Tried the chocolate cake and their red velvet.. the cake was soft and moist and the icing complemented the cake very well.. almost like a sweet and salty treat.. don't know why the rating isn't better but I was quite happy with what I got.. seems to be run by father and daughter.. they were very polite and accomodating.. they don't keep stock of their cakes, I'm guessing it's so they can serve it fresh or maybe it's coz of the virus.. either way it's best to order in advance.. the ambiance is very comforting..
Really fresh pizzas with generous toppings and yummy crust ... the dessert jars were good too!
We are regular visitors. The best pizza I have ever had. The desserts are very tasty. . Customer service is excellent.. no hovering.... Simply awesome.

Buttercup Bakehouse has been a spot in Trivandrum that I have been hearing about a lot and been wanting to try out their Jar desserts for quite sometime.
Location And Ambience :
Buttercup Bakehouse is a new cafe that opened up in Sasthamangalam in Trivandrum. Its a small cozy little place which serves different varieties of pizzas, sandwiches to pies and milkshakes. But the highlight of the place is their pressed juices and Jar Desserts.
So I decided to go for the Green Burst drink(consisting mainly of cucumber,green apple, lime ginger and celery) and Chocolate temptation jar (chocolate cake in chocolate sauce) . They decided to order Carrot 24 Karat (which was an overdose of pressed carrot juice) and the blackcurrent Jar. Both the pressed juices were,how do I put it, really healthy!(imagine pressed vegetables and fruit juices without sugar in them,Definitely something great for the health buffs). But all that changed when the Jar Desserts came. I had a taste of the blackcurrent jar first, and it was really good. (Limited edition flavours).Then I moved on to the Chocolate temptation.One spoon…and it took me into this chocolate daze. It was so good and chocolatey that even though it was really heavy, I just kept eating more and more. The sauce ,the cake, everything just went together so well.
I thank those who recommended me to try this place, because, (even though we tried less items,) I can’t wait to go over there and try many more of their food, especially their jar desserts. ( They have a wide variety of Jar desserts, ranging from different types of chocolate to exotic flavours and daily specials)

Excellent! My go-to place to satisfy all my food cravings. Love their pizza, salad, pies and of course... their jar desserts. Absolutely drool worthy. Sigh. I wish I was their neighbour. And what amazing hospitality! Greeted with a 100 watt smile and a warm demeanour, the brother and sister duo can easily persuade one to buy their whole array (not that I need any persuasion of course). There is ample parking space by the main road itself. The ambience is bright, warm and uncluttered. Yes, the price is slightly on the higher side but their food and overall experience are well worth it. Will keep visiting again and again.
Probably the best place for good quality cupcakes and cakes. I first visited the place with a friend some two or three years earlier and loved it. We had milk shakes, cakes and bought cupcakes. I still have some of the glass bottles of the milkshakes and cakes. I loved their red velvet shake.
Better than any other bakeries in town for cupcakes.
The only problem at times is finding parking space on the busy road.
Run by a couple, excellent place to get jar cakes, cakes, pizzas and healthy pressed juices. Didn’t like the juice much as it tastes old. A bit costly it is. Loved their tenderlicious jar - a dessert based on tender coconut which is the current trend. They take the price of glass jar also so in case you are dining in take the juice/dessert jar with you after you finish it.
The best bakes in town. The dynamic duo of 'I-dunno-who' come together to give us their delightful home-made bakes.
Their signature items are-
1. Pie- Chicken Pie and Fish Pie. It’s a little heavy with cheese and butter, but melts in your mouth scrumptiously. The only place for such pie in town.
2. Cakes- Their cakes are distinctively yummy.
3. Dessert- Mango Yoghurt is mind-blowing. You will relish in the thick creamy course.
Their Pizza’s and sandwiches are not worth mentioning, just satisfying only. But they really make up with their pie and other bakes. Prices are on the higher side, but worth it.
They’ve rented an old traditional house and refurbished it as a sleek and cozy home for baking, retaining the traditional character. They conduct baking classes every now and then which are worth a look.
Kudos to the duo
We went to their cafe on the vellayambalam kowdiar road. The sandwiches were really good. Their bread is also very soft and tasty. The only negative point was that the food took so long. We went in a group of three and the sandwiches were served at different times. The second person’s order was served much after the first one finished eating and so on. This took away the joy and fun of eating a meal together.

An amazing cake shop with a really helpful and friendly staff who can definitely whip up magic with the least amount of time. I had called them up at around 11 in the morning for a last minute surprise cake and they literally saved the day with the last minute cake, which was ready to be picked up by 2 in the afternoon. The staff had been really helpful in explaining the choices and aided me to make the choice.
About the cake, it was really a slice of heaven. I had ordered a red velvet cake and boy oh boy it was really delicious. The icing and the cake layers were just awesome. Icing was just so amazingly great and buttery, I really got nostalgic about cakes my mom used to make. I have to say after a long time I was going back to cake like a small kid wanting to have more. On a different occasion, I also got the opportunity to try their chocolate cake, it wasn't a let down either. The cakes were just brilliant.
I would highly recommend this place to one and all who enjoy a really delicious and north watering cake.
From their jars to yummy pizzas am a huge fan of their food . Their red velvet jar is my favourite. They have cold pressed juices which are yummy . They have a very cozy ambience . They serve you the food with love that makes this place the go to place . Dusting Christmas they bake the best rich plum cakes u can find in Trivandrum. My personal favourite cakes are the dates caramel cake , butterscotch, red velvet and the rich plum
Ordered this 0.5kg vanilla cake with chocolate icing and hazelnut sauce through call and whatsapp. First of all, the contact person was super nice and polite. The staff were polite and courteous at the time of pick up. And finally, the cake was super moist and decadent. It was pretty small but extremely filling and rich in taste. There are definitely cheaper options in Trivandrum but I wanted to try out the place after hearing about it from a friend. Happy with the cake :)
Ummm their cupcakes 🧁 are soo yummy, love their moist cake and fluffy butter icings, lots of flavours available, good place to have it calm, away from the road, good location, hot beverages sre also available.
I had their red velvet cream cheese cupcake and butter chocolate cookies 🍪, 2 pc per portion, its mouthwatering and soft crunch as well.. must try
Quaint, lovely and a beautiful escape. This place has a good menu regd food items and their signature jar desserts are to die for.
However, I was not a fan of their pretty sad drinks menu. Having to pick between just a Carrot Juice and an Orange Juice, I had to choose water. I hope the management brings in more clear lighter drinks. Because, the other option would be thick shakes.
The decor is beautiful as well.
