Review The Banyan Deli - Vadodara

Krutika Dudharejiya
The Banyan Deli is an underrated cafe in town which offers a calming vibe and great food. They have a creative but expensive menu. Firstly, the Alfredo pasta didn't disappoint me at all, it has a good amount of cheese & sauces and I could even choose the veggies I wanted to add to it, overall it tasted amazing but I can't say the same for the garlic bread served along with it as it didn't really taste or look like garlic bread. Secondly, the Brushetta was also quite tasty and prepared well. Lastly, the Sweet Lime Orange Juice was really refreshing and a perfect cooler. I was really satisfied with the quality and quantity of the food but the service is really slow here even when it's not crowded. The place I visted used to be huge but now due to some ongoing renovation the space here is very limited. But you can visit another branch of banyan deli which offers the same experience. It's location is not available on Google r so i will provide it below. At the end I would definitely recommend this place when you want to escape the hustle & bustle of the city and just relax and clam yourself while enjoying delicious food and drinks. Price - Alfredo Pasta: Rs 220 Bruschetta: Rs 250 Sweet Lime Orange Juice: Rs 110 Location - GF -1, Piccadilly, Jetalpur Road, Alkapuri, Vadodara - 390007 (Opposite M Cube Mall)

Very nice decoration Style. We ordered the grilled vegetables with garlic bread and a pizza. The pizza was square which, we appreciated just because it was presented differently. The rate of the pizza and specially the crust was not that great!we also had a very berry smoothie and a basil lemonade, both if them we highly recommend!

I loved the ambience. The Interior has different and peaceful vibes.

Overall cafe is perfect, good service, food options are perfect and even taste and way of presenting is pretty good. 5 star for the ambient and the food quality.

Must visit for their basil lemonade and hummus- their best sellers. Their burmese khow suey is definitely their signature dish and i have not had a better khow suey in baroda.

The food was cold. The “warm spinach dip” had mayo in it, but was super expensive. The pizza was cold. Kheema wasn’t kheema. All jugaadu over prized stuff. Worst experience so far with banyan deli. Never ordering again.

I visited the place on my birthday. It has a unique atmosphere compared to other places in Vadodara. But maybe because of low demand it was not manned properly. There was only one staff to serve and though we were the only customer, still we got pretty late service. We tried humus and kebab rice. Taste was Ok... Expect lot of improvement.

The most underrated place in town! This place never disappoints. We ordered the Blended Cold coffee and it offered the perfect escape from this scorching summer heat. The place has an amazing ambience and offers all kinds of meals. The place feels quite cozy and a must visit.

Wanting to chill out at a soothing place on a hot summer day? Then The Banyan Deli offers the perfect vibe and ambience for some great conversations over a variety of delicious foods and drinks. <br/><br/>Ambience :<br/>The Banyan Deli is a pretty cafe, with a calming vibe and creative interior. It’s located in a corner on Jetalpur road. I really like it’s ambience. It’s quite rejuvenating. Their music collection is impressive too! I like their seating and decor, it sort of gives a very pacifying feeling. <br/><br/>Food :<br/><br/>Well, I’d tried their-<br/><br/>• HAZELNUT COLD COFFEE- Let me tell you, I totally loved it! It was perfectly blend, with a mild flavour of coffee (that’s how I like it) and a rich flavour of hazelnut. It was very soothing and was a perfect cooler. <br/><br/>• FERRERO ROCHER MILKSHAKE : This was a very refreshing shake and as the name suggests, it was rich in Ferrero. <br/><br/>• PESTO VEGGIE PIZZA : This was a delectable preparation of pizza, with a pesto sauce, more like a flat bread pizza, with luscious toppings. It was loaded with red, yellow, green, bell peppers, onions and black olives. It was well done, and I really liked the flavour of this one.<br/><br/>• VEGGIE ROSTI : This was a unique preparation of mashed potoates, veggies and cheese. So basically it was made with grated potatoes, made into a large patty, roasted and baked, topped with veggies and lots of cheese! It was utterly delicious!<br/><br/>• BURMESE KHOW SEUY (VEG) : This was very disappointing. Firstly, it did not come with flat noodles, which I’d asked for. Secondly, it was totally dry, usually khow seuys are rich in curry. They did give extra curry on side, when I asked for it, so plus points for the staff being cooperative. But the taste of this dish was very bland. Also, I found it to be too high on garlic. <br/><br/>Service :<br/>The staff is very polite and humble. They’re very accommodative and cooperative. <br/><br/>Tired after a long, busy day? Or just wanna chill out on a hot sunny day? Well, then this cafe is a good choice to just lay back and enjoy chit-chatting and catching up with your friends!<br/><br/>Ambience : 4/5<br/>Food : 4/5<br/>Service : 3.5/5<br/>Overall : 4/5

It was my first visit to The Banyan Deli and may I just say what a pretty place. ❤️ I fell in love w the interior & ambience. Coming to the food, we ordered Arabiatta Pasta, Banyanish Hummus w Pita bread and Lemongrass fizz. Weren’t disappointed at all. Loved all the 3 items but still can’t get over the place. ☺️❤️

It’s great place to visit. The food is excellent! Service is friendly! Owners are passionate about their work! <br/>When passion is put to work the result is bound to be great! <br/>Cocktails are refreshing! Food specially variety of Thai coconut curry and afgani kebab rice are delicious! <br/>Pizzas are not as per my expectations as owner tried to make them as per taste of Indians! <br/>Overall great culinary experience! Keep it up!<br/><br/>

This place, hidden from the Chaos of a commercial set up. In the sacred corner of a building, off a busy road, has stolen my heart! The perfect place to have those discussions with a close friend that have major conclusions.. or a perfect place to just sit by yourself and read a nice book! The cinnamon coffee and hot chocolate were amazing! The staff is very cordial and the place is LIT! It's one of the best in terms of ambiance in Vadodara city that Ive visited so far..!!

A little hideout serves amazing lemon basil drink. A bit costly but hygienic and yummy. 😋 Had ordered sandwich here and a drink. A place for small groups and couples and it’s sitting place is not so large.

Pizza was cold when it arrived. I had ordered a Mexican pizza n it tasted like rajma curry spread on a dry hard cold roti, topped with some onion n a little cheese

We had an absolutely fantastic experience when we hosted a small party at Banyan Deli. The place is very versatile and the food is par excellence. A special thanks to Neha and Ulka, they were present all through the party and everything was personally monitored by them.<br/>Would recommend Banyan Deli for everyone for for great food and super ambiance.<br/>

Horrid food. No flavour, no taste at all. We ordered the Thai curry and the khowsuey. We had a couple of bites of our dishes and we decided to return everything. Very very disappointed! Will go somewhere else and eat!

When my eggetarian friend came to Baroda from Ahmedabad for an official work, I wanted to take him to an egg-celent hang-out joint. Picked up The Banyan Deli  as the venue since I too had wanted to visit the place for long.<br/><br/>The first thing we tried out was their signature dish – ‘Eggs Kejriwal’. It is a simple healthy dish with half fried eggs on toast and a generous layer of sautéed mushrooms wonderfully put together between a dash of cheese and the toast. <br/><br/>Google up and you will find out that The Banyan Deli is not the only place serving this delicious food item. The Bar Stock Exchange, The Willingdon Sports Club , SodaBottleOpenerWala, The Bombay Canteen and Theobroma are a few popular eateries serving 'Eggs Kejriwal'.<br/><br/>We also tried out a Margherita Pizza, which I now know, is one of Piyush’s favorite kinds of pizza. No one can go wrong completely wrong with a tomato, basil and fresh mozzarella combo, can one? The Pizza was decent enough, but not THE best we had tasted. I am not a purist but once you try pizza at SNAPPY Pizza in Baroda, your life may never be the same. <br/><br/>I ordered a Mud Pie Milkshake for myself and a Vanilla Ice Cream with Gems for my baby. The mud pie was blended rightly into the shake and the Ice Cream was drizzled well with chocolate syrup and gems – good enough to hold my toddler’s excitement for quite some time. <br/><br/>The ambience is pretty cozy, with a variety of couches to choose from to make your bums feel comfortable. We were satisfied with the quantity and found the place to be value for money. Also the waitresses were friendly and cheerful! Would surely visit again.

Food amazing and very intERENSTing concept Whole place, IS very unusuall TO find such nice special restaurant-cafe and there IS plenty if choice for everybody, the staff IS very professional and friendly. The music Selection IS relaxing yet groovy

Had ordered their Malaysian curry, it was a disappointment since it was far from authentic. I'm a Singaporean and know the local flavors pretty well. To taste chicken curry which was sweet and a completely different use of ingredients was an absolute let down. Malaysian curry is meant to be spicy, the chicken pieces are very tender and the ones I had were chewy. Their basil lemonade was good. I really hope they stop recreating dishes and provide cuisines that are authentic.

Neha and Ulka have created a beautiful, warm, intimate place. It gives you a homely feeling the minute you set foot at Banyan Deli. We recently held a party there for senior citizens. Yes, the place is not just for the young, but those young at heart also. <br/>Our guests were beyond thrilled with the evening they spent there. The presentation of food from starters to main course and dessert, as well as fresh juices was great. As a lot of guests told us, we were tired of eating the same old dal makhani and paneer sabji at parties. TBD’s Food was not just a welcome change, but had great flavors, and something everyone would remember. <br/><br/>The mini falafel with Greek dip, chicken and paneer satays, cheese platter, Malay curry and shot glass desserts are some everyone loved. <br/><br/>Go ahead- host your next party there, take your friends, kids, significant other or parents to The Banyan Deli. You won’t be disappointed. Or just go there by yourself to get a breather from the everyday routine and peruse some books they have there as you sip on some fresh juice in the sweltering heat.

I am feeling very happy to share my review, because it was a very special day for me when I visited this place and yes it was my birthday !!<br/>To begin with this place is very amazing , the concept is very different, it has lot many paintings which were too beautiful, nice decor, very unique style of furnishing is used, very eye soothing.<br/>Indians are not satisfied unless they get good tempting food to eat and being a foodie, i want to share that menu is pretty decent and variety of options available, the best was pesto pizza which i loved, coolers were exciting but depends on your taste.....<br/>I already had 3 cakes on hands , surprisingly all friends bought cakes , we were left with no chance to order sweet, but i am sure it will not disappoint you as well:(<br/>Service was good, bit slow, however overall different experience.<br/>I must say, best place to visit with loved one, nevertheless  if  solo, you will enjoy your own self and be contended with beauty, decor, food .<br/>Must visit !!!

Everything about this place was very mediocre. And the staff was quite lethargic.<br/><br/>There was a mushroom dish which i faintly remember that was good. All other dishes that we ordered were disappointing. <br/><br/>Ambiance is also very average. <br/><br/>Nothing that would tempt me to go back again.

Excellent food. Ideal take-away’s for house parties. The quality of the food is outstanding and is complete value for money. Kudos to the entire team of Banyan Deli for this amazing setup. 👍🏻

Nice and cozy place to sit and chit chat over a cup of coffee. out of the box ambience and cool menu. almost ideal for a weekend eve. however the lady who ownes the place is not very polite. maybe they should take this point seriously as to how they treat their customers.

Finally Baroda has some really good food fantastic ambiance must visit place.<br/>“Just a few lines to thank you so much for the wonderful meal.<br/><br/>Extremely high standard of cuisine, coupled with great restaurant atmosphere. Very courteous/happy staff. A real pleasure. All friends very impressed. I will return!!!“

Tried burmese khowsuey (non-veg), shwarma (non-veg) & chocolate waffle. Shwarma was quite good. But the chocolate waffle was not upto the mark. Interior is good in terms of the concept & furniture used but maintenance is less.

Visited this place sometime back and must admit,it's nothing like I imagined.<br/>The service was very slow. It took more than 45 mins to get our order which was a chicken item (don't remember the name). <br/>The food portions were really small( disgustingly small). And tasteless. There weren't any flavors in any of the items ordered, not even in the humus and the pita bread. "That Place" has alot of flavor in their same items.<br/>Ambiance was good, as in different from what we usually see. Has a rustic feel to it.<br/>But seriously not a place worth visiting. You can give it a pass.

A good place to hangout with a friend or to be on a date. Silent and with a good ambience this place has got a nice range of selection from the menu.<br/>We tried with KitKat Milkshake and Quesadillas.<br/>Milkshake was good and the food was a bit average. But a good experience over-all.

Banyan Deli has its own specialty of serving famous & prefered dishes from all around the world. The clam ambiance and eyecatche interiors are very soothing.<br/>To start with we were served with "Basil lemonade" where basil is the the predominant ingredient and acts as a<br/> savour👅 on the Pan(pizza) we had "Pesto " which had fresh basil pesto, onions, peppers, olives and cheese , where the base was of whole wheat thin crust. This was something which was most prefered by the tastebuds😍<br/>Next up we had " Hummus bowl with pita" where Hummus is served with various toppings such as Mushroomish, Banyanish, Istanbulish and Greenish and served with warm pita bread. We had Hummus bowl topped with Banyanish; this was something very much unique, never tried before and can be rated as 10/10😍.<br/>This one stop is where you can enjoy dishes from all over the world and a best place to recommend.❤

Visited this place for an evening supper, the place has an array of different seating arrangement with distict interior in each corner. The ambience is by far the best i have seen, comparing with any other café in the city. Great spacing between tables you feel a sense of privacy, there are games to play, books to read. The concept is superb with every table having its own different theme. Talking about the food, we ordered pasta in red sauce, dumplings and mocktails. The pasta was above average with good flavour of spices and herbs and it also had garlic bread as its side which were good.. the dumplings tasted average and were a bit too spicy but the sauce was good.. The mocktails were not very impressive just normal syrup and juices in ice cold water. Overall the major chunk of my review rating is for their ambience and facilities which you can enjoy with some good food.<br/>

Awesome ambience!! With great food and service. <br/>A must try place to hang out with friends and the loved ones. <br/>A little heavy on the pocket but absolutely worth it.

The place was entirely deserted when I'd entered but the beautiful interior did make me stay. This cafe is one of the prettiest one I've come across in Vadodara. But the food was a bit of a letdown! We ordered Pesto Pasta, Stir Fried Veggies with Garlic Bread and Nutella Waffles. Pesto Pasta was fair, it had a strong presence of Basil The veggies were charred and not stir fried and tasted bitter so we sent the dish back and were not charged for it. Nutella Waffles were good, not the best that I've tasted, but as they had a home-made feel to them and were thin and fresh, we liked them. However, the portions served were pretty small as compared to what most other places serve for the amount they charged.<br/><br/>All in all the food tasted somewhere between average and good and the interior was between good and great.
Kanishka Panchal
Giving this place a 3 star just for the interiors ! The place is very nicely decorated using pastel colours and mini plants !<br/>But they really need to improve on their food, services and music ! <br/>Not a great place to hang out if u are really hungry or in a mood to have good coffee !

Beautiful interiors and nice food.<br/>All the drinks are a must try. If you're looking for spending quality time in a serene place this the one you should opt for. Staff is nice and overall it was a good experience

This is my fav place in city. On a saturday night when there were waiting line outside most of the restaurant.. I decided to go to this place because its like undiscovered gem in the city. You will always find a table here. I absolutely LOVE the ambiance here. .however one if the evenings there was a power cut off and.no power back up. . we were also bitten by mosquitos on one of the occasions. I would say the service is tad slow but the food never disappoints. Their Red Thai curry is to die for. The best I would say. Though I would say only visit this place if you are not in a rush and really want to enjoy your food.

Great interior<br/>Great ambience<br/>Good food <br/>Pesto pasta and Lebanese pizza was unique and nicely prepared<br/>Mint grass fizz was equally nice<br/>Staff is very rude and non welcoming<br/>We were a group of 5 in the hot Sunday afternoon afternoon.. They din't care to play music neither they turn on the lights above our table ... They don't turn on the AC<br/>Had to ask for the WiFi password 2 times although the cafe welcomes you with the signage of free WiFi zone<br/>Value for money is a lil less I found and people don't prefer a cafe where such rude staff resides may it be a good place though.... The low 2.5 rating is for the staff

A very Hole in the Wall atmosphere. You're immediately comfortable as soon as you see the decor and the music just lightens up the place. <br/>The food is beautifully balanced and tastes fairly authentic. Had the Mexican burrito bowl. Portion size good enough for one. The hand churned ice creams are also good. Give the cinnamon espresso a go. You'll not regret it. <br/>Overall a very good experience and definitely the kind of place you'd wanna come back to.

Tucked away in a corner somewhere on Jetalpur Road, the place is going to surprise you so much!<br/>I absolutely love the ambience of this place!!! Painted in earthy hues it's got a vintage rustic feel to it. Spacious and comfortable seating. Beautiful painting of the city on the walls. Not too crowded. We visited on a weekday around 7pm and there were hardly 6-7 people sitting.<br/>They play decent music. 3/5<br/>Service is good. There were mosquitoes but they gave us a racquet to kill them. That was fun. :D<br/>Coming to food, we ordered a strawberry milkshake and a cookie and cream milkshake. Both were delicious.<br/>Next we got Taquitos and Quesidillas. They were tasty but very similar in their filling. Served with sour cream and salsa.<br/>We got Veg Maggie which had broccoli and corn and a cheesy flavour to it. For the price, it was totally worth it.<br/><br/>Go check this place out as soon as possible!! You're going to love it. :D

So, today I went to 'The Banyan Deli', got to know about this through Zomata. I wanted to try some new cafe or something in the city and wanted some place quiet and something that serves delicious food. I went with a friend of mine whom I had to meet since a long time. First it is located inside off the opposite lane to Oven Magic in Jetalpur road, it looks pretty small from outside, but as we entered we were surprised, for it was spacious and very well kept and coordinated. The place was contemporary, quirky and homely. And there were frames of Old Vadodara city on the wall. So, for the ambiance it was pretty impressive. Coming to the menu, it was short, sweet and casual. We ordered hot Nutella Chocolate, Iced Latte, Pesto Pizza, Chicken Shawrma, Veg Lasagna. <br/>And all of the food was amazing. The quality and quantity was satisfactory. On the budget side, it is little heavy on the pocket. But, it is worthwhile.<br/><br/>Ambiance: 4.5<br/>Menu variety: 3.5<br/>Food: 4.5<br/>Service: 4.0<br/>Budget: 3.5<br/><br/>P.S ~ All those who are inclined towards healthy food rejoice because most of the items offered here are whole wheat based.

My friend told me to come here and I readily agreed to it considering the fact that she has a very good choice. And I must say I was not disappointed. This place is an experience in itself. Quietly situated in the busy area of Jetalpur it offers a peaceful and a non rushed eating experience. The interiors are beautiful done and they give you a feeling that a lot of hard work has gone in and the choicest of elements have been combined in making this what it is. Comfortable seating and they let you have a time of your own. Coming to the Food, we ordered a Lemon Iced Tea, A Basil Fizz, Pasta in White Sauce, Nachos, and a Pizza. To start with the Drinks, both were good. Had a very different flavor in them. I liked them both. The Nachos again were nicely made with the Chef making sure that the Toppings did not Soften the Crispness of those Nachos. I liked it pretty much, the Pasta in White Sauce was fair but I liked the way it was served in a tiffin. Added to the grace. What didn't impress me was the Pizza. It was good but then it had a lot of Spinach in It which I didn't like. Probably I had gone a bit wrong with the Order. Also we ordered couple of Garlic Breads which went down pretty quickly. No problems in that as well. To round out Banyan Deli is a very good place to be it if you want to want to spend some really good time with friends and family. Its pretty decent on the Pockets as well and so it's a must try in my opinion. Manmeet Nitish Singh Paulomi Neogi. Credits to Manmeet for the Choice of this place.. Would definitely visit again

Beautiful place so far in the city. It's cozy as well as classy. From floor to the wall, from table to the cushions everything is pretty. Every step thr is some innovation, whether it's ambience or the food. The black boards, the antique showpieces, cactus on the table and the rolling menu card are some of the cute things (though i didnt get the idea of using cactus). It's moreover a cafe so yes the dishes are less and beverages are more. We opted mushroom quessidilla and pasta alfredo. Thr presentation was impressive. After long time i had such lip smacking quesidilla but the pasta disappointed us little, we wanna have creamy pasta but it doesn't have that taste, though it was not bad in taste. Another good thing is it's pocket friendly. If you wanna hangout in the town, rush here soon.

Good ambience and a pretty interior. The food was also great but it would be better if they give more quantity! Otherwise a good place to visit for quiet evening outings.

Highly Recommended, its a small peaceful place, went on a sunday evening still no crowd, the food is awesome, service is great but most importantly i loved the overall feel of the place. Gonna visit again for sure!!

Awesome food. Very well presented and extremely hygienic creation. Ordered food for my wife's birthday and my family dotted on it and binged it away in no time

There's something about this place that enchants me. May be it's the whole woody natural ambience with pretty little colorful baskets that hold money plants in them or the mellow music and refreshing vibes that you can feel yourself surrounded by. <br/>Or it might just be the fact that i discovered this place when i was really looking for a shelter away from the everyday world where i could just sit and read while silently sipping on my latte on the other hand. <br/>Whatever it is, I love this tiny little deli and for some reason, it has now become a pretty little part of my life - my occasional escape.<br/> I visit here once in a few months when i am feeling down or just because and it always welcomes me with the same freshness and radiance. <br/><br/>

Amazing food , try the Khouwsey (best so far in baroda) , the panini's , hummus & falafels are also the best. <br/>If you haven't tried it yet , it's time to try this cozy, nicely decorated little space. <br/>Oh ! And also don't miss the basil lemonade ...best best best !! <br/>Not tried anything else yet but can vouch that it'll be very very nice
