A very family friendly place to have pure veg food. South Indian delicacies are out of this world. I have been eating at this place for the past 30 years. Special family occasions are usually incomplete without a treat here. Very cordial staff.

When it comes to a Vegetarian Bash, the only restaurant been suggested by my mother is ShivaPrasad. As around the place one of the finest vegetarian restaurant i have been yet. Well as every restaurant has its own pros and cons, this one shares its own
Pros:
1. The service can be the biggest plus point in here, Here there are people for doing every small job, for taking order, there's a main waiter, for serving water there is a different person, for serving the food there's another person. So the service gets the maximum brownie points.
2. The food quality is something which one should be looking foward to, and this restaurant never fails to exhibit the same.
3. Ambience as in such in nothing to be mentioned but two compartments AC and Non AC which is good.
Cons:
1. If u tell the person to add something extra, its a straight NO. Well i have faced it though, dont know about regular ones.
No other such cons i found out.

Potato Chips been deep fried and been served, This restaurant does serve 'fast' (upwas) food. Well the quantitiy was decent enough.

Again one the most opted upwas (fast) food over here. Sabudana been soaked under water overnight and been fried together in the form of wada, one of the best wada served.

🔹 Malai Kofta;
Firstly to say, One of my most preferred dish in this restaurant. It is sweet though, hoping spicy lovers wont go for it. Kofta been made out of malai stuffing and added raisins, with gravy along and topped with cherry.

Assorted Roti along for having along with any gravy item. It was just perfectly cooked and crunchy at the edges.

🔹 Methi Malai Mutter;
As its name itself gives an idea what this dish would have, Methi which means Spinach, Malai meaning Mazhai and Mutter meaning Green peas. This also comes under the sweet category of dishes, where the mixture of the veges been served in a light greenish gravy. One of the dishes which we prefer instead of Malai Kofta.

🔹 Mushroom Malwani;
Now comes the spicy range in which Mushroom being one of my treasured dishes, had ordered this one. This had 6-7 huge mushrooms been cut into halves and been added a malvani style of red gravy. One of the dish any mushroom lover would prefer though.

🔹 Veg Fried Rice;
Coming at the rice ranges, one of the best served rice is the fried rice. white basmati rice with spring onions, french beans makes the end most bewildering. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED over Steam or Jeera Rice. The only con in this is the oil, it has a good amount of oil.

Being a mushroom lover myself, i would personally recommend this fried rice over the normal one. This has the mushroom which u would get in every bite. The oil, cost and taste is almost similar to the normal one.

Final Verdict:
Its been like soo many years this restaurant is running successfully in Thane. One of the most preferred by any hardcore vegetarian. Also this restaurant is always busy in weekdays, weekends are the most occupied. So would suggest each and every vegetarian to atleast visit this restaurant once. They would literally fall for it. It has always been a good experience. All cuisines - North Indian, south Indian and Chinese are good here. They should increase choices in menu, almost tried everything.
If you want excellent vegetarian snacks or meals in Thane you should go to Shiva Prasad restaurant. You always get the same immaculate quality and taste.
Their filter coffee is so good that I never miss a chance of having one whenever I visit.
I have been going here since the early 1990s and recommend this place to all my family and friends. No wonder this place is always crowded.
We had lunch at Shivprasad and it was amazing. Food quality is great and washrooms were in good condition too. The Mysore Masala dosa was slightly spicy but tasted amazing. The Rava dosa was crispy and also was good. Onion Rava dosa was also good. Overall we had a great experience would recommend to anyone. Will visit again.

A/C Hall dining closed between 4pm and 7pm.Coneniently located. Near from Thane railway station 400 metersand ST bus stand-Vandana-150meters.Very good south indian food.
Old School Restaurant, has a cozy vibe to it. Great food at good, great prices, friendly staff, nothing too fancy. Went there for a quick breakfast and wasn't disappointed. Would recommend Tomato Omlette and Mysore Masala Dosa. The only drawback of visiting this place is it's parking arrangement. If you have a two wheeler, you're fine, but four wheeler parking can a headache here.
My go too place for excellent veg food. You cannot go wrong here.
