Review Bowl Of Compassion - Varanasi

Charlie Learoyd
Would honestly give this place a 10/10. Me and my girlfriend ate her a few times and the food is great value considering it is all homemade, traditional, local food. The rooftop is very peaceful considering how busy the surrounding streets are. The owner, Somit, is dedicated to helping local, vulnerable children who cannot afford school fees and so the money raised at the homestay goes directly towards teaching these children.

We stumbled across bowl of compassion whilst roaming the back streets near our hostel. We got talking Somid, who has a wealth of knowledge and kindly gave us recommendations of what to visit in Varanasi. We also had lunch, the food was delicious and well priced. The philosophy and break ground of his company is so inspiring, helping the less unfortunate children obtain an education as well as providing nutritious food for them, the place has a very calming feel to it. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area and looking for different things to do.

I stayed 1 week with Somit and his team and it has been such a great experience. I could stay with the children of the school and I tought them spanish. It was so nice to be with them and share good moments. I also enjoyed the food from Bowl of Compassion and it was really tasty, natural and made with love. They have a nice terrasse where you can enjoy a delicious and calmed dinner. I would recommend everybody that comes to Varanasi to experience not only Somit yoga's training but also their food and what is more important, the school. I was really impressed about this project and I wish them all the best for the future.

The food was good and the terrace is a nice place to enjoy a bit of silence and calm in such a noisy city. The prices are a bit above average but they have many charity and volunteering projects so you know they end up in the right way. Recommended.

The food is delicious but thats just One Part of this amazing story. We just wanted to eat something good and run into a really beneficial and welcoming place for the Community by doing Social yoga business with kids and their Families from not so wealthy parts of Varanasi. It's been a blessing. 🙂

Amazing food experience in Varanasi. Portions were generous, food was freshly prepared, and service was good.

Delicious food. We ate on the rooftop (required walking up 4 flights of steep stairs) where we saw chipmunks and monkeys outside of our little protected area with plants. The food was really good, especially the fried eggplant. I don't recommend the naan, but the chapati was great. The service here was really great and the guy who helped us also helped walk us to the street where we could get a tuktuk easily, since we were in a hurry to go somewhere. These seem like genuinely good people. Would eat here again.
