Amazing Malaysian Veg food !!! I love this place and it is spooling me it is 200 meters from my residence . Try their fish dishes as well they are very good .one of the best in pune !!
I live in mumbai but eat here every week!
Its a must try for people who like chinese food. I visited it last week.. we had the pan fried fish for starters which is really tasty. For the main course we had burnt garlic rice with prawns in xo sauce and chicken with basil & thyme.. do try the xo sauce very delicious. I like the wall paitings. Gives a good feel..
Authentic chinese food has always been my weak point and oriental story is another brilliant option that has got added in my hotel list. Visited this place for dinner with friends and couldn't be more happier.
Ambience and service:
Entire restaurant has a Chinese theme with beautiful hanging lampshades, paintings, wooden furniture style and four cornered dish arrangement( squarish dishes). Service is warm and welcoming with staff giving some good suggestions for first time customers. Attitude and serving style both very professional.
Food:
Soup: We started with the Chicken Tom Kha soup. Consistency was great with little thickness and some interesting flavours coming from the vegetables.
Starters:
Chicken Manchurian: Chicken juicy and cooked perfectly. Sumptuous dry gravy was finger licking compliment.
Thai vegetable spring roll: Sufficient amount of filling and good thing was it was not dry. Enjoyed it with fresh schezwan chutney.
Main course:
Chicken in chilli garlic basil: Delicious gravy and succulent chicken.
Massaman curry: Coconut flavoured gravy was mind blowing and had tremendous flavours infused in it. Splendid use of different spices and masalas.
Burnt garlic fried rice and hakka noodles: As you would expect in any authentic Chinese hotel.
Desserts:
Sizzling brownie and darsan:
The showstoppers!!!!! Sizzling brownie with hot chocolate sauce nothing more to ask for. Darsan was ice cream with honey glazed friend noodles. Pretty unique concept!!!
So with tummies overfull and big smile on face, a fantastic dinner was concluded. Highly recommended for Chinese foodies. Pricing is also correct compared to food quality and ambience.
Food 4.5/5

Just wow!! I loved it so much that I am writing a review on the way back itself. Had Rainbow soup which was PERFECT.. Scezwan noodle was YUMM. Best thing was the decor. It was an awesome dinner. Please do visit.
If you're with friends and you really don't wanna take chances, trying to find the best place for food, take them here. This isn't the best but it is quite safe. It was a really nice experience with very professional staff. The food was, well, Chinese. The clear soup was godlike. I've had better dim sums. The rice was good but dry, get some gravy. I'd ask for a suggestion as to what to have with what you've had in mind. Overall, I'd go here again.
Good place. Food is very good. Ambience is good. Service is very good. Easy access. Friendly staff. Burmese khaosui is a must try. Try the Thai food menu.
My chinese tastebuds were tingling so decided to try this hotel on a pleasant afternoon... Good ambience not too shady not to crowded... As it was afternoon there was hardly any rush... We had some lemon coriander soup followed by some burnt garlic chicken fried rice... Nd i must say that i was very much satisfied with their taste presentation and quantity... This is like the less costlier version of mainland china... If u are in baner and want to try some good quality Chinese then this one is a must try...
Cheers!
Kiva Ivy and Oriental Story have been around for over 2 years now and they’re surely the places you’d want to be when you are on a budget of less than 1500 INR for two people, for a complete Chinese meal experience. Both these places have a kitchen but separate menus to keep everyone happy.
Of course, Oriental Story as the name suggests serves Chinese cuisine which is done to finesse and suit most of the Indian taste palates. It is not Desi Chinese and you’d certainly not expect that bit if you would. Across the length of Baner Road, this is the only upmarket Chinese restaurant that is not expensive, serves filling food too.
I tried most of the classics here which are top selling and done to perfection. You’ll love the Crispy Fried Jade Chicken, which is coated with crispy fried finely chopped spinach – one of the better Fried Chicken dishes you’d enjoy in a long time.
The Vegetarians will love the Veg Dim Sum because it comes with a really good stuffing of Tofu, Mushrooms, Cabbage and Carrots. There is an array of Sauces which are served juts before you start your meal. They make an in-house XO sauce which is one of the finest ones in Pune if you’re looking for something really authentic without the use of authentic ingredients per se. They use Bombay Duck and S to make their XO Sauce.
The mains included a list of classics and top selling food again – Hunan Chicken with Singapore Noodles, they’re a nice match because the Hunan Chicken is mildly spicy and the Singapore Noodles tend to be sweet.
Then there’s another match you’d want to consider, primarily for vegetarians – Tahitian Exotic Veggies along with Burnt Garlic Fried Rice with/without Egg. The Tahitian Exotic Veggies might not be your choice if you don’t like Cinnamon and Nutmeg dominating flavours. But it is one of the top selling dishes here so you still might want to try. Pair it up with something salty and spicy so it isn’t primarily sweet on your palate.
I tried the Classic Date Pancakes which are crazy good, served warm, with a scoop of Vanilla Icecream – you’re pretty much sorted for a fine dessert.
To talk some more about Kiva Ivy, they’ve done their classics perfect again. The ones you’d definitely try are the Apple and Hazelnut Martini and the Mojito. The Apple Martini is really packed with flavour and hazelnut with apples is a really great flavour combination.
The Mojito of course, as we know, is a classic and the reason I highly recommend it here is because there is perfect amount of alcohol to it. Many of those bars forget the alcohol factor and it almost becomes like a Virgin Mojito. That won’t happen here.
There’s some good bar snacks on the menu but the one you must try is the Crispy Asian Sweet Corn Chaat with Capsicum, it is one of the very fine bar/cinema foods there is. I won’t mind gorging on those while I am watching a movie either, haha! Of course, there is a lot more on offer but mainly the way classics are done. So you’d not hesitate to ask them for your choice of appetizers that they have.
FoodProwl team was invited for Food tasting event at Kiva - Oriental Story. What appeals once you enter this place is eye-catching Chinese character all across on the walls. Immediately you are transferred to typical China environment due to the ambiance around.
Next thing which catches your attention is small sauce platter which has six different portions of sauces. The idea here is you can taste them and choose them for your main course.
We were served lot of options out of which worth mentioning were
Fish in Black Bean Sauce ,Pork Spare Ribs in Honey Chili Basil , Crispy Fried Jade Chicken,Peach iced tea and Date Pancakes.
Other food items we had were Singapore Noodles, Moon Pan Rice , Burnt Garlic Fried Rice with Egg, Plum Sauce with Chicken, Dice Vegetable & Almond in Mild Garlic Sauce and
Xo Sauce with Prawns.,Baby Corn Mushroom Salt & Pepper
Dim sum Prawns ,Chilli Paneer ,Dim sum Veg ,Egg Drop Noodles Soup and Lemon Coriander Baby corn Soup. These food items were not bad but will need some more efforts to make them best.
Overall it was a decent experience this place has certainly a potential to serve good oriental food .Wil definitely try this place after some days once again.
Its along baner road opposite to veritas. Though its a busy road once you enter inside... You enter into a pleasant aura of the restraunt .. its really cosy...
The service is top notch.. and the food... Man the food. 😍
I love the khow suey.. here... The taste is so.. authentic... And i would still rate the khow suey here as the best of all ive tasted..
Was here for an office lunch party once.. and once with a friend.. loved the food both times veg nonveg...
Wonderful experience.....
I have always loved the Chinese food here. It's closest to authentic Chinese and for me much better deal than mainland china. Burnt garlic rice and Hunan sauce with khau-say remains my all time favorite here.
The only change I felt is, they have reduced the quantity of food they serve.
This place has very good ambience , with good food , polite staff.
They have dishes from different countries.
They serve a good authentic Chinese food , as well as thai etc.
Walls are well painted which gives a different ambience.
Chicken burnt garlic rice with prawns
was really tasty.
Sauces with appetizers were too tasty.
I would rate this place as very good.
