Udupi Restaurant is my default comfort place for delicious South Indian food at Surat. I have been having Dhosa, Idli, Medu Vada etc here since my childhood and even now the taste and the experience elates me.
My favourite are : Plan Dhosa extra crispy, Idli dip in sambar, vada dip in sambar, mysore masala dosa and curd vada.

Awesome place for authentic taste of South Indian food. Food is nicely serve, good staff. Entire day, it’s open. Might get issue of parking during peak hours, rest fine. Must go to satiate your carvings for South Indian dishes.
Good place for meals... serves south Indian, Chinese and punjabi dishes... Good taste... pocket friendly price range... very quick and good table service, very neat and clean place...
This small restaurant serves authentic and best south indian food. The sambhar was flavourful, coconut chutney was thick and fresh. Masala Dosa and Mysore Masala Dosa were scrumptious. Plain Dosa was little too thin and crispy, almost like a khakhra. But overall, the meal was delectable. Prices are very reasonable, approx. 150/- pp. Service was prompt and staff was courteous. A/C family room was not available, but the meal compensates. They have north indian food on the menu as well.
Four wheeler parking might be a task, so prefer a two wheeler to explore this eatery. Must visit place.
