Great Old restaurant with unique flavors. Some may like some may not.. Let's get into a deep dive Ambiance : Ambiance is more to cater the more customer as possible.. So it is more of a congested sitting place.. What I feel. Having a huge family together at one time is bit of issue.. But as I said earlier it is highly crowded most of time.. So it make sense to accomplish more and more people at time.. Service : Again it is more towards getting more and more people served as early as possible.. But waiters cum captain are well know to menu.. They will help you out about menu.. One issue with parking service is that they have car parking at different area than their restaurant.. So you have to handover the 🚘 car to their drivers.. However my issue is that they charge you for parking Rs. 50 for your car.. Not sure why first time i have seen a restaurant is charging for car parking.. Even after the one single biryani is costing rs. 500. I do not like it. So one ⭐ less for that. Food : Main thing food 🍲 , Most people come over here for their biryani.. So here is my review.. Sajuk tupatli chicken biryani : very very mild.. Good amount of ghee and bit of blend taste.. But my kido like it that way.. And i am ok to try new stuff. Give a try if you are person who do not like even mild spicy 🌶.. Sp Mutton dum biryani : very high on spicy mutton is smooth & tender.. (It's sheep 🐑 mutton ) . If you like very spicy biryani then give a try. Chicken lollypop very good liked 👍. The chutney was a bit different than the normal schezwan chutney.. Veg 🥦🥕🌽 green peas masala : very bad.. Too much oil and too much synthetic color. For all veg person, please do not even try to eat.. This restaurant is mainly for non veg lovers only.. Biryani tastes very good. Quality and quantity well maintained. Service is also fast. Visit only for biryani. Do not waste money on anyone fried food item, tried lollipops as well and they were juicy and quantity was also good but they definitely not taste well at all. Chinese stall chicken lollipops taste far better than this ones. Well managed. Mutton dum biryani and Gavran chiken biryani was awesome. Only issue with parking. Tried kolambi fry and quantity was not justifying cost 550/- rupees. Taste was okay wish they added more flavours to it. And they served coconut chutney it was okay in taste nothing special, they should served pudina and green chill chutney with then it'll definitely taste good. Tried aamir Khan special dum mutton biryani and it was good but i feel like white rice was served in it way to less as compared to biryani masala in it. At last had to eat only masala ☹

This is the best place for biryani lovers. Good ambience and good taste, the quantity is too much for a single person. Go empty stomach if you want to finish the entire plate. The cost is comparatively higher than other briyani hotels. But looking for a good ambience and taste this is worth it. The only bad thing is that they serve daal with veg biryani. I guess there should be veg curry served with veg biryani. Overall 4 stars.

SP biryani, Naam to Suna Hi Hoga… as it’s been 28 years. It has won the hearts of many Punekars.! And the reason being biryani ; Punekars has a separate soft corner for biryani, and their Biryani places and I found that the SP Biriyani is itself a craze As the day I went was a weekday and a afternoon time, and all three floors were fully packed with customers, and that was something crazy saw.! There were just biryani, biryani and biryani All Over on every table.! They have multiple options in biryani and also have other food options to go for…! the food quality and quantity compare to price is pretty good .! I do recommend this place for biryani lovers

The taste of the food follows their reputation. Very amazing, lip smacking food. They have a large menu, and it can be confusing if you are not sure of what you want to eat. Personal recommendations from the staff is available. We did order the Chicken specialty along with the Chicken dum biryani and both the dishes were really really awesome. The service is very helpful and attentive. Would love to come back again.

Taste is delicious everytime I visit. Chicken Biryani smells fantastic. Not a fan of sajuk ghee biryani because of less spicy and had a little bit sweet taste. I suggest to hotel owner/manager/captain to train their waiters to suggest customer on quantity of biryani whenever we order something different. At last we asked them to pack our leftover food. This is my favourite restaurant from my childhood.

A good place to have your biriyani in Pune. This is an age old restaurant in Pune and serves some good biriyani and mutton. The meat pieces are good and can be enjoyed here. The SP's mutton dum special biriyani is the best part here. It also serves Amir Khan Special mutton dum biriyani but it is more of pulao rather than biriyani. You can try the mutton special here but you need to go there early as it gets sold out. Overall you can visit there with family.

Best mutton biriyani I ve had till date! It is a must visit place if you are in Pune and love tasty food. The meat quantity in every dish is very generous. The staff is so very polite and the service is top-notch. The only problem you may encounter is that this place is flooded at peak hours during lunch and dinner. So many items may become out of stock. It is suggested to reach 30-60 mins before the usual lunch or dinner timings.

SP biryani is famous in the Pune. This place is best for Non Vegetarian Biryani lovers. As a Vegetarian person I'm giving 4 stars for Veg food only. They don't have much options in Veg. For starters only Aloo tikki is available which tasted like McCain's Aloo Tikki. Biryani was okay okay, Dal is served as sider for Veg food . In nomveg they have lot's of options and my colleague loved the food. Mutton dishes are famous. Must try place. it's always Crowded.

It's one of the best biryani place in pune. They cook most of their biryani variety in ghee. Sol kadi is just the perfect drink to have along with biryani. Try delecious kebabs here. The quantity is enough to be served for 1 person, you need to order 2 pots for 2 person. Biryani and all other food items are at a very affordable price here.<br/><br/>The place is good but you have to wait in a long que for table to dine in there. It's very time consuming.

This restaurant is one of the worst places I have ever been to, in Pune. The most overrated Biryani in the city is served by them which not only is far from having authentic taste, but also is greasy, unnecessarily spicy, and unfavourably bland. Also, NEVER TRY THE STARTERS here. There is no mention of starters in the menu card but the waiter shall voluntarily give you options without mentioning the price. To give an example, I was served 3 ill-tasting skinny chicken gravy pieces as Chicken Legpiece starters for a questionable price of ₹380 which has quality, quantity and taste that dont even deserve ₹100. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTING.

One of the best biryani place in town for sure proper authrntic biryani, I tried 1. SAJUK GHEE CHICKEN DUM BIRYANI , NAWABI CHICKEN BIRYANI . First one was superb but only thing if you like raita with biryani this place doesn't serve raita which is the only thing i doesn't like otherwise all good

Biryani is a common favourite and I believe it ha been abused in various food joints.  BUT, SP Biryani (Mutton) is addictive. You just can;t get enough. The flavours are mild, soothing to your stomach lining. Overall, delicious biryani, awesome in quantity and the meat is so well cooked. I would recommend mutton biryani to all (I've not tried anything else because I can;t get enough of it).

Decided to visit this place after hearing so much about it practically for all my life as a punekar. we ordered two sajuk tup chicken biryani. What went well was the place is neat, clean, hygienic. The chicken was well cooked, suplimentary Rasa was good - not too flowy, properly spicy, good in taste. But the main thing which we were looking forward to was a disappointment. They delivered the order in within 5mins. Not a vapour could be seen, it was just mildly warm. Taste wise - it was not spicy but should have been atleast little because that is how biryani tastes better, the rice was literally swimming in ghee, the masala was not great either. In short a disappointment. Wouldn't recommend and won't visit again :(

A very famous place among Punekars. They serve one of the best biryanis in the city. It is spicy and delicious. You have to wait for some time to grab a seat as this place is always full, so recommend to reach there a little early.<br/>Nice ambience and service 👍🏻

The ratio of quantity and price is questionable. When others (PK) are offering 3 chicken pieces @ 168/- , it was disheartening to get only 2 Chicken pieces for Rs 379/-. About taste ..I personally found taste of all available Biryanis on Zomato are almost of same good quality

Well, i visited this place after hearing alot from my friend s,but the food was not up to the mark..i am highly disappointed with the food nd the service. First of all, no one served the food and charged like a luxury restaurants. Secondly, the food was pathetic, laccha paratha has no laccha in it, chapati was horrible, chicken bum biryani had hell lot of spice nd masala, we also ordered prawn fry, which was good thou. Lastly, i would like to say that the cost of food doesn't make Justice with the quality nd quantity.

Heard so much about their spcl Sajuk Biryani so went to try it over the weekend and it was not at all disappointing. The biryani was light and delicious and their heart warming use of ‘asli ghee’ makes its to die for. Mutton was so succulent and tender. It made the journey all worth it. They also have ‘gavti’ gravy in chicken and mutton whch is thick and spicy and full of life.

Pethatically cheap and low class Biryani. We ordered veg Biryani from here it was full of oil so much so the we had to throw the bottom half of the it as it was dripping with oil. Its seemed same like the food u get on low class cheap road side places.<br/>I did not get what the fuzz is all about may be still people dont get the whole idea of Biryani in there minds. And the cost that we paid for cheap class Biryani should be treated as fraud and cheating with people. <br/>We got caught in all the hype wont happen again <br/>I suggest people plz stay away from this place or u will end up with bad stomach or with bad feeling of wast a lot of on crap like this.

Visited this restaurant with my cousin, this restaurant management is horrible and rude. Tastless biryani having big a size chicken piece, can't even explain how it was and top of the worst part is they charge bisleri at rs 30 + gst and if it's cold then again price is high.

I ordered sajuk tup chicken biryani. Price Wise it was highly over rated. And the teast was also not that good .<br/>It wasn't spicy . And I felt like I was having just boiled chicken mixed with flaverfull rice . Honest review if you are a biryani fan and you want you biryani to be spicy then it's not a place for you .<br/>

Horrified to know the recent incident of worm being found in the biryani. The way in which the staff handled the issue is very arrogant. It seems that they do not need customers now. Manager should have politely apologised, but instead he started abusing and arguing with the customer. Even tried to snatch the phone from him to stop him from recording. Zomato should remove such restos from their listings.

Sp briyani is old and famous but after seen video of worms in the briyani its has proven how careless they are about health of people .plus arrogant with the customers. They might has earned lots of money but they have lost goodwill and faith .it should get shutdown permanently .

There is video evidence about this outlet serving biryani with worms in it. Video does not look like fake one. Zomato should do hygiene check for this restaurant!! We pay heavy amount for food and this kind of restaurants play with customer’s health.

U will find worms in your food not worth the waiting u can always to to a different restaurant which is less crowded and clean<br/>Before it was good but not now<br/>Hated it

Not maintain Quality and quantity is very low they have to improve. Just a name staff is arrogant. Food test is not like past mutton quantity in biryani is like nothing served only rice.

Not safe place to eat..got video in which got worm in biryani..I tried this place 2 times and frankly the quality of this place is down and now this worm incident..

Yesterday we had worst experience with SP's Biryani. We had ordered chicken dum biryani where we found insect in it.on informing same to the floor manager he suggests "Aisa hota hai kabhi kabhi". Absolutely unhygienic and pathetic service.

This place is right in the middle of the city, exactly opposite to famous SP college. The place offers authentic and exquisite non veg dishes. I tried three course fish food dinner here. All of the items were of the top quality and had amazing taste. This place offers clean and quiet ambience. Must go and try non-veg here. Also, it is a great value for money spent.

SP's Biryani House<br/><br/>Happened to visit this place while I was roaming in Peth area for some shopping. Scene at the ground floor was surprising as many two wheelers were parked next to the parcel counter. We were quickly directed to third floor i.e. towards the family section of the restaurant. This place has good ambience; having chicken, egg and lamb cutouts on the wall representing their menu 😂😂.<br/><br/>We got ourselves a full serving of sajuk (ghee) mutton biryani, ole (wet) Bombil (Bombay Duck) fry and a glass full of solkadhi.<br/><br/>🍽️ Ole Bombil Fry: Best of what we had ordered and the best Bombil fry I have had till date!! They served crispy deep fried thin strips of Bombil fish coated with some flour batter (I think it was cornflour) and a hint of garlic 😋😋..........<br/><br/>🍽️ Mutton Biryani: Best part of the mutton biryani was the soft and tender mutton. However, it had very less masala to add flavour to entire serving of biryani.<br/><br/>🍽️ Solkadhi: This was okay and I felt it should have been served chilled (especially considering the summer season)….....<br/><br/>Bombil fry was the clear winner here! I had little higher expectations from the biryani, though. Recommend this place for the fish dishes correlating my experience with the fried fish!!
