After a long years back got a chance to have lunch at durga bhuvan one of the oldest non veg restaurant in pune nearby to kaka halwai sweets (pune). My grand father use to take my dad, and after 10-15 year today got a chance to go again with my dad at this old place, one of the best non veg food you get here the owners 3rd generation is running the business ......especially would suggest Mutton Masala.... The ambience is good.....service is good and then come important part food we had ordered Mini Mutton Thali....which cost u around 250 rs.....which includes Keema plate, Mutton rassa, Biryani plain rice, Mutton Masala, Chapati / Bhakari along with soalkadi.....taste is still the old times it has not changed, mutton cooked with gud amount of spices and masala will highly recommend try once......
I am basically from Mumbai. When visited to Pune first time with my husband he insisted me try Durga's food. I was not very happy with his decision. But when the food arrived and i tasted it, it was one of best cooked chicken dish i ever had. They have quiet good ambiance and also cleanliness is maintained overall. It's a very old hotel with great hospitality. One should definitely try here.

This is one of the oldest restaurant which still serves awesome non-vegetarian dishes. Located near Kaka Halwai, you may have seen the name umpteen times but it is always an exercise to go to this restaurant after crossing the heavy Mandai traffic and crowd and then walking upstairs using the narrow staircase.

Awesome thali. Kheema was slightly greasy but in a good way. We opted for chapatis instead of Bhakris. Which were too good.
Half Mutton Biryani - Mutton nicely cooked and the masala was proportionate to the rice.

We had gone way early in the evening and it was not crowded at all. The typical table bench seating with the counter on the extreme side. Dimly lit but reminds of the prosperity of the olden days. Clean tables and floor.

An old gentleman waited for us. Looked very well versed with the menu and suggested us the items.

This place is located right opposite to Kaka Halwai sweet shop in Mandai Chowk...I visited this place with my friend and we ordered Mutton Masala and bhakri. The dish was served with 2 mutton rassa vati and it was sufficient for two.Mutton was perfectly cooked and gravy had wonderful flavours. Will definitely visit again !!
I went to this place after years and guess the food was just the same. Awesome and yumm mutton thali. very good spicy mutton biryani with yumm and flavourful rassa.

No 1 hotel at Pune since 1975...My elder's used to go very frequently..For all item's, It's a True definition of food preparation...Let it be connected to swiggy or Foodpanda because it's difficult to reach there in heavy crowed...
The best biryani I have ever had... Best in food one of the oldest.. Kheema and everything right from chapatis.. Must visit for every meat craving person.. Sometimes ambience is not everything

This place was introduced to me by my grand father... He used to visit this place to enjoy the finger licking and mouth watering food in his young days... It has maintained the great taste even today... Also the owner of the place treats you with great hospitality and a smile...
Perfect place for Nonveg lover, ambience is not in + side but the food like hmmmm... Try Briyani here too good, with less oil & masla. with good enough chicken. As per my mom says its very old Nonveg hotel in pune. She use to go in her childhood.

Awesome meal whatever the price may be but taste is worth the price. Must visit place for Biryani lovers. Restaurant owner accepts cash only, but again taste makes you forget inconvenience caused.
My first experience with Durga Bhuvan was before the Biryani Explosion in India, in the mid nineties. It had a outlet on Tilak road then, and it was popular with foodies that S.P.Biryani. Highlight of Durga was it's Puneri Signature Biryani, but we had only little to compare with in those days, and the other kind of Biryani in Pune was the Irani style as sold in George or BlueNile.
The Outlet at Tilak Road eventually got shut somewhere around 2010, and I eventually discovered this original resturant in the city
Try their Mutton dishes, and the biryani, like or not like is a matter of individual taste, but surely you will get to eat something different
I love to eating spl chicken biryani here. Test is awesome serve with gravy both are tasty. Paisa wasool biryani must visit 😋😋😋😋
