Review The Yellow Chilli - Thane

Had a good experience at the dinner we had here. The ambience is very calm and good. Coming to the taste of food we had here, the starters were very good to taste, nicely grilled. For the main course, we went in for a combination of Indian bread and gravy dish. Subz panchvati was good to taste and had unique blend of masala whether it was non veg gravy or veg gravy. What stole the show was the biryani we went for, Nizami tarkari biryani. It was wonderful to taste and was quite a good biryani to feed upon. For the dessert, we went in for dark chocolate brownie fudge, I would not say it was not good and also I would not say it was mind blowing. Maybe I had a bit of expectation from it, but it was ok to taste.

One of the best taste of Punjabi food I ever had. Located at Viviana Mall, a popular location at Thane, huge parking, nice and cooperative staff. If you are fond of deserts do try Desert platter consisting of Halwa, Firni, Basundi too good..... Do try enjoy....

I liked the food here. They serve Indian menu only but it definitely lives upto Sanjeev Kapoor standards. We were served complementary fried papad at the beginning. Then we ordered the following dishes: 1) Lemon Cucumber Rassam Soup- This tangy soup is delicious and lip smacking. You'll wish you were served some idli on the side. 2) Samosa Chat- I don't usually order street food in restaurants. This one was decent, not the best I've had though. 3) Chili Cheese Chicken Kebab- these are not spicy so if you are expecting them to be then you'll be disappointed. But we loved how tender the chicken was and the cheese quantity was just right. There was no room in our bellies for main course. Also we were served complementary paan in the end.

Zomato Gold 2+2 on drinks works here. Food was delicious, Juices were good too. They have broken the stereotypes of only serving saunf at the end. Instead they serve a pan specially made for you. For drinks we ordered Peru Pyala (spicy), Tarbooz (sweet) and mint juicy Julep (mint and tangy). And for main course we ordered Nizami Tarkari Biryani. The food was served very fast. With all these dishes ordered, prepared, delivered, and ate in all 1.5 hours time. In all we had a good experience.

Beautiful ambience and amazing food. Tried a few of their Mocktails and chicken starters. Among the starters Angara Lal Mirch Tikki was really great but Chowringhee Chilli Chicken was just average. Place is a little pricey but it's worth the experience.

Three days ago we (family) went to our favorite The Yellow Chilli again at Viviana Mall Thane. The mall, for shopping and The Yellow Chilli for eating is a lethal combination. You can't go wrong. As we are vegetarians we asked the help of Chef. Promptly came out Chef Mayur; a smart guy with signature moustache and infectious smile. He suggested newly introduced Thand Rakh menu with winter specialties. We grabbed the offer. Captain Nagendra took over from there and we started with the welcome drink, table appointments and rolled papad. The chhunda served here is just too good. I keep eating it with papad till the food comes. Good strategy by the management as in this age of mobiles, people have less patience to wait! In came the new Beetroot ki Gilawat; mind boggling it was. We are light eaters and foodies, so we order less dishes and relish them one by one. Chef Mayur made Achari Shalgam Gobhi the way we used to have it in our native Allahabad, yummy. To accompany that was my all time favorite Methi Thepla and hing ke tadke wali peeli daal. I just need sliced onion or mukka pyaaz to go with it. Peru Pyala mocktail came in as this particular drink can beat any wine and food combination. Once done with the main course was the time for meethi mulaqatein. Nagendra brought in Gajrela of in-season red carrots. Again reminded me how my grand father used to make in a long drawn process with natural sweetness of carrots and milk. Less of khoya/mawa and more of natural gajar ka taste. Their new Mukhwas Kulfi is something to die for. Combine that with Gajrela and your meal is complete. I am all set to come again here for rest of the vegetarian offering in Thand Rakh menu. Only request to management is to give a new look to the place as after many visits in last 4 years, there is some fatigue in me for the looks specially the artificial greenery. And why you have removed the seating from the terrace, that's my favorite place to sit and enjoy the food... Kindly put it back. Thank you The Yellow Chilli for serving very different food from the routine and special thanks to Chef Mayur and Nagendra for making our another visit to a memorable one again.

Very nice place to have dinner with family. The ambience is very good and so is the food quality. The service was quick but one thing I noticed was that the menu had kind of limited dishes available in veg courses. Also one thing to note is that the prices are a bit on the expensive side and it would cost around 1800 for 3 people for dinner.

Food quality is good rather very good.. Taste is authentic which you expect in a chain run by star celebrated chef sanjeev kapoor But quantity is less Starters and side dishes are good Main dishes are well thought out and properly balanced Extended family lunch out at Yellow Chilli was a good experience. We tried the Tuesday menu. Good taste, the right balance, not overspiced. Seniors in the group liked it a lot. The spread was good with suitable combinations.

I had visited this restaurant during my recent visit to Kochi for official work,. Amazing experience for me and my colleagues. I have been a regular visitor to this brand of restaurants all over India and it never disappoints me. We visited during lunch and the restaurant was packed , but the staff was very courteous and ensured that we were comfortable. Food no doubt was at its best satisfying our north indian taste buds. Highly recommended place for all .. families, youngsters and corporates. I would surely love to visit again.

Safe for vegans! Some of the best chana masala I have ever put in my mouth. The server assured us that everything is kept separate and my meat eating co-diner and myself could enjoy our meals in perfect confidence. Huge portions! Will definitely be a regular...

This is an amazing place:good ambiance,helpful service,awesome dishes---I liked the tomato basil shorba(subtle but unique flavour ),dahi kebabs(another strange & yummy dish with yoghurt & mango chutney as the only ingredients),shaam savera(a wow dish---never eaten anything like that b4-this is one of the first dishes made by Sanjeev Kapoor ),lalla mussa dal(lentils simmered overnight in cream),gulab jamuns with a filling of gulkhand/rose compote... The imli dates chutney and the papaya chunda served alongside heightened the longing on our tastebuds!!! :D

Fantastic food, especially the maharaja buffet lunch which is just superb, amazing taste and elegant presentation makes the best fine dining in Powai. Quality of food always is top notch. Service is great as well

Vadodara branch... wish I could give it 0 star...Very very bad experience... waiter's and owner attitude was like they are serving for free...very bad quality of food.....the so called "lemon coriander soup" was like vegetables cooked in water without salt or any other spice...very late service and they don't have any shame saying "sir time to lagega" Never recommended...just a waste of money and time...

Sir! A Review and constructive feedback regarding the restaurant at Patiala :- Awesome food but very bad service.even worse than a local tea shop. Staff was in so much hurry that :- They were taking spoon and fork back by shifting the plates even while we were eating in those plates. We didn't ask for the bill but surprised to see it on our table. Even there were not much guests and only 3-4 tables were occupied including ours, we couldn't find the reason for that much hurry. I guess the top management may have fixed the per guest time limit for the staff.

Hello Sanjeev, I have returned back to India after few years.I have visited yellow chilli at Viviana Mall thane (bill no 60909) today. The non-veg food was awful and am I stuck with a stomach ache since evening. I am very sorry to say that your restaurant quality have deteriorate and it is no more what it used to be. I would never recommend your restaurant to any of my friends/knowns. An unhappy customer!!

Nice restaurant, good food, nice ambience Sometimes little noisy, have to book in advance you find crowded on weekends Must try traditional dishes like kombdi rassa in main course , tangra chilli paneer for starter, Service is good polite staff You can also ask chef to cook something out of menu and you will get some tasty surprise!

Have always loved the food here. Great variety and also unique ones. Went for lunch with family and being Sunday got buy 1 and get one free offer on hard liquor. Not bad for a Sunday afternoon..

The complimentary desert gulab jamun was of poor quality at yesterday's dinnerat yellow chilli hotel residency jalandhar.It spoiled the whole taste of food.our whole family disappointed.such things not expected from Sanjeev kapoor's kitchen.

Staff is really courteous and polite and cooperative.<br/>Coming to food we ordered a chicken gravy and tandoori rotis. While we waited for our food we were served with complementary papads. The gravy arrived shortly it didn't take long. It was very delicious and chicken in it was really juicy food was totally as expected. Ordered Shabnam ke Moti and kababwali subzi, both were made in a jiffy and had no taste, the quality of food has deteriorated at this restaurant; the food used to be quite good.

Went here for someone's birthday. The place has excellent kebab option. Do opt for the kebab platter if you want a taste of more options from the food menu. Our servers Basant, Rajendra and Rajib were very helpful and courteous. They even went the extra mile and presented us with a dessert gulab- e gulkand for the happy occasion.

I had visited yellow chilli with my family for dinner and I had ordered Lalla Mussa Dal(which was way too authentic and delicious)Tangra Chilly Paneer(Sweet ND spicy with crisp taste),Papaya peanut kachumber salad(I can just say too good) ,Subz Roohani Biryani( Medium spicy with mix veggies and olives again a delicious one),Cheese Garlic Naan (Fully loaded with cheese and garlic) and blueberry Phirnee(mouth watering dessert),each and every dish I had was way to beyond tasty ND delicious and I must say thanks to Mr.Dubbey ji ( Manager of Restaurant) for suggesting us all this and all servers here have an eye for detail about each and every guest and that is the best part so overall u will get really tasty and delicious food plus attentive and lovely service by service team ,Thanks for the wonderful dining experience I had here,will visit soon♥️

The restaurant is awesome, lovely ambience, Food was exellant, we tried soups Few kababs which was really amazing, Main course we had few Paneer Khada Masala, Lalla mussa Dal and pyaaz Mitch ki Roti, pyaaz matar ke kulche, Food was extremely delicious, later ordered Subz roohani Biryani which recommend by server Rajendra which really tasty and delicious too. Gulabe Gulkand and daulat ki malai in desserts was awesome, The paan was served complimentary Wow it was really amazing. <br/>The service was really amazing Rajendra and Avijit was very courtisious. and suggested nice dishes, Overall great & hygienic Food with Excellent service.

This place is overly priced. They serve 6 small mushrooms garnished with cheese for 500 bucks. Tasteless food. Absolutely bland. Chicken biryani was also average. Don’t just keep increasing prices also increase portion size and flavour. Staff was courteous though..

Good place to hangout with friends.Ambience is gud.Service too is prompt.Was a nice,quiet n cosy place.We had lemon corrainder rasam to begin with ,which was very nice.Starters chana Chor Rikki was suggested by the restaurant staff which too was nice.We had paneer sabzi for main course n had Appam instead of tandoori rotis,which actually went nice with it.I wud certainly recommend this Sanjeev Kapoor' s owned restaurant to dig in.Paan at the end was served complimentary.

One of the Best Outlets to visit with family. All the food items cooked here have optimum oil and spices and is not degrading to health. The Kurkure Macchi was extremely delicious coupled with Galouti Kebab, they were the perfect combination of the starters. The Naan and the chicken was equal delicious and was complete meal. The Ambience is wonderful and a good place to visit with Family and Friendly. 10/10 would recommend.

Viviana mall is a usual hangout place so it was an impromptu decision that afternoon to hop into Yellow Chillies for a casual family lunch... Yellow Chillies is a fine dine place and our visits generally over there are for special occasions. And like every visit of ours the food was really good ... we usually order paneer dishes as my husband loves to eat paneer dishes... however this time along with paneer we order chicken angara starter & awadi chicken biryani ... along with some wine... & the afternoon was perfect. Chicken Angara was tender... spicy and juicy.. beautifully cooked..loved it.. What to say about the biryani ..the aroma itself had flavors that all I wanted to do was dig into that yummy biryani... The places lives upto the reputation of the Owner Chef Sanjeev Kapoor. Service is bit slow... they serve complimentary roasted papad... it helps specially if you are famished..

When you are bored with indian food, but want to try something else, just visit this place in viviana mall, thane, it serves best foods. Also you can try indian foods too.I have tried California grilled chicken flatbread and it was best.

Very courteous staff, bit over priced but very tasty...mutton was soft and not chewy at all it kind of melted in our mouth. Chicken Tikka was juicy not over roasted..it was great.

The soup tasted alright. But the paneer tikka could surely taste better since it was one of the signature items. The Irani lollipops were comparatively better. Garlic butter Naan and Mutton Gosht was really tasty. The paan served in the end of the meal was good too. The service was excellent. The staff was very polite.The ambience was decent too. The taste of the food could surely improve

Please do not try paneer tikka starter here! First of all it’s overly priced on top of that the marinate was completely raw (under cooked), as if they haven’t kept the paneer in the oven/tandoor.

The place is awesome and you get good quality food here. The dishes are different in name and preparations as well. I am basically a vegetarian and the place offers number of options. One must visit once<br/> <br/><br/>The drinks are very unique! The food is mediocre! We watch Sanjeev kapoor on tv so we were very excited to try this place but slightly disappointed. It took long for us to receive the food but the waiter was very apologetic! He gave us free dessert which was nice of him to do. When you check in you get a free dessert by default so make sure to do that! In the mock tails I'd recommend adding alcohol in it they are so good! The food portions are small so they are only shareable amount few people. The restaurant wasn't super sanitary but it was not too bad!<br/><br/>I'd recommend checking in before this place does get super busy!<br/><br/>4 stars for drinks<br/><br/>3.5 stars for the service as it's slow but they are sincere<br/><br/>2.5 stars for the food

Had malai paneer starter that was ok , tandoori chicken was not bad , butter chicken too sweet, sham savere gravy that is there special dish too sweet looks like same butter chicken gravy overall as per price quality is not that good it's okish.

Have suggested to the manager to get the place fumingated at least once a week. Besides the disgust of the sight of the cockroach, health issues could also be considered. What would be the state in the kitchen, one wonders. The manager has promised to take care, but it will take a long time for us to visit the place again. The top management should seriously take note of this issue.

Celebrated my birthday here. The staff is friendly and efficient. We ordered one of their specialities known as shyam savera and another sabzi called the pinddi chole. The naan here exceptionally good. Try the cheese tomato naan, its simply outstanding. The garlic naan and rotis were also very soft. The lassi also tasted great. It has good ambience and they serve the meetha paan at the end. Its a bit expensive as the portion size doesn't justify the price. Overall, its a good family restaurant to dine at.

The gravy was literally tasting like ketchup the dish tasted awful wasn’t expecting this and if thats how paneer Makhanwala is prepared then I will ever be able to order it again .

Heard a lot about the place from friends. So visited the restaurant with my dad for lunch. Absolutely loved the experience. Rajendra was extremely attentive and the food is just too good. We tried the all-time favorite Fish Tikka Masala and Peeli Mirch ka Rawas with Roomali Roti. Everything was just perfect. We ended with traditional paans as compliments. A perfect lunch at a great restaurant. Will definitely visit again.

Sometimes restaurants which are heavily praised or with high expectations, turn out to be disappointment. I try to avoid visiting such places but it’s not possible always.<br/>Sanjeev Kapoor is a great chef and no discussion around it.<br/>I visited twice to ‘Yellow Chilli’ at different locations ( Thane and Powai ) in past years and decided to struck off from my list due to not matching with expectations (food quality and ambiance)<br/>Last week we were shopping at Viviyana mall and as all shopping trips end usually in having dinner, we also decided to do the same.<br/>Since we were not very hungry, were thinking about various options and then somebody insisted to have only Indian food. So all pizza, Pastas , Chinese and all other options went out of window. And being adventurous or thinking let’s give it a 3rd chance, we decided for ‘Yellow Chilli’<br/>Not crowded due to working day and plus somehow ambiance impressed us ( probably lower expectations) as soon as we entered. (check photos).<br/>We had paneer as starter and it was quite spicy but tasty. Papad were complimentary and in good quantity like 5star!<br/>For main we just ordered steam rice and dal tadka and there was no disappointment. We enjoyed this simple but delicious menu.<br/>The only disappointment was refusal to give benefit for zomato gold scheme.<br/>Looking back we have decided to try again ‘Yellow Chilli’ to explore full menu. So watch this space....

Today I would love to share my awesome n most memorable experience about yellow chilli restaurant.Sorry it's not just a restaurant it's The yellow chilli by the legend Sanjeev Kapoor. Personally speaking he's n inspiration for many people including me ,falling in love with cooking was all because of chef Sanjeev Sir .the special thing about this restaurant is that you get the signature dishes of chef Sanjeev Kapoor which u have just watch while he cooks it but this restaurant gives u a apportunity to taste his signature dishes .I have recently visted their Thane branch where I had tried soups n the starters are the must u should visit n try the desi style Fish N Fingers n Paneer tacos which I personally just loved it ,it was an 💯. theyhave multiple cusine available as per u liking but I tried the Indian food menu,The Shaam Savera dish it was the best I have tried with some Naan n kulchas n finally the desert ,even if u are not a sweet fan or Ur on diet I still recommend u to try the Brownie Fudge(it's like Yellow chilli me akar agar ye nhi khaya tho ky khaya),Comning to the end the ambience was excellent ,value for many was very good💯.As in I had visited this place with one of my frnd so we could try this much varieties only but we are planning soon to visit again some day.last but not the least I know I may sound crazy but I love their menu card 😍it's like a book which u would never stop reading it's so beautifully designed.must visit

Mahindra was the staff who attended us,He was very courteous attentive&provided prompt service with honest suggestions..Have been going to yellow chillies for the last 3-4yrs and this place never disappoints in terms on courteous staff,delicious food and definitely worth visiting more than a couple of times..They have some amazing biryanis and chaat n starters ofcourse ..Would love to revisit on any given day.

So here comes my first experience i had with this awesome restaurant. It was rainy weekend and i was hanging out with buddies at Viviana mall, Thane. After a long fun and shopping we were super hungry and we were looking for something different which we never tried before and we found this restaurant and we thought of giving them an opportunity to serve us. We ordered Paneer tikka lababdars, Butter naans, Plain rotis, Lacchha Parathas, Masala Papads and their Veg biryanis. As soon as we entered in we realised we have choosen the perfect place to dine in. Taste of all the dishes were mouthwatering, food was enough hot, quantity was sufficient, paneer cubes were roasted perfectly so the papads were, they really serve hygiene food at affordable cost. I personally liked their Veg biryani much and trust me i have never ever tasted such biryani before. The aroma literally took me in heaven.. lol, gravy was perfectly added, neither it was watery nor dry. The ingredients they used in were fresh and perfect in quantity which makes food taste great. After we finished we were so much curious to know who the chef was? Basically we never concern about the chef but the yummy food literally won our hearts and we requested restaurant if we can meet their chef? And they allowed us. The guy named Mr.Mahtab came at us with huge smile and confidence on face which he showed in his cooking skills as well, we thanked him for making our first experience awesome and it was really nice talking to him, guy was so professional, polite and humble and he knows his limitations with work and profession so he had to leave within few minutes and we completely understand this part. He asked us to visit again if we can and of course we couldn't say "no". We left the restaurant promising staff we will visit them soon and we are excited to try their rest of the dishes as we couldn't try much in a first visit. Guys, if you are looking for something new, different, tasty, hygiene and pocket friendly then you must visit this ambience as they really serve good food. I wish i could rate them more than i did but unfortunately i can't. They deserve millions of stars so their chef Mr.Mahtab too. Thanks Yello Chilli team for giving us mind blowing hospitality. You guys are doing wonderful job. Keep the same quality and service. Our best wishes are with your entire team. Cudos to their chef again.

Well if you go by name one might think it’s Chinese but it’s Indian restaurant by celebrity master chef... I have very mixed reviews every time I visit this place... Once I went with few friends service was excellent n it was our first time at the place so we ordered food as suggested n it was yummy... Second time I went with my family they loved it too... N then it became my go to place for a while... but recent few visits were little disappointing ... They have buffet as well as a la carte option... I have tried buffet only once coz at the price they r offering I din find it worth... Food was tasty but limited menu options... I have tried thr fusion recipe chili chicken once I din like much so turned off to try fusion recipes in future... Have tried all dessert preparations n loved them especially shahi tukda... Biryani taste keeps changing time to time... Once we had Nizam biryani it was delicious but second time dunno what happened... same with Awadhi biryani... To begin with, going by the name of the restaurant it sounds like a Chinese restaurant, but then there is tagine "Redifining Indian Food" which makes you think something like they give a twist to the Indian cuisine in some way. Although that is true for a tiny bit, but considering the fact that this chain is under the name of a very famous Indian Masterchef, it doesn't do justice at all.<br/>Quite frankly, and in the politest way possible I will say the food is not up to the mark.<br/>Nothing twisty about the taste, or the presentation.<br/>The names look fancy but the food isn't quite there.<br/>Adding to the fact it is overly expensive, and you are not at all getting the value for money.<br/>I went in with a lot of expectations and came out with a decision of not going back again.<br/>I hope the staff will take note and improve the quality, more of the food than of anything else.<br/>Cheers.

Tried a buffet meal in Yellow chilli on a weekday.The total cost for 3 ppl all inclusive was 2020/- .It's not like a regular buffet where there is a huge spread.The buffet is served to you on the table and has fixed menu .Two non veg starters( chicken was undercooked,on informing I was told this recipe is cooked in this way😂),one veg starters,salad, pickle mix, tomato soup was really good, chicken gravy, mutton gravy ( didn't enjoy much)fried Papad and gulab jamun mousse (sweet is limited) the concept is of economical buffet so don't expect much .The food is average.There are places where they serve better variety. Ambience is good. Earlier I have tried the alacarte menu and have liked it, honestly buffet didn't go that well with me.

Good ambience and service however the taste play the major role in food and i was not happy with the taste - we were 3 of them as usual were our for Sunday lunch and ordered veg and non veg dishes both- the taste for any of the food item was not up to the mark- ordered mutton for the main course which was not properly cooked<br/>Even the pappad which they offer as complimentary dish were soft - why they even offer them if the quality is so bad. Overall wouldn’t recommend any of my friends 😓

We visited this place twice in the last 15 days as we are suckers for good non-veg food. They serve complimentary roasted papad in the beginning, so u can munch on it till your order comes (which generally doesn’t take much time 😊). We started with Cheese chilli chicken tikka - the combination of cheese and chicken tikka was just mouth watering, had Butter Chicken for main course which tasted nothing like I had for a very long time 😋😋. In our second visit we tried Peeli mirch ka rawas and Chowringhee chilli chicken, these two had very distinct taste and we loved them. We ended the dinner with Chicken Dum Biryani which was tasty, nothing extra-ordinary. The thing we loved about the place is the soothing music, calming ambience, good portion of delicious food, courteous staff, specially our steward Manoranjan with his welcoming smile and gestures. Ideal place to visit for Fine Dining experience with family or a romantic date.

Great place!!!!! A table attendant named manoranjan was most courteous and treated us like a king. <br/>We love the place and the food. <br/>One let down is the music, which is Indian classical which is too loud most of the time and gets to you eventually if not immediately. <br/><br/>But yet again I must thank the man of the day Manoranjan Behera who showed us a nice time by also taking the time to understand our palate and portions and recommend dishes. <br/><br/>Will definitely recommend and visit this place for the scrumptious food.
