Probably the best sweet shop in Pune. I have tried kachori, samosa, dhokla, jalebi, modaks, chocolate sweets, kala jamun, milk cake and kaju katli, and they've never disappointed me. Must visit! :)
Have tried multiple sweets including rheir kaju katli and jalebis.
About jalebis..they are bright orange in color and not crispy but not soggy either..with a perfect consistency which almost melts in your mouth. Must try!
KH is famous for its niche in the market and the franchise in karvenagar is delivering basic stuff to customers.
We have bought stuff many many times and can say that for few delicacies the main unit on Shastri road stocks more quality stuff.
Like all of its cousin brothers and sisters this Kaka Halwai has all of the traditional pallet that has made this establishment a Pune favorite over six generations! Occasionally, I am traveling from my institute, CDSA, from Bhavdhan to Deccan and, in the heat of the summer, get a huge energy lift from the sweets and Bakarwadis ! A mixed review. Love their angoormalai, rasmalai and jalebis. The alu wadi they have is very tasty. The other sweets like pedhas can found anywhere but Kaka halwai has a great variety.
I personally don't like their puranpolis, they are a little dry . And also the samosas, which have cashews or other dryfruits in it. Samosas need to be spicy , that's how I like it and dryfruits give them a sweet appearance.
The Kaka halwai is like a shopee, you can get many packed foods here but I haven't tried it.
The uncle at the counter is friendly but in a businesslike way.
One should try their angoormalai atleast once.
I jus luv their malai sandwich. . Its awesome! ! And even the cut samosas. . Its their famous dish. . Rasmalai.. angurmalai.. malai barfi.. balushahi.. and most amazing gulabjamun! Flawless! !!

It is a regular pit-stop I make during my stay in Pune especially towards the end of my stay. Over the years I have started prefering the Amba (Mango) barfi from here as compared to Chitale Bandhus as it is less sweet. I make it a point to carry along a few kilos for friends and family. All the other sweets sold at Kaka Halwai are equally delicious and taste/quality is second to none.
One of the oldest sweet shops in Pune, that goes back probably few decades.
Used to frequent his shop on Karve Rd in the 80s, when we were staying there. Remember the shop particularly for samosas and jilbi (jalebi).
As regards bringing innovative flavours in barfi, pedha, kaka halwai has probably been more dynamic than the other big name in mithai, Chitale sweets.
His dhokla , suralichi wadi and other namkeen snacks are partciularly good.
The other day while buying pedhe for new car, there were lot of options like kandi pedhe, malai pedhe etc.
The angur malai is also delicious, good for any festival or small get togethers.
In terms of cleanliness, hygiene and decor, kaka halwai is much above the traditional mithai shops .

For sweet lovers, Kaka Halwai is "the" place to step in. Sweets are of excellent quality and delicious in taste. Rosogollas are like authentic Bengali Rosogollas and can be graded "A" without any reservation.
They also sell a variety of snacks and are quite popular among the customers.
Gulab jamuns are fantastic and mouth watering. I typically buy rosogollas and gulab jamuns on a regular basis and fully satisfied with their quality.
However, sometimes I have observed variation in sizes which should not have happened.
I prefer to rate it 3.5
Authenticity was another name of Kaka Halwai sweets. The hygiene and promptness of services is utterly amazing.

Kaka Halwai sweets has many shops in Pune e.g. karve rd, Shastri rd. Near tulashi baug etc. Almost all types of sweets are available with them with reasonable rate. Besides this khara farasan and such other eatables are also available .

I went here once with my dad, and browsed for sweets. The entire time, they were very polite and helpful to us, and helped us choose some new and delicious sweets. So what I basically want to say is that the sweets here are great, but the service and the hospitality is even greater! Please visit Kaka Halwai for a feeling like home, and happy diwali!!!

Kaka halwai is the one of the famous food chain in pune. Their primary focus is on delivering good quality food product with great test in fair amount. Some of the signature products that you must try. Like brsan ladko etc. Also you will find good staff with home delivery options. Well mentioned, clean and hygiene shop.
Superb eatables.. I am part of the third generation that trusts them.Cadbury and kaka halwai are only two legitimate brand for sweet..
