Had a chance to visit this place for a school reunion.
The first things have catches your eye is the ambience and decor. The restaurant is lit up in soft tones and the seating arrangement is very spacious and comfortable.
The best part of this restaurant's location is the economic prices of alcohol.
Coming to the food, we had ordered two chicken starters, a chicken tikka and a chilli chicken. The plating of both starters were very well done and the taste was great!
We had also ordered Masala papad, however the tomatoes on it seemed to have gone bad. When complained, the management was quick to check the problem and offer replacement.
Barring this, it was a good experience. The serving staff is very courteous and polite as should be expected in a restaurant of this cadre.
Excellent food, lovely bar and good service.
Ambience & decor stands out at a club.
PYC membership doesn't help as prices are @market - rather guests have to pay entrance fees at club making the bill higher - exception is for drinks which are priced as club - so foodies enjoy if you are up for drink & dinner.
We had a very nice experience with April Rain PYC . It was extremely good quality food again desserts were amazing. We spent close to 3 hrs without any botheration from staff. Amazing ambience just a perfect place to go with family.
A hidden gem in Deccan area. Only can be accessed by members of PYC. I was lucky to have a friend host me there. The place has amazing decor and very fine service.
The best part though is the menu and the food. Amazing variety, very good presentation and tasty too. We loved the burmese soup and the butter garlic prawns. Drinks are at club rate , so all in all a very highly recommended place.
Exclusive restaurant for PYC MEMBERS
With awesome interior and amazing food ( indian oriental continental thai ) chef mr sowani's signature dishes and designed menu it's simply awesome
Love the food here
The menu has a lot of variety
The rainbow soup was unique and good
The Burmese quso (chef special ) is fantastic ( it is a dish with noodle and green Thai curry )
The deserts were good
The staff is good and the ambiance is pretty good
The cost is a tad expensive
Amazing food, excellent ambience , great service. Loved the experience at april rain. A must visit for any puneite specially people in areas around deccan. Appetizers taste great should try it out. A five star for a great evening at april rain.
Visited this restaurant along with a few friends for drinks and accompanying snacks. From the entrance itself it was noticeable that a lot of effort has gone in for creating a soothing ambience and a relaxed atmosphere. The establishment has adequate seating capacity.
We were 7 of us and all of us were able to comfortably sit at a large table. We ordered drinks and starters. These were Masala Papad, Chicken Tikka and Chicken Malai Tikka. The starters were very well prepared and the taste was just right. In fact we went for a repeat!
For the main course we ordered Butter Chicken and roti. This too was very nicely done. The quantity was also adequate and we all relished it.
I would like to day that it was a very nice experience and it is a restaurant that I would love to visit again.
Absolutely beautiful ambience and food..basa fish is a must try..their soups are also good..a pleasant experience..a perfect place to go with family they food is delicious a good place for kebabs as well
Is a good option if you wish to have a peaceful dinner ! silent place ambience is good ! food is also tasty! reservation is recommended usualy on weekends !
A family get together was attended by us to celebrate the 61st birthday of a family member.
The clubhouse is located close to Deccan and is a premium establishment comparable to any star property in hospitality.
Their area for such get togethers is on the third floor and the layout provides adequate privacy while enabling seamless services across the locations that are adjacent to one another.
The view of the cricket grounds adds to a feel good feeling.
The snacks were delicious, as was the dinner. The service was excellent and the overall feeling was of being served well from start to finish .
A difficulty the club needs to attend to is paucity of parking and if you happen to be self driving the discomfort multiplies.
Very old Gymkhana in Pune, famous for gym tennis cricket etc ,having good club house for snacks dineetc. Big hall for organising functions like seminars, marriage party, get together drinks and dinner parties for upto 500guests.right of use restricted to members only.
The place is amazing. Food was also good. They don’t have enough parking.
Nice clean and upclass place... Good environment and great vibes... Nice and sophisticated people... Overall a great experience. The only drawback is that there's no parking provision for guests.. only for members... So had to struggle a bit to find safe parking spot...
Very expensive to join if you at all have an opportunity. I have heard lat may they were charging ₹ 25,00,000 to join There could be long waitlist.
Interestingly the joining fee was about ₹ 1,00,000 about 20 years ago.
I had breakfast with a friend. The facility was great, overlooking sports pitches. Haven in the middle of Pune!
If you can afford it and can make use of it, it is a great facility to join.
Interestingly the membership is not transferable.
Got Chance to visit due to IND vs BAN Match For Collection of ICC MENS WORLD CUP IND vs BAN Match which was conducted on MCA STADIUM. Got Ticket by Very Good Digital Process.
I recently had the privilege of visiting the PYC Hindu Gymkhana in the Pune Deccan area, which is renowned as one of the city's oldest and most prestigious clubs with a rich history. Access to this club is limited to members, their family members, and friends.
I went there with my brother-in-law and his family, and our experience was nothing short of exceptional. The food served was truly delightful, and the service was impeccable. What's remarkable about this place is the presence of two to three restaurants within the same premises, each offering a distinct and delectable dining experience.
The atmosphere exudes a wonderful sense of history and tradition, and being surrounded by the legacy of this club adds to the overall charm. I highly recommend PYC Hindu Gymkhana to anyone fortunate enough to have access, as it provides not only great food and service but also a fantastic ambiance that's perfect for a memorable outing.
Excellent location, great ambiance overlooking a functioning cricket turf.
Brilliant venue for a private party, a cozy get together.
Good food and good vibes.
The insides of the club are a bit like a labyrinth - probably the results of ad hoc expansion.
A lovely place to stay with all facilities like cricket ground swimming pool, badminton table tennis 🏓🎾
Open to members and their guests. Known for their sporting events. Good food, reasonable and a nice environment . Parking however isn't available for guests. Best to take a cab if you are invited .
