Review Sagar Ratna - Varanasi

Tried the North Indian food here and it was fresh and tasty. The dishes taste just as the homelike food. The ambience is really good, gives a cozy yet open space. I loved the naan, no extra puffiness, just plain and authentic. The only complaint I've is that there is no toppings available for the ice-cream, not even chocolate syrups. I hope they add it soon.

Good food, ambience and service. The staff is courteous. South Indian food is recommended. North Indian also tastes good. Overall a nice place to beat the heat while enjoying good food.

My husband and I absolutely love Sagar Ratna! Every time we’ve gone (or ordered takeout) we have had respectful and prompt service and always delicious food. Our favorites are the Idli Chaat and Thali Deluxe. We’ve also had spring rolls and dosa and are very excited to try more of the menu. For an early lunch we split a Thali Deluxe and it has been enough food to hold us over until dinner. If we come for dinner then we each order a Thali Deluxe, or one Thali Deluxe and a smaller dish, like spring rolls. The Idli Chaat is to die for! I could eat it everyday. A must get!

Ambience was good and slow music was their to lighten up mood, there was a 4feet dosa was good in taste and deluxe Thali option was top selling product here, worth trying.

Sagar Ratna is famous for its South Indian cuisines. And I have been to many Sagar Ratna’s in the past at different places. So I tried it here & I have to say food tasted good specially the deluxe thali. The restaurant is clean and perfect for vegetarians. Overall it was a good experience. Do check out this place!!

If you are looking out for a place serving delicious vegetarian north Indian nd south Indian food in Varanasi, my go to place is definitely Sagar Ratna! With the beautiful ambience and tasty meals this place is so good that even they make you eat nd fall in love with such dishes which you might not like personally. In my case it was palak but then i tried corn palak ki sabzi here nd i became a fan! Highly recommended place in Varanasi to chill out with friends and go out on breakfast/lunch/dinner with family

Food is very delicious and the atmosphere and staff is very good.

The Sagar Ratna is one of the few restaurants which serve authentic South Indian food having significant varieties in starters, main course, desserts. They serve few combos also but upto certain time limits. I ordered Mysore Masala Dosa and it was at par. The dosa was served along with coconut chutney, pudina chutney, and sambhar which was bit sugary and I feel like the taste resembles Karnataka's taste of South Indian dishes. The stuffing (mashed potato) of Mysore Masala Dosa was not appropriate as it was not of what the above dish should have. The stuffing was of plain masala dosa, that I believe needs to be improved. I also ordered Rava Kesari from the Dessert section and it was simple like rava halwa having dry fruits and the essence of Kesar. Overall the ambience was good, the staff was polite, hospitality was nice. It was simple and soothing experience.

We had an amazing experience at this restaurant. The food was good. We had visited Varanasi and we went to this restaurant before continuing with the remaining sight seeing, with our twins babies of 1.6 years. We were scared whether our babies would be able to eat outside but they ate rice and daal. My boy even tried the papad along with me.The restaurant is clean and hygienic and the ambience is great. It is best for South Indian food lovers...l always go Sager ratna if I wanted to eat South Indian food...not on this city...but when I was out also I search Sager ratna for South Indian food because no one bit it's taste,it's quality.....it is all time my Fev ....my Fev is its masala dosa...it's yummy....u can also try it's idli....rava dosa, coffee and puri sabji.....all item will come delicious flavour....

The food was good, not great.I'm not from India. When the bill came, Rupee 313, I paid with a 500 rupee note. The cashier intentionally tried to cheat me out of 100 rupee in returning my change. Then pretended that I was wrong and finally apologized. Check your change. Two stars for the pathetic attempt to cheat.

Sagar Ratna is a famous restaurant chain all around North India famous for its South Indian cuisine. The restaurant maintains its quality in terms of cleanliness and taste. It is well decorated and colourfully lit 💡💡💡 with proper seating arrangements and reserved tables. The staff has a proper dress code and are trained professionals. The crowd is less and mostly filled with sophisticated people including a corporate table and two family tables. The menu had a variety of South Indian and a number of North Indian dishes as well. I ordered idli vada combo which allows you to order 3 pieces of idli or vada in Rs. 140. The taste was good and was served with sambhar and 2 types of chutney. The sambhar chutney taste just fine here since I have had better sambhar and chutney at many places that I have been to.

Sagar Ratna as known for there south indian cusine and huge family dosa. Comfortable sitting setup and relaxed ambience is the most likeable quality of this unit. Rasam + Aplam= rasam is famous South Indian starter drink carrying 26 spices in it and prepared using tamarind juice as base , served hot and sour ...Aplam is basically papad..Rasam was good and spices were aptly used..<br/><br/>2. Butter milk: It was so good..If you like butter milk then do try it here..<br/><br/>3. Salt corn n pepper and Crispy veg: Both of them were oily and tasted average , veggies were overcooked,need much improvement... Veg Chowmein : I liked it very much as it wasnt oily. The veggies were crunchy and over all it was good.<br/><br/>Veg biriyani with gobi manchurian: I felt it was a bit on the spicier side. A heaven for south Indians in Varanasi. The ambience speaks of the culture of the state of Kerela. Rava masala dosa was very crispy and it was served with coconut chutney, Shambar, other chutneys. They also serve the family pack 6 feet masala dosa. The idli was not so satisfactory enough because that day it was a bit raw from inside, not properly cooked or feremented.<br/>.<br/>Second visit<br/>I tried out Paneer Zalfrezi and Butter naan. The paneer was very delicious and the masala was awesome. A must try out paneer dish here. And also we tried Veg noodles which was also good.<br/>.<br/>Third visit<br/>I tried out Mysore Masala Dosa which was very spicy, crispy and we'll presented as an upright cone served with south indian chutneys and sambhar.<br/>I tried out Veg Biriyani which was ok but not so satisfactory enough. Sagar Ratna is a good fine dine South Indian restaurant! It was authentic South Indian through and through for each of the many South Indian dishes they offered. I loved their dosas and idlis and vadas, served with the nice accompaniments. It was really priced with a good service to round the experience all up nicely

South Indian junction!<br/>If you are looking for authentic south Indian food with the adulteration of north indian masala then this is the place.<br/>Food: I started with their classic Madaras Buttermilk which with a balance of salt and chilli which I loved it. We started with dahi vada which was damn good which perfect consistency of dahi and perfectly soft vada topped with pomegranate and crispy boondi, a must try! Then I had their newly launched soya chaap in three flavours Afghani, malai and masala. My favourite was Afghani soya chaap. This is highly recommended, the best soya chaap in town. I tried their Chilli garlic dosa which was spicy and damn crispy,loveed it. Mysore masla dosa was really amazing highly recommended, rava masala dosa was very unique and tasty. Their podi idli was amazing coated woth amazing masala and I never tasted such masala in my life, that was straight from Kerala!! And the last one was famous filter Kaapi, the only place in town to have this.<br/>Ambiance: The interior is lovely with beautiful chairs and decor, they have a family get together section also. Sagar Ratna serves a enough variety of South Indian food. But the food is not only limited to that they serve huge varieties of Chinese and North Indian food, All the ingredients are there in house production plus it's a pure vegetarian restaurant. Loved the unique dishes on and on the taste was also amazing 😍 MUST VISIT PLACE

like always dis place is a hub for south indian food but during navratri u should eat varieties of dosa here like spring roll dosa dat was something different and unique

Unprofessional staff. They take ages to prepare food. Simple order of yellow daal n naan took 1 hr.<br/>No one is ready to listen. Everyone has only one sentence for you, "Sir next is your order only" .<br/>

I tried here cheese dosa which was god this place offers good choice of southindian foid but also has large menu which include most of the north indian dishes.

Went there on a Friday evening and the place was almost full. Although it is known for south Indian food but the taste is just average. Filter coffee was the only good thing about this place.<br/>Coming to service, really disappointed. Multiple waiters took our order, one of them said few dishes aren't there but then the other one approved and got the food. I felt a really casual attitude towards customers.

Ordered a mysore mashala dosa via zomato. But the stuffing was absent. But the sambar and the chutney was awesome. I want to draw the attention of Sagar Ratna in this matter.

If you love south indian food then thr is no way u should leave this place.. a must visit for any South Indian dish they also serve other cuisines but suggestion are to go for south indian coz othr restaurants have better taste in case of other cusines

I did not have a good experience here. Went on my birthday and had a Chinese combo. Food was not tasty at all. Also, we paid a good amount but quantity of the combo was not enough. Then we ordered a cold coffee and a mojito. The coffee was ok presentation was zero, the mojito was nice but again the presentation was not impressive. The ambiance was average and the staff was too slow. Instead of playing a good music they were playing cheap songs. I would not recommend this place if u wanna have a good food and spend quality time.

The ambiance is very nice and tempting. It is basically famous for south indian cuisine but you guys can also bump there for breakfast. My food expirience was not so good i ordered masala dosa but it was not good as expected. The aaloo battor was cold and not so spicy. It was my first time experience. Hope for next time.

This is a pure famiy restaurant. They have very hygienic kitchen and food, recently their interior and menu has been updated,a bit expensive for South Indian foods, 4 feet neverending dosa is attraction which can feed upto 10-12 people easily.<br/>Food is Okay can be improved. Not a place to spend long lazy hours.

I had the 4 feet dosa here. Unfortunately, we were just 2 people and with our best efforts we could only finish nearly 60% of it and we had to pack away the rest with us😂😂. It wasn't like the paper dosa but it was doubly rolled and absolutely humongous. It was tasty and service was good. Ambiance was very nice :)

Sagar Ratna serves Delicious south indian food. I visited this place in varanasi after hearing about it from many people. Their chain is in multiple cities. The food served here was hot and fresh. You will find different types of dosa here all of which are non comparable in taste. Also The presentation here of dosa is very beautiful. And the one thing because of which it definitely attracts the common mass is of its affordable rate. definitely a great place for family lunches and dinners.

What I like about Sagar Ratna is that if you visit any of their outlets, their food tastes the same. It is the safest place to have food specially if you are visiting a new city and are not sure where to go and eat. Same food, same ambience as most Sagar Ratnas. Do try their filter coffee, gulab jamuns after you have had your meal.

I have been to 3 different Sagar Ratna and this one was not upto the mark when compared to others. I go here mainly for south indians and proper north india and to be true I never am unsatisfied. Although this place is not the best but it will definitely satisfy your hunger. They have good sitting arrangements , spacious enough. The staff is friendly. The service is bit slow and I personally feel it's not on the budget friendly side. Horrible service!<br/>Horrible food!<br/><br/>Tried plain dosa, dahi idli, mix veg uttapam, lemon rice, Kesari Bhat and cold coffee, and nothing was wow! <br/>-Dosa had no flavour. It was not at all crisp. <br/>-Dahi idli was very hard and flavour was awful. <br/>-Lemon rice had more than required flavour of lemon. But still could eat it <br/>-Kesari Bhat was rather tasting like sooji ka halwa with lot of colour. <br/>-Cold coffee had more flavour of chocolate than coffee. <br/><br/>Overall, nothing was worth it!
