The Watson Museum, considered to be one of the best among the seven such museums located across Saurashtra (region) and managed by the Gujarat state Government, it has collections of precious objects from the princely State of Rajkot founded by the Jadeja Rajputs. It holds invaluable articles, artifacts, photographs, a reference library and the museum's publication are sold through a counter.

Loved this museum! There was tons of historical knowledge and information. Plenty to show for the history of India and the influences of the British empire. The staff were not the most helpful however the exhibits more than make up for that.

Nice place to visit in Rajkot city centre . It is nearby to Gandhi Museum as well Trikon Baug. A library is just it's opposite side by a trust. There's park to walk n sit on in and around the Museum.

This museum has a great collection of different artifacts. A lot of the collection is 12th century. It is very clean and well kept. Though the upkeep is missing. There are stairs to climb but no disabled or wheelchair access. Overall it's worth a visit.
Jayeshwari Jadeja

Well maintained artifacts, sculptures from history. The museum itself was established in 1988. It is located inside Jubilee Garden. I am sure kids will also enjoy the collection. It may take 30 mins to 2-3 hours based on your interest. Entry ticket is Rs. 5 per person and you need to pay 100 if you want to take photographs inside. There is a small garden and children's play area near around the museum.

Museum is kept well but the surrounding areas should be more clean and appealing

Set up amidst the Jubilee Gardens, Watson Museum is a majestic museum, famous for housing artefacts, handicrafts, pottery, and princely relics dating back to 13th century. The museum is named after a British political agent, Colonel John Watson. Numbers of sections divided into the museums are manuscripts, textile, inscription, sculptures, coins, anthropology, folk embroidery and handicraft, musical instruments, woodwork, natural history and rocks and minerals. Indus Valley Civilization artefacts collected from Saurashtra region, 13th-century temple statues, carvings, memorabilia of Colonial rulers, library paintings and the paintings donated by the neighboring rulers are the highlights of the museums. Since the museum holds some vulnerable articles related to the history, it is all taken care by State Government. Also the museum is deemed as one of the finest and largest wide-ranging museums of Gujarat. Every year, on the second week of January, the museum hosts a weeklong Bhartiya Shilp Samrudhi festival.
