one of the best thali in pune. very old and simple ambaince, its like sitting in a wada and having a tastey puneri food. each and every item in thsli is tasty and freshly prepared.it will be like some old restaurant.each will have a separate dining table. service was also great. lovely homely food. a must visit.
This serves to its name in the heritage of food messes I.e. the khaanavals of Pune. At 150/- you can have lip smacking food which fulfills your hunger. The food has maintained its authenticity
Good place. One of the oldest dining places. Tasty simple homly food. Good staff. I love the taste and quality. The custard is also awsome. Friday closed.
Delicious and homely Maharashtrian thali in reasonable price. They serve very tasty and good quality food. You will get chapatis, two sabjies, daal, fresh curd, chatni, papad, waran , rice and koshimbir in a thali. Sweets are served with extra pay...and are full of taste too.
Simple, no oily and perfectly spiced Puneri food.

A review on Facebook drove us to this place, after a tiring day at work we ended up to eat some homely food!! Being “Sadashiv peth” pune-30 still the people who serve have an amazing aura and smile throughout! The food is amazing! We had a friend from Kolkata eating Maharashtrian food for the first time and this is what she concluded the dinner with “Pet toh bhara hi, lekin dil bhi bhar gaya...!”

*THE MERRY QUOTIENT* - The affordable food and the variety in food items.
I have been to New Poona boarding quite a few times now and it has been the same consistently. Of course ! With that kind of age for a typical 'khanaval' everybody is trained enough to run it smoothly.
The food is great. Affordable. And theres a variety too. The place is always bustling with crowd and does have a waiting que most of the times. The interiors is nothing fancy at all. It maybe a put off to someone who is used to decent or posh places, but don't judge a book in this case for sure. The menu is a simple maharashtrian thali with regular recipes. But it's tasty.
It's mostly visited by students and a regular crowd that is looking for hygienic, healthy, home like food at an very affordable cost. That will give you an idea of the ambience.
The hosts are welcoming and running the place is almost second nature to all the staff there.
Do visit if you want to have tasty simple food at affordable prices and don't mind the crowd !
Nice, clean and hygienic food.
No fancy stuff, just a simple homely food that is light on stomach and easy to digest.
Nice and polite staff.
Almost more than 50 years old outlet, serving authentic Maharashtrian Veg, Thali, unlimited serving except few items
They serve to 2 sabji Aamti (lentil,)Raita or koshimbir Chapati, rice papad, Dahi (curd).
Every thing is unlimited, except Dahi and papad
Now let us come to taste
Hey steps awesome just like homely prepared food, but specific thing to mention that in every preparation of Amati and sabji even in koshimbir, they use sugar or Jaggery So almost all the food items except Chapati and rice or little bit on sweeter side but the taste it is perfectly balanced. Food is delicious and you don’t feel heavy Ness in stomach after having your meal
So I will give you 9 out of 10 rating for food over here keeping one star with me because the rice was too much dry so that is absolutely my personal opinion may differ with others
Wanted to visit this place since very long and finally had it happened.
Its an old, simple yet clean place having typical Maharashtrian Menu. Menu is short and sweet, which I really liked. It only has a Thali system with unlimited refills.
Taste is simply amazing. The menu was - काचरी बटाटा, डाळ मेथी, खमंग काकडी, आमटी, पोळी आणि भात. Like I mentioned, menu was simple yet delicious. Liked each and every item. All items are mild in tatse (the way they should be) and do not give you trouble anytime.
A must visit place if you want to have simple yet authentic Maharashtrian Thali.
Best Maharashtrian unlimited thali. Kadhi Khichadi best on Monday Thursday. My anytime favourite place for dinner for variety in taste.
Yummy food. If you want to eat typically Puneri food, this is the place to go for. Traditional satvik food is offered here. No extra masale and tamjham. Lovely taste and is unlimited with loads of variety.
