'Locho' is Surat and Surat is 'Locho'! This delicious dish invented by Surti food lovers has made a mark across the world.
Gopal Locho has revolutionised the humble 'Locho' into different fusion varieties while also keeping the authentic one in the offering.
I love to enjoy the original piping hot locho with oil and spicy masala. Another favourite of mine is the white Idada with oil. They also give delicious chutney and onion.
The place is always bustling with food lovers.
Apart from the traditional snacks like Locho and Idada, they also serve snacks like Sandwiches etc

There were a variety of options to choose from and the locho was delicious.
Cream and onion was surprisingly awesome with crushed chips.
Khamani and khaman(addada) were fresh and soft
Pudina in tea gave it an interesting flavour.
They also have instant mix packs for sale.
Overall the locha items were delicious but the other items like locha burger/paneer cheese samosa and the chocolate sandwich could have been better.

We decided to try the Gopal Locho outlet in Surat after reading reviews about it on Google. Visited the outlet which is at a walking distance from Surat Railway Station.
We tried their Green Garlic Locho, Cheese Locho Frankie, Special Cold Coco and Cold Coffee. The Green Garlic Locho is really good - a must try even. The Locho Frankie is a nice fusion but not that great. Cold Coco and Cold Coffee were good. The staff was not very warm, and one had to ask them repeatedly about the order but still they didn't answer properly. Don't know if this was because they had to work during Diwali holidays.
Overall, a good place to try Surti Locho.
A one stop shop to experience Gujarati snacks, Surat style.
Founded in 1987, this is where the locho was invented by mistake (read the story in the review's photo).
And it did not disappoint.
Like every place in Surat, there are a mind boggling number of options for every sort of dish. These people are all about them permutations and combinations.
I tried the green garlic locho. It was melt in the mouth goodness. It's a must have if you're near the railway station.
I wanted another right away but decided to try the patuli which was not the best I've had but not bad either. Both were served with onions, sliced fried masala green chilis and pudina (mint) chutney.
For drinks, I tried the famous Cold Coco of Surat. It was thick and yum. I prefer darker chocolate but for ₹60, it was a pretty neat chocolate milkshake.
To finish I had the masala chaas which was really good, not too masaledar.
They also sell packaged bhakri and some other Gujarati snacks.
All in all, it's a great place to snack. Highly recommended.
Nice place to get wide varieties of Locho in Surat. It’s very near to Surat railway station. Kind of must visit for food in Surat
If you are visiting Surat and you don’t eat locho it’s like going temple and come without darsan . Well it’s only nearest place to railway station and bus station to try and very mouth watering Surti dishes . I tried oil locho and veg cheese hotdog . Both are very delicious and tasty. You can feel the real taste of Surati dishes. If you visit Surat i recommend to you please try it is totally pesa vasul. The price of locho is starting from 30₹ and hotdog from 70₹ and much more food are available like khamni, verity of locho, sandwiches, hotdogs etc.
We used to visit a lot at their outlet in Mumbai, hence were very apprehensive about their outlet in Surat (their home town). We tried Green garlic Locho, as well as Cream & Onion Locho, both of them were good however could be better. We find their Mumbai outlet more better.
Gopaal Loccho is famous for it's Loccho. The quality of God is amazing and they remain consistent over the years. Every time I visit Surat, I have to have it. There are others who have started making Loccho, but it's not as good. I tend to have the Butter Loccho most of the times as this is the original flavor. I am posting photos of their menu if you are interested in other flavors.
One of the famous outlets known for locho, a steamed Gujarati snack originating from Surat. This place serves a variety of locho options, and all of them are delicious. However, my all-time favorite is their original basic oil locho! In addition to locho, they also offer a selection of other snacks such as vada pav, khamni, sandwiches, and more. It's a must-try!
