Review Oriental Story By Kiva - Pune

Kaustubh Amin
This place has very good ambience , with good food , polite staff. They have dishes from different countries. They serve a good authentic Chinese food , as well as thai etc. Walls are well painted which gives a different ambience. Chicken burnt garlic rice with prawns was really tasty. Sauces with appetizers were too tasty. I would rate this place as very good. Food 4/5 Variety 5/5 Taste 4/5 Ambience 4/5

Oriental Story : Good Food, Good Ambiance and BAD SERVICE. Very good food but the service was pathetic, The server who was servings us Jeet Tom (Complete name nor remember) was so rude and not at all interested in serving us . Even manager Mr Devesh or Deboshis was also not interested to look into the matter, I have called both of them at least 3 - 4 times and they were not even bother to give us the menu card, I have visited with my wife and daughter and these two person Jeet & Devesh (Jeet's manager) spoiled our evening. Restaurant was not even half occupied but even they were not able to manage the show. Even after all that bad service experience, food was really test good it was some what expensive as compare to other hotel in Baner, For ex. I think it was not good to pay 450 Rs just for "Chiken Thai Carry" but test bit the price. Oriental Story was a good example of Good Food, Good Ambiance and BAD SERVICE.

Its a must try for people who like chinese food. I visited it last week.. we had the pan fried fish for starters which is really tasty. For the main course we had burnt garlic rice with prawns in xo sauce and chicken with basil & thyme.. do try the xo sauce very delicious. I like the wall paitings. Gives a good feel..

Tried the christmas buffet there. Value for money. Had a mix spread of many asian dishes with salads such as the kimchi, glass noodles with chicken etc. The appetisers had a spread of springrolls as well as a thai crusted fish dish. The sauce accompaniments were yumm!!! The main course included veg dishes like okra in hunan sauce and chinese veg in cantones style and a nonveg spread of lamb in thai yellow curry and a chicken in spicy pepper sauce.<br/><br/>The buffet spread was hot and fresh and worth the effort.

Authentic chinese food has always been my weak point and oriental story is another brilliant option that has got added in my hotel list. Visited this place for dinner with friends and couldn't be more happier.<br/><br/>Ambience and service:<br/>Entire restaurant has a Chinese theme with beautiful hanging lampshades, paintings, wooden furniture style and four cornered dish arrangement( squarish dishes). Service is warm and welcoming with staff giving some good suggestions for first time customers. Attitude and serving style both very professional.<br/><br/>Food:<br/>Soup: We started with the Chicken Tom Kha soup. Consistency was great with little thickness and some interesting flavours coming from the vegetables.<br/><br/>Starters:<br/>Chicken Manchurian: Chicken juicy and cooked perfectly. Sumptuous dry gravy was finger licking compliment.<br/>Thai vegetable spring roll: Sufficient amount of filling and good thing was it was not dry. Enjoyed it with fresh schezwan chutney.<br/><br/>Main course:<br/>Chicken in chilli garlic basil: Delicious gravy and succulent chicken.<br/>Massaman curry: Coconut flavoured gravy was mind blowing and had tremendous flavours infused in it. Splendid use of different spices and masalas.<br/>Burnt garlic fried rice and hakka noodles: As you would expect in any authentic Chinese hotel.<br/><br/>Desserts:<br/>Sizzling brownie and darsan:<br/>The showstoppers!!!!! Sizzling brownie with hot chocolate sauce nothing more to ask for. Darsan was ice cream with honey glazed friend noodles. Pretty unique concept!!!<br/><br/>So with tummies overfull and big smile on face, a fantastic dinner was concluded. Highly recommended for Chinese foodies. Pricing is also correct compared to food quality and ambience.<br/><br/>Food 4.5/5<br/>Service 4/5<br/>Ambience 4/5<br/>Pricing 4/5

Just wow!! I loved it so much that I am writing a review on the way back itself. Had Rainbow soup which was PERFECT.. Scezwan noodle was YUMM. Best thing was the decor. It was an awesome dinner. Please do visit.

If you're with friends and you really don't wanna take chances, trying to find the best place for food, take them here. This isn't the best but it is quite safe. It was a really nice experience with very professional staff. The food was, well, Chinese. The clear soup was godlike. I've had better dim sums. The rice was good but dry, get some gravy. I'd ask for a suggestion as to what to have with what you've had in mind. Overall, I'd go here again.
Rashmi Baliga
My experience has not been of eating here, but of getting takeaway. The staff was courteous and I'm sure the service would have been good ; however, once removed from the restaurant, I was extremely disappointed by the extremely average food and it's lacklustre taste. Definitely not going back here because however good the ambience may be, the food speaks for itself!

Good place. Food is very good. Ambience is good. Service is very good. Easy access. Friendly staff. Burmese khaosui is a must try. Try the Thai food menu.

Decent food at a slightly higher prices ....you get authentic Chinese food here but it does not bring that wow factor that other places in the city do <br/>

My chinese tastebuds were tingling so decided to try this hotel on a pleasant afternoon... Good ambience not too shady not to crowded... As it was afternoon there was hardly any rush... We had some lemon coriander soup followed by some burnt garlic chicken fried rice... Nd i must say that i was very much satisfied with their taste presentation and quantity... This is like the less costlier version of mainland china... If u are in baner and want to try some good quality Chinese then this one is a must try... <br/>Cheers!

Kiva Ivy and Oriental Story have been around for over 2 years now and they’re surely the places you’d want to be when you are on a budget of less than 1500 INR for two people, for a complete Chinese meal experience. Both these places have a kitchen but separate menus to keep everyone happy. <br/><br/>Of course, Oriental Story as the name suggests serves Chinese cuisine which is done to finesse and suit most of the Indian taste palates. It is not Desi Chinese and you’d certainly not expect that bit if you would. Across the length of Baner Road, this is the only upmarket Chinese restaurant that is not expensive, serves filling food too.<br/><br/>I tried most of the classics here which are top selling and done to perfection. You’ll love the Crispy Fried Jade Chicken, which is coated with crispy fried finely chopped spinach – one of the better Fried Chicken dishes you’d enjoy in a long time.<br/><br/>The Vegetarians will love the Veg Dim Sum because it comes with a really good stuffing of Tofu, Mushrooms, Cabbage and Carrots. There is an array of Sauces which are served juts before you start your meal. They make an in-house XO sauce which is one of the finest ones in Pune if you’re looking for something really authentic without the use of authentic ingredients per se. They use Bombay Duck and S to make their XO Sauce.<br/><br/>The mains included a list of classics and top selling food again – Hunan Chicken with Singapore Noodles, they’re a nice match because the Hunan Chicken is mildly spicy and the Singapore Noodles tend to be sweet. <br/><br/>Then there’s another match you’d want to consider, primarily for vegetarians – Tahitian Exotic Veggies along with Burnt Garlic Fried Rice with/without Egg. The Tahitian Exotic Veggies might not be your choice if you don’t like Cinnamon and Nutmeg dominating flavours. But it is one of the top selling dishes here so you still might want to try. Pair it up with something salty and spicy so it isn’t primarily sweet on your palate.<br/><br/>I tried the Classic Date Pancakes which are crazy good, served warm, with a scoop of Vanilla Icecream – you’re pretty much sorted for a fine dessert. <br/><br/>To talk some more about Kiva Ivy, they’ve done their classics perfect again. The ones you’d definitely try are the Apple and Hazelnut Martini and the Mojito. The Apple Martini is really packed with flavour and hazelnut with apples is a really great flavour combination.<br/><br/>The Mojito of course, as we know, is a classic and the reason I highly recommend it here is because there is perfect amount of alcohol to it. Many of those bars forget the alcohol factor and it almost becomes like a Virgin Mojito. That won’t happen here.<br/><br/>There’s some good bar snacks on the menu but the one you must try is the Crispy Asian Sweet Corn Chaat with Capsicum, it is one of the very fine bar/cinema foods there is. I won’t mind gorging on those while I am watching a movie either, haha! Of course, there is a lot more on offer but mainly the way classics are done. So you’d not hesitate to ask them for your choice of appetizers that they have.

FoodProwl team was invited for Food tasting event at Kiva - Oriental Story. What appeals once you enter this place is eye-catching Chinese character all across on the walls. Immediately you are transferred to typical China environment due to the ambiance around.<br/><br/>Next thing which catches your attention is small sauce platter which has six different portions of sauces. The idea here is you can taste them and choose them for your main course. <br/><br/>We were served lot of options out of which worth mentioning were<br/><br/>Fish in Black Bean Sauce ,Pork Spare Ribs in Honey Chili Basil , Crispy Fried Jade Chicken,Peach iced tea and Date Pancakes.<br/><br/>Other food items we had were Singapore Noodles, Moon Pan Rice , Burnt Garlic Fried Rice with Egg, Plum Sauce with Chicken, Dice Vegetable & Almond in Mild Garlic Sauce and <br/><br/>Xo Sauce with Prawns.,Baby Corn Mushroom Salt & Pepper <br/><br/>Dim sum Prawns ,Chilli Paneer ,Dim sum Veg ,Egg Drop Noodles Soup and Lemon Coriander Baby corn Soup. These food items were not bad but will need some more efforts to make them best.<br/><br/>Overall it was a decent experience this place has certainly  a potential to serve good oriental food .Wil definitely try this place after some days once again.

Its along baner road opposite to veritas. Though its a busy road once you enter inside... You enter into a pleasant aura of the restraunt .. its really cosy... <br/>The service is top notch.. and the food... Man the food. 😍<br/>I love the khow suey.. here... The taste is so.. authentic... And i would still rate the khow suey here as the best of all ive tasted.. <br/>Was here for an office lunch party once.. and once with a friend.. loved the food both times veg nonveg...<br/>Wonderful experience.....<br/>

I have always loved the Chinese food here. It's closest to authentic Chinese and for me much better deal than mainland china. Burnt garlic rice and Hunan sauce with khau-say remains my all time favorite here. <br/><br/>The only change I felt is, they have reduced the quantity of food they serve.

This is a strategically located, cosy place! They serve authentic chinese, the flavours might at times get too pungent but probably that's how its supposed to be! The wanton soup i ordered was flavoursome and subtle on the palate, however, the starter was an unacceptable overload of black pepper! There was nothing to complain about the maincourse, nice and filling! One should definitely visit this place if Chinese is your thing and Mainland China is unaffordable 😝

Really good Tom Yum soup and Khow Suey... Awesome Shanghai Potatoes... Visited this place for a quick office lunch so I really liked the quick delivery. The ambience is also good, you might have to look out for Car parking issue.
Priyanka Sawhney
The place is a pretty decent with the walls painted great, The service is prompt and courteous, We started with chicken Soup which was just good..Garlic Noodles and Burnt Garlic Rice were conventional..didn't find them extra ordinary..Chilly Chicken was prepared differently where the pieces were burnt more to the optimal. Honey Potato was bad..Veg Crispy just complemented..Must Try at this place. Overall i would say the food is just good with humble clime.

Had been to this place for a casual dinner. German beer was simply awesome and the momos were delicious. Good service and good ambience. The only thing i thought they should work upon is washroom facility, its quite far from hotel.

This restaurant always makes me happy by their delicious food. The staff is courteous ambience is nice and clean. They serve a limited menu of food but their quality is good. Overall 7 out of 10 :)

We were there for our friend's birthday party overall experience was good , In the first course of meal wonton soup , chilli potatoes and fried shrimp and in the main course, we had garlic fried rice and Thai gravy , veggies were rotten in the gravy that was bad they had it change . Rating Food 2/5Service 2/5Ambience 3/5Overall nice place visit but not extraordinary about food.

We happen to be super hungry and as it was a Saturday night, all places had waiting. But when checked Kiva oriental story, we got a table immediately. The ambience was really good and Chinese being my favorite I was very skeptical if we will get good Chinese. However they did not disappoint us and served very good food. We ordered lemon coriander and manchow soup. The lemon coriander soup looked bland when they got it but it tasted yummy. The main course was also good. However they do better with their portion that they serve. Overall good experience

First time I'm rating a place as 4.5/5 because the food I had here was the tastiest Chinese I've had in a long long time. Ambience is perfect. People are nice and food is awesome awesome awesome. Home delivery is also good. Burnt garlic noodles, mushroom tofu basil soup highly recommended for foodies :D

Excellent Place !!<br/>My chinese craving took me here.<br/>Ambience and Food is amazing.<br/>We ordered manchow soup, chilli basil mushroom, drunken noodles and oriental fish. Everything was tasty. Though I didn't liked the oriental fish much but my friend loved it.<br/>Overall a good chinese place.

I have been going by this place daily and the place looks engaging to the eyes from outside.<br/><br/>So on one weekend we chose to visit it. I am as of now fanatic of Kiva establishments however this spot is totally distinctive endeavour.<br/><br/>Kiva Oriental Story spoils you freshly brewed beer, amazing cocktails with lip smacking oriental food.<br/><br/>Even on weekend the place was not crowded at all. It was so unwinding to discover place which is not humming with boisterous visits and giggling.<br/><br/>Must Try Out: <br/><br/>We had been snacking whole day so had very little appetite. For starter we had Fried vegetables in Chili Garlic sauce.<br/>The sauce was thick and vegetables were completely soaked in it. It taste minimal zesty however hypnotizing.<br/><br/>For main course we went for Drunken Noodles, which a Chinese-influenced dish that was made popular by the Chinese people living in Thailand and Laos. It was broad rice noodles, with soy & fish sauce topped with chicken chunks.<br/><br/>In beverages you can always opt for home brewed beer or try Green Apple Vodka Martini and Singapore Sling.<br/><br/>Few other preparations worth a try are Wonton Soup, Dim Sums, honey Hunan Chicken, Khow seuy and Sumatra curry.<br/><br/>Vibe; <br/><br/>Kiva oriental story is basically an oriental restaurant attached Kiva ivy the drinking place. Oriental story has decent exterior, the interior is done with wall painting of Chinese looking smurfs. Selection of hues, curios, representations and works of art provides feel of an oriental place. Decent levels of illumination in spacious hall with 15 or above tables. The mood disobediently gives a decent vibe about the spot.<br/><br/>Service: <br/><br/>At times, you may need to sit tight interminably to place your requests and getting your requests served. Amid introductory days they had poor service on account of untrained and short staff however now it is tremendously enhanced and things are fine. We got our request in time and staff was useful and prompt. <br/><br/>Value for money place for tasteful, good quality Oriental food

Nice place when you don't compare it to Mainland China. Not half as good when you do. Lovely ambience for dining, except for noisy Baner Road traffic just outside. The food is of good quality most of the times. Home delivery isn't a strong point, food has been delivered late/cold a few times.
Prashant Bhandari
Wife and I landed up here for an unplanned dinner evening . Good place. Great staff. Nice food.<br/>We ordered a dish which the Mrs did not like. They were kind enough to change it.<br/>We will defntly be visiting here again.

Visited this place without any planning. Had manchow soup and crispy crunchy potato in starter. Soup was really nice but the potato thing was sweet. Schezwan noodles in the main course had perfect taste. Overall a good place for chinese.

Pathetic experience <br/>Well I have ordered curries starters and noodles to my surprise I found cockroach in noodles when we reported them they were like it may happen sometimes <br/>They told me they will give ice cream for compensation n 20% discount finally we agreed it may happen but u will not believe we received an expired ice cream I mean the ice cream was all melted n tasted like it's n left over the manager was very rude <br/>I have shared the photo with bill

A place on my wishlist for a long time mainly for ambience...Had been there finally...ordered chicken drumsticks, chilly basil rice , hot and sour chicken soup and sambaudon curry....the soup was normal..The chicken drumsticks were undercooked that we had to return it.the basil rice and the curry.was.awesome....perfect blend..In all a good experience but nothing great to go back again. The ambience needs special mention.

I had seen this place a couple of times, on my way to aundh from baner. Initially, I thought Kiva and Oriental Story are two different restaurants in the same complex, but then realized that they are one and the same. To begin with, the decor is classy. The food not so. I'd been there with my fiancée and we had ordered a veg starter and a non veg starter - - the only dish we liked. The mocktails were pretty average(too sweet). The veg starter (babycorn) was raw. Chicken in plum sauce was palatable though. For main course, we ordered Burnt garlic noodles and chicken basil curry, which again was decent. The rates were on a higher side, if you consider the food quality. All in all a not so good gourmet experience. 2 on 5 if you ask me!
Pooja Mayadeo
It always happens that you tend to visit the restaurants very close to your house very late. That is exactly what happened with Oriental Story. The restaurant has been beckoning to me for the past two years every time I stopped at the Symantec signal. Finally last month we found time to go there.<br/><br/>They serve good, hot heart warming food cooked to perfection.<br/><br/>I would say this can be as good as mainland china was a few years back before it became very expensive and the portions became smaller.<br/><br/>The ambience, which seems to be low lit when you see it from the road, is actually quite nice and cheerful once you actually enter the place.<br/><br/>The service staff is polite and attentive and give you enough time to decide what you want to order.<br/><br/>Coming to the food, in my two visits here, we ordered chilli potatoes and dimsums in starters and both were prepared very well. We also had the chicken soup which tasted clean and superb as an chicken clear soup should taste.<br/><br/>The main course was well prepared. We had steamed rice with thai curry and the second time we had a fried rice. Next time we go there, I wish to try the desserts which sounded interesting as well.<br/><br/>They have a tiny bar for the cocktails which are good. The beer collection also sounds good but I havent tried it yet.<br/><br/>I would surely return to this place, more so because it is so close to my house.
Akshay Sarnaik
The has become one of my top 10 must visit restaurants. I have been here twice and I liked it everytime. The service is a bit slow but the food is simply awesome. WE had ordered lung fung soup which was little cold but the taste was good. In main course we had ordered minced chicken broccoli and chilli garlic basil and it was amazing. The service was a bit slower as it was 14th feb but rest was good.
Jyotirmay.bapat
This is real chinese place with superb ambience always a pleasure to have food here. <br/>Best is the service to look forward to.<br/><br/>The preparations are authentic and good

Good Chinese and Oriental food. Nice option for cocktails to choose from. Service was quick and food was delicious as well. Prices are little higher in comparison to ambience and location...
Rai Prajal
I had a good time here in this restaurant. Ordered green curry and burnt garlic noodles as suggested by the waiter and must say it was awesome. The ambience is good to. Must try again
Kshitiz Choudhary
We went for a official send off party of a colleague. It was a weekday hence not crowded. The ambiance is good and so are the cocktails. Special mention Green Apple Vodka Martini.<br/>Food on an average was good.
Sarika Shah
The ambience of this restaurant is nice for a quiet and peaceful dinner date (place is not crowded even on weekends). Food was a disappointment.<br/><br/>I had been there to celebrate a friend's birthday with two other couples and the overall experience was just about average.<br/><br/>Mocktails were decent but mojito was a major let down. Not sure how can this simple drink not come out right. Guys in the group were grumpy about this.<br/><br/>Starters were good. Veg fried balls stood out and were very soft and delicious. Spring rolls were average. Swati Goyal Ishan Goyal<br/><br/>In main course we ordered their recommendations- rice and noodles. Both were bland.<br/><br/>To summarize, a very average food tasting experience, nice ambience and a slightly damp outing (yes, the A.C. duct on top of the table was leaking once in a while - photo attached).
Vinita Shrijit
Had a wonderful evening at the oriental story... Being middle of the week, the place was empty. ..but the food was commendable. Tried roasted lamb, momos, chicken in chili basil. Would like to rate the lamb dish the best. Sizzling brownie with caramel banana was yummilicious.
Aman
Pretty decent ambience and good service make up for okish food. They do serve freshly brewed Wheat beer, but the taster that was served was warm which did not make for an inviting start. Overall average.
Aman Vijay
Went to this place with a frnd in the afternoon... They have happy hours from 4-7 pm...the place was empty in the afternoon ...amazing ambience....you can call for tasters for all the brewed beers available ....my personal fav is apple cider...masala peanuts was nice served and tasty...service is quick...but the only problem is all the staff continuously looks at you which is quite disturbing ....the place is quite expensive but can be visited for sports screening and some nice time with frnds and especially for apple cider
Hardeep Singh Chowdhary
Good food, different breweries, and the manager Shrikant Kulkarni also handles things well. Should be open late night. Love the hospitality because it's worth paying money here, than The Cartels, they will be verbose in telling you that "because of you our waiter are staying late night". They did tell me this. Love Kiva Baner
Vinay Dave
Once you enter the restaurant, nice and spacious ambiance greets you. food is just awesome , we tried Thai Red Curry with burnt garlic rice. For veggies also there are lot of options to choose from the menu. Serves drinks and one suggestion music could be much better while dinning. Playing instrumental track would really life the mood while have food. Must visit once to experience..
Kiran Puranik
I love Chinese food, we opted here for buffet. We found not much variety we found....taste was average............can visit for one time....
Sameeksha Raina
A place with beautiful ambience with some delicious Chinese and oriental cuisine to offer. The staff is quite knowledgeable about the preparation of dishes and can really help you in decision making of what to order and what not. ;)<br/>Deducting 1 point for for not serving hot food and for finding solid pepper seeds in Thai chilli chicken.<br/>This place is good for peaceful dinners where you don't want to be surrounded by huge crowd and loud music.
Bhavya Rastogi
Good food and ambience.<br/>The ambience and lights of the place are lovely. Delicious Chinese food and varieties in menu. Good cocktails too. Service is nice and prompt. Loved the overall experience of dining.
Jeevesh Kutty
It was a different experience and shooters were awesome. Didn't have food much but whatever starters I had out there was exquisite. The ambience and the crowd was good with a variety of english pop music's

It is one of my favorite places to eat in Pune. I intend to try everything on their menu. Everything here is brilliant. Including their beer which they brew.<br/>If I were to have a meal which consists of my favorite dishes here, they would be :<br/>I first empty the side salad they provide which I find extremely delicious and fill it up once more to have it with a mug of their home brewed Apple cider beer with a pan fried fish starter after which I'd have the Thai chicken red curry and basil rice to top it off.<br/>They also have enough number of tvs to watch a football game in peace. Or if it's a more vibrant and loud scene you're looking for, you only need to go to the back of the restaurant to their pub!<br/>
Rudi
What a positive surprise.<br/>We found a nice Chinese Restaurant with a stylish ambience, good drink options and very tasty food.<br/>The service was prompt, very polite and also professional, what you miss in most other restaurants in Pune.<br/>From the food plate I'd recommend the Konjee Lamb. It was exceptional and better than the others in Pune.<br/>Also the Mocktails are great with some other options than only the general stuff also.<br/>This place will surely see us again.
Siddharth Bansal
Oriental story is one of the better restaurants in baner. We ordered Thai red curry, vegetable noodles, and pepper prawns. The food was excellent, and potion sizes are good. Shoutout to service, its far better than ANY food place in baner and Balewadi.
Amit Talpade
Good place with great food, have visited 2-3 times and have never disliked anything. Loved that Kari Kapitain, Penang curry, the peppery lemon soup and Nasi Goreng... Momos at Mainland China are clearly better but the ones served here are clearly much better than most other chinese restaurants. Overall convenient location, and prompt and courteous service. <br/><br/>Price wise much cheaper than Mainland China and not as much of a wait as peak time in Mainland China... Definitely Recommended...

We have had quite a few lunches and dinners at KIVA ORIENTAL STORY, BANER.<br/><br/>Nice ambience...Decent staff...Great food - both in quality as well as taste. I have, however, sometimes felt that they serve food in a bit lesser quantity. Price is OK.<br/><br/>However, a serious word of caution here. Sometimes, you might need to wait endlessly for placing your orders and/or getting your orders served. We have experienced both and believe me, they sometimes test your patience to such a limit that I have witnessed people quarrelling and arguing with them and even leaving the restaurant in extreme anger and disgust, without even having tasted the food. They have serious shortage of staff and they often find situations difficult to manage during the peak hours.<br/><br/>Well, I will reveal a secret over here. Once, they had given us a discount of 10 to 15% on the total bill in order to compensate (and also as a token of appreciation for our patience 😂) for making us wait endlessly for, firstly, placing orders and then, delivering on the orders. 😄<br/>They really were in a pressure-cooker situation that night and customers had argued, quarrelled with them and some customers had even left (obviously, not in a jolly mood, as you can easily understand 😁) without having the food. Myself and my wife however, had somehow managed to preserve our patience to the highest possible limit. 😃<br/><br/>Well, now, on serious terms though, the place is really worth giving a try - their snailish service might sometimes be a pain-point; however, barring that, excellent food and ambience would definitely not disappoint you at all.
Christopher Charles
Before I go further, please remember that this is basically a drinking joint with a restaurant attached, and not the other way around!<br/>Having said that you can sit in the front eating part and get into Dim Sums, Schzwan Fish (actually they are Indian and have never seen Schzwan !), Malay, Sumatra and Lombok Curries (in my adventuresome youth I explored all three terrains and believe me the island of Lombok has no unique curries)! For the thinking Chinaman, the promise of Singapore Noodles raises memories of the years when the Straits were polluted with oil slicks and there wasn't any distinction between regular Ol' Noodles and Singapore Noodles! <br/>Forgetting all of these cooked up names, what they cook up is really good! Go there and drink a Singapore Sling along with a tasty meal!

Nice Ambiance Prompt service, really delicious oriental food, Very good place to visit with family as well as friend get together because they serve perfect cocktails, mocktails, 4 different flavors of fresh drought beer apple cider is my favorite beer, very nice beer with smart bartenders.

There are some others that would join you on the table here. "The Flies". Enjoy their company with some lame sweet fresh lime water that is actually very salty!

Went there on 24th Dec with Managers of company. Ambience was awesome. Starter is good I tried Paneer chilly dry was awesome. Music was awesome. Worth visit the place. Service is good. If you are going with colleges & friends please visit great place to treat & fun.

A friend and I took an impromptu decision to visit Oriental Story. Turned out to be an amazing decision. Not only was the ambiance just perfect for the kind of talking while eating we had planned, they had some good music on and the lighting was just perfect, the service was really one of the best we have had in Pune. <br/>Our food arrived within minutes of ordering. No hovering around servers and very helpful captains. <br/>But the cherry on the top was the dessert that the captain offered to us on the house, because we had come for the first time. The honey glazed noodles with ice cream were the best end to our amazing evening. Thank you Oriental Story
Dattaraj Bodke
Good Asian flavours . Lovely ambience. The staff is nice. The only thing I found negative is the quantity to cost. Or maybe it's just me being very hungry ...

I was recommended Kiva Oriental Story (KOS) by a friend for awesome Asian Dishes which were considered worth your money in terms of taste as well as quantity and after visiting the place I completely agree with my friend. Since my first visit I have been looking forward towards my upcoming visits to this place. <br/><br/>Till date I have tried the following dishes. <br/>Khow Seuy - KOS's Khow Seuy is definitely the best one I have ever had.  Vegetable Curry ,enriched with flavor of coconut milk and mild spices, served with mildly flavored noodles. The side garnishing comprised of perfectly burnt onion and garlic , lemon , spring onion greens raises the flavor of dish one level up. <br/>American Chop Seuy - This was the worst American Chop Suey I ever had which was completely bland with no sourness , sweetness , salt or any other flavor. But on one request this was replaced with a better dish. Really loved their service and will to put customer first no matter what. It was unlike many famous places that I visited who take the customers so very much for granted.<br/>Malaysian Curry -  Spicy noodles served with a vegetable curry having flavors which complimented the coconut milk.  I liked it but Khao Seuy is my favorite. <br/> <br/>Tofu with peanut Sauce  - I loved the peanut sauce with crunchy peanuts in it. But i wish if I could get some more crunchy sauce to cover the tofu completely as tofu in itself dint much flavor. Tofu tasted good only crunchy peanut sauce.  <br/>Laksa Soup  - I really liked the soup with coconut flavor and crunchy vegetables. Never thought I would ever enjoy coconut flavor so much. <br/><br/>Service - The staff is very welcoming , helpful and polite.  They served food on our plates calmly unlike some other restaurants were the staff just bangs the dishes on your table. <br/><br/>Ambiance  -  Quite warm and cozy with dim lights , rustic ceiling and some good music.

After searching a good restaurant on Baner road for half an hour we ended up here...must say a very good decision. It was Saturday, place looked full but we were lucky to get a table..awsome food..classic ambience..tried Phad Thai noodles..which are really nice..Management can improve the service that's the only negative.

Had been on my wishlist from a long time.. Finally made it :-D and it was worth the wait! A small subtle simple restaurant.. This is the best one from the kiva franchise. Ambience is peaceful! Dim lights, nice soothing music and the paintings on the wall.. Everything gives you a very homelike feeling! Ambience goes hand in hand with the cuisine.. Thai and Chinese, just amazing.. Be it the rice paper roles, prawns, American corn fried rice.. Just perfect! Dishes are very well balanced, sauces aren't too toxic.. Feels good on the palette.. Best place in baner for Chinese and Thai!

Visited this place sometime back. Went there for a friend's birthday party.<br/>The place is nice, ambiance is appealing with dim lights, specially those wall paintings. It does gives a very good first impression.<br/>Coming to the food, we took chicken clear soup and drums of heaven for starters. The soup was too good, light and clear with a punch. Nothing special about the drums of heaven though. <br/>Next for the mains we took plain Hakka Noodles and Chili chicken as few were not interested to try something new after a tiring day. Really loved the noodles and chili chicken was between the alley. <br/>Vanilla with chocolate sauce never dissapoints as desert and this time was no other story.<br/><br/>Overall, had a pleasing experience and a definite recommendation.

Lovely ambience.. We tried Talumein chicken soup , fragrant prawns both were too good. Malay chicken curry is something i would highly recommend. All in all a nice place for oriental cuisine.

I've been to kiva oriental story a few times now and decided to write a review after today's visit. I've also ordered in quite a few times. Of course, going there is better. It's a pretty straightforward Chinese and Thai place with average interiors. I don't know if they were going for the hipster look but the interiors aren't finished. <br/><br/>So here are the things I ordered today and my opinion. <br/>Konjee crispy lamb - very nice <br/>Veg momos - horrible horrible horrible. <br/>Chicken Thai green curry with steamed rice - you'll live with it <br/>Ice tea - not to my taste but okay <br/><br/>This place is perfect if you want to drink a lot of beer and have good food. For authentic Chinese, go somewhere else.<br/><br/>Also, I've found myself leaning towards the Chinese part of menu.

Went here for a friends bachelor party. The place is a little hard to find. The first impression was good. The ambience felt great with dim lighting and some excellent posters and grafiti on the walls. Live matches on tvs make it much more awesome. In starters we ordered buffalo wings , fries and another starter. All were good , buffalo wings winning the contest. We ordered them again :P in main course we ordered chicken handi which was good too. Mocktail were not so good. All in all, a very good experience.

Pad Thai is my signature/judgement dish. Unfortunately, the pad thai here tastes more like a baskin Robbins flavor. No sprouts, which is the secret ingredient.<br/>

There's just one reason that has got me here always - Fresh Brew and their special Fish Starter. You can try the Pale Ale or German Dark Beer spend some nice time.. Thats it

After roaming around for 5 Kms, decided to have dinner finally at Oriental Story. The Ambiance of the place is very good. Decent spacing between tables meant that you can have a sense of privacy in this place.<br/><br/>Food - Tom Yum soup was excellent. Crisply Corn Chilli pepper was very good, the "khada" black pepper could be a problem for some. It was served in a bowl made of some kind of crispy pastry. Even though I'm not a fan of flat noodles, I liked the Drunken flat noodles. Manchurian was decent.<br/><br/>Service was excellent. Took really good care of us.<br/><br/>VFM - A tad on the higher side.

We visited kiva for trying out Hakka noodles and soups both were decent and not expensive. Ambience was decent and easily accessible on Baner road

Ok place. Nothing great to expect. Make a note that buffet is no longer available. Fresh brew was good though. They sure have to work on quantity of the food part.

Decent place, great food. Had Chicken Thai green curry and some crispy garlic fried prawns. Can't complain about anything. Service was good too.
Apoorv Garg
Poor preparation. Basic foods like spring rolls and veg manchurian were pathetic. Dumplings were not crispy at all and spring rolls were like samosa of local street vendor. Literally pathetic. Ambience is good.

The place looks apealing to the eyes from the outside as well as the inside !! The interior is really done well if you dont put your eyes to the ceiling. The dining tables are spacious and the issue of privacy is taken care of !!<br/>The food is good but not that great ... The soups were lacking salt and the starters weren't also that great ... But do order the chicken in oyster sauce if you ever happen to go to this place !!<br/>I'm not a dessert person so i won't comment... But the brownie on the other table looked really amazing !!<br/>I would recommend you to visit this place atleast once !!<br/>Peace out !!

When you get fresh brewery and the Chinese food together that's formidable.I would not say that they serve authentic Chinese food but they serve the Chinese food which we Indians like the most, and they make it very fine.Only problem with the restaurant is that the tables have lights on your head it literarily feels like third degree :P.Thai food is also good and can be tried specially there curries. All in all a good place to visit.

Hotel had an decent ambience to enjoy with good music played...they have wide varieties to offer in Chinese as well as in oriental..Their service was good we do not have to wait much..but a bit costly..not in terms of monetary side..but considering overall ambience food taste and service...Chinese lovers must visit at least once..

Had visited this place on a lazy sunday afternoon at 2.40pm. We were surprised to see the restaurant almost empty. The waiter handed over the menu card to us immediately and said, " Please give your final order, we are about to close!!"<br/>Water was served 7 mins after the menu card was handed over.<br/><br/>Everyone in the restaurant were staring at us, as though asking us when are we leaving. <br/><br/>The Burnt Garlic noodles were literally BURNT. I guess the chef took the name too seriously!! :) Never tasted Burnt garlic so well done (well burnt i mean).<br/><br/>The food is bad, and the service is even more worse.
MeetTheFoodie
Great place good ambience...service was quick And yum food...mainly oriental cuisines..we ordered chilly spicy chicken, honey corn potato and momo for starters...coriander lemon soup in soup section and in main course thai red curry with basil chicken fried rice...paisa wasool performance...the veg section is also decent..profiterlo and sizzling brownie to end the food journey..overall rating..a must visit..

One of the best authentic Chinese restaurant in baner area.. little heavy on pockets but taste will make you forget that thing... Nice hotel.. quality of food is good.. ambience is nice..

If you are in a mood for authentic chinese dinner, please drive to this restro! The ambience compliments the restro so beautifully and totally is the way a chinese restro is expected to be- dim lights and chaos free ambience with beautiful decor.. The service is quick and the food preperation is great.. The staff was somewhat rude- placing the cheque without asking for it (We had just finished out dessert, give us a minute to settle atleast), is something I want to pinpoint! Since I liked the food and the feel of the place, I chose to overlook that single drawback.. A must try for people who love this cuisine!
Ankan Chatterjee
Very nice thai and chinese cuisine with a humble ambience. Service on a weekend is attentive and polite.Overpriced if compared to the ambience where I personally feel a lot more is possible.

I loved this place and the ambience..if you are looking for authentic and delicious oriental food..this a place you should not miss.<br/>They even serve craft beer( Apple, Dark wheat and German Beer)<br/>Mr. Vinay served us the food and his suggestions very really nice.He is a very friendly person and serves u with a smile..<br/>Must try Chicken in Basil sauce, Burnt garlic rice and shredded chicken with pepper in garlic sauce

I love the Sunday brunch here! This is one place that does not dilute the quality of the buffet dishes like other places. It's as good as its a la carte. A crisp and tasty fare. And yes, of course, the brews make it even better!
Knives N Forks Monologues
This was on my wish list for long. Post the visit. I repent adding it to the list. Food was no where close to good. To get rid of the taste ordered a mojhito, n that bought my experience further low. SWEET it was. <br/>Staff was hurrying to close it for noon. Buffet dishes were not refilled. 😒

Went to the restaurant last week with family. Service was good and so was food. Buffet lunch was available for 399/- seems to be value for money though we chose to order from the menu.<br/><br/>Food was good but Momos need a bit of improvement as it was bland
Sourodeep Chakravarty
My overall experience was very good... there are a lot of places in Baner now and this one really stands out.<br/>The taste very long lasting, we ordered Burnt garlic noodles, chili basil mushroom and roasted chilli chicken. I must say the noodles and mushroom were one of the best I had in Pune. A must go place for all who like to taste something different than regular good spicy oriental dishes.
Shiksha Chourasia
I had dinner at Oriental Story on a Saturday. The place has a calm ambience and seemed popular in the area. We ordered Honey chilly potato, Veg manchurian and Veg Hakka Noodles. All three dishes were good in taste and quantity was more than expected.

UPDATE: They have removed BUFFET option form their menu. <br/>Amazing Chinese food, awesomely different ambiance and value for money are few adjectives that are apt for this place. We recently had our team lunch here. We were group of 12 and we opted for buffet option. Varied choices and value for every dish. I tasted both veg n non veg dishes and all were fresh and delicious. This place offers you most authentic of soups you will ever have in Pune. Main course was varied again with garlic burnt noodles, rice and chicken with basil curry. They have this amazing range of Sauces and salads with each having different yet delicious taste. Once all this is done, they serve you with mouth watering desserts on the seat. It guarantees you leave the place sleepy but brownies, milk icecream and honey noodles have that effect on anyone at any time of day. A must go for Chinese lovers. Only thing I felt they could improve is service which is a touch slower but hard to judge with group of 12 on table.<br/><br/>Highly recommended..

I went for the brunch which is just for Rs. 399. This is a very good deal if you're confused what to eat or want to try them for the first time. In this , they serve you the starters and there were many options in both veg and non veg. I was already full by the time I was done with starters. Even if you don't eat much from the main course then , it's fine . I just had one veg curry with the noodles in the main course. The desserts were really good too. One was the brownie and the other was honey glazed noodles. The service and ambience was very good as well. <br/>

Awesome Chinese nearby Wakad. Would definitely go again pretty soon. Would highly recommend this place. Although the interior still needs work but what matters more is food which is delectable.
Saurav Samantaray

Helpful staff, great food and good ambience. Perfect place for a calm meal and conversation. Do try the lemon and coriander soup. It's amazing.

Its a nice warm cozy place. Best part is  unlike Kiva.. it is less crowded & they have some good chinese food to try. so if you like chinese, you will definitly like this place. service is ok. It was not too aggressive nor too slow. Overall a good place to have fun.
Aatish Arora
Pleasant ambience serving some good beer and palatable oriental food, make Oriental story a must visit if you are in Baner. The thai curries are a must try. So is the orange flavoured chicken if you would want to be a little adventurous.

Must try place..a good place for people who love chinese.<br/>They serve momos..very nice presentation to give you natural feelings<br/>Lemon coriender chicken soup is another unique attraction<br/>Again price is little high to match metrocity budget
Atul Marathe
Won't mention their offers correctly.... 399 is just for buffet....every where it is mentioned as 399 for unlimited food and beer..but it is 399+399 when inquired...
