Would honestly give this place a 10/10. Me and my girlfriend ate her a few times and the food is great value considering it is all homemade, traditional, local food. The rooftop is very peaceful considering how busy the surrounding streets are. The owner, Somit, is dedicated to helping local, vulnerable children who cannot afford school fees and so the money raised at the homestay goes directly towards teaching these children.
We stumbled across bowl of compassion whilst roaming the back streets near our hostel. We got talking Somid, who has a wealth of knowledge and kindly gave us recommendations of what to visit in Varanasi.
We also had lunch, the food was delicious and well priced.
The philosophy and break ground of his company is so inspiring, helping the less unfortunate children obtain an education as well as providing nutritious food for them, the place has a very calming feel to it.
Definitely recommend if you’re in the area and looking for different things to do.
A lovely experience at bowl of compassion. We were welcomed by somit who took the time to chat with us about local culture in Varanasi. The food was delicious and very reasonable price. Volunteering is available here also. A very lovely experience
