This place is for sure underrated. Nestled amongst the Havelis of Udaipur in a narrow lane, it is a hidden gem for food connoisseurs. Although White Terrace doesn't boast of a lake view experience it has humbling settings and lip-smacking food to its credit. We visited the restaurant for dinner on 22nd Jan 2020 and ordered Dal Tadka with plain rice and Grilled chicken cooked in red wine. I am not a big fan of yellow dal but their chef spun magic to the lentil and we just savored it. The aroma of real red wine added a twist to the grilled chicken along with the unique curry prepared from green peas. To top it all we tried their salty lassi and cold coffee with blended ice cream which complimented the food. The owner, Mr. Feroz is a warm and welcoming person as is his staff. Do visit White Terrace for a relaxed and tasty evening.
Beautiful place to sit and relax and also eat. Come here if you have time and can sit while your food is been prepared. As there are only two chefs and it’s understandable to delay the order. We meanwhile enjoyed the setting, the lighting and the hustle bustle in the street down watching people. Good time indeed.
Visiting Udaipur then you must visit White Terrace rooftop restaurant
I found this place randomly while walking around the city & most certainly this place is one of the most beautiful hidden gem in the city.
It's a family managed quintessential Restaurant. The basic yet elegant décor gives a feel good feeling. On my 3 day visit to Udaipur I chose this place for at least my one time meal.On first day I had Laal Maas which was an absolute delight (I never had such melt in mouth mutton ever before this) accompanied with garlic Naan & Kingfisher. On second day I had Makhmali Murgh (such great texture of chicken in creamy gravy) plain naan was the best accompaniment for this followed with Kingfisher. Not just the food but what makes this place great is the personal touch and warmth they bring along with the food. This place is most certainly a foodies paradise. It truly offers the authenticity of Rajasthani food.It may not offer the best view of the lake but then Udaipur is beyond Lakes too it's also the White City.My Rating-Décor- 4.5Service- 5
Food- 5
The food was amazing. The restaurant is in the main area which is near Pichola lake. You will see a different menu here. Must try. We had Makhani Chooze and it was amazing.
Absolutely amazing food. If you are looking at a relaxed ambience and amazing lal maas... just visit this place.
And the entire staff makes your visit a great experience a must visit for the foodies.
Beautiful place and amazing food. Ordered basic dal and paneer tikka and both the dishes were delicious. Very enthusiastic staff and service was done so swiftly. My family lover it too. Recommended highly. And sorry that we broke a glass.
We tried the white terrace for the first time in my last trip to Udaipur and the food was great, freshly cooked very tasty and well presented. The waiters were attentive and service overall was good. The restaurant looked to have been recently decorated. Overall a good meal and great value we will certainly be going back.
Such a cozy place with a cozy ambience.
Food and its quantity is pretty nice.
The staff is polite and its location is pretty good.
Right in the middle of the market.
With two level seating in all white, white terrace has an aerial view of Udaipur’s old town streets and a Dargah. There’s an al fresco and an open terrace section with the menu featuring local, Continental and Thai food options.
Of the places we visited for eats in Udaipur’s old town, this has to hands down be the best around here. Highly recommended is the cheese stuffed kulcha! Prompt and courteous service made our visit here all the more memorable.
A must visit!
First meal in Rajasthan turned out to be the best meal of our trip and cost us only $22 for all the dishes we had below. I am sure this is rather expensive for local standard but yummy food in pleasant environment? Worth it. The restaurant also has a roof top seating area. The Laal Maas (a Rajasthani mutton curry that we will come across again and again on our tour of Rajasthan) was the best that we had in the entire trip (beats restaurant in all the palace hotels restaurants across Rajasthan) that the taste is very complex and spicy without being so hot that it burns our tongues. The Dal Makhani (black lentils cooked in ghee and topped with cream) was smooth, fragrant and creamy and the okra (Binti) was also very delicious and this place served the dish with a generous dollop of yogurt and lots of sesame seed with temper the spiciness or the chili it was stir fried in. Excellent place for lunch or dinner!
Very good food. Tried it on my very first night and loved everything we ordered. Only tried the vegetarian options. Nice and quick service.
This restaurant is the best I have tried so far in India (after 8 days). The food was absolutely awesome, the location and scenery were great, but what really made the biggest difference was the service. Vijay, our waiter, was the sweetest. He gave us great advice, was available and patient, not too present or pushy, and really touched us with some subtle attention to details like proactively asking whether we wanted starters first or all dishes together.
A shame it was our last evening in Udaipur, I would happily come back tomorrow!
I generally believe that places with a smaller menu have the best food because they focus on what they're actually good at. This place is no exception. We were a mixed group of Indians and a foreigner and we all equally loved both the food and the service. Really sweet people!
It look like a little classic & royal restaurant.
Service was good & taste was good of every item we ordered.
Very stylish place to overlook the city, great food and very friendly people. The menu also has a lot of different options, not just the standard stuff you get anywhere else. We tried the freshwater fish and it was delicious. Strongly recommended
Just got to Udaipur. Such a lovely place this restaurant is. Great atmosphere. Nice food. Excellent service by the waiter and the manager.
The food! The service!!! The ambiance! I wouldn’t change anything - this place is exactly what it needs to be - a charming small restaurant, to put a smile on your face. Look no further - you won’t regret it.
The food here is to die for... we ordered chicken gravy cookes in coriander and cream with butter naan and it was delicious! Place is slightly expensive but it's worth it
Undoubtedly the best in Udaipur. Ate some lovely Indian food there twice. Loved the taste and hospitality!
