If you want excellent vegetarian snacks or meals in Thane you should go to Shiva Prasad restaurant. You always get the same immaculate quality and taste. Their filter coffee is so good that I never miss a chance of having one whenever I visit. I have been going here since the early 1990s and recommend this place to all my family and friends. No wonder this place is always crowded.

We had lunch at Shivprasad and it was amazing. Food quality is great and washrooms were in good condition too. The Mysore Masala dosa was slightly spicy but tasted amazing. The Rava dosa was crispy and also was good. Onion Rava dosa was also good. Overall we had a great experience would recommend to anyone. Will visit again.

Old School Restaurant, has a cozy vibe to it. Great food at good, great prices, friendly staff, nothing too fancy. Went there for a quick breakfast and wasn't disappointed. Would recommend Tomato Omlette and Mysore Masala Dosa. The only drawback of visiting this place is it's parking arrangement. If you have a two wheeler, you're fine, but four wheeler parking can a headache here.

This place is located close to gajanan maharaj math near ghantali, naupada. They offer ample variety of food with good taste. Quantity is good. Quality is amazing. Overall good experience. It is family friendly hotel.

A very famous Vegetarian Restaurant in Thane. Food is not bad either. The ambience is good. Staff is friendly. We tried some Dosa, Idli and Vada. They were delicious. We also tried Paneer Satay and Sizzler. Paneer Satay was a bit different. It was like lots of tomato sauce added to schezwan sauce and fried paneer tossed in them. The gravy had good amount of corn starch added. Sizzler was pretty okayish for the price charged.

They have two compartments, an AC and a non AC. The AC section was particularly clean.<br/><br/>Service and staff (4/5) :- The service was quick. The staff was friendly.<br/><br/>Food :-<br/><br/>1. Sweet corn veg soup (3/5) :- Tasted a bit bland. Lots of vegetables, but could be better.<br/><br/>2. Paneer makhanwala (4/5) :- Altogether good in taste. The paneer was soft.<br/><br/>3. It was very bad experience there in shivaprasad I have ordered panner pahadi Tikka (starters) which was not even properly tandoor and very bad in taste and later ordered with veg handi in that there was only cauliflower so totally it was bad experience I will suggest don't order from here or try some other good restaurants am giving 1 star because it's necessary to give otherwise I may prefer 1/2 star

This is a Very nice restaurant. They serve really tasty food. Staff have knowledge about all dishes and their differences. There was no waiting time in spite of being a Sunday.

A place with a good food and all my patriotic friends do try their tiranga sabji, which is a combination of gravy of tri color. <br/>Though it is located in one of the busiest locations of thane but all my friends who love driving, they do have vallet parking so now I don't think you have any reason to not go there!

We were here for some evening snacks. <br/><br/>Food:- Idli Wada Sambar with chutney - Taste was good and served hot.<br/>Medu Wada Sambar with chutney - This was served so hot that it took 10 minutes to cool it down and than I was able to eat it properly. <br/>Rava Masala Dosa with Sambar & Chutney - This was prepared very nicely. Potato sabji inside dosa was okayish. <br/><br/>Ambiance:- Place is a quick food hangout area. A decent place with 30-40 seatings overall. “Well-served delicious food”<br/>Started with Misal-pav. It was very nicely made (the sambhar was lovely). Service is attentive but a bit highly priced. मिसळ was fresh, like home-made ones. 

It been more than a decade now i visit this place, often in the morning. This place has a lot of variations as far as snacks and main course are concerned. One of the fewer outlets where the cleanliness is top notch. <br/><br/>Food quality is great so it the service. <br/><br/>The only drawback i find is the price. I feel it is overrated. Nonetheless definitely a good place to hang out with your family.

Vegetarian's : This place is for you. Good food,quick service are their bonus points. Located near the shopping area of naupada the food is tasty and perfect for the Indian palette. I would personally recommend Veg Jalfrezi and Veg Handi. Chinese lovers do have Veg fried rice.

This has been our favorite place since childhood. It is better option for families to have dinners together. I had tried chinese and that was very much in line with our expectations. The staff is quite older and still has the same human touch which I have got in my childhood. Of course, some might be new but the overall experience was very good. Shivaprasad has always been our vegetarian family restaurant ever since I was small. With its soothing ambiance and fairly quick service, it became our go-to restaurant for any celebration. All this coupled with reasonable rates makes for a great meal and deal anytime! One of the very old family restaurant in thane for more than a decade now. The starter PEPPERY PANEER SESAME was spicy n tasty. The sauce had a base of red chillies and tanginess from the soy was a perfect blend. <br/>Main course had Garlic Naan, Kulcha n Veg Malwani. The breads were perfect, but the Veg was not that great. Not a great choice as the taste was good enough but the veggies were not cut properly and was very big, difficult to handle n chew 😁😁<br/>Finally the Fried Rice was a perfect end to an adventure meal...😋😋

Today me and my friend visited to shiv prasad restaurant its a pure veg restaurant with a empty stomach the restaurant has both a/c and non a/c section. we go to a/c section their is less cooling but its OK. the restaurant has a good interior and staff are also good .we order veg kofta , naan , and Hyderabadi biryani .the food is soo tasty and bit spicy love the food its stand on my expectation will definitely visit again. Just another family restaurant, this place has been around for decades. It is a pure vegetarian restaurant and is very famous for its neer dosas. There are two types of seating available here, AC and Non AC. The place is decent. We had their Paneer Tikka. This one is our all-time favourite and their paneer tikka stood up to our expectations. The pieces of paneer were generous with a thick gravy atop pieces of tomatoes, capsicums and onions. The gravy is a bit spicy. It was an ordinary dish. We also tried their fried rice. This again was nothing extraordinary. Average restaurant for vegetarians... Few dishes are just awsome to taste but if u go late night after 9:30 will disappoint u.. With gravy.. K personally experienced it.. Gravy was so heavy to digest... But yes its true. Food is good little expensive ambience in the non ac section is the worst part about the restaurant if you are coming for an event like birthday or anniversary go for ac section only

Had been here at a buzzy Saturday afternoon, had a lot of huckle and buckle near this place .. Buzzing around with a lot of people... Personal thought if u don't like the buzz please go into the air conditioned section... One of the best vegetarian food serving outlets in thane... Everything you order has a very smooth and subtle taste.. One more thing to notice is that they will serve every delicacy with a good amount of quantity plus the benefit is that it doesn't go heavy on your wallet ... Adding on the staff and the service provided is quick and humble

We have tried only south indian dishes like Idli, Medu Wada, Dosa, but haven't tried other dishes available at this place. <br/>Food that we bave tried so far are good in taste. Nice ambience suitable for family dining. Staff is soft spoken and really helpful. <br/>I would like to recommend this place for south indian dishes.

I commonly call this Garibonka Taj. Reason being this is the hotel which all the Rich-from-heart Thanekars go when they have to spend big on eating. A typical upstream restaurant in an enviable location which attracts crowds across Naupada, Charai, Pachpakhadi etc. <br/><br/>Food is so good that we have started benchmarking quality of other hotels with Shivaprasad!

This is the best veg hotel in Thane.. one of d major thing is that they have maintained their quality of food and a service in both i.e. AC & non AC is best.I will give 5 star....

I have been to this place several times. It is one of the typical udpi restaurants. Very good snack items like idli, wada, dosa, etc. Upma is really awesome. You can smell it is made of pure ghee and the wonderfully shuttle taste would linger on your pallette making you want more.<br/>I have taken numerous people here for lunch or snacks and all of them have simply loved the food here. It is clean and they serve tasty food here. What more can you ask for.

This restaurant has been there since donkeys year's and still it comes in your mind first when you think about QUALITY FAST FOOD...I went here (again) a couple of week's back..And it pleases my soul to see that the quality of their food has remained the same...the dosas,idli wada Sambhar(my mom's favorite),tomato omelette,utthappam ,sheera,upma ,neer dosa are something which is just as special as they are delicious..not to forget their filter coffee..for south Indian cuisine aficionados...this place is nothing less than PARADISE...Say no more..

Having been gone to this restaurant a million times before but today it was kind of a disappointment on terms of food taste. I had ordered Veg. Biryani and the regular Idli Chutney Sambhar but everything was just too bland.. I hope they recover their taste back

This is central Thaneites' go-to udipi cum multi-cuisine. A place that will never fail you. The same paneer tikka, the same methi malai mutter, everything just the same - a taste that you associated with 'hotel ka khana' since childhood.

The very important thing when you eat south Indian is the sambhar and chutney and shivprasad have got it right which is what makes it an ideal place for South Indian snacks. Service is quick Parking is an issue,and I have heard the Punjabi food is also good but I shall leave that for another time . I ordered the pizza and much to my surprise he got me a thin crust pan pizza and believe me it was better than expected hence the 4 points .

I have seen this restaurant from my childhood days. While going to St.John High School I used to pass this place everyday. They have a very old and authentic tradition of south India food.<br/>PROS:<br/>Best place to get south India Food<br/>They also offer Neer Dosa on Sundays only.<br/>Good joint to have a quick snack and push off.<br/>Quick service<br/>Have 4-5 parking slots.<br/><br/>CONS:<br/>Rates are double than any other udipi restaurant in Thane. Don't know why everybody is hungry for money.<br/>The waiters might abuse you behind your back if you don't tip them properly.<br/>I have personally experienced it twice and have stopped paying tips in the restaurant. They can now freely abuse me. No worries.<br/>There is a customer attendant who probably manages the waiters. He is always found chit chatting at the cash counter.<br/>The AC section is like the costliest place in Thane. Never seen any south Indian dish for 3 figures.<br/>The waiter filling water in your glass feels as if he has a water fountain in his hand and fills it from a meter high from the glass and spills out most of the water.<br/>The seats in the non-AC section are like the General Boggie of the long distance train.<br/><br/>Overall I would recommend this place if you happen to be close by and feel Hungry.

This restaurant used to be the best in Thane. Still attracts huge crowds on Weekends. Yesterday me n my mom ordered a Sizzler since my mom liked it on previous occasions. But this time it was disastrous. There was too much thick gravy (corn starch probably) very little rice n noodles; each of us got only a spoonful. Stuffing in vegetables was cold no cutlets but Manchurian balls. Gravy felt too heavy n sticky in mouth. Never ordering a sizzler again.

One of the oldest restaurants in thane, have been going here since 15 years.. it's improved on its ambience,the waiters are too good at service,food is amazing.A typical family pure veg, no bar restaurant .

This is really a good place to come with family. U can come here any time .Food here is really best. Taste of all dishes is good may it be chinese, south indian or north indian. Being only a veg restaurant it gives varieties of veg dishes. Ambience here is not that good and it is always crowded and lots of noise you cant find silence here.

Kids love it. <br/>Kela Bhajiya 4:5. Another favourite. Nice puffed up. Not too much oil. Comes with a spicy green chutney. <br/><br/>Oats onion Uttapam - 4/5. Healthy excuse. <br/><br/>Neer Dosa - 3/5. This is quite dry and almost like soft Sada Dosa. The moisture and softness is missing. <br/><br/>Service is efficient. Owners are on the floor at all times. <br/><br/>Parking outside is not a problem. <br/>

A place for vegetarians. This place is in existence since I remember. This is my personal favourite hotel for having a pure veg food. The food tastes really good. Service provided is also good. Atmosphere in this place is really pleasant and it feel really good to have food here.

It's better to reach Shivaprasad for your Sunday lunch by 12.30, else wait time can be half an hour also.. South Indian cuisine is a hit here and parking is difficult, no valet available...AC and Non AC sections have seperate wait times also, so indicate your preference early at the entrance..Rasam vada is recommended as an appetiser...the standard subzis uplifted here..roti, naan and puris quite good ...Pricing is not moderate..

The constant waiting outside this restaurant says it all ! On weekends might be crowded and you might have to wait for sometime ! But trust me the wait is worth it ! One can find the finest vegetarian food over here ! The ever awesome South Indian menu for the breakfast with the Sambhar tasting amazing ! And the vast variety of Punjabi dishes in the main course served with Kadak roti is heavenly ! The moment you enter the restaurant you are approached by a ever smiling service staff which is caring n friendly ! I can proudly say that no one has visited this place more than me for the best Idli Sambar and chutney. Occassional order for a Chocolate Milkshake to top it off ...and there you go define FASTFOOD.

We landed at this place by accident. There was very famous Maharashtrian restaurant very nearby to this place and we came intending to go there. But we found that it was closed and hence we came here.<br/><br/>We tried the Karari Bhindi, Veg Jalfrazie and Dal Tadka with Butter Naan. Karari Bhindi was over in minutes and had to order for another helping, it was so crispy and nice. Veg Jalfrazie was mildy spicy with a tangy tomato gravy which had the look & taste of being freshly cooked, different from the mish-mash that is served at many restaurants. <br/><br/>A MUST Visit Restaurant for the food, service and value for money.

Shivaprasad is my most favorite restaurant in Thane. Whenever I make planning for dinning out this is my first option. I have been visiting this place since my childhood. This is not the only reason that its my favorite but it has good locality, good staff, variety of dishes, quantity & test of food.
