definitely go many more times!!
Amazing Indian food, simple elegant ambiance and wonderful service. Must try the Murgh Musallam. Will definitely return to try more dishes soon.
Must visit place for amazing food. Had a great time and enjoyed every bit of the meal, specially thai curry and Darsaan for desert. Lovely ambience and good service
Had a lovely fellowship on July 25 the with 26 old college friends...we selected full oriental food for dinner...Mr Sovin the restaurant manager helped us decide on menu...snacks were good the prawns are big size and generous portions....as they have no bar licence we could bring our own bottles of wine etc...go for oriental
