Malaka Spice is one of those places where the food is just disturbingly delicious. It moves you to such a degree that you are left wondering if anything you eat in the future will ever taste this good again.

I have visited on several occasions and now, am confined to ordering for delivery. The food has always, consistently, been excellent. Two of my favourite appetisers here are the Top Hats and the Chicken Murtabak. Every bite of a "top hat" is a shock to the senses, in terms of texture and flavour. Never been a fan of sprouts but in this, it definitely works. The chicken murtabak is just crazy happy food - can't go wrong with fried pockets of minced meat. So good.

Must also recommend the Chicken Kari Kapitan - a thick, dreamy coconut-y gravy with bites of boneless chicken. Definitely order the roti jhala (4 a plate) to go with it. The roti jhala is magnificent, aesthetically (the lace-like structure is lovely), and also so pleasing to the palate. It's unarguably the perfect thing to sop up the decadent kari kapitan - a legit party in your mouth!

If you are a seafood fan, this place is a must visit. I loved the butter garlic prawns, very juicy and sumptous treat for your taste buds! Mutton chops is a must have here if you like mutton dishes. Burmese khao suey was good too. To sum up my meal, i ordered a MS special brownie with ice cream.
Overall, a 5/5 dinind experience in terma of ambience, taste and service. Would visit again soon 👍🏼😁

The ambience here is just right. I'm not a sushi fan, but thought I'd give it a try this time, and I'm glad I did. Absolutely loved it! The butter garlic prawns and main course spread that we ordered were amazing. Even the dips on the side were worth relishing! Highly recommended!

Malaka is an excellent place for anyone looking out for a South East Asian Cuisine experience. The food and its flavours taste great with just the right with the blend of spices, flavours and balance. The food feels fresh and hot and just the presentation works as an appetizer. The portions are decent, service excellent and its priced appropriately. You won't feel let down by the food, ambience or the bill.
Do try it once...highly recommend this place.

Have been to Malaka umpteen times n have reviewed it too,but this time decided to try their lunch buffet priced at rs699...yes 699!!! Was sceptical for sure, about the dishes that will be served but malaka never ceases to surprise.it had their regular dishes, the top hats, the red and the green curries, the starters, stir fries, everything and the desserts too.and did I forget to mention unlimited alcohol(rum, vodkas n drought :😍😍. All in all worth every penny.no wonder it was almost packed on a weekday. It’s a steal. A million times better than the other buffets priced above 1k. Malaka rocks

We went for buffet at this place. The vegetarian buffet had good options. Each and every dish that was served on our plate, tasted heavenly!
For starters There were crispy chilli tofu, pumpkin chips (must try and the best), spring rolls (the flavors were good) and pumpkin salad with peanuts (a fresh taste)
For main course, we had sambhal (the veggies tasted fresh and had an amazing combination with the Roti), Rice, Veg curry, Thai Noodles. There roti was also crispy and soft at the same time.
We ended our buffet with A litchi dessert (was too sweet and I don’t have a sweet tooth) and Brownie with ice cream (this was like a cherry on top for our buffet).

What I didn’t like was that the service was slow and the staff wasn’t taking our orders promptly, we had to continuously look for then and ask for the dishes.
Overall the food experience was amazing! I was flabbergasted with their vegetarian options and taste. A must visit place.

This place never fails to impress. Year over year consistent, excellent tatse, same awesome service, reasonable price for the offering. It is the only restaurant in Pune that I have no hesitation in rating 5 stars. Ambience is awesome. They have valet for the ongoing parking issue for all Baner joints by the way so don't change your plan to visit here just for that. There are several oriental cuisine choices in Pune now but I can say they have a long way to go if they want to beat Malaka Spice consistently year over year. Keep it up guys..

The Hallmark of any great organization is that it will continuously strive to improve, innovate, take impartial customer feedback, never try to manipulate scores and ratings to present a rosy picture to the outside world when things inside may not be so good.

Malaka Spice to me is the epitome of customer service simply because of the way they engage their patrons and work closely with customers to ensure that nothing but the best makes it to the Malaka Menu.
If they encounter a negative review or a constructive review, they always try a service recovery without threatening the person sharing the experience with lawsuits and defamation suits , neither do they go about threatening to shut down the blogger community or asking them to get any certification to share their experiences.
They have always believed in the co-existence of patrons and restaurants and in the genuine process of working on customer feedback.

My first #foodtasting invite from Malaka almost 3 years ago was an honor and many many tasting sessions later, the latest invite for the winter menu tasting still brought a smile and a feeling of pride.

A Malaka Spice food tasting is unlike any other typical food tasting where the endeavor is not your feedback but the eyeballs you can grab for the restaurant through your blogs/Instagram/Zomato/Facebook followers.
They're the only place who give you a pen and paper along with a printed menu for feedback during a tasting and then calibrate amongst themselves basis your feedback a day later.
They're also the only place that lets you interact with the staff, chefs and freely share your feedback, share your suggestions/opinions to make any particular dish better.
They're also the only place who will strike a dish off the menu if it doesn’t meet the Malaka standards.

The tasting panel comprised some veterans and I hold most of them in high esteem not because they have 10000 followers on Instagram but because they've earned the right to be on that panel due to their respect for food and the depth in knowledge of food.

The Winter Menu is designed keeping in mind the natural human behavior of looking for warmth in cooler climates, therefore we were not surprised to find grills and smoked meats along with some soul comforting soups and curries on the menu.

The Gaeng Som Soup was a Chicken Broth soup with the tang of tamarind, it immediately tickled the throat and flushed down the irritating cough.
The Korean Fish Cake Soup had beautiful chunks of fish in an extremely flavorful broth. Both the soups would be amazing during the winter chill of Pune.

Among the Salads, the Roasted Duck Salad and the Korean Green Salad were outstanding with crunchy farm fresh vegetables.

The Banh Trang Nuong - Chicken and The Banh Trang Nuong - Prawns didn’t work for me because the description said they were Vietnamese Grilled Rice Paper Pizzas but when the final dish came, they were more of crepes or rolls. Also felt under-seasoned. Also the mind is conditioned to expect a commercial looking pizza rather than a roll or a crepe. Maybe re-branding the dish and re-launching it as a Vietnamese Paper Roll might work.

The Clay Oven Roasted Duck was inconsistent, some of us received pieces that were wonderfully done whereas the ones I tasted were under-done and therefore hard to bite into. A little consistency in grilling it to perfection with the right char would make this an unbeatable dish. Duck Meat is tough to work with anyway.

The Grilled Chicken and Korean Fire Chicken were spot on though with the right char and were grilled to perfection.

Cambodian Tribal Clay Pot Cola Chicken was an intriguing dish with an interesting history of how it was conceived to impress guests by cooking chicken in Coca Cola (A luxury in those days) in a Clay Pot. The glaze on the chicken was beautiful and the meat was cooked perfectly.

The Vietnamese Grilled Snapper was a sight to behold and the accompanying sauce was fantastic. The size of the fish was bigger than my palm and the meat was flaky and soft. Loved this.

The Cambodian char grilled lamb ribs had the signature touch and perfection of Lamb Chops of Malaka and the Jakarta Spicy Mud Crab also stood out for preserving the sanctity of crab meat while adding flavors that complement.

In the desserts, the Key Lime Pie and Chocolate Baked Cheese Cake were tried and tested recipes.

Praful is a genius with a touch of madness that separates him from the rest and the culture that he has created in Malaka will ensure that Malaka continues to set the bar of excellence and innovation in the food industry.

Most ingredients in Malaka Spice are sourced from Cherish Farm where they grow food organically. Even the wood used in the grills like Tamarind, AMba, Babul and Mulberry were sourced from the farm. Each wood brings its own flavor to the meat being grilled.

The Winter Menu is available in Koregaon Park and Baner from 18th Nov. Do give it a try.

Great service. The chef accidentally prepped a different dish than the one I had ordered. We told this to our Waiter, and he got the dish replaced at no extra cost. Being a vegan, I was very impressed with their 8 page vegan menu. Sushi is great. Vegan gelato is a must-have. Their pumpkin chips are amazing as well.

Visited Malaka Spice, Baner for some weekend brunching scene. Used the PEO card to make the booking. It was super easy to book and avail the amazing offer which was curated for the PEO card holders. Coming to the food.. ordered Butter Garlic Prawns - the portion size was amazing, but I missed the kick of garlic in it! Since this dish doesn't have any other spices, the lack of garlic punch made it bland for my taste buds Bbq Mutton - I usually don't order mutton in Restaurants but this dish was really nicely done. The mutton was cut into slices. It was well cooked and the bbq flavor came right through! Mad Hats (I think that's the name) this dish particularly was a crowd favorite! The presentation was on point, coming to the flavour, crispy shell on the outside and minced flavorful chicken on the inside made sure this got over in seconds! For main course we ordered Thai curry with rice! It was done well, nothing to rave or complaint about! Over all, we ate like puppies and enjoyed the brunch! Service was excellent!

To start with, a wonderful place with splendid ambience. The floor above the entrance has a pretty romantic couples space with a non interrupting view of the western Pune. Reception and other staff is courteous and welcoming. Food was finger licking good with as mentioned inspired from and not imitating from Malay, Thai food. Starters - Golden fried wings was extravagantly tasty with its tangy lemongrass Malay flavor. Fire cracker prawns were an equal delight that had an Indian chat remix. Both the starters must try! Mains - Having been to Malaysia I had, to my dismay, missed a few of the must try dishes - kari kapitan and Roti Canai. And I must say Malaka spice made me relive the Malaysian taste in somewhat its own way! The sweet and spicy thick kari kapitan curry surely made my day - again a must try. Malaysian shredded herbal rice was an average but went well along with the kari. But then the obvious downsides - 1. All such great experiences won't come cheap, ~3k₹ for 2 (included a glass of Belgian wit, Independence brewing Co. Beer) 2. Tummy overflow error!

Great for and great ambience. Very friendly staff.. the best thing about Malaka Spice is their quality of food or service never goes down. I have been to different branches of this chain over the years but all of them have great service, great staff and superb quality food. I believe most organizations should learn from these guys how to ensure that the quality never suffers even after years of being around

Ambience was nice, taste and authenticity we truly Malaysia. Service was good. Portion per serving is less and ensure you order food giving 20 min to come. Enjoyed! A bit overpriced though, good to go for special occasion.
