Review Mughlai Zaika - Pune

At the first glance this restaurant caught my attention. They have a much refined interior and exterior. The outdoor seating makes it more cozy and comfortable. The hospitality is really good. Me and my colleague went for non vegetarian menu. The food was lovely. Overall it is a great option to visit with your family and friends.

The place isn't that fancy but the food is simply awesome. For Non Vegetarians, do try the Chicken Changezi for its amazing smokey and cheesy flavour. And ofcourse our all-time favorite Chicken Tikka. Amazing flavour. Service was not that great but the food was amazing.

Mashallah we are her with a group of 13 people. The food was delicious. Friendly staff and clean kitchen.. .. the Chef knows to cook..

Awesome food specially murgh musslam and amazing service great taste

Really comfortable ambience, Persian decor added with Persian music. The food is delicious and value for money. The staff is friendly and caters to the customers needs by patiently listening. The menu covers vegetarian and well as non vegetarian Mughlai food. Never too crowded and has parking space for two wheelers.

Loved the food, especially Butter Garlic Chicken Drum sticks. Though service is slow and multiple times we had to remind waiters about our order. Will definitely visit next time for biryani!

It was a treat. Clean cutlery and okay atmosphere and high pricetag aside, the food, which matters most, was delicious. We ordered mutton biryani, among other things. The aroma of the rice and spice was flawless. The mutton dissolved in my mouth leaving a rich taste. I am going again. I encourage anyone else to do so as well, so long as you dont mind their prices. Oh and the quantity was fairly good but the waiter did not return to serve second time. Or else itd be a 5 starrer.

The chicken tandoori is more than decent and the chicken tikka roll is also worth having. The gravy items tend to be a little higher on the spice side. They're not spicy on the palette but the spices tend to overpower the flavour of the main ingredients. Overall a nice and quiet place with some ambience.

Uff ! where do i start from ? Burnt rotis or tasteless and half cooked chicken mughlai. Even after giving clear insutruction. Also i had ordered cold drink which was not sent either , poor ZOMATO valet had to go back and get it . No worth spending so much for burnt and tasteless food .

I wanted to use Gold offer for a fish dish and a chicken dish, but the restaurant said that the fish items are not included in the Gold offer.<br/>The fish item looked good, but didn't have taste in it. Moreover, the biryani I ordered wasn't tasty.

The worst place to order from. They have their own delivery service. Be rest assured, your food will be there within 2 hours. I had to wait for an hour and 15 minutes. The delivery guy didn't come to my street as it's usually done. He called me from 5 minutes away for directions. Zomato couldn't help me with any thing here.<br/>Also, They give bite size food for premium prices<br/><br/>*edit: I've changed my rating from a 1 star to 3 stars, because although the quantity and delivery time was not up to the mark, the taste was reasonably good.

Visited late night around 10 pm. The restaurant was empty. ordered biryani. they took a long time to serve. First, con is that they don't have any salan. Biryani was not that good quantity was also less. won't think will eat biryani or anything else here again.

We ordered chicken tikka and chicken dum biryani... I would rate taste quality of chicken tikka at 4 and dum biryani 2.5 dum biryani is way too dry and increase the quantity of raita served with biryani ...for chicken tikka, the number of chicken pieces is less and size is small too... Now the condition of the hall where you eat is not clean since I saw cockroaches around... so on overall basis, there is a huge scope of improvement

Chicken shwarma taste was really bad. Restaurant has some stringent smell of dhoop or some incense sticks. Overall waste of money and a bad experience

Chicken Akbari was beyond expectations! Juicy and tender drumsticks of chicken in medium spicy gravy. Perfect!!

And really, the tandoor starter I had there was looking bright red, but not a single shade of red remained on my fingers after having eaten it, unlike most restaurants wherein the fingers are stained for a few hours after eating anything red.<br/><br/>Now let me elaborate on each of the aspects of the review meticulously:<br/><br/>1 - Food:<br/><br/>I have already briefly spoken about the quality, authenticity, and freshness of the food. To expand:<br/><br/>- I had both Chicken and Paneer starters; both were amazingly well cooked and well presented. I have seldom had paneer that's so well marinated. Usually, it's bland on the inside, but this one was well-done. <br/><br/>- My main course included Mutton and Prawn dishes; Dabba Gosht & Goan Prawn Curry. Both the dishes we had were dishes that not many restaurants get right. Dabba gosht being a Mughlai specialty is only available in a few authentic restaurants, and this place got it right. I was surprised at the freshness of the prawns, as usually in landlocked cities like Pune, sea-food isn't as great as it is in a city like Bombay. I am from Bombay, and yet, I was super impressed with the freshness of the prawns and the overall preparation of the dish.<br/><br/>- The bread we had, included; Butter Lachcha Paratha | Tandoori Roti | Naan; each of them, was soft, tasteful and freshly made.<br/><br/>- Our desserts comprised of some of the best dishes a Mughlai joint can offer; Shahi Tukda, Gulab Jamun, Dhoodhi Halwa. All of them were amazing, and if you have a sweet tooth, this is the place to enjoy your post-meal sweets.<br/><br/>Over-all, it is definitely a good food experience!<br/><br/>2 - Service:<br/><br/>Fast and Prompt<br/><br/>- The waiters were polite and well-spoken. They were not uninterested and were genuinely hospitable. The uniforms of even the B-level staff [the juniors who only serve water] were also clean and well-maintained. I usually have a huge problem when waiters serve water and/or food and have body-odor and stinking or unwashed uniforms, but this place got that right too.<br/><br/>- Even though we were a family of 12+ people and a few of them were vegetarians, the waiters were sensitive and mindful of the segregation, and we only had to tell them the bifurcation of who is veg and who is non-veg, once!<br/><br/>3 - Ambiance<br/><br/>Bright, Clean and Premium<br/><br/>- The approach to the place is right at the main road, and hence, it's not difficult to find.<br/><br/>- The whole place, from the entrance to the washrooms, is extremely well lit. so there is no dingy, shady feeling at all.<br/><br/>- The chairs and tables are new and well-maintained. the roof is high, giving it an overall rich feel.<br/><br/>- There is no smell, smoke or noise in the place and one can enjoy a peaceful meal with their family. Got to know about this place last month and visited this place twice since then. I must say this is a gem in viman nagar. They serve delicious food. And have been consistent in their taste the times i have visited. Their paya soup is a must try. Do try their drumstick stuffed with kheema and chicken akbari and dabba ghost. Its very tasty. It has good ambience and staff is very polite and helpful. And MZ special biryani is worth every penny. I will definitely go back to try their special raan which.

We were two of us searching for some quick indian food and some biryani, while searching in zomato we came across this place. Decent place with good biryani. Menu has very good variety and priced well. Only the thinks need to look after is Hygiene.

Good place, good food.<br/>Since they were celebrating 2 years of "Mughlai Zaika", I was lucky enough to bump into the place, only to get "doodhi ka halwa" as complimentary.<br/>Trust me, that doodhi ka halwa is worth dying for. If you close your eyes, and try to feel the taste, you wouldn't realize that it's a lauki ka halwa, you would infact feel that it's a gajar ka halwa.<br/>Hatts off to the chef, hatts off to their hospitality..!<br/>Totally worth it..!

The cuisine of the place is its USP. It's seriously the best mughlai cuisine restaurant in Pune. Was really craving for some authentic shawarma and was surprisingly not dissapointed here. I haven't found any other mughlai place as good as this one. You guys are a life saver. Thanks for this.

Ordered chiken tandoor and chiken dum biryani. Tandoor was ok. For biryani I should say it was salt biryani..Not even eat one bite. Had to sleep hungry 😢

This place I visited is really outstanding, tried Afgani kebab , Dalcha rice , Raan rice as well as Chinese dishes as was with family , mind blowing atmosphere, friendly staff and food was next to delicious . Every person who's stays in pune must visit here once .

And not to top that they have added chinese in thier menu and it is just too good. The chilli chicken is even better than what is served in a proper Chinese restaurant. Tried their chicken shawarma once by seeing so much good reviews but didn't njoy as there was hardly any chicken piece in it. Too much of yogurt garlic sauce added. Not worth of money spent on it..

Was drawn to the place because of the name they honed. Obviously. <br/>But was extremely let down by the dishes they served in name of Mughlai. <br/>They were cooked in Maharashtrian spices, had Maharashtrian flavour to the entire serving. They just rebadged the stuffs in Mughlai nomenclature. <br/>Worst thing- Their Shami kabab. I believe they need to first need to see what shami kabab looks like. And IT’S NOT WRAPPED IN AN EGG.

Have visited this place a few times and every time the food tastes delicious. Have mostly ordered chicken dishes like chicken handi, chicken patiyala, mughlai chicken and the chicken is always cooked well (soft and tender). The only reason for 3 stars is the ambiance, the price and the quantity of food. Chicken handi gets you only 4 pieces of chicken and the portion is very less.

If I rate the restaurant in terms of food it is by far the best restaurant for non veg food . Taste is fabulous n awesome.<br/>However when it comes to service at restaurant or even when you order food for delivery at home it is the worst restaurant in pune. Service is so poor that your order takes min 1 hour , dey don’t even ask u water for first 15-20 mins . <br/>While delivering the food for home also , they take atleast 1.15 hour even if your home is in 4 kms range and they show delivery time on Zomato as 35 mins however they take double the time to deliver .<br/><br/>So if u wanna eat at this restaurant make Sure you have ample time , but the delay n all is worth waiting for due to the awesome taste of food

Visited this place yesterday night with one of my friend. Tried even going somewhere but felt trying here as because of food. <br/>As per the name of this restaurant is concern giving to your eyes satisfying and your palates a mouth watering. Food was really awesome though tried a few dishes as being a hungry. Their kebabs were really lip smacking and then done up with the biriyani that's taste was also good. Expecting food is to be served more quickly as it was taken more time to serve. <br/>Though overall experience was nice. Would definitely like to come again.

Food is incompetent. Ordered Shammi kebab wich was deep fried in egg and one can smell that egg in it. When complained they said this is how they make it, totally unprofessional . PS: Please learn to make kebabs or else inform the customer in advance before ordering.

This place looked quite promising to me and was on hurry but wanted to grab on something. But it was absolutely horrible.<br/>I ordered paneer shawrma<br/>It was all cold secondly , the roll was made up of not the Indian bread but with the falafel bread.<br/>No herbs , spices or sauces used inside . It was only onion and stake chewy paneer.<br/>Never go to this place .<br/>They charge so high but the taste , quality is vain.<br/>Couldn't take pictures as I was so upset with this place just Walked away.

I had ordered chicken shawarma roll and shahi tukda. Both were well packed and hot. Shawarma roll was good. But the shahi tukda needs a special mention. they had given good quantity of shahi tukda. And it was yummy!! Truly royal mughlai dessert. Thanks team mughlai zaika!

Amazing food!!! Love the Shorbas. Also, they keep adding new dishes on the menu which are amazingly tasty:) Must try the Chicken Tandoori Lajawab.
