A little overdue appreciation for one of my go to places in Thane. Samudra and Malvan Tadka are owned by the same management. This is without a speck of doubt, an underrated hidden gem located in the heart of the city. The place has three types of seating area options and you can take a pick: i) Ground floor having housing a bar (Good pick if you want to have a couple of drinks before you bounce off) ii) Mezzanine/First floor: Family AC section iii) Roof top (The best part of the restaurant and my personal pick of the lot): This is an outstanding pick for drinks and food either ways because it has a good seating areas even though the views are not unobstructed.
Service is top notch at the roof top. Striving towards excellence.
F&B:
1) Fresh lime (ππππ):
Absolutely refreshing with perfect balance of lime and sweetness. Nothing can go wrong with this. A perfectly safe choice if youβre in the mood to have a cooler.
2) Paneer Thai Papdi (ππππ):
This is their latest introduction in the menu and it is just as good as what the executive told us. It has a heavy coating outside and filled with a tasty paneer filling. Also it is complimented by their in house special red gravy which makes it a perfect side with alcohol.
3) Chicken Banjara (My familyβs favourite) (πππππ):
Absolutely lip smacking & delectable chicken marinated in their secret spices and charred in tandoor to perfection. The smokey flavour just oozes from it. This is their chart buster and my brother especially travels from abroad to have a run at this.
3) Chicken Seekh Kebab (πππππ):
Another one of many which is a piece of their culinary finesse
4) Chicken Rojali Kebab (πππππ):
Crafty is an understatement when it comes to calling out this dish. This has a succulent minced chicken filling which is a game changer. Balance of spices, texture and its riveting flavour makes this dish a superstar amongst the lot.
5) Veg Hakka Noodles (πππππ):
One of the best Hakka Noodles I have ever savoured. Hands down. Itβs super thin, loaded with vegetables and has the perfect wok smokey flavour blended in it which just raises the bar for everyone out there.
Another of my favourites; Malvan serves wide variety of cuisines; though I visit them for their Malvan / costal food.
Try their sol kadhi, Kombdi wade & Tava fish.
Beverages are very reasonably priced and it makes this place more interesting. Wash down spicy fish and other stuff with variety of beer π» they serve.
It's a sea food restaurant with good options. Prawns, surmai, curry everything tastes good. Mandeli rava fry is not upto the mark, rest everything is delicious. Guava juice is very nice and a must recommended. Restaurant is pretty decent and spacious with soothing music environment. Price is a bit high. Service is nice. A must tryπ
We order surmai tawa fry at first, it was really tasty. Less spicy masala and flavour was malwani, size of surmai was bigger than my mobile. Then we had prawns curry roti stem rice and solkadhi. All things were taste to perfect. We liked the ambience, service and taste of the food.
One good thing, waiter asked us that can they play with my baby. So that we can enjoy our food. Really appreciated.
This is the must try place in Thane and they serve delicious food. Crab malvani sukha is toh must try here. I tried Shimplya sukha as well it was awesome as well.
Their food has mixture of taste of Malvani masala + manglorian masala.
Overall its 5/5 restaurant and must visit

There is quite a rush on weekends so try going in a bit early

Online experience
The online experience was too bad, ordered Chicken tandoori full, the taste was not good no use of butter, no taste in it, besides giving extra instruction for mint chatani they give spoon π₯ full of chatani for full tandoori, disappointed with the taste and online experience, packaging was bad, leaking oil from bottom.

Highly Recommendable Hotel
A very good place for malvani foods.Though the price is a bit on the higher side but it is a justice to the quality and hospitality.
There is no thali concept in the menu so if you are going in a smaller group or single person, it will be difficult for you to finish the dishes. To try the variety of their dishes, I recommend going in a group.
I went to this place with my wife and was only able to try very few dishes.
