Review The Shelter - Thane

This is one of the very good restaurants in Thane city. Very conveniently located. Renovation work is going on at groun floor as such, we sat at first floor. Food quality was very good and service is also very prompt. The restaurant was half empty evwn on weekend because of Adhik maas. Overall, a good experience to dine here.

A very nice rooftop ambience with great food is how I will describe this restaurant. The chicken was soft and tender. Even the soup was thick and tasty. The service was good as well. They also have a great list of mocktails. But this restaurant could be bit heavy on your pocket. Apart from that everything is good. Food 4/5 Ambience 4/5 Service 4/5

The restaurant has good vibe. The food and the beverages are quite good and worth the price. However they can look into the quality of the table linen and change them.

The Shelter is a family restaurant and bar with simple and decent decor and ambiance. Its a 3 storey resto, ground and first level being normal dining area whereas the upper level javing rooftop arrangement. The food served here is really amazi g. Mainly they serve North Indian, Mughlai and Chinese with some of their own fusion dishes. We tried quite a few dishes & drinks here I would like to recommend, *Drinks* • Tropical Bliss • Citrus Fusion • Pineapple & Coriander Martini *Food* • Chicken Chilli Kebab - Pahadi kebab topped with a layer of Schezwan. Yummilicious! • Surmai Tawa Fry - Full size Surmai crisply fried in spicy masala. • Chicken Kangda - One of their special and prominent dishes. Boneless Chicken pieces with rich red medium thick gravy. Very flavourful! • Mutton Kheema Fry • Sizzling Brownie The food was amazing here, personally I liked CHICKEN CHILLI KEBAB the most, and CHICKEN KANGDA was delicious too😋😋 Staff was very kind and courteus. Mr. Sahil was there to serve us. He knew the menu well and helped us in ordering the food. The service is also quick and good. Really enjoyed the food here. The shelter is one of the oldest and famous Bar and Restaurant of Thane and it serves Quality food since 1979.The shelter is situated opposite Malhar cinema, Naupada, Thane West. This place is located around 1.2 km from Thane railway station and easily reachable from Thane station by auto or by walking. This restaurant has two floors, which has an amazing rooftop dining area. Restaurant has very attractive ambiance.Ambience of the whole restaurant looks beautiful and attractive. Seating arrangement is perfectly managed and organised in respect of couples, group of friends and families. Menu of this restaurant is vast and thanks to Mr. Sanil Salvi, who was helpful and gave us wonderful suggations to choose right dish to eat and thanks to him for taking care of us during our last visit to restaurant. Talking about the food.. They serves cusuines like North Indian, mughalai, Chinese and seafood. We've tried their seafood and North Indian cuisine, which tastes very delicious. We've Ordered : ▪️ Cocktail : ✓ Indian Summer (Highly Recommended : such a superb drink and very refreshing. This is mixture of gin, fresh orange/sweet lime, tamarind exact, roasted coriander and sour mix. Must try !! ✓Granada (Recommended): This is one of another amazing drink which like. Try this! ✓Pineapple and Coriander Martini (Highly Recommended) : Mouthwatering drink which I like a very much personally with an amazing pineapple taste ▪️ Mocktail : ✓Citrus Fusion (Recommended): Mixture of fresh orange, sweet lime, tamarind, roasted corriender and lime. Tastes yummy. ▪️Staters : ✓Prawns Tawa Fry (Highly Recommended) : Delicious dish!! Mouthwatering prawns is marinated and fried with Indian spices. ✓Mutton Shole Kabab (Highly Recommended) : Superb mutton kabab. Mutton admirer must try it! ▪️Main Course : ✓Veg Mazedar (Highly Recommended) : This one is delicious, which is mixture of all vegetables and include paneer burji. Vegetarian should Go for this you definitely gonna like this dish.. Must try!! ✓Mutton Biryani and Boondi Raita (Recommended): Tasty Mutton biryani served with boondi Raita taste yummy. ▪️ Dessert : ✓Butter Scotch Ice-cream ✓Chocolate Ice-Cream My experience of at shelter was superb. Nice restaurant. Good food good ambience and good service, ac and terece open sitting is there which is good in winters foe having fun with friends and enjoying food and drinks. Interior is good food is tasty, overall restaurant is nice. Would recommend this for families and group of friends to enjoy fine dine with the drinks. 👍🏻

I highly recommend this place for good food and descent ambiance. Good place for dining out near teen hath naka area, Thane. Rooftop has open and family section. Sometimes service is bit slow but the veg, non-veg food is tasty here. Cocktails and mocktails are not that great. They accept reservations before 8 PM. Recommended: Prawns biryani is Yummmm 🤤here.

The shelter is imprinted on the minds of every thanekar, serving with the same amount of love & passion since 1979, the place is based on the theme “home away from home”. The first floor is for all the senior citizens & male customers, the second floor comprises of open terrace & adjacent to it is the section exclusively for the families. We chose to dine at the open terrace & we loved the chill vibes over there. . . We tried, • paneer amritsari tikka - soft & fresh paneer marinated in mild spices, absolutely delectable. • bombil fry - spicy & crispy, very scrumptious. • roasted bbq chicken & chicken pepper kebabs - as delicious as it looks, had the perfect balance of flavours. • prawns tawa fry - fav from the list, spicy & properly marinated. • nawabi masaledaar chicken & prawns malwani - the nawabi being their signature dish was simply amazing, malwani’s gravy could have been thicker. • prawns & chicken biryani - equally delicious. . . The service was at its best; quick, kind & humble. Also, we loved the way they presented the food. The prices are okay. . . Enjoy finger licking food with your friends & family @theshelter

A very casual restaurant with an open terrace dining option. Food quality & quantity is relatively good considering its average cost per dish. Alcoholic & non alcoholic beverage available too. The only part that they lagged was in terms slow service. Hygiene is maintained & staff is supportive & well mannered. Vallet parking is available! Overall a decent option for a lazy weekend to enjoy with friends & family!!

Hello folks !!! Do follow theheavy_eater on instagram Shelter stands strong for almost 40 years now in the heart of Thane. They have some delectable food and alcohol which will make you tipsy. Food: Chicken Cheese Kebab: juicy chicken tandoor coated with cottage cheese. Tastes best with green chutney Bombil rava fry: good chunks of bombil fish coated with crisp rava (semolina) was delicious. Pomfret Tawa Fry: Huge pomfret roasted well with spices garlic and was lip smacking till the end Prawns Koliwada: mid sized prawns deep fried with masala. De shell and devour Chicken fried wontons: chinese starter where chicken is served in wonton which is crisp and tastes best with sweet addpn given with it Chicken makhani/ butter chicken: thick gravy with shredded chicken was delicious Surmai masala: chunks of surmai served in malvan type gravy. A bit spicy. We had main course with cheese garlic naan which was crisp and topped with loads of cheese Vanilla with gulab jamun: the best combo dessert and perfect to end the meal Drinks: pinacolada, sunrise tequila, liit and indian summer: all drinks were perfectly blended and had adequate amounts of alcohol proportion. Highly recommended is indian summer !!! Do try that They have roof top seating for families as well as closed dining too. We were assisted by a group of members- mr sanil salvi, steward turi and mr banti. All were cordial and made sure we had an amazing time out there. Happy Dining at this amazing restaurant 😊

The food appeared freshly prepared and tasty. The chicken chilly is a must try. It was slightly overpriced though. Good for an occasional dine in splurge.

Well if you need less crowd and comfortable place you should reach there by 9 to 9:30 pm max. Get a comfortable space and enjoy the food. Out of the many places i ate chinese food , this gave the best taste and experience. A must go

Nice place to chill with friends they also have open terrace sitting area. Food is good staff is polite. Tandoor and Chinese dishes are good. Price are slightly at higher side. Overall Good Experience.
