A small outlet inside a building compound, where you'll find healthy food meals, is a go to place for major homely food cravings. This is Ragi Dosa along side Sambhar and Chutney. The food is freshly cooked once you place the order and the taste is good. There are plastic chairs and stools to sit and eat under a shed area.

I visited this place after many years and it is still the same and so are the prices. ( wait, what ? ) You are at Law College Road, you are spending just Rs. 30 for a Set Dosa or Appe or even as low as Rs. 20 for a plate of Idli Sambar. No, the quantity is not minimal it is quite sufficient. This in true sense defines value for money. With that value for money, you will also be accompanied with some mosquitoes and if you visit it at peak hours your ears are open to the traffic vocals of Nal Stop.
Not only that, there is also a library in here.
Ambiance-
Under the massive coconut tree and a bit of greenery all around you sit on the plastic chairs. The ambiance is decent. You can also find dogs in there.
Food-
1) Coffee
The coffee is amazing and so reasonable! I think they use the peaberry coffee that has a very strong taste. Being a coffee lover, I loved it!
2) Set Dosa
The Set Dosa is soft and quite nice. The winner is the Sambar. I did not like the chutney much. The sambar is very different from the other South Indian joints that have a kind of similar ( not same ) taste.
3) Appe
Spongy and succulent.
4) Rawa Idli
It was okayish, but it was not bad.
Overall, the place is going to save a lot of money for you and will make you feel full by eating a variety of flavorsome food items at amazingly low prices!

"Padma (पद्मा) Foods" is one of the place which serves pocket friendly South Indian Snacks form last 25+ years.
It’s a no-frills place run by Kannada brahmin. They have small menu serving fresh homely South Indian snacks ( which bit different then typical shetty style).
In college days we use to call this "Appe Place" and most of time our chit-chat place with friends as it has open air sitout space. Those days we use to order appe and lots of more and more appe with filter coffee.
This time we tried :
- Appe (अप्पे ) : Perfectly cooked Appe are served with "Chutney Pudi + Oil" and Green Pudina Coconut Chutney. "Chutney Pudi + Oil" combination with Appe is mind blowing .If required sambar is avilable on request with appe.
- Tamarind Dosa : One of scarce dosa that has mild tamarind flavours which tickle the taste buds.
- Filter Coffee : Coffee is usually strong. You will need to give instruction as per your preference. I prefer more strong with very less sugar and more milk.
- Set Dosa : Two Set dosa's served with Sambar and chutney.
- Idli Sambar : Bang for bucks two Idli's with sambar and green chutney.
- Toast Sandwich : Toasted sandwich stuffed with spicy subzi made from onion ,tomato and South Indian masala .
Lots of more items has been added recently which I have not tried :
- Ragi Dosa
- Rawa Tomato Dosa
- Bisibele Rice
Outstanding "Appe + Chuntney Pudi, Tamarind Dosa and authentic Sambar" make this place must try that too at reasonable price.
Padma Foods is a very small eatery on Law College Road. Most likely you will miss it while cruising in the Law college road traffic.
A small gate to a society welcomes you to this place. Once inside it slows down your pulse and makes you relaxed.
It was started by a couple about 27 years back. Many celebrities had visited this place. Very recently they have renovated it. Now it spots a nice shade in congruence with tall coconut trees.
Food is good, really good. You will find a verity of south indian items on the menu. And cost... I found it still 27 year old 😊.
You have to come down to this place to experience it on a nice lazy Sunday morning.
And 27 years old authentic South Indian restaurant with a great filter coffee, breakfast items and some beverages too, with some nice ambiance and a very silent place in d heart of the city.

Are you an Appe fan? This straight off head to this place! Nice, big, and fluffy Appes will delight you no ends. The service is quick and the food is delicious to the core.

This place serves south Indian dishes. It is open space with trees around, including coconut trees.
Food is very tasty here. I love the taste of filter. This place is NOT costly.
This is a good place to hangout with friends. It's almost invisible from the main road. The coffee here is. The food served here is good and easy on the pocket. Its a very quiet place.
Padma foods is all about Fresh South indian food, consistent taste, unmissable coffee. A little peace of nostalgia in the ever evolving city.
Eating set dosas here since 1999. Small food joint. Good south indian food. Coffee is also nice.
Very nice coffee and food, not much variety, but good ambience and taste of food.
Nice quiet no-frills place for enjoying south Indian snacks of Karnataka variety and filter coffee.
